We called and left a voicemail for Barney on Memorial Day weekend and he called almost immediately. He asked for me to put in a service request and he would call in Tuesday (due to the holiday). We did and he followed through! Barney was flexible with our busy schedules and completed the work within the week, and we changed the day of service twice. The work looks great and he was incredibly professional and kind. Do yourself a favor and call Barney’s for your electrical needs! We are thankful he was recommended to us!

Called Barney (yes, the owner answers the phone and still does the work) to fixed some non-compliant issues at the house (GFCI and open wire splices in the attic). He came and looked at the job to give me an accurate estimate and didnt charge for the trip.Barney was easy to talk to and very communicative. He called when he said he would call. He showed up when he said he will show up. He finished the work and cleaned up - didnt leave a trace that he was there. He even fixed a GFIC plug that the inspector missed.Highly recommended!

Brand new first time home owner here... I moved in and the lights were flickering in the whole house whenever appliances and AC were running. It was like a disco 🪩.I was very ignorant about potential solutions. Everybody said i needed an electrician right away. So i was a bit frantic and worried that the house could catch on fire.Anyways, I called a different company first (Safe plug). The owner came, charged me 80 just to see the lights flicker then 250 to open the panel. Then he said the repair would be 7k!I needed a 2nd opinion so I sent a service request to Barney and he called me back the same day. Barney said to call Oncor (power company) first because they fix issues on their end for free and many times theyre the cause of electrical issues. Good to know!I called oncor, the automated phone agent, and said my lights are flickering. It said someone would try to fix it on their end.A few hours later, no more flickering! Thankfully there are honest people like Barney in this world, I owe him big time for what he taught me and protected me from!

When we had issues with some of our outlets today (me, like an idiot, had my space heater connected to a power strip) turning off he came over & kindly asked me not to use my space heater anymore as it’s a fire hazard. I called Barneys Electric about an issue I was having with my home electrical system (Apr 2024) and was asked to describe the problems in detail. I did, and Barney suggested that I call Oncor, as he thought it could be something that they would need to address.After calling Oncor, they came out and checked my issue and the problem was indeed on them. Barney lost out on a service call as he was honest, but he wanted me to have my problem fixed and not to charge me for something that was an Oncor issue.I will ALWAYS call Barneys electric from now on. He puts honesty before profits!

Barneys Electric is awesome...I would HIGHLY recommend using him for all your electrical needs/issues. I have used Barneys Electric 3 times in the past few weeks, the first 2 times was right before Christmas when I lost power in my island right after the last freeze. I was worried that being so close to Christmas I would not be able to find anybody willing to come out. Barney answered the phone immediately and was very willing to come help, he arrived at my house within an hour of me calling and was able to correctly fix my issue. I lost power again on Christmas eve and again Barney was willing to come out and help, again he arrived at my house within minutes of me calling and this was on Christmas eve...in my book this was unbelievable and the sign of a true professional. I used Barney for the 3rd time right after the first of the year to install new recessed lighting in my living area and again Barney (and Steve) were on time, professional and got the job done within a couple of hours. I cant be happier with Barneys Electric and would HIGHLY recommend him for any electrical work that needs to be done.

On Saturday morning, my parents house nearly caught fire after their power breaker panel exploded and they were without power for the night. Barney (the owner himself) showed up at 7am on a Sunday the next morning and completely installed an entirely new breaker panel and had their power restored by Noon. The price was fair. He showed up a Sunday in a days notice. Easily saved my parents $3-4K that Milestone Electric wanted to charge!

At 8:00 the next morning, he called and said he would be at my house at 9:30 and would call back if he could make it sooner. He arrived right on time.Without delay, Barney and his crew went to work and discovered a shorted wall outlet. It was replaced and the problem was solved.My wife and I have used Barneys before. Outstanding Service! Barney and his team are great!I called Barney on a Saturday morning expecting to leave a message for a call back on Monday. I was surprised that Barney answered my call. I was able to send him a list of my needs using his website. Barney called me the following Monday morning to schedule a date for the work to be completed.Barney and his associates arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. They replaced several electrical outlets and a light fixture, added an outlet where I needed it, repaired two ceiling fans and installed a ceiling fan on my patio. All of this was done in about 3 hours.I mentioned to one of the associates (Rusty) that the plug on my expensive hair dryer was burned up. He helped me located a replacement plug online. I called Barney when I received the plug, and he and Rusty came by and replaced the plug on the hair dryer (no extra charge). Thanks to Rusty, Im so happy that I didnt have to trash this expensive hair dryer!!!!Barneys Electric is definitely who Ill go to for future electrical needs!

I had a short in a very obscure location. We first tried replacing the breaker and it looked good but then failed again a few days later. As electronics engineer, I know how intermittent issues are very hard to troubleshoot. Barney came back and had to go all in to find the intermittent short. He gave me a very fair price. Him and Steve are very nice people on top of it. You can tell they both have many years of experience. I would not consider going anywhere else for any future electrical needs.

He replaced and upgraded our old Federal Pacific electrical panel, changed out and add our new outlets and most importantly, ran the underground line and wired up my husbands workshop. We are very happy with the work, and very impressed with Barneys professionalism and willingness to address all of our concerns about permitting and the project in general. I was having issues with breakers tripping. I called another electric company and received a call back from their electrician who advised he knew what the problem was and the breakers needed to be replaced. The bad news he shared with me is that each breaker would be $330 a pop. He said something about a chip in the breakers making it expensive. That didnt sound right to me.I called Barney as his business is located near my home and he advised there was a problem with the breakers in question, but they were around $65 not $330. Barney came out to my place the next day and it took him about 10 minutes to swap out the breakers. 3 breakers + labor was $395. The other guy was clearly trying to rip me off and Barney was honest, responsive and efficient.

My husband and I decided to completely gut and remodel our kitchen. In doing so, most of our existing kitchen electrical would need to be completely redone. After numerous, frustrating interviews with other electricians, I contacted Barney. I am very glad I did. He came out, assessed the project and gave us a clear idea of what to expect. Barney showed up promptly when he was scheduled and got right to work. When issues arose, he was very clear in communicating with me what the situation was and what options we had to address them correctly. He was very good about staying in contact with me throughout the project and even stopped by on occasions to see how other work was progressing so that he and I could coordinate next steps and completion of his work.Our kitchen looks and operates amazing! He did a great job with all our lighting requests and made sure that we had all the appropriate electrical connections for our high-end appliances and to ensure all work was completed per code for inspection. On short notice he was very responsive and came out to make a last minute adjustment that was necessary to ensure proper installation of our range.Barney has unbelievable character and is a great guy to work with. It is evident he takes a lot of pride in his work and we would highly recommend him to anyone.

I had an issue after some contractors came to my house where I did not have lights working upstairs even though I had power coming through some outlets. I had a big name electrician company spend hours trying to resolve the issue. Two circuits from the house out to a new gate, some 149 feet, and then wired new lights, power outlets, and a photo couple at the pole. One of the circuits was to feed the gate opener and another was for lights and outlets.After securing several bids, Barneys was the most reasonable. Of the three bids, another electrician was about 600 dollars higher than Barney, and Rockwall Electric gave me an estimate for four thousand six hundred dollars for exactly the same work. Barneys quote was less than half that!Well, any fool alive can make the decision to go with the lower bid, but it was more than that to me. Barney is just a down to earth guy, and his sidekick completes the pair - two dedicated guys serious about what they do and doing it right.They made arrangements for the trenching and ensured it took place the same day they laid the conduit and ran the lines, and the trench was filled in before the end of the day. Given the rains here lately, that took coordination.And the best part? It all worked the first time. Not many of the providers perform as expected the first time around. This one did. I was having several rooms lose power but my breaker wasn’t tripping. When my AC stopped blowing cold air I was panicked and I called Barney for help. He walked me through troubleshooting things and asked questions to try to help diagnose the problem. With his years of experience he was able to determine that the fault was with my utility company and that I probably was not getting proper voltage to the house. This was all over the phone!!! I called my utility company and they sent someone out. Turns out they had a hardware failure that just affected my house. Barney told me to call him back after I spoke with the utility company so I did and told him he was entirely right! I tried to pay him for his services but he refused to accept payment because the issue was with the utility company! What an outstanding business owner! He is my go-to electrician from now on!!
