Jakub and his team were amazing!! They handled the coop rigamarole like pros! My kitchen was complicated as there was really nothing there, the space was unusual so the cabinets were 100% custom. Tomek the milliner did a beautiful job with all the weird space. Jakub was responsive to my every question and focus on minor tiny things. He wants to make the customer happy and will not stop until you are there. He handled the crazy plumbing stuff in my building with grace and the surprises in the ceiling with creativity. They installed a new wood floor and brought me sample after sample until we matched the color in the living room. Finally, he is extremely detail oriented and doesnt lose anything. Very reassuring. He knows what he is doing and has the team to do it extremely well! Home solutions Exceeded my expectations which is not usually that easy to do. 👍👍

We had our UWS pre-war apartment renovated by Jakub and team in June to September 2022. He stayed on budget, and finished on time, which was incredible considering the amount of work it turned out to be.On top of that, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. Honest, responsive, easy going, and a good sense of humor.1,000/10 would recommend to anyone.The work we had done included:Gutting and rebuilding our existing bathroom, including moving all fixturesAdding an entirely new bathroom (were now a 2 bathroom unit!)Adding washer/dryer to the unit, including a new closet for itAdding and removing walls and doors to change our floor planAdding closetsRefinishing all walls, including all new molding (we had our picture frame wall moldings replaced and it looks great!)New electric in the whole unitNew flooring throughoutA built in bar with a counter top, cabinets and shelves.Basically a gut renovation except for the kitchen. Home Solutions provides thorough, expert, attentive, detailed service and exemplary craftsmanship. They completely replaced two of my bathroom ceilings, which were destroyed because of plumbing repairs - plastering, skim coating, caulking and providing two layers of paint. The workers are highly skilled, work neatly, with care and are friendly and responsive to all concerns. Owner Jacob Pernica is involved, regularly inspects progress on the jobs and goes above and beyond to make sure work is completed perfectly. Equally impressive, Jakub responds promptly to all communications, precisely and professionally - unlike other NYC contractors who cost clients for days at a time. Home Solutions is doing other work for other owners in Nour building and they are as enthusiastic as I am. Our co-op will keep Home Solutions on a preferred vendor list.

I hired Home Solutions to completely renovate my bathroom.When Jakub came to look at it I got the feeling I was dealing with some who was honest and reliable, unlike a previous contractor I had hired. He gave me a price that included all building requirements and included the possibility of water damage. And the final cost was exactly what he said it would be.His people were here every day and the work they did was high quality.He was easily reached for questions or issues and was always wiling to look at changes.Not only would I recommend him but I am planning to renovate my kitchen next year and I will hire him again.

I had a small remodeling project (replacement of bathroom sink and vanity), and contacted a host of contractors for months on end. I had no “takers” because most NYC contractors considered it not to be worth their time or energy.Crestfallen, I turned to YELP, and found HOME SOLUTIONS NYC.Not only did Jakub let me know that he could in fact DO this small (but important to me) job (which he scheduled in between other projects), but every aspect of working with him and his team (Jane in the back office and Michael, his incredibly skilled #2 the day of the job) was an absolute pleasure. My project was executed flawlessly by true professionals.Don’t waste your time with any other contractor. HOME SOLUTIONS NYC ROCKS!

We hired Home Solutions to renovate a kitchen and 1 1/2 baths. The process was much easier than we expected due largely to the great customer service and knowledge of Jakub. Jakub was tremendously helpful during the planning and execution phase. He provided detailed daily updates during the construction and the one or two problems, which were beyond anyones control, were solved very quickly by Jakub and team. Work was completed very close to budget and deadline, with very good craftsmanship. We would definitely recommend Home Solutions for anyone considering a renovation project.

Home Solutions has my highest recommendation. Jakub and his team do superb work. Several years ago, they completely renovated my kitchen and bathroom. The process was excellent – Jakub listened well, offered guidance when I needed it, interacted easily and effectively with the staff of my building, and made sure the projects were done on time and on budget. All of the members of his team were expert in their areas, and the results could not have been better. On top of all that, Jakub’s willingness to follow up about issues that come up – including, in my case, a leak that started in the apartment above mine and had nothing to do with the renovation at all – is extraordinary. I will work with him and his team whenever there is work to be done in my apartment. He—and they—work with the highest integrity are excellent in every way.

I hired Home Solutions Inc. January 2020 for a paint job, minor electrical work and floor/drywall repair. The paint job which included several different colors throughout the apartment was wonderfully finished, from walls to trims to molding! The bedroom floor looks good as new and the previously exposed TV cables are elegantly hidden behind drywall. They even created a custom bulletin board for the kitchen, hung/installed my TV and smoke detectors, as well as mounted my mirror after they completed the job - I cannot express how happy I am with the results!Jakub and his whole team were professional, reliable and a real pleasure to work with! Their attention to detail/standard of work always gave me peace of mind. A true quality company!I would highly recommend them for any job, small or large!!

Jakub and his team were always very attentive and professional. They helped me navigate the extensive paperwork (and other headaches) needed for my coop board. Furthermore, Jakub always understood what I was going for on the design front. There is no doubt that Jakub knows his trade, is good at it, and can be counted on for excellent execution --- and as any home owner knows, none of those qualities are easy to find in a contractor.

I hired Jakub to do some renovations in my apartment. He was incredibly helpful the entire way through. He sent me photos throughout the renovations to keep me updated while I was at work and to inform me of what was going on. I know I wasnt his biggest project, but he still checked in with me everyday and we met in person frequently to make sure we were on the same page (he was even willing to come very early to meet me to accommodate me leaving for work early).Jakub also came back after the project was over (and I paid in full) to touch up anything I asked, and he even installed some complicated shelves for free! He was very knowledgeable and thoughtful throughout the entire process and I love my new upgrades! The closet he re-did for me truly looks outstanding! He even went out of his way to find the exact custom closet doors I wanted, and they look amazing.I would recommend Jakub and his team to anyone wanting to upgrade their apartment, from big to small renovations!

We were extremely satisfied with the results and the experience of working with Jakub Pernica and his assistant Trevor. They understood what we wanted and worked with us to create a living space that maximized the functionality of the limited square footage we were working with. Jakub made every effort to keep us within our budget. His experience in renovating city apartments made the process relatively smooth and painless. We most appreciated their willingness to keep us in the loop and to respond to our texts, emails, and phone calls immediately. Jakub and his team are the best contractors we have ever worked with. After speaking with several contractors in the area regarding our kitchen renovation, we came across Jakub and we are so happy we decided to work with him and his team. He was the only contractor who didnt try to take advantage or overcharge us. We originally had a design in mind but after meeting with Jakub, he let us know of some issues we could potentially have with such design. We were so grateful that he told us, instead of just taking our money and letting us deal with all the problems afterwards. He communicated with us every step of the way. During the actual kitchen renovation, he supervised his team closely to ensure everything was done properly. He made the time to email us a detailed description of what was being done and what to expect throughout the following day. He and his team were extremely professional, they always showed up on time and even cleaned up at the end of each work day. They went above and beyond our expectations. We are so happy with the way our kitchen turned out. The team did an amazing job and it looks beautiful. Jakub made every effort to keep our costs down while still delivering the most excellent outcome. He is extremely efficient: he analyzes the problem, finds the best way to solve it, and then does what he says he’ll do within the promised time frame. He is also a really decent guy--seems very principled and committed to working on the customers behalf. Jakub is also extremely flexible, and was more than willing to accommodate the somewhat unusual obstacles encountered on this project.Mainly I appreciate his sense of humor and willingness to communicate regularly. Unlike some contractors, who don’t give you the time of day, Jakub sent me photos or updates at every stage of the work, which I especially appreciated since I live out of town.I almost can’t wait until I have another remodeling project! Home Solutions repaired some ceiling, wall and floor damage in my apartment. The company stands out in two respects: communication and professionalism. First, the customer service is excellent, especially from Jakub, the principal. He not only responds promptly to every request, but initiates communication to let you know how things are going and if there are any issues. I was home on and off during the job, and the workers (Matt, Trevor and Chris) are the nicest people you could have in your home. In addition, Jakub is a perfectionist. If he sees something that isnt right, he wants to fix it before you ask for it, so I ended up getting quite a few small extras. Overall, HS was a pleasure to work with.

Ive used Home Solutions Inc. for 3 different big projects over the past 6 years, such that now they have renovated every inch of our 3BR apartment, and they are phenomenal. Jakub, Trevor and the team are superb craftsmen - delivering high quality work, on time, and on/under budget - consistently. They are creative, responsive, and honest - they pass along savings from vendors and work within your budget to find beautiful solutions to your renovations needs, never pushing you to overextend or do something unnecessary. But, I think what really sets them apart from the rest is their organizational and project management skills - they are wonderfully responsive, proactive, ahead of the game, and competent with respect to the myriad of NYC building permits, and other paperwork requirements that make renovating in a coop building a severe headache. Jakub knows how to navigate all of this and gets it done on time and acccurately so to avoid delays. Finally - they arent satisfied until you are - they will come back again to tweak, correct, polish, whatever you need to ensure the finish product exceeds your expectations. Highly highly recommend!

Home Solutions is the best. There is no contest. I have owned my Coop in NYC for 30+ years. In that time I have had some renovating done, and some small work done. Like so many, I became reconciled to the fact that no one cares and no one has pride in his/her work anymore. I was wrong. They may be few and far between, but somehow I found the BEST contractor I have ever worked with. Jakub Pernica is incomparable. He is friendly, conscientious, very smart, talented, honest, and honorable. His crew is the same, as is Jane who runs his office. He completely gutted and renovated my kitchen. When I walk by it now, I am proud. It is truly a beautiful room. Jakub was very helpful re: picking out flooring, appliances and other materials. His insight and talent are well-honed. I trusted him and his crew in my home - that has NEVER been the case previously. I just cant say enough. He is the greatest, easiest-to-work-with professional I could have hoped to meet. He doesnt gouge his clients, either. He is very fair. We cant wait to have him do more work on our apartment. We know that he will turn it into a real showcase. We found Jakub and his company from a referral and reached out to him to see if hed be interested in helping us make modifications and renovate our new apartment. Even though our project was initially too small for him to take on, he agreed to take on the work.Many other contractors whom we met seemed to be extremely rigid with the agreement and scope of changes. Jakub from the start seemed extremely accommodating (and he was throughout the process as well). We needed to have the renovations done fast and he got most of the major work done so that we could move in on time.Even after we moved in, Jakub and his team were accommodating and helped finish the job around our schedule and even helped do extra work that wasnt in our contract. Hes not one who will haggle with you for every small change and he was honest and upfront on what certain changes/modifications would cost and didnt deviate from that at all. After we settled in, one or two small minor issues appeared and Jakub didnt hesitate in having his crew come in and take care of those issues.He was communicative, accommodating, patient with our constant plan changes and helpful throughout the process and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a contractor.

You think of contractor for only those big jobs....but Jakub and his staff are professional and capable of doing the little jobs too. I needed a saddle replaced between kitchen and living room and my ceramic floor re-grouted. The original mason must have really been a shoemaker. I am very pleased with the Job Danny did and would recommend Jakub and his team highly. I love going into my Kitchen now!

If I could give Jakub more than 5 stars, I would. He was recommended to us by friends to help us fix windows in our Manhattan apartment, and I can honestly say that after Jakub and his team were done, they looked better than they had looked in 10 years. Not only was their work impeccable, but his customer service and attention to detail is what really sets him apart.Since that initial job, we have called on Jakub to help us fix other things within the apartment, often on short notice, and he has never said no. He always finds a way to work it out and does it with a gracious word.Lastly, one time the materials came in under his estimate, likely due to his negotiation or research skills. As the customer, we would have never known that his cost-of-goods were less than he estimated, but he shared it with us and reduced the cost of his estimate. We were floored! Wed never met a contractor who did that. Aside from all of the objective reasons that we recommend him, this reason was the MOST important. Having someone in your home who you trust and respect--there isnt a price you can put on that!

I knew nothing about Jakub and his construction company when I asked him to bid on my apartment renovation project. The only reason I asked asked for his bid was to keep the contractor I had in mind honest. To my surprise, when I received his bid, he was well below the other guy, so I decided to interview him. Needless to say, he charmed me with his straightforward, easy going manner. So I said, f*** it, for once in my life let me listen to my instincts, and I hired him.I have dealt with many contractors in my life, as I am a civil engineer by profession, and I have to admit that even the best ones caused me some agida at some point. Not so with Jakub. First of all, hes extremely well organized; every week I received from him a detail spreadsheet with the status of every aspect of the job. Second, he remained on schedule throughout, despite the fact that deliverables and some of the subs didnt always cooperate. Third, he didnt hit me with any change orders, even though the architects plans werent always clear, and, if he wanted to, he could have taken advantage of that. Fourth and last, he always kept a positive, friendly disposition, which, I have to say, its probably one of the most important things in the midst of all the stresses inherent to major apartment renovation.I have no reservations recommending Jakub for even the most complex, high-end residential jobs. He will not disappoint.

And, not only their work--in subsequent cases of needs relatively minor (a cracked floor tile) and relatively major (a neighbors toilet leak ruining the ceiling), Jakub responded to her request for assistance promptly and with his typical good humor, providing the no-hassle, outstanding work we have come to expect from him and his crew. As a close observer of their workmanship and customer relations, I would join my wife in recommending Home Solutions most enthusiastically and without reservation.

This was full 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Kitchen etc. renovation. Im shocked!!! The way Jakub handled the whole thing is unheard of!!! Thank YOU!!! His project managers were quick to alert us when snags came up and worked with us to find alternatives. The guys (and Linda) set a high bar for themselves to make sure the job got done right. The bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, office, and living room were expertly tended to.

This company did a wonderful job of renovating my new apartment. It was a small tiny one bedroom with an ugly kitchen and terrible bathroom with ugly blue tiles. Jakob was the main guy with his excellent assistant Matthew. They gave me good advice and explained the renovation process. They also told me what would work well what would not work so well. What’s especially nice about this company is that they seem to have specialists in each area such as plumbing, electricity and doing tiles and plastering and painting. They gave me daily updates about everything that was going on and time to time they would ask my option about what I specifically wanted. They totally remade the bathroom into a white gorgeous tiled cute space that is bright and fun. The kitchen was old wooden cabinets and cheap linoleum on the floor. After they renovated it now it has really nice gray modern cabinets with the white tile black splash and a black countertop. When people see it they say it looks really cool. Oh and the floor is so much nicer with bright white Tiles. What I really respect about this company is that they really care about the job they do. The workers were polite and respectful to my wife. When the job was finished I had an entirely new bedroom for my baby girl. This company did a wonderful plastering and painting the walls and installing all good light fixtures and plumbing along with the electricity. Like I said this company has special people doing each job which is really important. Finally the price was very reasonable. Jakub gave me a full estimate at the beginning of the job and that’s what it cost me at the end of the job.They kept to a good schedule and worked hard every day. Actually the manager of the building told me they saw them working hard every day. I had the manager of the building into the apartment to help me with something and he couldn’t believe it was the same apartment from six weeks ago. If you are planning on renovating your apartment I really suggest using this company because you won’t be disappointed. They really listen to what you want and if anything is wrong they come back and fix it and do not leave until the job is done to your satisfaction. Thank you Jakub and Matthew and your whole team !!!!!!!! Oh by the way, they even did little things for me like hanging up some window blinds that I had bought at Lowe’s and some other things at no extra cost even after I was given the estimate. Please use this company for your next renovation job!!!!!!

I cannot begin to say enough good things about Jakub, Tom and the team. I had our kitchen cabinet refacing projected priced out several months before finding Home Solutions and we decided not to move forward. The reason: waiting around for a crew for hours just for the estimate with subpar communication leaving me - waiting around for people to show up.When I started searching for a new team that could handle the work, I read through reviews and found Home Solutions. Customers raved about communication and pride in their work. And through completion of our kitchen project we experienced exactly that - professionalism, on-time delivered work and diligent communication every step of the way to ensure our satisfaction. They made it easy to coordinate arrival - offering for someone to meet me and hand off keys, offering to work around our schedule, providing clear timelines of when we could expect work to be started and completed, and making incredible recommendations on design and improved functionality. I needed a full scale rehab of a close to unusable kitchen...beyond ugly and in terrible condition. And that was just the beginning.Jakub and Trevor and his team went above and beyond the call of duty...dealing with the buildings quirks, and the surprises that go with gutting a space.They were accommodating and welcoming of input (which I give often!) and I now have a glorious kitchen with counter space and a dining area that is both beautiful and welcoming.The painting of the living space was supurb as well.I will soon renovate the bathroom....with Jakub and the team, it ought to change the smallest room in my apartment. I cant recommend them highly enough..

Jakub and his team did a wonderful job with the semi-remodel of one of our bathrooms and a total remodel of our other bathroom. I chose to redesign both baths myself (i.e., without an architect or designer). That means I spent a lot of time and effort (with many mistakes along the way) figuring out not only what fixtures to get but also where fixtures would go and what parts would work with which fixture, which is a lot harder than it sounds. Both bathrooms are typical NYC affairs--tiny and therefore complicated-- where every square inch matters. Jakub and his team were great about helping me figure out those details and providing good advice. And when things didn’t turn out that well or didn’t look quite right, they were amenable to redoing things. It was obvious they wanted to do a good job. For example, when the grout around the perimeter of my retiled bathroom (tile over tile) sunk into a little channel, they readily agreed to fix it. When I noticed that something was off center, they immediately agreed to redo the placement. There were a few snafus along the way, but what was most important was the level of communication between their team and me. They tried to be as responsive as they could given their increasingly busy schedule. I highly recommend them for these reasons, and I would choose to work with them again when time and budget allows us to do further work on our apartment.

Home Solutions was the contractor on the kitchen renovation I just completed. The old cabinets and appliances were removed in record time and the installation of the new cabinets and appliances went flawlessly, The workers were efficient, knowledgeable and careful of not damaging any of the walls etc. They also left the premises extremely clean each day. Jakub is absolutely phenomenal! We had a kitchen/bathroom project in Westchester. Jakubs estimate was completely accurate. But more than that--he saved us money and agony in other ways. He was honest with us when he had questions about some of our subcontractors, he extended discounts to us on items, and most importantly, he is an amazing communicator. I think most people who have worked with contractors have struggled with communication issues (dont call back, etc.) -this was not at all true with Jakub. He was easy to contact and got back to us quickly. He is also warm and easy to talk to--I know, not necessarily a job requirement, but we found that his wonderful personality made the whole process more bearable.

When we moved to our new coop on the UWS, we needed some work to make it livable: painting throughout, installation of two light fixtures, a new radiator enclosure, and the construction of a 9 ft long bookcase with cabinets below. Jakub and crew were punctual, neat and extremely cooperative. The millwork was excellent. The project came in on time and on budget. We are extremely happy with their work and highly recommend them.

We were very happy that we hired Home Solutions to gut renovate our Manhattan condo. Jakub and his team were very honest, responsive and professional. It was our first renovation and Home Solutions was very patient with us, explaining what needed to be done and giving suggestions (for ideas, materials, stores, etc) along the way. He really went above and beyond while staying on budget! Most importantly, Jakub was not satisfied unless we were 100% happy, which was amazing and incredibly rare. Jakub is awesome! It is a true pleasure working with him. I am renovating my kitchen with him and his wonderful team. He is always on time and on budget. He also always finds time to discuss and give precious advice on different options as at times plans have to be modified. Despite his crew is very professional, one young apprentice once made a mistake, and Jakub with great class and grace gave me back two checks I had given him and told me to hold on to them until it was resolved. Never had I seen this before! Everything was swiftly resolved as Jakub ordered at his expense the new expensive panel. Most moving, was that he was also very patient and understanding with his young apprentice. This made me realize that Jakub is not only very loved by his clients, but also respected and looked up to by his workers. It tells you he is not a salesman, but he is really first class! I look forward to doing another project soon with Jakub.
