It was great working with Kevin and Andrei with Onyx electric. They upgraded our outside box and inside panel and brought our electrical system up to code. They also installed a Tesla charger and some new receptacles inside of the kitchen and one in our bedroom. They completed the job on time and are very professional and perform quality work. I have used ONYX Electric for two important electrical projects and they have been excellent to work with. The first project was installing a dedicated 240 V line for a Sauna that I was installing and also the complete replacement of the electrical panel for my home to both upgrade the panel and bring it up to code. The work was done professionally and on-time. The team stayed late and ensured the job was done as committed.The second project was the wiring of my Sauna heater. Andrei completed the work and did it with the most utmost professionalism and an eye for detail, ensuring wiring was hidden and out of sight. He checked with me frequently throughout the installation to make sure he was installing components where I wanted them.Couldn’t be happier with outcome.And the schedulers were great to work with also, they ensured that appointments were scheduled when we needed and made it happen.Can’t say enough positive things about our experience with ONYX. Matt from Onyx provided a fantastic service, very clear communication throughout the entire process. The price was fair, they showed up on time, and even worked overtime on a Friday evening to make sure the job was complete. It was a pretty big job including a full panel replacement, total rewiring of my downstairs, and a few additional outlets and Tesla charger installed. Highly recommend Onyx, we will be using them again. They have been the best contractor I have worked with amidst all the hurricane repairs I have had to get done the last few months

I called ONYX because I was having issues with my jetted tub. The customer service rep was super attentive and polite, she worked to get someone here in the same day. Within an hour I was given a call from Andrei confirming the issue and his ETA. Andrei was very professional and polite, also knowledgeable and very thorough. No hidden surprises, and was able to get the job done!

Our experience with Onyx electric was exceptional. Andrei, Sergei and Gavin were most thorough from the initial assessment and diagnostic testing right up until the job was completed. All aspects of the diagnostic testing were patiently explained by Andrei, and by process of elimination the problem was located and addressed. They were on site when they said they would be, also personable and polite. We would not hesitate to use them again.

I found Onyx Plumbing on line. They were near by (in New Port Richey) and they came by and gave me a quote on upgrading my 54 year old, 150 amp service panel to a 200 amp panel. He explained exactly what must be included to bring everything up to code. The price was in line so we scheduled the job. The technicians were very professional, they communicated every step of the process, they were punctual and they cleaned up everything when they were done. I will definitely use them again when I need an electrician.

Hurricane Milton knocked down a tree at my house. It took out the power lines from the street to the meter box outside. A real mess. I called 5 electricians for help. Some I left messages on their machines - they didnt call back. Some didnt answer the phone at all, so I called electrician number 6 - Onyx Electric. The receptionist was very nice and helpful, took my info and set an appointment for that day. Two techs showed up on time 3 hours later and within an hour they had fixed the damage cause by Milton. Its a serious understatement to say I was please. Courteous, professional, knowledgeable and complete. If I am ever in need of an electrician again, (lets hope not), I will call them. Highly recommend.

The electrician gave me a price to put in new ballasts in our fluorescent light. He said it would be less expensive than replacing the whole fixture, even though I had already bought the new fixture. However, it turned out that replacing the ballasts did not solve the problem. So he replaced the whole fixture for no additional cost.I also asked them to replace a light switch in the guest bedroom, because the lamp would not turn on unless I did it manually. However, upon replacing the switch, the lamp still would not respond to the switch. I told him not to worry about it. I figured there was probably a problem with the wiring in the wall or ceiling. But, he said he would do a little more checking. He discovered that the switch actually controlled a different plug on the other side of the bed. There was an extension cord plugged into that second plug that ran under the bed, but the lamp had apparently been plugged into the wall instead of the extension cord. It occurred to me that one of our visiting grandchildren must have unplugged the lamp from the lamp in order to charge their phone at night. The next day I must have plugged the lamp into the wall socket instead of the extension cord. Thats a lot of words to say the electrician rescued me from my stupidity thanks to his perseverence.

At the time of the visit I was told by the electrician that diagnostic charges are $150. I was not told of these charges when I made the appointment! I accepted the quote/ estimate. At the time of payment, I was told I still have to pay the diagnostic cost of $150 in addition to the repair that I was quoted! Lesson # 1: when you are making an appointment for service ask the office the question if the estimate is free or there is a diagnostic fee? Lesson # 2 ask the question, if you accept the quote and you will go a head with the service are you still have to pay the diagnostic fee in addition to the service or you only pay the diagnostic fee if you don’t go a head with the repair? Otherwise service was good and the response was promt.

I had noticed a wire that was cut in the side of my house that ran up thru the electric meter. Turns out I had no grounding to my house, which is very bad. I didn’t have an electrician that I could call and i remember seeing the Onyx Electric truck out on the road. I did a little research and saw that this company had a lot of great reviews. So I decided to give them a try. I called and got scheduled for the next day!! Matthew and Randy came to my house. I received a text telling me they were on the way. They arrived promptly at the beginning of their 2 hour window. I explained the situation and Matthew said I needed to replace the underground rods. Matthew and Randy then went to acquire the parts they needed and worked very hard to complete my job, and even put a nice pvc cover over the wiring and also extended the grounding to my water hose. I was so happy with the job and to now know I was safe and that my house was properly grounded!! Matthew was super nice and answered all my questions, and they completed the job very timely. I have put his number in my contacts for future use and will be telling my friends and neighbors about him. Thank you so much Matthew and Randy!!

From start to finish what a great experience. My home was partially rewired with a new panel. Matt and his team worked 3 very long days to get the job done. This included coming back on Saturday to finish the job, as my 1940s home threw a few curveballs at them. They used drop cloths to protect floors and furniture and cleaned up after themselves well. They were also flexible and accommodating as I have pets. At the end there was a minor hiccup and Matt and his team were dedicated not to leave until everything was running smoothly. I would recommend and will use Onyx Electric again. They are on time, professional, helpful and willing to go the extra mile for their customers.

We needed an outlet installed over our fireplace which required exploring areas in the attic that were open enough to do so, and then opening the space and running new wiring and installing the outlet. Ridiculous when I told what the issue is as part of the reservation.EDIT: added below.However, upon hearing this situation, Alex from Onyx responded quickly to resolve the issue and credit the difference. Mistakes are normal, but when a business owns up to the mistake and offers to rectify the issue and fix their SOP, that deserves a shout out for customer service.I would use them again and recommend them for the personal touch.

Surge and Kevin came by the house last week when I called ONYX electric to wire and setup a camera system at my home. I can say that they both were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. They were able to answer every question that we had and told us every step that they would need to do before starting the job. They made sure that we were fine with the price which honestly I thought was very fair since they had to run wires from one area of the house to another. The job in total only took them about an hour and a half and they made sure that the camera system was working properly before leaving for the day. I would definitely ask for either of these two gentlemen if I ever needed anything else electric done at my home. For those of you who are military affiliates you can ask for a military discount and they will give it to you. It’s always nice when a company recognizes what our young men and women did to keep this country safe. Once again if you where need an electric job done right and on the same day as the free quote then ask for Kevin and Surge they’re fantastic electricians.

Although they had no availability to send one out for days, their office angel Abby called back and shuffled some things around and got us an appt at 7:30 am. We had an issue with an outlet today at our house, that causes the entire power to our home to cut off. I called Onyx and spoke to Andrei who was very understanding, professional, and knowledgeable. He arrived within the time he gave me. Once he got to my house he diagnosed the issue within 5 minutes, then he completed the repairs in about 30 minutes and had the power back in my house on again, and repaired the outlet in that time period. I 100% recommend working with Onyx Electric you wont be disappointed.
