Hartlaub services lived up to their name and business motto on my project. Jack was a very trustworthy, friendly, knowledgeable individual who takes pride in his work. We are so thankful to have found a company with employees that we can trust to do a good job, and respect our home & pets, when we can not be home to watch over during the project. Jack was on top of all communications at the drop of a hat during the project. he would take any time needed to answer our questions even at less convenient times. Jack went above and beyond by talking with our family members in the trade and assuring them that the job will be done correctly. Our tankless water heater works VERY well and all of our plumbing looks professional and top notch! Very messy job but the crew was always careful to clean up after themselves to not track it all around our house. Huge thank you to Jack, Allen, Kyle and Nick for all of the effort put in on our project! Highly recommend!!

I called them to get a new furnace quote to replace my 38 year old Whirlpool/Heil furnace. I was provided a 3-hour visit window for the following day and they came out at the beginning of the window - awesome! The sales rep/tech was very friendly, knowledgable, and professional. We talked about all the various models of furnace units they sell; the nose-wipers, the cheap and cheerfuls, the install it and have minimal YOY costs. In the end, they were nearly $1k below thier competitors for a furnace that was 10k BTUs above the other quotes. And he walked me through the mathematics of how we needed the 100k vs 80k BTU unit given house size and zone. The price was all-in, and they even through in the yearly membership for tuneups. I went from thining this would be a house cost within the next 6 months to booking it the next day.Install was a week later. 2 techs showed up promptly at the given window for install and set about getting it done. They kicked out carpet and plastic sheeting on all areas theyd be walking and working on; they swept up and cleaned out the old space to make the new furnace space ready; clean gas piping, new PVC runs that were put through my foundation / capped the old one neatly; wired up my old Honeywell thermostat to be easily swapped out with the Ecobee thats arriving later this week. At every step they were friendly, explained what they would be doing, why, what the code was for a couple of things, and were just all around good guys.Admittedly, I figured that calling one of the big brands was going to be sterile and expensive. I am pleased to report the opposite and would recommend Mr. Holland to anyone needing work done.

We have had a furnace that has been on its last breath for quite some time, and I had spoken with Mike Hartlaub several times, and we finally pulled the plug after some safety concerns with the furnace in regards to CO leaks.The scheduling department contacted us immediately, and got us on the schedule for the week after. 👍Todays install went very well, notification prior to arrival with the install technicians photo, technicians were well dressed, friendly (even called before arriving wanting to know if I wanted him to get me a coffee) and was more concerned about protecting my house than I was, booties over their boots, laid down rugs to protect the floor. 👍Technicians arrived at 8:30am and left by 3pm, very nice clean install.I would highly recommend Hartlaub Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric, they may be a bit more expensive than some, but...You get what you pay for!Thanks Mike!

Kyle completed our plumbing inspection today and was great. Very thorough, knowledgeable and professional. We trust Hartlaub. Getting the membership was one of the best decisions weve made as homeowners.We called for after hours emergency service on a Friday evening because our sewer drain was clogged and backing up into our basement. Hartlaub called us back within minutes and we had a plumber arrive within the hour. They were professional and provided updates on the status of the service. We liked the text message informing us when our tech Angel was on his way to our house. Angel did a great job explaining everything. We really appreciate the high level of customer service.

Hartlaub has been nothing but amazing every time I use them. The ladies who are dispatchers are super friendly and understanding and the plumbers I have worked with, James and Kyle, are great too. I have needed them for a few emergency clogs and plumbing issues over the past few months and they fix the issue same day within a matter of hours. A tad expensive but its worth the quickness and quality you get. Highly recommend!

Jenny taking my call was very nice and professional. The technician Andy Gomez was also very nice, professional, and answered my questions. More importantly, Andy took the time to investigate, diagnose and fix the issue where I thought for sure that he would need to rip into my wall to fix it instead it was something much easier.Overall the labor was a little pricey (would’ve put 4.5 stars but rounded up) but it’s still better than paying $1500 + because insurance company sucks.I will use Hartlaub again and I recommend them to others. They’re like a higher end car service place that you can trust!

The plumbing from our water main had a minor leak, where the pipes and valves had some major corrosion from leaking over time. Jack from Hartlaub was very pleasant to work with, on time, and knowledgeable. I appreciated his expertise while explaining our options for the repair. My husband and I are fully satisfied with the work completed and how pleasantly affordable it was. Prior to contacting Hartlaub we had assumed the repair was going to cost us almost double what we were quoted. We won’t hesitate to contact Hartlaub in the future for any of our home repair needs. :)

We had Isaac help us today. He was great at contacting us and letting us know when he was going to arrive. He found out the problem before he got to our house and made sure he had the correct equipment when he got here. He was pleasant, professional, and very easy going with the chaos of children and pets in our house. He took the time to give us multiple quotes and fully explain the problem, different solutions, and the membership program. He also explained all of the various services you offer and I was very excited to hear that Hartlaub can actually help fix/maintain all of our major items in the house. Also, we are planning a bathroom project in the future and he told us Hartlaub could help us with that also. Isaac who came out to fix our water heater did a great job. Clean courteous and professional. Great at explaining what he was doing and very quick. Id definitely use him again.Update: the joys of Living in an old house, had to replace a pressure tank for the well. Jeff did a great job. Fast and clean. Again, great service.Updates 3 & 4: great service on the A/C replacing a contact switch. And also moving a drain location for a shower and roughing in some plumbing. Andy did a great job and worked to get it moved up in the schedule. I’m glad I got them to do it although I’m very handy around the house.

Weve used Hartlaub several times for work at our home. The work done by their service people has always exceeded our expectations. The plumbers (weve also used them for electrical work, so this comment covers that as well) always call ahead, text a photo of the technician and arrive on time with all the tools and parts needed for the work. The work is completed very professionally and to a high standard. They take steps to protect our floors and the work area. Top quality company with top quality employees. I recently had a leak in my copper pipe behind a wall and Jim from Hartlaub was sent out for an estimate and his professional advice.I will say that I have never used or even heard of Hartlaub before then, but they were recommended by another contractor friend of mine and he told me they are a small family business that does a great job. Jim was punctual, professional, kind, and finished the job quicker than expected. In addition, I asked Jim about a leaky cartridge on another faucet, he had a new one on his truck which was the exact match I needed so he took care of another issue which I would have had down the road. Jim left all of the areas he worked in very clean and I did not have to go back and clean up after he was done. I will use and recommend Hartlaub again. Jim

He came back two days later to do the work along with another technician, Jeff, who was also quite professional. Super satisfied!Weve called upon Hartlaub to help us now on two different occasions. The first time they installed a new hood and fan over our oven. Their representative took time to meet with us beforehand, review our needs and help highlight features to look for when purchasing a new hood. With their advice we purchased a hood and had it successfully installed in no time. Incredibly, their estimate was significantly lower than any other contractors bid. The installer was very pleasant and easy to work with and happily answered all our questions.Today, our needs required a plumber. Jeff was sent out and he too made a very positive impression. First we asked that he install a new kitchen faucet which he did in the shortest amount of time possible. Then, he fixed a toilet problem in an even shorter period of time! Next, he analyzed a slow running tub and leaky drain. Old pipes and drains were removed and replaced very quickly. Jeff, learning of my husbands passing only days before was exceptionally considerate and demonstrated a wonderful kindness to both me and my son.While he was here working, I was flabbergasted to receive a floral tribute of sympathy from the folks at Hartlaub. What an outstanding organization. I wasnt at all surprised to learn how much Jeff enjoys working with the Hartlaub folks and has remained with them for 18 years. Happy is the company with happy employees, their success is all but guaranteed. Put Hartlaub first on your list for assistance with plumbing, heating, cooling or electric work.

I got home Sunday to find a wet basement thanks to a water heater that rusted a hole in the bottom. I was first impressed at how soon they could have a professional here. (Monday morning!) Angel Rivera worked very efficiently and we had the replacement done within hours. He also noticed a few other things we need to address. I was impressed by his depth of knowledge and willingness to explain things in detail. He provided me a quote on the other work same day, but also was clear that it wasnt an emergency but needed to be addressed - I felt no pressure from him. I would recommend Angel from Hartlaub to anyone who could benefit from his expertise.

Although we thought the price was high, turned out to be worth it for the service we received. Water heater needed replacing less than a week before Thanksgiving. Hartlaub was able to come out on Monday. Our plumber, Andy G. discovered a dent in the new heater from Ace Hardware that we had supplied. I was able to get another delivered free from Ace within 1/2 hour (thanks Ace Hardware West Allis!) and Andy was nice enough to wait. Installation went smoothly after that.

I was very pleased with the people I worked with, including Mike and Isaac. I found them through the Yellow Pages and needed their help right away, as I had an active water leak inside my house. We had Jennifer from Hartlaub come out to give us an estimate on remodeling our basement. While we did not end up choosing Hartlaub to complete the project due to having some neighbors highly recommend someone else, I wanted to write this review based on the estimation process. When reading reviews for Hartlaub, I was unable to find ones for their remodeling side of their business - most were plumbing reviews. So, I am hoping this helps someone looking to have them come out to remodel. We were very impressed with the estimation process - Jennifer came out to take measurements of the basement and talk about a general design. She then came back a couple of weeks later with her design - this included a CAD drawing of our basement and a very organized and details proposal. She sat down with us and walked us through each of the sections of the proposal and answers our questions thoroughly. Based on this experience, we were very tempted to complete the project with Hartlaub, but ultimately went with someone who our neighbors had used and recommended. So, recognizing the power of reviews and recommendations, I hope this review helps people looking for someone to bid on a remodeling project in their home. While I cant speak to the finished product, the estimation/project proposal process was impressive.

I called Hartlaub around 8 a.m. and by 10 a.m. Jeff R. was out to look at my newly deceased hot water heater. He was incredibly thorough in explaining what likely happened, what our options were for replacement, and improvements that could be made to the setup to prevent issues like this in the future. It was not long after this time that I found myself with a new and improved, fully functional setup. I started off the day with no knowledge and a busted hot water heater and ended the morning with a brand-new hot water heater and enough knowledge to keep it going well into the future.I also mentioned we were having another company come and perform annual maintenance on our furnace the next day (planned weeks in advance) and instead he had Adam L. from Hartlaub out there within an hour to perform the service the same day as part of a maintenance agreement that basically paid for itself with discounts on todays service. Adam spent a great deal of time checking over everything and answering all of my questions fully before giving us all the all-clear.I couldnt be more thrilled with Hartlaub and their techs based on the incredible and fast service I received today.

Let me tell you something, it’s very rare that I leave good reviews, but this company definitely deserves it! They are honest, reasonable, knowledgeable, and professional. I called them to repair a tankless water heater I’m having issues with. Unfortunately they were unable to repair it at this time because the unit isn’t showing any error codes; but that doesn’t stop them from still trying until they figure it out. Andy was the technician they sent out, he is AMAZING! Thank you Hartlaub for restoring my faith in plumbing companies. There’s not many honest ones around anymore, but I’m thankful you’re one of them! Keep it up!

Hartlaub doesnt just do the big things right, they get the little things right. I will be calling them in the future - and not just for plumbing.The Big Things: We had an issue with our water heater which I hoped would be simple, but knew it would not - it was old. Hartlaub sent someone out the next day and assessed it, determining that it could be fixed, but explained the expense and risk of the fix versus new - and gave us the options. We opted for new. They managed to get it sourced and installed the same day. The service guy (Sam, who was awesome) inspected the new unit with me before leaving. Shortly afterward, I went down to clean up the mess I had made and noticed that Sam had cleaned up some of my mess. I also noticed water on the floor. I could hear a drip, but it was coming from inside the shell, not the fittings or anything from the install - I just was lucky enough to get one of the units with a small defect. I called the after-hours line on Friday evening and they responded quickly. I clarified that it wasnt an emergency and it could wait. They sent Mike (also awesome) out the next morning. He looked at it and immediately realized that it needed to be replaced. He apologized profusely, but it was the unit, not the service. All good. He was prepared to jump through a bunch of hoops to replace it immediately, but I said Monday was fine. He got the new unit ordered and came Monday (right on time) and got it replaced.The Little Things: (1) they are friendly - every single person. (2) they send a text prior to the tech arriving with a picture and little bio. (3) I think theyre all trained how to talk with people, explain options, and smile even in difficult situations. (4) they respond quickly. (5) they take responsibility and dont point fingers. (6) they care for the carpets, walls, stairs, etc. - the place was spotless when they left.Thank you!

During the holiday season discovered significant issues with basement drainpipes requiring significant rework. Hartlaub was quickest to respond and Jeff R was even quicker to schedule a visit. Chose to work with Jeff R based on comfort level and price. Great decision. Jeff R established a plan in short order and executed through completion. Great communication from Jeff R and the entire Hartlaub team throughout the project as well. Everything was explained along the way and some additional no pressure upgrade recommendations were suggested with pricing provided and we moved forward with those suggestions. We joined their Total Care Club before the work was even completed and look forward to having them provide their other services moving forward.

We had Hartlaub come out to work on a potentially chronic issue with our bathtub and do a plumbing inspection as part of a contract we signed with them. The service tech. that came out, Jeff did an excellent job of documenting everything he found as he worked on the faucet. He explained to me the several areas that could cause it to leak and why he felt it started to drip for a second time. With the work he did I am comfortable that it may not be a chronic issue.On the inspection Jeff explained what he was looking for on each device he inspected. Because of the questions I asked, he even took the time to explain how a few things work. There were a couple of items he could have easily sold me on that they needed to be repaired now. Instead, he assured me they did not have the potential to cause a major issue, but that I should only be aware they may need to repaired later.On everything from contacting the office for the appointment to the work, and attitude, of Jeff I would highly recommend Hartlaub.

I had to replace the utility basin in the laundry area and was told by two companies it would take 7-10 days to get here. I phoned Hartlaub and when they heard I couldnt do any laundry a plumber was over the next afternoon. Andy examined the problem and advised that my 90 year old pipes should be replaced when the new utility sink was installed. The estimate was reasonable and four hours later Andy had completely modernized my set-up. The work was sturdy. looked good, and gave me more room to work. I can sincerely recommend Hartlaub for its quality of work and consideration.

I always wait a few weeks after having major work done to see how a company responds during the inevitable follow-up period. Im happy to report that Hartlaub did great and was responsive for a couple things that came up in the next week or so and I have had a fantastic experience with them from start to finish. A few weeks ago I had Angel out to check out what I was hoping was a minor issue but deep down suspected much more was going on with the plumbing system in the house we bought last year. As suspected the job ended up being a bit of a emergency and Hartlaub was able to rearrange their schedules so they could do the work that week which I really appreciated. Everyone was personable and friendly and able to explain things to me in an easy to understand way and they kept me updated throughout. Over the week I had Angel, Jeff, Jack, Benny and Al and everyone was universally great.Their billing process was a little confusing when I first called but I came to appreciate it because once they quote you something the price doesnt ever change no matter what comes up. Yes, they probably are higher priced than some other operations but plumbing is expensive because its a hard job. They do seem to schedule based on the criticality of your job which I certainly benefited from but on the other hand it took nearly 2 weeks for them to come back to fix a running toilet which seemed long since I was supposed to be getting priority scheduling. In the end though I understoodd. A running toilet is not a crisis and since it was ultimately considered warranty work on the initial job they didnt charge me which I appreciated.I also had Michael out from their HVAC group to check over our furnace and he was friendly and pleasant as well. We will continue to use Hartlaub for services going forward.

As a person with limited mobility, I earnestly prayed to my Lord Jesus Christ for help when I realized I had an emergency plumbing problem. Enter HARTLAUB!FIVE PLUMBERS in my basement. Nicest most courteous ever!They introduced themselves becauseits nice to know who is in your house.They put in new sewer pipes, covering the basement steps at the very beginning of the project. So efficient, quick, friendly. One man told me he was leaving to buy a piece of wood to put under the base of my commode. Stated to be careful who you call. Some would have said the wood was soft & refused to reset the commode, but we dont leave our customers in a lurch like that. What concern for their customers!Hartlaub did not charge for extra materials to reroute piping to kitchen drain. That they actually went to the store & bought a piece of wood and replaced the soft wood under the commode still amazes me. It is rock solid and level. No extra charge! Head guy told me that when all 5 men got together for the project, they wondered why all such experienced people on one project. The owner had originally planned the job to take 2 days. When I explained my limitations, he put 5 people on the job to complete it in one day so I could have use of the things I needed, especially the commode. One of the men told me that when they saw all they had to do in 8 hrs, they understood why they were all on the same project. They completed it all in less than 7 hours. One man is a master plumber & all were top notch experienced upper level technicians working together. Thank you to my Lord for His provision.... and thanks to Hartlaub that truly has a heart!

I had used this company when I first bought my house 3 years to clean out my cast iron pipes that backed up into my bathroom. They were fantastic, efficient and thorough. 3 years later the other side of my house backed up due to the pipe underneath my house that completely broke and disintegrated. Again, they came to my rescue and were able to open my basement floors up replace the underground pipes, replace the exposed pipes and made them up to code within 4-5 days. Angel was the main contractor in charge of the whole process and I couldnt thank him enough for how courteous he was, efficient, explained exactly what needed to be done to make it correct once and for all. He didnt hide anything. It was a little shock, but he was so honest about what I needed to have done. I cant thank him enough for how thorough he was in caring for my plumbing issues.

As he was pulling it out, I started calling plumbers to see if we could get a new one installed asap; everyone was booking into next week. Then I called Hartlaub - and Im so glad I did! First they said they could have a guy come out the next morning, first thing - then they called back and asked if we had the new tub yet and if they could have their guy come and do it that day! I was so grateful that our project could stay pretty much on track, despite the expensive snag... SUPER nice guys, prompt, and they did a great job. This time, I feel confident that the job was done correctly - Im grateful for our primary contractor for being honest enough to admit he didnt feel comfortable doing it and grateful to Hartlaub for their OUTSTANDING service and sympathy to our situation.

My furnace went out on a Friday afternoon and they were over Saturday morning to install a new one. Pat called 15 minutes prior to arrival. My slow draining kitchen drains were becoming a nuisance so I called Hartlaub to schedule service call. Angel came out and diagnosed the problem right away. Snaking the pipes was not going to work, since the run was so over 50 to the main drain stack. Somewhat typical in a 70s ranch home. He gave me some options and I decided for him to return to cut the pipe near the elbow to the stack and install a secondary clean-cut connection. Angel and Beni returned as planned and did an excellent job executing the quoted work. I was shocked at the amount of sediment in the pipe once he cut it, and I have the picture to prove it. Angel really knows the plumbing business! Everything from proper pipe pitch and anchor hanger positions to the exact location of the blockage. Everything works great now. So glad I called Hartlaub!! We noticed that there was water dripping into the basement, and quickly traced it back to the kitchen sink. Hartlaub came out the very next day to fix it. Andy and Jack were extremely professional and quickly determined the cause. Since they carry everything in their truck, they were able to replace our ten/fifteen year old faucet with a brand-new one right away. While Jack installed the new faucet, Andy also checked and fixed our shower handle (which had become sticky and difficult to turn). The entire process (diagnosing the issue, choosing a new faucet, installing it, and checking a few other plumbing complaints) took just over ninety minutes. I was very pleased with how efficient, professional, and skilled Andy and Jack were.

I learned of Hartlaub through the ProReferral program at Home Depot. I prefer to support companies that have been reviewed by Home Depot, as I know they are very thorough in the qualifying process. As soon as my request was entered, I received a call from their office. We set up an appt., which had to be changed by Hartlaub, due to unforseen circumstances, but Ann Marie was very professional in explaining the situation and working with me to schedule another date. My next appt. was scheduled and I received a call from tech Jeff, advising me that he was on the way. I appreciated the heads-up! When Jeff arrived, he put shoe covers on (thoughtful) and inspected the job, which was installing a new bathroom sink fixture and a new shower fixture kit. He informed me that the P-trap for the tub, was not up to code and explained what type of problems it could create. As I had experienced problems with drainage, it made sense to have it updated as well. The tech was unable to start the job that day due to the time needed for the work, but still checked with the office and another tech to see if it was possible. We planned another day, where they could get started early and attack the job with two techs versus one. On the day of the install, three techs arrived! Eric, Angel and Issac. All wore shoe covers as they went in an out for tools, etc. They arrived at 9 a.m. and I had errands to run, but felt comfortable leaving them in the house while I was gone. I came back in the afternoon and they were wrapping up. The areas were being cleaned of any debris and even wiped down (the tub) with a cleaner. Eric went over the work that they had performed and showed me that everything was functioning. To confirm that there was no residue, or air in the system, he checked the kitchen sink faucet, which he tightened and cleared of mineral particles (thank you)! I was satisfied with the work and with the consistent communication provided by the office. Ann Marie did a great job of explaining their service program for HVAC tune-ups, service etc. I appreciate everyones professionalism regarding the service I needed. I work with pros everyday and will make sure to mention Hartlaub to my associates and customers. Thank you for a pleasurable experience!

I handle affairs for relatives that are cognitively delayed. I live in a very small community that is hours away so Milwaukee has been culture shock for me. I soon realized how fast someone will take advantage of a situation like this. After getting burned a few times, I read up on reviews and chose Hartlaub. I cannot say enough good things about them. Their workers have always been professional, patient, and understanding of the situation and the clients disability. They fix things correctly and point out issues that were done wrong by the previous maintenance workers. They make suggestions to the boys and myself on how to prevent future problems. Everything is done via phone or online, including payment. They send before and after pictures and now even send a picture of who is arriving to do the maintenance, which would be nice if I actually lived there, lol. I feel they get to the job in a reasonable time and once had an emergency, where they came the same day. We do most of our own maintenance at home, so I cannot make a judgement on cost but will say I have not had to pay to have anything redone and have never been disappointed or have had concerns about their work. For me, it all comes down to trust in their work and their employees and we have that with Hartlaub.

Isaac, our plumber, created an outstanding customer experience, starting with calling to tell us he was ahead of schedule and asked if it would be ok to come by early. He took his time, which was fine because they do not get paid by the hour. We were quoted prices from the beginning based on what he believed he had to do to fix our two clogged toilets and if it took longer than expected then we weren’t charged more. The jobs were done efficiently and our toilets are now fixed and now we both have a better understanding about how it’s all run.Overall we had a great experience and definitely would recommend Isaac and Hartlaub to anyone looking for an honest home system service company. I started getting my pluming issues fixed about a year ago. Jack Hanley has done all the work for me. I always ask for him when I need work done. He is very friendly,and does great work.
