We had Smardbuild previously install Hardie siding with stone accents and some patio construction so we already knew they are superb craftsmen with a wide range of skills. We consulted with Marek and spent some time planning how to update our hall bathroom into a modern and useful bathroom for us and guests. Because of Marek’s contacts and expertise we have a wonderful design. Then Smardbuild added some extra features! We love the lighting, the heated floor, the usefulness and ambiance!They also upgraded the trim and doors in the hallway; now the doors fit correctly and the whole hallway looks new. Note that all of this kind of work will be dusty. The remodel crew was clean and careful; the final cleaning crew were superb - we never found any dust!We are over the moon happy!

Marek and the Smardbuild team did a beautiful job on our siding project! We replaced our 36 year old cedar siding with James Hardie plank siding. New soffits, fascias, frieze boards and gutters were also part of the work. Their attention to detail exceeded our expectations. We chose to go with Marek and the Smardbuild team because they were confident they could execute on our unique vision and could provide all of the services needed for a complete exterior renovation.My only regret is not finding Smardbuild sooner. Following a complete window replacement, we had the following work done: Replaced roof, James Hardie siding, gutters, soffit, fascia, removal of a stone retaining wall, brick replacement, painted brick to match siding, a custom balcony, new front entry door with a custom rain screen accent wall and various other finishing details.Aside from the competitive pricing, there was excellent communication, professional workers who worked quickly and efficiently, a clean jobsite at the end of each day with quality craftsmanship. All pricing and budget was discussed up front, so there were no surprises.As a result, we have one of the most stunning houses in the neighborhood. We hired Marek and his team to replace all the siding with James Hardie siding. They did a superb job. I cant say enough good things about them. They communicated well, showed up when they said and worked extremely hard and efficiently. The project was completed on time and within budget. Even though we had a couple of unexpected issues (can be expected on a job this size), they were handled immediately and professionally. My home is over 130 years old, and I knew the work would be highly detailed and complex so I needed to use someone I could completely trust to do the job correctly. We worked with Smardbuild on replacing our entire siding. I had met numerous people before Mark that were unable to assist with my problem. My experience with Smardbuild Constuctions was very positive from my initial meeting with Mark when he came to assess the scope of the repair project to the proposal submission to their finishing the work. Mark and his brother did the work on my house personally. Both of them are very professional and friendly. It was easy to work with them and come to the decisions with their help. They did a very good job, cleaned the site and even went above and beyond doing few quick fixes on couple of my doors. When I mentioned in passing that I had slight problems with the doors, they said: Let us see and in few minutes the problems on the doors were corrected free of charge! I hired Smardbuild to do a fairly difficult, 100% tear off and replacement of all the house trim and siding, and I am sitting here writing this review happy as a clam.From the bidding till competition, Mark and his crew were an pleasure to work with. Nothing ambiguous came up later.Marks crew doesnt just slap up siding. They take a lot of time to make sure their work is precise. They picked up all the debris each and every night when they left, leaving our yard almost cleaner than when they started.Marek answer all our questions about the different kinds of siding and how the installation of our Hardie board would be done. Each member of the crew that worked on my house had between 14 and 20 years of experience installing James Hardie siding. They always took time to keep me informed of the progress and answer any of our questions. They started the project on time and finished within the 2 week time frame they quoted.I met Mark, the owner of Smardbuild, about 3 years before he actually worked on my house. Smardbuild installed James Hardie siding on a house next to my friends house and it looked great when they were finished. I called him out for a quote but unfortunately,, a couple of things came up during that time and I had to postpone my siding project for 3 years. Mark didn’t forget about me and would reach out to me on occasion to see how I was doing and see if I was still interested in having his company do my siding project. When I finally decided to do the siding project he was my first call and I never looked back. Our house looks beautiful and my wife and I are extremely happy with the makeover that Smardbuild performed.

We went with Hardie soffits and fascia since we had prior issues with carpenter bees drilling holes in our old, wooden soffits. In my opinion Smardbuild is the best with Hardie products. Everything looks great. It took us a while to finally settle on a color for the siding and Smardbuild was quite patient with our process. After so many frustrating encounters with the other service providers attempting to obtain bids, it was heartening to get someone to pay attention and be inclined to assist us. My husband was the first to meet the Smardbuild representatives, and she immediately felt comfortable with them. Their whole team is receptive and always communicates whats heading on, and they are just really nice and professional people. I am overjoyed with our fresh transitional home design. They made a concerted effort to collaborate with us and our level of spending - a HUGE plus in this competitive environment - and managed to finish rapidly! There were no surprises or additional costs at the end, and we could not have been happier with our newly designed space. We have some other action plans for home improvements and will undoubtedly use them again.

Smardbuild Construction was very professional in their dealings with me in removing and replacing our sliding patio door. They were on time in coming to the house and finished on time as well. I watched them to make sure they knew what they were doing (I dont want just anyone working on my home) and they answered my questions accurately and confidently.To my surprise, Mark offered to help me finish installing three 4 x 4 x 8 posts on my pergola. (They also build decks). He cut and installed the braces for the corner posts as well at no charge.

Like every other reviewer, I had an excellent experience with Smardbuild. Siding my home with James Hardie Board was a significant investment. As such, I spent a lot of time researching contractors. I ended up meeting with and receiving estimates from 5 different ones. Cost-wise, Smardbuilds estimate was in the middle of the pack which is fine because the lower ones raise concerns of job quality or unexpected up-charges do to unforeseen problems with the install. As for the higher estimates, they were approximately 20% more due to the fact that they were from general contractors that subcontract the work out but still get paid even though they arent doing the work. I can see using a general for a major renovation which would require numerous trades but not for a siding, facia and gutter job only.As for the job itself, I couldnt have asked for a better experience. When I first met with the owner Marek for the estimate, he was patient, thorough and explained all of the siding options to me. The estimate itself was extremely detailed and included less expensive vinyl siding as an option. After agreeing to the estimate the project began approximately 6 weeks later. Throughout the installation the crew was professional and courteous, arriving at 7:30 each day and ended each day only after cleaning up the job site of debris and nails. The crew, consisting of Andrew and Peter, answered any questions that I had during the installation showed me the nuances specific to the installation of the Hardie board. Once the siding was installed the crew responsible for the gutters came with in a day or two and completed that job within the day.As for the finished product, my wife and I couldnt be more happy and impressed with the quality of the product and the craftsmanship of the install. Even the caulk beads are perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend Smardbuild to anyone in need of a honest contractor that seemingly prides himself in the craftsmanship in the work performed and pays attention to even the smallest detail.Smardbuild will be my first, and possibly the only, phone call for any remodeling or renovation jobs in the future. Thats how pleased I am with result.

They had the best rates among the 3 companies that I received quotes from but I had already decided to go with them because they are reputable. Basically the whole siding project was completed on time (except for weather delays), on budget, no hidden costs, quality work, I have no problems recommending them.

After researching for weeks for companies who replace siding for the house we have just bought and we have stumbled across Smardbuild, since they were local we were willing to give them a try. The first meeting with Mark was brief, he came up with an estimate that was well within out budget and explained to us what the process will look like, I must say I was a bit skeptical about stripping the old siding to install new (we went with fiber cement siding) and the outcome was fantastic!
