Our patio was original to the home (1968), cracked, and sinking/sloping toward the foundation by about 4 inches. We knew we needed more than just concrete, we needed someone who could fix a bigger problem. We had no recommendations and didnt know who to call. By chance, I saw a VLA truck driving down the street. VLA has grading in the name and a google search showed a bunch of 5 star reviews, so with trepidation we took a chance. I am SO glad we called VLA. From the start they were friendly and professional. Saul came out and we made a few design changes (widened a sidewalk, curved some edges) from the original patio. The estimate was prompt and very reasonable. Because it was early spring the job had about a 5 week lead time, and that date never changed. We had good communication with Consuelo leading up to the start date. Saul and his men worked efficiently. This review is a little late, but if Im remembering correctly, they were finished in 2.5 days - tear out, grading, pouring and clean up. And while our new patio is beautifuly done, and I know the grading is right because our sump pump runs so much less even this super rainy summer (!), one of the things that impressed me most was the care Saul took in making our whole back patio nicer than before. Saul suggested burying two of our gutters under the new sidewalk instead of having them drain onto it - which was great. The guys took so much care while working around our flower beds and replaced about 40 decorative rocks neatly all along the new patio. And they even saved the dirt they took from the two flower beds they removed and disposed of for us and put down grass seed in the bare spots!! I only wish I had before pics to show the change. Honestly one of the best contracting experiences Ive ever had - VLA exceeded all of my expectations.

Excellent service! I contracted VLA for a major project. They replaced the concrete for my patio, driveway, sidewalk and porch. They replaced my entire culvert. They also installed new window wells. All of their work was to ensure proper grading away from my house to prevent water in my basement and to prevent flooding due to my collapsed culvert. The office kept me updated throughout the entire project and the crew was top notch, professional and courteous. I shopped around many companies and VLA came back with the best prices. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing concrete or grading work. The quality of service and work are excellent.

VLA Grading extended a driveway in two areas at one of our properties to add parking area and make sure that all water drains completely away from the home. They also buried a downspout drain to drain out in the yard.Their work was of the highest level. My friend, who is a retired concrete contractor, commented on the high level skills this crew displayed! The entire crew worked very well together. The clean-up was also exceptional. Working with a lot of different trades, I found this really refreshing that I didn’t have to come in behind them to clean up.Overall it was a great experience and I will use VLA Grading for all future projects and highly recommend them to others!

We were extremely happy with our experience with Saul and VLA Grading. They were very responsive regarding setting up a visit and sending us a quote and showed up when they said they would. We ended up increasing our scope of work due to their compeitive pricing and had our walkway and driveway redone as well as our front yard regraded. The work was done very quickly and they went above and beyond on many items; for example to get our driveway step up to our door to code, we had to raise the height of the driveway, which required pulling up a portion of our patio pavers and relaying them, the team did an amazing job creating a seamless transition with precision cuts. They also helped fix a downspout on the back of our house. They left the yard looking amazing. I would highlighy recommend their services.

We had VLA come in and repair part of our driveway that the roofing company broke after delivering shingles a few years earlier. They also noticed my sidewalk needed attention and we did that as well. I had expectations that they exceeded to the moon! VLA did a careful, multi-step job waterproofing our exterior basement foundation walls, grading, then pouring a new patio. They also replaced sidewalk - grading a new walkway away from the house. VLA has completed another fantastic project for us. This time it was a very large driveway, sidewalk/patio area and camper pad. Over 85 yards of concrete with decorative stamping and color on the border of the 110 driveway and the patio/sidewalk area. This was a reasonably complicated job as it required raising the driveway over twelve inches, installing the new driveway then grading appropriately and planting grass all around . It turned out beautiful. I will definitely contact them for our next project.

We just purchased a home that was in desperate need of a new driveway! The job was small for most companies, but Saul quoted a fair price and produced an excellent end result. We were very happy with his professionalism and promptness as well. I would definitely recommend VLA.By way of update 8 months after my first post... I have used Sauls crew 3 times now for various jobs and they continue to be absolutely amazing. I feel so lucky to have found VLA. VLA Grading provided us with new steps that attach to our existing concrete porch and repaired some some corners that had spalled off. Saul was very responsive and was able to come out for an estimate the same day I called. We could not be happier with the work they did for the price. Bonus: they were even able to salvage our railings without completely removing them from the existing porch. Excellent job!

I used VLA Grading for a project that included removal/replacement of a 30x3 sidewalk, pouring a new 24x4 sidewalk and a new 14x18 concrete pad.Saul and his 3 person crew showed up on time the day promised and did the demo, soil removal, set the forms and poured/finished the concrete work all in one day. All the guys were super nice, neat and were concerned about minimizing damage to exisiting landscaping. All the concrete looks great, is properly pitched and really well finished. The next morning a 2 man crew came out and removed the forms and filled in the voids with top soil. They also put down additional top soil where heavy equipment tore up the lawn. These areas were also graded to match the existing lawn and grass seed and straw mesh mulch was laid to cover the bare spots.Id certainly use Saul again and I highly recommend VLA Grading to anyone that has a concrete project.
