When my wife and I finally arrived at the culmination of a 15 year plan to have a custom home built we did not anticipate it coinciding with a pandemic. However, due to our decision to hire Jason the process went smooth and exceeded our expectations.Our basis for deciding Jason would be the builder for our project was on the person he is first and foremost. While I am not a tradesman, I have worked in the construction industry for 20 years and the knowledge, personality, and temperament of an individual are the most vital components of a successful project manager let alone a business owner. Jasons performance over the course of the project confirmed our evaluation during the interviewing and quoting process.We broke ground in January of 2020 and moved in before the end of September. Due to COVID-19 we experienced material and manpower shortages, but the organization, planning, and intuition Jason used to manage the project ensured that the schedule was maintained and never fell behind. Between the texts and phone calls we bombarded him with he was always happy to hear from us and patiently listened and answered our questions and concerns.The quality and conscientiousness of his subcontractors is excellent and well above average. No request was too difficult and pricing for changes were more than fair. The resources he utilizes to guide customers through the budget and design phases are fun to interact with and offer insights into newer construction features while keeping budgetary constraints in mind.The final product provided us the perfect home we have always desired. Not only were we able to finish within budget, but we were able to include all initially desired features in addition to new ones that Jason and his team were able to custom match to our personalities.We would not hesitate to use Jason again nor would we hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking to have the perfect home building experience.

Ive sold real estate for 21 years in Louisville. I had a 5-star experience recommending Jason to my clients who built with him in Sanctuary Bluff. His workmanship and communication are impeccable. It was a pleasure to work with someone with such integrity who took full ownership of the process, while working well with a Buyers agent. He was unflappable in a year full of COVID-related delays and changing supply costs---total professional, and I recommend him unequivocally.

When the time to downsize finally arrived, we had a specific vision for our new custom built home. I was impressed with the Orthober Homes we saw in several Homearama Shows. I spoke to 3 owners of Orthober homes and received glowing reviews of Jason and their building experience. So we decided to contact Jason to see if he could create what we desired.From our first meeting to the closing, Jason demonstrated that he is not only a master craftsman, but a true gentleman.Jasons architect created exactly the floor plan we desired and Jason enabled us to select every detail as the home was constructed. He was flexible and implemented any changes/upgrades we desired. Quality details are throughout the house. Jason builds custom homes.We are impressed by the long-standing relationships Jason has with all of his sub-contractors and vendors. They were all extremely professional and enjoyable to work with.We thought the building process would be arduous and stressful. However, Jason and his team made it thoroughly enjoyable. We were kept in the loop during the entire process. Jason brought the project in on time and on budget. And now we have the exact home we dreamt of for years.We highly recommend Orthober Custom Homes.

Jason is the best builder I have worked with on new construction. He is transparent, reliable and responsive to any questions. His subcontractors are responsive and helpful. If I ever build again, I will be calling him.

My wife and I relocated from south Florida to be nearer our children. We considered building but we found an Orthober Homes Spec that very closely matched our wish list. We were delighted to find this smaller (2500 sq ft) high quality with great “fit and finish” walkout in Catalpa Farms. The homes in Catalpa farms are on city sized lots but with grand vistas due to the ample green space in this Conservation Development. With 1700 sq ft on the main level, 3 beds and 3 baths, dramatic 12’ ceilings in the great room, it has the luxurious feel of an estate home without 4000 sq ft and an estate lawn to take care of. Perfect for retirees! Jason and his team worked with us to add custom bookcases in the great room, a perfect custom wall of bookcases with built-in desk for my writer wife, and then screened in the covered porch off of the great room. All this shortly after we moved in. Jason made all this happen in a reasonable time with minimum disruption and all during a pandemic! A refreshing change from the “take it or leave it” attitude we found with the corporate builders.
