John Shim is the man! Our family had somewhat of an emergency and he came super fast on a Saturday and fixed the piping in a very short amount of time. The price was also great compared to several other quotes I received, you know youre not getting ripped off or pressured to do any other unnecessary services. John was also courteous and clean when entering the house. Cant thank him enough, will definitely be calling again for future repairs. Thank you John!

I called SJ because there was a gas leak detected after termite fumigation, and the gas company would not restore service until it was fixed. They came out on a Saturday to repair a subterranean pipe spending the better part of five hours making sure all was fixed. Excellent service and great attitude. They showed me every step of the repair. I’m sure I could find someone who is cheaper, but I don’t think I could find anyone as professional and trustworthy.

Following two significant leaks, my wife and I employed John to upgrade the old copper pipes to PEX within our house and also to replace the main water line of our homes plumbing system. John not only replaced the faucets in the powder room and kitchen but also relocated my laundry gas line and replaced my childrens toilet. He is extremely skilled in his work and exceeded expectations.

He explained at every step of the way what was being done and why. There was an issue with the gate valve of the water heater. Edward explained the issue and why it had to replaced. We needed a gas line to our pool heater replaced. SoCal Gas Company checked for a gas leak and said call a plumber to do the repair. We looked on Yelp and found S J Plumbing in Los Alamitos. Mr. John Shim gave us a fair bid and came as promised to do the work. The whole team of plumbers were prompt, knowledgeable, and very respectful of our property. While our job was a bit unusual, since it required running new piping from the gas meter through our attic and over to our pool house, the lead person (Edward) courteously answered all of our questions. He and his team executed the work as promised and on time. Also Mr. John Shim came to our house to check the work each day and make sure that we were happy with the work. We will use S J Plumbing for any future drain issues, AC/heating or other piping/plumbing installations. We highly recommend this company.

I had an excellent experience with SJ Plumbing. They were incredibly responsive and professional when I called them about a leak in the downstairs bathroom ceiling. John arrived promptly, assessed the situation, and diagnosed that the upstairs toilet was leaking to the downstairs bathroom because the wax ring and flange weren’t properly seated or aligned with the bottom of the toilet. John efficiently fixed the problem. He also put in new bolts on the toilet when he noticed there weren’t any bolts holding it down, which was how the problem started at in the first place. SJ Plumbing work was top-notch, left no mess behind, plus it was a fair and reasonable price. I was particularly impressed with John being courteous and knowledgeable and also took the time to explain the problem and the repair process. I highly recommend SJ Plumbing for their expertise, reliability, and outstanding service. They saved the day and my bathroom ceiling!

After completing his 1st job with me, I called him back to do my drainage for the walk in shower, of course awesome work! I will refer John to families and friends. Dont be too cheap with John, he is worth your money. In fact, I tipped him.

John is outstanding. There was a leak and the insurance company said it could be something under the slab. We were terrified. I found him on the internet, he gave me a time, said he would give a free estimate, and shows up and in 5 min flat, diagnoses the problem. Its not the slab or pipes under it. Its the bathtub and it needs new caulking. Period. No charge. Didnt make up anything. Highly professional. Very honest.
