When there was a mix-up with the city, they immediately took action to make it right for us. Good Energy did a great job installing all 30 of our solar panels in time for our move into our newly constructed house and did a great job answering all our questions along the way. Our new solar system has worked without even the slightest hiccup since installation -- despite five major electrical storms since (including a direct lightning strike 50 feet from our house) -- and is more than sufficiently powerful to meet all our needs. Our Sep electricity bill was 50 cents, and right now it looks like we may be running a surplus of electricity (which means a net credit on our bill) for October. Good Energy even sent someone to our house to help us get our Enphase online monitoring system up and running when fiber optic Internet capability, newly-installed in our rural neighborhood, was initially unstable. Recently, my service line and weatherhead were damaged due to a severe storm. From the first phone call to the office, I believed this was a group of people who truly cared about their customers and each other. Even though I had never used Good Energy Solutions before, they had someone over to my house the following day. An electrician and an office person both phoned to explain the work which would be completed. Both of the electricians who were here worked diligently and truly knew their craft. They were also kind and ensured I was pleased with the work. The person at the office also called the utility company when the electricians were finished, so they could reconnect my power. I recently purchased a home in Lawrence and had a fan that the light bulb wasn’t working and the housing had broken. I investigated Good Energy Solutions and their ratings were great so called them. Amy runs their office and is great! She called or texted me when they were able to analyze my electrical issue and they came by my home the next day! The Team inspected my original fan and the wiring was old and actually melted the light bulb casing (fire hazard). They instructed me what I needed to repair this and the cost. My ceilings are vaulted so additional work and parts were needed. The following week after all parts were in, they installed a new fan within an hour! The Team was very professional and nice! Amy is outstanding at keeping you informed of your project and just “perfect “ at her job and interacting with people! Highly recommend them. My daughter is contacting them for their electrical needs in their home.

We used Good Energy Solutions for a rooftop solar installation with battery backup (all SunPower). We did look at some other installers and other systems, but while they were slightly cheaper they were mixed manufacturers instead of all from one company. Also Good Energy Solutions had good reviews, so we chose them.It was a few months between agreeing on the system and getting it installed. However that was expected both from prior research I had done and what the salesperson had told me. The week of install they were prompt and did the best they could despite weather not cooperating. They communicated well and answered any questions we had.When it was time to do testing with the power company and go live, we found out the meter wasnt accessible due to a fence. We fixed that and had them reschedule quickly. The system has been live a couple months now and has already covered a brief power outage. Power output is about as expected so far.Overall it was a good experience from sale to install.

We had spoken with another local solar company prior to Good Energy, and they were much more interested in selling to us than answering our questions.However, Good Energy answered all of our questions without pressure and made us feel incredibly comfortable with our decision. They even suggested we install a slightly smaller solar panel system because it would fit our needs better, despite the fact this meant a smaller sale for them. We choose GES to install our solar array in 2018. They were higher priced than the other local options but we wanted the best quality system and service since we hope to stay in our home and use the panels as long as they last. Good Energy did not disappoint. From initial consultation through design, installation, and jumping through all the regulatory hoops put up by the utility to get our system on the grid, they were on top of everything, on schedule, and A+ communication. I had a few questions after everything was done and they always got back to me promptly. I also appreciate that they are vocal advocates for renewable energy rights in Kansas, something that unfortunately we have to continue to fight to maintain.We also hired them to do some electrical work. I was surprised they were interested in such a small job, but their bid was very competitive and the work was done with high quality by an experienced electrician. We did have one issue with the work due to confusion about what was needed. When I contacted JJ by email on a Sunday night, he got back to me immediately, and came out personally the next day and fixed the problem. There was no quibbling about whether the mistake was our fault or the electricians; they just took responsibility and made it right. I wish this was the way all contractors do business - what a refreshing experience to be able to hire someone who takes pride in their work and wants to do the right thing, changing what could have been a major headache into a non-issue. Plus theyre all just really nice guys. Ill definitely be using their electrical services again in the future.

I have been totally satisfied with the company, with my 10kW ground-mounted array being completed earlier than promised and on-budget. I hired Good Energy Solutions to install a PV system on our home with SunPower solar panels. I was the first to install solar in my neighborhood and they were very helpful getting HOA approval with an aesthetically pleasing system design.After nearly 7 months I’m pleased to report that the performance of our solar panels have been good since our system was activated in the fall of 2021. The panels have withstood Kansas weather including high winds, hail and snow and have generated 9,569 kWh of electricity which is 102% of our home usage. That includes the electricity to charge an electric vehicle. Other than the standard charge to remain connected to the grid, we have effectively erased our electric bill as well as the bill to fuel one of our cars! Our home value has increased significantly as a result of the solar project.

Good energy solutions blew that other company out of the water. The other company told me how they were going to do it with very little detail and pressured me to sign an agreement that day.I felt like good energy solutions company values aligned with the values of the company that I work for and I appreciated that. It helped me feel comfortable working with them.Once I signed the contract there were a few months of lag time to get the panels installed but that was expected and they were very upfront about that.My panels were installed at the end of January so Ive had them for about 6 months and my energy bills are running somewhere between $13-26 a month on an all electric house. I have been researching and interviewing solar installation companies for over a month. I have meticulously compiled quotes into a spreadsheet to compare all of my options. Frustrated hat nothing felt quite right, I then contacted GES as they had been referred by another contractor who stated. If you dont use us, use them. I initially reached out via social media over the weekend and was surprised to get a response over the weekend.The office got me in touch with Eric Evans who was happy to come out and give a quote. With my suggestion, Eric accommodated a virtual appointment, going over all of the options and data points. What I liked about that process was that GES gave two solar options and let me decide what was best for us.Although I didnt make a decision right away, Eric was available to answer additional questions and to provide new options so I could make an educated decision. Throughout the whole process, Eric never disparaged a competitor, rather promoted the solutions of GES. When we were close to make a decision but wanted information on batteries, Eric provided not one but three options priced out with data sheets to evaluate. Ultimately GES was not the cheapest option, but I believe provided a good value with a company that I can trust that will be around for years to come to handle any upgrades or warranty matters.I look forward to updating this review as the process proceeds.

There was miscommunication regarding the scope of work; I understood that they would install 2 240volt outlets in my garage for future use, yet when the outlets werent on the plan which was filed with the City for the permit, it was well have to pull another permit for that.... Now, without the outlets in the garage, I get no (or slow) responses to emails asking whether my Evergy rebate got filed, and no final inspection has been scheduled, although I asked for it days ago... I, today, scheduled with the City of Lees Summit, the final inspection, and notified GES of the date/time. I plan to have the final inspections done and Evergy rebate received (Good Energy Solutions assured me that I would receive one) prior to sending them the final payment for the project. The panels are beautiful and unobtrusive, and producing right at where we wanted them to be. GES has been very responsive and caring in their interactions, and a 25-yr warranty is unheard of!
