Jim is a wonderful person with very kind nature and great value. My water heater was not turned on when I got home following a two-month stay abroad. It is fairly new, and I was certain that all it needed to start was for the pilot to ignite, but I didnt want to take any chances, so I looked for an expert to handle it. After making several calls, two professionals were prepared to come home at twice the usual rate because it was after hours. Jim answered the phone when I eventually called this establishment. He spoke with me for more than five minutes as he described the scenario, providing step-by-step instructions on how to begin it and assuring me that there was no need to fear or become anxious. I was able to turn it on, allowing my entire family to take a much-needed shower. While I have no problem with other professionals acting opportunistically, Jim shown a wonderful helping human nature and chose to undertake the good act, which speaks highly of him. If I ever needed any installation or repair work in the future, I would without a doubt contact him.

Jim is a A+++++++HE IS A LIFESAVER.My water heater was not lit anymore.It was mid evening and I called Express Plumbing to come check it out when he had time. Jim was already in the middle of other jobs and this got back to me in 15 mins. He diagnosed the problem while helping another customer and got my water heater back on in less than 5 minutes. He educated me throughout the whole process and gave me the confidence in what I should be able to do if face with this issue again. A class act and outstanding plumber. This is our 3rd time using James for plumbing issues. (Previously hose bib and shutoff replacement, and water heater replacement.) During the recent subzero weather, one of our internal water pipes froze and broke. Luckily someone was home to turn main water shut-off off before too much damage. Living without running water isnt fun. Once we called James he helped to locate the break and get running water restored again. (Like finding a needle in a haystack) He was there for us, prioritized our job, and water was restored with minimal drywall to be repaired. We are gratefull for his experience, knowledge, and fair price.

Can’t say enough about Jim. Called him to come out for an emergency plumbing repair and although he was booked up for the evening, guided me to fix it myself. So instead of having no water for the rest of the day and half of the day after, we were back in business no more than 1-2 hrs later. Needless to say, we saved quite a bit of money in the process. I was extremely surprised by this encounter. He has made me a customer for life based on this experience alone. 11/10 no question. This is how service is supposed to be.

We have dealt with Jim Grier over several years for various plumbing needs in our 45 year old house.He is the best plumber we have ever hired. He’s honest and fixes whatever the problem area is. If he needs a specialty item to finish, he returns promptly. I called Jim the owner of Xpress Plumbing and was able to schedule my water heater install same day. He responded by text within 15 minutes which was amazing and worked with me when I had a new water heater delivered. His price was nearly the same but I had a local supplier contact. Jim was meticulous with the install adding additional new copper fittings especially since I added a larger sized tank versus the original. He walked me through the install and explained how to flush the system and also expansion tank to prolong the life of both. I’d recommend his services to friends and family. Very personable guy who was also reasonably priced and much lower by hundreds of dollars to the two competitors bids I received. Great work for an even better price!

The only 24 hour emergency plumbing place I could get to answer the phone! Had a bit of a flooding emergency in a new home over the Christmas holiday. Jim came right away, fixed what he could then stayed until his drain referral came to help explain the situation, then helped me get referrals for carpet restoring companies. Good service is hard to find, and excellent service is even more difficult. CALL THIS COMPANY now - you will not be sorry. No guarantees, but I received same-day service. They worked with me through a difficult situation involving a rental, were patient, coordinated, professional, and communicated through text, sending me photos as I could not be present during the repair. Not only did they perform the repair, but fixed other small issues that were not yet urgent - saving me money in the long run! Very reasonable prices!!!

We had very inconsistent water temperature in the shower and determined that one of our two water heaters was not working. Called Express Plumbing and Jim was able to diagnose the problem, find us a new control valve (for a 17 year old unit) and replace it within two days. Jim did a fantastic job installing our new gas line for our range and grill. He scheduled the estimate and service very quickly. He was also less than half the price of the three other quotes that we received from Mr. Rooter, Maplewood Plumbing, and SC Hosack Plumbing; you can be extremely confident hes not ripping you off. Im not familiar with how gas piping should be installed but the STL County inspector and my friend who used to build houses both said it looked like a great, clean, and safe installation!
