It’s the dawn of a new day, running on new heat pumps at my Dover, NH house today. What a phenomenal Multi-Zone Heat Pump installation by Proactive Comfort! I researched and received quotes from several companies before deciding to move forward with Proactive Comfort. They had the best price, best service, and I’m convinced the best quality of installation. The sales representative, Mark Toto, was great to work with, being attentive, knowledgeable, and easily reachable during the quotation and decision process. The lead installer, Jesse Santiago, was a expert and easy to work with, getting everything installed to plan, answering questions, and being open to what I needed. I’m looking forward to complete comfort in the summer and winter in my cape house in the decades ahead in addition to being able to bring my house dependence off the high prices of oil and gas.

Bill from Proactive Comfort was the first sales technician out to my house to check out what we wanted, and gave a competitive quote just a few days later. The price was good and the design met our specifications.The install took a few days longer than they anticipated, but I didn’t mind. The workmanship of the installers- Eric, Scott and Chris (maybe one or two others) was evident the entire time. In the end, they delivered a system that worked just like I hoped.Theresa from the office did a great job coordinating the details of the permits and keeping me informed of the work crews day-to-day schedule.All in all we’re very happy with proactive comfort and recommend them highly.

Called Proactive they came out this same day found the problem and fixed it for us without additional money costs. We also received fair water heater and furnace prices. Not a terrible experience overall. The plumber came out for the initial $89 service visit, was very nice and professional, and even helped me learn a thing or two I didnt know about our toilet. $89 well spent I suppose. That said, the repair job ended up being that the flapper needed to be replaced, which they wanted to charge us about an additional $350 to complete. He even suggested potential options should be that we replace the entire toilet for nearly $850... The plumber was saying it could wind up being a pretty complex job. I ended up ordering the flapper part on Amazon for $30 that arrived the next day and fixed it myself in a couple of minutes. Now, there are a lot more complex jobs than fixing toilet parts, I get that. I would still recommend them as a general service as they were very polite and professional. However, my experience felt like pretty significant price gouging and Id just caution others to make sure youre getting a decent value when using them. If its $350 to repair a toilet flapper, I cant imagine what a larger job would cost.

Had a great experience with Proactive! I needed to get a quote for servicing and repairing my boiler ASAP in response to a home inspection report from the folks buying our house. Not only were Proactive the only business willing to give me a general quote over the phone, they reached out to me after hours that same night with a more specific quote after checking with one of their technicians AND they were able to come out and look at it the very next day. Thank you to Emily for being so proactive in helping us!The technician Bill was great. He explained everything clearly and made sure I knew what I was signing on for and where he could potentially save me money. In the end, Bill was able to save us over $450 by doing some preventative maintenance and got our boiler in tip-top shape for our buyers. I appreciated his patient explanation of all the work he did and his tolerance for our barky German Shepherd! Thank you Bill!10/10 would recommend. We plan to keep working with Proactive after we move!

Honestly, I can’t say enough about how great an experience I had with Proactive Comfort. From the beginning, they returned my call quickly to set up an appointment. Sent me an email confirmation, sent email when technician was on his way. In fact the technician called me when he was a few minutes away. Once here, Luke was polite, informative and answered all my questions. We just moved into this house and have needed more repairs then we anticipated and this by far was one of the best experiences!

Wow! What a delight doing business with Proactive Comfort. It was easy to schedule and very reasonably priced. Eric was our plumber. He was professional, efficient, neat and gave us good advice. He removed an ancient water filter, replaced the bathtub drain stopper (overflow trip lever) and the corroded faucet. We’ll also consider the mini split maintenance program. Excellent company for heating and plumbing.Eric wore a face mask, which we appreciated because we have medically vulnerable family members.

Basically for years weve used Harry Wells and sons. My parents use them for my God at least 50 years before they move to Florida. So when we bought our condo I used them for routine maintenance that sort of thing in other words they check the air conditioning and the heating. The old system was probably almost 30 years old and finally as they say bit the big one. Actually had Wells replace the entire heating as well as air conditioning. Maintenance contract with them that basically was $200 a year and that covered one heating visit and one air conditioning visit. Heating was in the fall air conditioning was obviously in the spring. Have renew the contract each spring pay them the $200 and theyd take care of the fall in the upcoming spring. About a couple of years ago pro comfort bought them out. If I continued with them for a couple of years. Service was always fine including right up to yesterday when I had the service for the air conditioning taken care of. This is an excellent job of cleaning the compressor unit that sits outside thats something that actually Wells did not do very often but pro comfort what they do is they remove the cover and use water to clear out all of the gunk that gets drawn in cuz its almost like a big fan that pulls air in and unfortunately it pulls it whatever else is outside so they did an excellent job of cleaning that. Service wise theyre outstanding I cant have any complaints whatsoever theyre just fantastic. One thing that did change however though is the maintenance contract changed instead of it being $200 for one heating one cooling visit it became $229 for a heating visit as well as another $229 for a cooling visit. Now I had no problem with the additional $29 that that was fine I expect that with inflation thats been hitting us that actually would have been comfortable with a little more than that. The fact however that now its $229 for each rather than for two visits I find that to be pretty expensive. So unfortunately I just paid for the spring I did not pay for the upcoming fall I did originally but I told them to refund it because I know I can do better price wise actually quite a bit better. I guess thats what happens you know if the prices go up too much you have to start looking elsewhere and thats what Ive decided to do but for quality I cant knock them at all they are outstanding quality so if you dont mind paying the extra money youll get that extra good quality but I just felt that was quite a jump in price from you know what I was used to.

Bill was very professional - he completed the annual tune-up in a timely manner, was on time for the appointment and updated me on the status of our furnace.I also appreciate his proactively offering the annual service plan for the furnace and air conditioning unit, which we gladly accepted. Shout out to Bennett who seemed to be lead on my mini split installation.I was very very impressed with his work ethic and commitment to get the job done. He cleaned up after himself and left the areas he worked in tidy.So far my system has been running well and keeping my house cool.One negative I want to mentionBe aware of what is actually required per local code and ask a 3rd party if not sure.Sales may build a generic install including components you may not need. Obviously this makes the company money.Im going to believe it was an oversight and not predatory, but I was quoted for a component that did not get installed because it wasn’t required per code.If you get quoted for a component and it’s not installed speak up and say something.Besides that A+ will use in future!

I had a failing water heater, I requested a quote through HomeAdviser from a couple of local companies. Proactive Comfort was the second one to call (as the first company arrived for a consult) they were able to come that afternoon to take a look. The first company said I needed a new tank, (same poorly made model), and a mixing valve to get up to code, but offered to not install the valve to keep the cost low. Proactive Comfort arrived a couple hours later and said I needed to replace the tank (they use a superior tank brand), a mixing valve, an expansion tank (to get the warranty for the tank) and a vacuum valve (I think its called). After going to his car to prepare the quote, he came back and was honest about his pricing we might not be the cheapest but were not the most expensive either he then proceeded to quote me a thousand dollars less than the previous company, for more work than the previous company even thought I needed. Due to his honesty about pricing and the obviously superb knowledge compared to the previous company I agreed to the work on the spot. The next day the guy showed up on time, and worked for a solid three hours, updating me whenever I went down to check on him.Im glad I found Proactive Comfort not just for this project, but also because I plan on using them in the future. Theyre knowledgeable, kind and honest in terms of what needs to be done.

Although neither was what I was looking for, as we are opting to purchase our own, he was very gracious and friendly and said to call him if we need help installing. The Proactive technician arrived at our home in the morning for a routine yearly cleaning of our boiler. We found Bill to be very friendly, personable and with a good sense of humor. However, in the middle of the night the boiler had ironically shut off and we were without heat and hot water. He went right to work, checking our 16 year old Systems 2000 boiler to find the problem. We asked him for a Christmas Miracle which he delivered by getting the boiler started so we would have heat. However, this was followed by a bit of not so good news which he delivered with great finesse. We needed a new boiler. He explained our options and the situation was handled almost immediately. When he left, we had a date for installation and a contract in the making. Bill was not only personable, but also knowledgeable and forthcoming as to the problems with our old boiler. There was no question it needed to be replaced. We trust our new technician Bill and the whole Proactive Comfort family. Derek was right on time and very professional and polite.I explained our R/O faucet problem as well as a regular faucet issue and he took care of both problems quickly.Although I have no problem with Derek’s work I do think that being charged a ‘dispatch fee’ of $50 in addition to the hourly rate is excessive.Why is there an extra fee charged to get the technician to come to do the work? How else do you get the work scheduled?We probably will not use this company again because of that fee despite the good repair work that was done.

Gary is Honest, Very Professional, Courteous, Friendly, Pleasant to have him in your home. Very clean & he’ll always lay down drop cloths so he doesn’t damage your floors & walls...Gary is always Helpful in me making decisions & he’ll always give you his honest opinion (if you want it) but he guides you with all the years of service he has in as a plumber. Gary is # 1, # 1, # 1, in my book. I was only able to give Gary & Proactive Comfort a rating of 5 STARS BUT IN MY BOOK, GARY IS RATED WITH 20 STARS & HIGHER!!! Proactive Comfort is RATED 15 STARS. Outstanding customer service! I recently called to advise my new ejector pump was not working. The tech arrived as scheduled and found that I was not allowing the tank to fill enough thereby tripping the ejector pump. This was clearly my error, but Proactive Comfort provided the service free of charge. They have recently installed a new ejector pump, water softener system and pressure tank. At this stage, no one will service my plumbing needs other than Proactive Comfort!!

This company should be a case study in how to do customer service the right way. There was an incident that happened and due to a recent change in their after hours call handling, we couldn’t reach anyone. However, when their in-house staff found out (which was also after hours), Emily went above and beyond to fix the issue, immediately sent one of the nicest and most professional techs to the house (shoutout Eddie!) and then followed up afterwards with more gestures of apology to make the situation right. Offering 5-star service is impressive but taking a customer from a 1-star experience and turning them into your #1 fan is practically a magic trick and these folks bring that magic. I will be highly recommending them to friends and will also be relaying this story in business circles of what customer service done right looks like. Fan for life!

Tech Bill Henshaw was outstanding. Very professional and congenial. Talked cats. His are young, ours are old. He adjusted our furnace to make it run more efficiently and save us some money on gas. Pointed out a potentially expensive issue with the AC compressor and did a quick fix. Strong winds keep blowing the mums on the doorstep over. Bill righted them when he arrived and when he left. On day of appt. they called ahead letting me know exact timing and who (James) would be coming. James was professional and experienced. He scoped out our little project. Fixed it very easily. The last two times I have needed to call Proactive Comfort they have done a great job helping fix our heating system and nest thermostat. Being a part of there service partner program has been a great experience. Being able to call and talk to someone after business hours and getting service next day or same day is well worth it. Bill Henshaw has been to my house twice recently and was knowledgeable, professional, fast, polite, and respectable. Small things such as putting on covers over his shoes to prevent dirt ect. When you’re speaking a large amount of money for new systems, multiple quotes and discussions are necessary. If we select Proactive, I’m confident the work would be impeccable. None of those “this is today’s price if you sign now”. I truly distrust any company that offers discounts for signing today.
