Vicente was great! He made fairly short work of figuring out the counterintuitive wiring in our hallway, solved our overhead lighting issues, and then graciously stuck around and answered the barrage of questions I had about various oddities Ive encountered related to our home wiring. And he was very friendly and patient with our 4-year-old son, who talked to him constantly while he was working. Well definitely hire VJR again for future electrical needs.

We had Vicente help us with a kitchen remodel. I am comfortable around electricity so I can say he was excellent to work with, professional, and did quality work. We were so pleased with that first job we had him come back and install an underground service to our detached garage, and do all the electric install for a standby generator. When the inspector came and saw the panel work he said; You obviously know what you are doing. No better compliment than that. And to top it off he is a nice guy. I cant recommend him highly enough.

These folks are truly the best. They gave us a reasonable quote on putting in some fans, fixing some switches that never did work right and sorting out a number of other items. They were responsive, they made sure we understood our options and even provided counsel for simpler and more economic solutions than we requested. Plus both Brad and Caleb were both genuniely great guys, a pleasure to have their energy in our home! Highly recommend them!

We own a century home and hired VJR to replace two stories of knob and tube wiring with new conduit, panels, and fixtures - a complete rewire. We had never heard of nor used this company before but were intrigued by the very good reviews. In the ten years we have owned and repaired our home, never have we had such intelligent, professional, courteous, and thorough contractors in our home. From the moment Vicente arrived to quote our work, to the moment his team cleaned up on the last day, we felt as if our peace of mind was his top priority. They pinpointed faulty wiring and dangerous shortcuts made by previous owners. The price was very reasonable and his team problem-solved with speed and care. Brad, Tony, and Vicente were just genuinely kind and respectful people and will be requested back for any future electrical needs we may have, so long as we live here.

We just moved into a new home that the builder had already finished and was reluctant to make any changes. We had a list of several upgrades that required electrical work from ceiling fans to thermostat upgrade to in-wall wiring for entertainment system.Vicente far surpassed my expectations with professional and courteous service. He arrived on schedule and we discussed the projects I wanted done. Vicente explained he could further upgrade the ceiling fan installs by installing a fan switch controller so that I could control the fan speed and the fan light/dimmer from one switch - since the builder only ran the wires to one switch instead of two. Perfect solution and we now have a custom house in our development! He helped me with initial set up of the Nest thermostat, replaced a couple of test/only switches with receptacle/test switches, and did a fantastic professional job on the in-wall wiring of my family room entertainment system so that the speakers all connect directly to speaker jack receptacles in the walls - custom home! Very nice looking - no wires across the floor or up the fireplace mantel anymore!The ceiling fans are a beautiful and comfortable addition to our new home - thanks to VJR Electric.I would definitely recommend VJR for any electrical service need - professional, friendly, great value, and creative problem solver!Thanks Vicente!

I have a 1918 house that had the original wiring. I really wanted to update the electrical for safety, being able to handle a large modern electrical load, and to be able to lay insulation in the attic (can’t do over old). I was really worried about someone coming in and damaging my old plaster walls or doing a sloppy job that would look terrible in my old house. Vicente Was very professional and gave a solid quote with the breakdowns requested for a lot of work. He did an amazing job communicating with me and keeping me in the loop on expectations and time lines. He was even good enough to inset the outlets so I could use my antique brass plate covers again. Everything works wonderfully and you can tell he did great craftsmanship. The inspector even told us that “wow this guy did a really thorough job!”. I couldn’t be more pleased with the work and will recommend him to absolutely everyone and probably only hire him in the future. Only downside was it took a little while for him to come out because he’s so in demand but he still met out timeline (which was basically before winter). Well worth the wait. Hire this man.

I cannot imagine selecting any better electrician to do our remodeling project than VJR Electric! Vicente was great to work with, an excellent communicator, problem-solver and positive all around! We are remodeling our family room in our walk-out basement and hired VJR Electric to:1. Install six recessed lights in basement living area.2. Update three recessed light trims above fireplace.3. Install two dimmers and replace switch for outside lights to update to Decora style switches.4. Replace four outlets to white.VJR Electric did a phenomenal job, even better than we could have ever imagined. He moved our project up in the queue when he had a cancellation, came in under budget for this project and everything looks and works great. I highly recommend VJR Electric!

Vicente assessed the situation and was incredibly articulate and clear as he detailed his findings and his plans to fix the problems in multiple emails and phone calls with me. He meticulously took care of all the projects we discussed, keeping me apprised of his progress, before my family and I moved in. He came in under budget (!) and took great care to minimize the patching work we would need to do after his repairs. I was so grateful to move into a house with full faith that its wiring was now safe.

He looked at the issues we were having, solved one of them, put together an estimate for two more, and then told me how we could fix one or two ourselves without the cost of an electrician. He and one of his guys came back today to handle the two projects he estimated for us, and I could not be more pleased with the end result. They were on time, professional, friendly, and left the project sites cleaner than they were when they got here. We will absolutely use VJR next time we need any electrical work done. There are more electrical issues to resolve & I hope to be able to purchase an automatic turn-on Generac generator usable during power outages.06/19/23. I had some smaller repairs needed around the house. I set up the appointment with Vincente for an early morning due to the repairs in the attic and the hot summer weather being a factor. Vincente sent a confirmation email the day before and was on time for our appointment. He was very courteous and thorough. The repairs were made and he also looked at some other concerns we had and gave solid, reasonable and honest advice. Im not looking forward to any future electrical concerns at the house but when I do I will be calling Vincente. A true professional who cares about his trade and provides high quality work.

Highly recommend VJR Electric! The owner, Vicente, and his assistant, Tony, were spectacular. VJR Electric was found by QMerit to be the best electrician around Albemarle County to install a 240-volt outlet for my electric vehicle. Vicente called me the same day QMerit chose him for this job to ask me questions and then make an appointment. He and Tony were on time, communicated their plan to run 20 ft of 6-gauge wire outside of my home, back into the basement crawl space, and then run the remaining 40 ft to my garage. This was done in exactly the five hours they estimated. This excellent work was only exceeded by their politeness. Also, they are located 45-miles away.
