Finding a trustworthy contractor to do a job can be a tedious journey. Working with Tim was such a smooth process. He was able to give me a quote from pictures I sent and was able to beat the other quotes I received because of the fact that it’s him and his son who do all of the work themselves. He was honest and upfront, arrived on time, answered questions, did a lovely job on the radon fan, explained how it works and made it look like it was supposed to be a part of the house all along. I messed up the radon test and he gave me advice. I would feel comfortable reaching out to him for any questions/concerns we may have in the future. Our radon levels went from 7+ to below 1.

I highly recommend Tim for your Radon mitigation needs. He installed a radon abatement system in my house a week ago as well as filled in any observable cracks in the concrete floor and walls. Tim and his son were a pleasure to work with for mitigating our home’s radon. He came out to look at our house to find the ideal solution for our needs in our basement configuration, scheduled us promptly, and did A++ work. Through the whole process, they explained what they were going to do and why, had great communication via email/phone, and has upfront pricing that was super competitive. Even more, he stands by his work with a lifetime warranty on labor and 5 year fan warranty. I can’t recommend RM of Maryland enough!

I only have AMAZING things to say about Tim!! During a recent purchase of our home I reached out to Tim to give us a rough estimate of the cost to fix the high radon levels in our home. He looked at my home inspection and was able to give us two different price quotes before even coming out! Tim took his time to explain to me the possible issues, how he cold correct the problem, and a cost/timeline. He was professional, very easy to communicate with and took his time to explain things despite me not even being a paying customer yet! He confirmed our appointment after we purchased and moved into the house and came today to fix our current radon issue. Tim is so knowledgeable and was able to give us specific instructions post his visit on retesting. He was reliable, SO reasonable (which is amazing during the midst of a pandemic) and highly professional. Radon mitigating companies are few and far between and the two others I called in Maryland were extremely rude to me and refused to give me any estimate over the phone. If you are purchasing a home, already have a home, or are selling and have a radon issue... Tim is your guy!!! I sent an email to Tim in the morning requesting information regarding radon mitigation in my home. That afternoon, he replied with a few questions. By 7:00 am the next morning, I had an estimate and installation date from Tim. (FYI, I sent requests to other (radon) contractors and have yet to hear from them.)He maintained communication with me until the date of my installation and answered all of my questions. On the date of installation, he surveyed my basement and property and gave me a thorough explanation of what he would install and how it would work. The entire time he was in my home, he was most professional and kind. We have completed a retest and the radon level dropped to almost 0! We highly recommend Tim for radon mitigation. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I would!!

Radon Mitigation (Tim, the owner) did a great job installing our radon mitigation system for a fair price. He thoroughly explained the process, arrived on time, worked neatly, and cleaned up well. The system was installed on our existing sump pump and vented out the side of the house.We have a real time radon detector (Ecosense) that allows us to monitor radon levels every 10 min. Just before installation the 1-day and 1-week average radon levels were 3.75 pCi/L and 2.94 pCi/L, and spikes lasting hours to days between 5 - 10 pCi/L were common. Averages were trending up and we decided to mitigate before winter, when radon levels tend to be higher. Since the system was installed the weekly average has dropped to 0.40 pCi/L. The highest 1-day average weve had since Tim left was 0.56 pCi/L, and the highest real time reading Ive seen is 1.1 pCi/L, all quite safe.

I’ve long wondered if I needed to care about radon as our house passed a radon test before we closed on it over 20 years ago. I considered re-testing many years ago but the hassle of having to set up the kits and send to a lab made me ignore it. When I saw a real-time instant detector in the store a few months ago I decided to get it. Just install batteries and set it in a room. It showed an average of over 6 pci/L. Anything over 4 should be remediated. Anything between 2 and 4 is supposed to be ok but should consider remediation. Tim installed a radon removal system for us and our levels in the basement went from 6 to less than 1 (.58) The workmanship and attention to detail was top notch. I highly recommend this company to remove your radon and give you and your family peace of mind.

While he was working an inspector was checking the house and the agent and buyer came and saw him working and asked questions. Later, I asked more questions. What can you say but that the world would be a better place if everyone had a Tim in their lives. I presented Tim with a very complicated mitigation problem: 3 different slabs and a crawl space with elevated Radon levels throughout. Tim was generous with his time and thoughtful with his approach to the problem. He gave me a very reasonable estimate and adamantly delivered on it despite my insistence that his efforts had gone above and beyond what he quoted; Tim spent the full day with me sealing and patching and hauling and drilling and sweating and maneuvering through tight spaces, and even battling the rain. Our house had an existing radon mitigation system that recent testing indicated no longer functioned properly (average levels were almost twice the EPA recommended level). We searched for several contractors, and Tim was the only one who was willing to troubleshoot and properly diagnose our problem. He was methodical in first diagnosing and finding the root cause of our radon issue before proposing any further work. We were most impressed that he did not appear to offer a quick fix solution or tackling the problem with superficial guesses. He was sincere in finding a cost-effective, lasting solution. Also, because of his patience and respectfulness in carefully explaining his findings, we were able to understand his proposed work. His proposal for installing a new mitigation system as the best solution to our problem was reasonable both in terms of cost and in terms of approach to optimize performance while minimizing intrusiveness in installation. We could not be more pleased with the outcome after a long, hard search for the right contractor as now our radon levels are averaging

He neatly tucked it away behind the washer and dryer so well that one can’t even tell it’s there (but we can still easily check manometer levels). I dont write reviews often, but working with Tim and the job that Tim did was just outstanding. A++ , this is the company to go with. Anyone that needs Radon mitigation should use Tim and Radon Mitigation of Maryland. From initial contact where we found Tim on the web, his speedy responsiveness to our contact and a fast, through, accurate estimate came within 24 hours and had pictures of our home that was part of a real estate listing. He asked detailed questions to provide an accurate quote. His price is the best of any we found. He promptly scheduled the appt and confirmed it multiple times to make sure nothing had changed. His work is exceptional. He had to drill through concrete and mount piping on the outside as well as seal a sump hole and it looked like the Radon system was always there when he was done. Clean and meticulous installation. It was done in the 4 hr time frame he told me at the start and even a little sooner. Tim reviewed all the details of the install, walked me through the system and its operation and included a great warranty on parts and his labor at no extra charge. He provided the retest kit and thorough instructions on how to place it , pick it up and send it in. A job exceptionally done. I wish I could have this experience with other contractors.
