Evan (Urban Plantscapes) is a treasure to our Pittsburgh community and I highly recommend his service. I know that our neighbors would.We hired Evan to waterproof our basement and garage. Evan studied our yards and suggested a French drain and we agreed. In the process we also agreed with Evan that our front and side yards needed landscaping. Once Evan started the projected, he updated us with the progress every night with an email.Evan knew that we have families visiting over soon and so he made sure to finish the project on time. We had few days of rain in the past week and Evan and his team worked through that.I have added some after and before photos. -

I am writing this review to highly recommend Evan Davis Santi and Urban Plantscapes. The project - transforming a steep hillside into a terraced garden - was completed on June 10, 2023, in the greater Pittsburgh area. It is beautiful and will be more manageable for my husband and me to care for. I can’t wait for the new plantings to really take off and next spring is going to be something to see! Take a look at the before and after pictures to see the transformation.Evan was a true pleasure to work with - great ideas, responsive, and collaborative. He built up my eroding hillside, leveled out some of the yard, and bolstered the hillside with plants. The project was reasonably priced and Evan’s staff were excellent – hardworking, personable, and courteous. Shout out to Mike, Zac, and Caleb!Evan designed a mix of native, non-native, and mostly deer-resistant plants including purple cone flowers, butterfly bushes, Russian sage, lavender, lamb’s-ear, Veronica (speedwell), black-eyed Susan, lilac, spiderwort, azalea, rhododendrons, native hydrangeas, and groundcovers vinca minor, creeping thyme, and woolly thyme. Plants I had in my yard were used as part of the landscaping as well – peonies, weigela, lavender, and Russian sage. We placed steppingstones on the terrace and planted creeping thyme seeds. Boulders and solar path lights were added and grass seed spread where needed. The final touch was moving my Emperor Japanese maple and planting 3 new trees – flowering cherry tree, kousa dogwood, and American hornbeam.We are very pleased with the results. Evan and the crew at Urban Plantscapes did a fantastic job this year taming my unruly yard, maintaining it through the season, and then getting everything ready for winter. I especially appreciated their knowledge about plant health and recommendations to improve the look of my yard. This was my first season with Urban Plantscapes, and I look forward to getting them back over here next spring! -

Fabulous work done. Very knowledgeable about everything having to do with landscaping from plants to dirt and beyond. Great suggestions. Turnaround time was great; pricing was fair for work done (which was a lot). Beautiful work done with great results and great follow up to make sure everything was going well. Highly recommend!! -

I worked with Evan and Caleb from Urban Plantscapes for the large job of clearing my front hill and my front and back yards. This included a lot of weeding, trimming, tree trimming, and general clean up. I was extremely happy with their services. They were responsive, timely, and courteous, and they paid attention to my concerns - such as preserving some of the herbs that remained amongst the weeds. They cleaned up and when finished, you would not have guessed how much debris they removed. They made recommendations as to how to maintain what they had done and were especially scrupulous in making sure to consult my neighbor in terms of weeding near the border of their yard. On top of all this, I thought their prices were very fair for the amount and quality of work that they did. I would highly recommend their services, and I will definitely use them for other landscaping services as they are needed.
