    Bill was a complete lifesaver. I walked into my office Tuesday morning and I had to no power. With deadlines approaching he was the first person I called and he reassured me I would be up and running soon. My entire electrical panel in my office was fried.     We had Bill and Joe come out to replace our bathroom fan. They were on time and spent most of the day refiguring the venting system. They did a great job and left absolutely no mess. We are extremely happy with the new fan.On a personal side Bill is so pleasurable to deal with. He is very personable and makes sure you completely understand what he is doing in plain English. I highly recommend Bill for an electrical issues.

    We had living room lights installed. Bill did a fantastic job recommending what would look best and explaining what needed to be done. They added wiring, lights, and an outlet next to our stairs. excited to use it for Christmas lights! They also fixed a broken outlet we had in the living room. We had them install new smoke detectors to get the house up to code. Clean up was fantastic. Great experience overall.

    Bill was great to work with. I had what I thought was a tricky electrical troubleshooting problem. I had a new bath fan that wasnt working. I bought another just to make sure I didnt get a bad fan but was still having trouble. Bill helped me troubleshoot and eventually I realized that I had 2 bad fans. Bought a third fan, same brand, same model, is working just fine now! Bill was very responsive and helpful!

    We bought a house from a DIY guy. Over the years we have had to fix many things to bring them up to code and/or make it safe. Anytime it’s electrical, we call Hannay Electric. William (Bill) and his son, Joe, are the best! I truly mean this and can back it up. Hannay Electric is a small, veteran-owned and operated, family business. Bill supports his community in an ‘above and beyond’ way. I met him at the Elk River Chamber meeting when he was donating his time to install Chambers new digital sign. I have ran into him at multiple community fundraising events and discovered that he shares my same philosophy of ‘invest in the community that invests in you.’ He is a member of the American Legion and has voted to distribute funds to school activities that my kids are in. I even jumped into a frozen lake with him to raise money for United Way. This man is an incredible Electrician, a Community Hero, and now my friend. Love you Bill!

    Amazing experience, amazing people, amazing to work with. Had some issues with my breaker panel and gfi outlets. We were able to diagnose and fix the problem over the phone.     Bill helped me when I ran into difficulty installing a new light fixture. He was able to assess the situation with a few photos and took the time to clearly explain what I needed to do in order to fix the issue. A few minutes later and I had my light up and working!     Bill and Joe brought our kitchen’s electric up to date from the 1970s and did a marvelous job. We put in new overhead lighting, undermount cabinet lighting, new wiring for a dishwasher, rewired our microwave to its own breaker, put the refrigerator on its own breaker, rewired our stove, put in additional and new electrical outlets, new electrical for an exterior light, new electrical switches, rewired much of the electrical box, installed new lighting, and cleaned up some old wiring that was no longer in use. I can’t stress enough how professional, intelligent, intuitive, and friendly they are. They are the ideal electrician anyone would want to work on their home. We are extremely satisfied and happy with their work. Would we hire them again? 100%. I wouldn’t even think to call another electrician except Hannay Electric. Thank you both very much! You are the best!

He give me exact details and advice (Including advising me against doing some work that would have made him money!) clearly a very honest and well informed individual.     Great service , easy to work with , too bad I don’t have the old photo of the old box and all the wires that most were put in the old box illegally or not up to code (it was like a plate of spaghetti noodles), but the new one was put in and the inspector was just out today and pass the work and put up their sticker of approval

    Our home lost power on a Friday, called Bill asking if he could repair the breaker on our power pole outside. All he needed was a picture of it for reference.     We had to have our air conditioner replaced recently and Hannay Electric did the new wiring for the unit.     I reached out to Bill about my oven constantly tripping the GFI outlet on the wall and had no clue what was truly causing it but ultimately needed a GFI replacement on the wall. Bill showed up promptly as requested and he was able to replace the GFI within a mere matter of minutes and did ultimately a great job in the end. It was difficult to swallow the price tag though for only 5 minutes of work and wished I would have known that was the issue as it was something I could have done myself. 5 stars on the work, but felt over charged for what was completed in my honest opinion.

    Had a wonderful experience with Hannay Electric. I called after Conexus told me I needed a breaker switch changed out and that I should hire a professional. So I called Hannay Electric and spoke with Bill. After I told him what I needed done he said along the lines of Im going to save you some money and just tell you what to do.He could have easily come to my home and charged me for something that took 5 minutes to do. Im blown away by his honesty and integrity. Hes the first contractor to ever save me money.I will definitely use him for any electrical work I may need in the future.

    I cannot explain how grateful I am to Bill for helping guide me through the process of finishing the electrical work in our basement bedroom.     Excellent service, extraordinarily knowledgeable. Bill installed under-cabinet kitchen LEDs in my kitchen, and ground-fault interruptors. Not only did he do that work well, he fixed some issues that a prior contractor had made along the way.     Had a huge tree fall on my power pole and I needed an electrician asap. Called Bill and he was at my house in 45 minutes with an affordable estimate. After the electric company placed a new pole, Bill came back and put a new box and wires on the new pole. Hes on time and does what needs to be done!     I would highly recommend Hannay Electric. They were able to be flexible with my hectic schedule. I needed a few new receptacles and to fix a connection for the dishwasher. They gave me so much more than I expected. Safety came first and Bill replaced all my smoke detectors from 1999. He’s the first one I call for any electrical needs.

    We had a dangerous issue occur overnight with what Id thought at the time was our panel, so I reached out to Hannay Electric first thing in the morning. Not only was William very quick to respond, but he adjusted his schedule given the urgency, came out to my home a short time later, and quickly identified the issue at the meter. He was able to clearly explain the problem to me.Though the issue ended up being the responsibility of Xcel, William remained in touch throughout the day to make certain everything was getting taken care of and that everything turned out well. Going forward, Hannay Electric will be the first -- and hopefully only -- company I reach out to for my homes electric needs.

    My experience with Hannay Electric is one of gratitude. I can’t thank them enough for what they did for my family and I. Let me explain.My wife and I recently bought our first house, something that we have been working very hard for, for a long time. Myself being a Marine, was lucky enough to be able to use a VA Home Loan to help purchase our house. This was all the way down in Cannon Falls (closer to my work). The VA went in and did an inspection of the house and signed off on it. Then we paid out of our own pocket to have an inspection done just to make sure we knew everything we could about the place before we signed the final paper work. Everything came back fine, minus the few odds and ends here and there...or so we thought. As soon as we moved into the house things instantly started going wrong and the electrical in the house to us, looked like the things of nightmares. Exposed wiring, amateur wiring, open electrical boxes in places that almost 2 year old son can reach. Multiple breaker panels in the basement, nothing labeled with wires going everywhere. A complete mess and safety hazard.That’s where Hannay Electric stepped in. They heard about our situation, came in FREE OF CHARGE and fixed it. Replaced the multiple breaker boxes in the basement with 1 proper panel. Cleaned up and removed all the amateur wiring, fixed the electrical open junction boxes and even went as far as to notice improper wiring on our AC Unit and just fixed it. Replaced electric outlets and much more. They Spent all day helping us, just because they could.For a company to show that kind of compassion for someone they have never met, really tells you about the kind of company, and the kind of people they are. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for my family and I. They are amazing, and I will gladly do business with them in the future and you should too.     Our outdoor outlets didn’t work ALL summer nor our water softener. We did a DIY replacement of one outlet by the front door-it didn’t work! We called Hannay Electric and Bill had us check for a tripped outlet in the basement as that’s where our breaker box was! Yup! That was it! EVERYTHING works now! He probably saved us hundreds! Thanks Bill! Highly recommend! This company shows integrity and professionalism!

    My outlet in my kitchen had not been working for months and I had no idea what was wrong. I called Hannay and he walked me through what was wrong.     My garage door opener did not have power even after checking the circuit breaker. I called after normal work hour to arrange a service call. Bill called me back to say it might be the ground fault circuit interruptor. I found it and my garage door opener works. Super nice to help me and save the service call...above and beyond kindness and honesty when it’s an easy fix.

    Initially hired Bill to troubleshoot a popping noise we heard near an outlet. We found out that the popping was actually a battery, but asked bill to perform a sanity check on that outlet. We also had him replace a few outside fixtures.During the inspection, Bill was very informative and gave things to me straight. He told me things that were issues, such as a previous owner not finishing the basement to code in regard to outlet placement, and my garage door opener sharing the same circuit as my living room (Bill said this was common in the period my house was built). Bill didnt use scare tactics or shove anything down my throat.Bill and his assistant/apprentice performed their work with quality and at a fair price.

    I would recommend this business - I called with an electrical issue and the owner immediately new how to resolve it - rather than come out and charge me he explained what switch to reset and in 5 minutes on the phone the issue was resolved.

    Bill diagnosed our power outage over the phone. We had a gif tripped in a basement bathroom that cut power to our garage. Bill responded quickly to a phone message and was extremely knowledgeable about how our house was wired just based on the age of the house. We are new to Elk River and just found our forever electrician! Amazing, professional, kind and knowledgeable!
