    JNL ReviewI found JNL after an extensive search for a new HVAC contractor to service our house and office. I had recently learned our top of the line 10 year old Trane furnace was manufactured with a compromised heat exchanger which had cracked. The Trane unit had been nothing but trouble over the years (due to the unit itself and poor installation) so, despite it only being 10 years old, I decided to replace instead of repair. Our long time contractor had been taken over by private equity and was an absolute mess. As I started my research I quickly learned that the quality of installation is so much more important than the brand or equipment. I decided on a Carrier Infinity unit and began an extensive search for contractors qualified to install.I had received a handful of quotes from the contractors most local to me and JNL was my last quote. Kevin from JNL was the only person who looked at my situation from the eyes of an installer and identified several areas for improvement that could be accomplished while we were replacing the system. He wanted to make sure we not only corrected our equipment, but also the installation so that we didn’t end up in the same situation. So many of the other companies simply sent a sales guy who had no real understanding of proper duct sizing and configuration. They simply wanted to sell me the same sized equipment and let their installers figure it out. Kevin’s knowledge and experience was readily apparent and after telling me a little bit about the company I knew they were my choice. It was the least pushy and most educational quote I received. Their pricing was competitive with the others I had obtained and we went ahead and scheduled the installation at a time that was convenient for everyone.Andrew was our lead installer and installation is an absolute piece of art! He rebuilt our supply plenum and reconfigured the return air to better balance the system. He was also able to adjust the routing on a few ducts to buy us more head room in our very constrained basement entry. The way he figured out how to route everything was incredible and further reinforced how our poor our previous installation was. This was a really tight space and to do as clean of an install as he did is absolutely amazing! You can tell in looking at the details that they take pride in their work. And I have never had a contractor who has left the work area so clean. They put down tarps and cardboard, and cleaned everything before they left. There was no trace they were even in the house. I now understand how a properly installed system looks and runs and sleep better knowing it. We have had the unit in operation for a while now and it’s leaps and bound above our previous system, the house is much more comfortable and unlike our previous system, I can hardly tell this Carrier system is running. I’m so glad to have found JNL and will recommend them to anyone with heating and cooling needs.

    Our AC went out at the end of last summer, I asked around for a reference and Jeff reached out to me right away and I explained my issue he went through everything with me and explained in detail my best options. He followed up with any questions we had and once we decided to go with a whole new unit for the AC and furnace they got us on the books immediately and the guys (3) of them arrived at the time quoted were very respectful and efficient. It took them 4 hours to remove everything and install all the new equipment. They then went through everything with me in detail and cleaned everything up, you wouldn’t even know they were here. They did a wonderful job and I am very satisfied with the quality of service and the detail in the whole explanation of the process.. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for service or new equipment. Very professional and wonderful to deal with! Thank you JNL Climate we can rest easy again!

    David with JNL has helped us a few times and we were very pleased. He is very knowledgeable, polite, punctual and gives advise on how to prevent issues (eg mice chewing wires in the AC unit). The person who schedules appointments is also very helpful and polite. We have been using JNL for years for maintaining and servicing our furnace and AC and have been very happy. When we needed to replace our furnace and AC, we got three bids and decided to go with JNL not only because the price was reasonable, but because we felt we could trust them to do the best job. Plus, they are a local small company. Highly recommend them.

    We just had JNL install a new American Standard furnace in our home. About two years ago, we had them replace our A/C unit. Over the past 30 years, they have installed 3 complete furnace and A/C systems for us at three different homes, in addition to doing a full system at my sons townhouse. Every time we have had permit inspections, the inspectors always comment about the great quality workmanship performed by JNL. We also have JNL perform annual maintenance on our equipment which is very important. We rarely require any servicing beyond that.I actually looked back at a review I did three years ago, and all the same comments still apply: Great workmanship, highly responsive, very professional, extremely fair pricing - just an outstanding company to do business with. They take time to answer all your questions, they dont try to sell you things you dont need, and they back their work. Ive referred JNL to a lot of people over the years. People ask do you get competitive quotes for your projects? For most big ticket jobs around the house, my answer is yes. But not when it comes to HVAC. We only call JNL.Youll find most of the technicians at JNL have been there a long time, and I think that says a lot about the company, its values, and how they do business. We are grateful for the exceptional service they have provided over the past three decades. If you need HVAC work, I highly recommend giving JNL a call.

    .We came home on Sunday to find our air conditioner was not working. Monday morning I called JNL for service and they came out Tuesday. As I expected my 25 year old ac unit was done for. I asked to have a salesman come out to talk about a new unit as quickly as possible because we had a large party planned for the coming Friday. The JNL salesman came out the same day and I was able to schedule an emergency installation for Thursday the day before the party. Everything went smoothly by the end of the day Thursday we had a new air conditioner up and running just in time for our family get together. Everyone at JNL were very helpful and considerate about the need we had for a new ac unit and did a fantastic job taking care of us. I highly recommend them if you need a new furnace or air conditioner.11/30/2024Once again we arrived home on Saturday and this time our furnace was not working. The temperature was 50 degrees in the house and dropping. I contacted JNL and arrange to have Al from sales to come on Monday. He is great to work with and very strait forward. We discussed options and he made very good suggestions and recommendation on equipment. Our new furnace was installed by Andrew who worked quickly and efficiently. He spent extra time to tune the furnace to work with our previously installed zone heating system to insure they worked together as intended. JNL has taken care of my daughters heating and cooling needs for years and now us. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an reputable company that can provide quick follow up and great work when needed .

    I came back from vacation to no AC and it being the beginning of summer knew that was going to be an issue. I reached out and they were able to stop by the next day. My “smart” thermostat, was not so smart and was fried. They had a replacement thermostat they were able to put in its place. It was quick easy and fast.     I would highly recommend this business. Of all the estimates I had at my house they were the only ones that took the time to explain, in detail, everything they would replace and install. Kurt brought with him some air conditioner technical information I could read, required up to date insurance paperwork, along with prior references. In his proposal he gave me a couple of American Standard air conditioner options to choose from that would be appropriate for our Midwest climate. His delivery was far superior to the other companies I interviewed. The two young men that installed were very respectful of my property and also very personable and professional. I was extremely happy with the entire process and feel confident knowing I have a reputable HVAC business to rely on in the future. I wish them much success!!

    JNL replaced both my heating unit and air conditioning unit. I found the operator answering the phone, the owner who provided the quote and the installers all friendly and very, very professional. There was a small issue that I wont go into details about but the important take away for me was that the issue at hand was handled with integrity rarely found in business today. I will use JNL for all my heating and air needs and I recommend them highly to your family as well. They are locally owned and care about doing the job right and customer satisfaction above all else. They are not just words on a page, they live the motto.

    This is a great group of guys. We used JNL 15 years ago to install a complete system on a previous house. We were happy then, and we are happy today after they installed a new heat and a/c in our new house. They did a nice job today. We let them put in our new water heater too.     Enrique we’d a great technician. Got a text that he was on the way. He arrived within the window that i wad told a technician be at my residence. He was very polite and did a great job. There was a part on the humidifier that needs to be replaced. He did not have the part and apologized for not having and assured me the office would be calling the next day to set up an appointment to come and replace the part. I would not hesitate to recommend JNL Climate Control to anyone.

    We have used JNL for a couple of years now and I am so glad that we switched companies! Their office staff is very nice as are their technicians.     Im a homeowner and a general contractor. I had a hard time finding good quality HVAC company to perform furnace maintenance. JNL came recommended from one of my customers. I called JNL and was surprised how easy and efficient the scheduling process was. They put me on their schedule and followed up with email as promised. On the day of service I received reminder call. The crew showed up on time, they were professional, knowledgeable, inspected and cleaned the furnace. They also offered me few options on future pro active service, which I accepted.     JNL has always been a class act. I called them yesterday on a Sunday with an in operable air-conditioner. I wanted service for Monday since I was not going to be home yesterday. They tried to come out right away to fix my unit but I told them Monday was fine. The technician came out today and was very professional and efficient and took care of my problem right away. He even took the time to clean my air conditioner which was not requested at the time I placed the call. He gave me a courtesy call when he was on his way and was very punctual. Their prices are very fair and beat out their competition. I would recommend and have been recommending them to everyone I know. You won’t be disappointed!

    Great experience with JNL for my full HVAC system install in August. Equipment was 30 years old and original to the house so we had a new American Standard AC and HE furnace installed along with a whole home humidifier. They were very professional, on time and did great work. Kept the work area very clean and explained everything they did. All work was completed in one full day as promised. Very reasonable price compared to the various other companies I had out for a quote. They also did some plumbing work for us and we were very happy with that as well.

    I can’t say enough about the professionalism and service of JNL. John came out to give me an estimate and didn’t try to oversell me on a furnace/ac combo I didn’t need (even though other companies did). He was straightforward and honest all throughout the process. After reviewing options, it was determined that a new furnace was needed.     Ive used JNL twice now, the first time was to service an existing furnace. The more recent time was to install a media filter on our furnace. When speaking to john he was very knowledgeable about the different types of filters and what might work for me, and all the estimates of the presented options were very competitive. Once the filter was installed the job looked very cleanly done. It seemed very simple to open the filter cover since it has a magnetic closure (was previously filter was very difficult.) My father, a home inspector, uses JNL as his go-to refferral for heating and air, and I can see why. Highly recommend them for a professional job and knowledgeable service.

    I gave JNL a call after receiving the news from another company that we were going to need to replace our furnace. The previous company took 4 days of coming and going to diagnose and trying to fix the unit. Eventually they said the whole thing needed to be replaced because the parts needed aren’t made any more and the replacement parts don’t work for our unit. All the coming and going seemed odd so I thought I’d make another call, just to be sure.I decided to get a 2nd opinion and called JNL. They had me on the books for an appointment between 10AM and 1PM. The service professional, ANDY, arrived at 10:33. He was extremely pleasant, followed Covid protocol, and wasn’t bothered by my barking little dog. He checked EVERYTHING, and even noticed/found that the previous folks bypassed a SAFETY feature!Long story short, ANDY was able to not only get the parts needed and fix what was previously said to be unfixable, it saved us a ton of money.     I chose JNL to replace my 17 yr old HVAC system mostly because I trusted their workmanship having used them at a previous address! They were efficient in the installation and the new system looked so much cleaner than the old unit which looked like it was put together with duct tape.     I needed to have my A/C relocated because I couldnt sleep due to the noise. My neighbor recommended JNL because they had the exact same problem and were very satisfied with their work. When I first called, I was pleased that a secretary answered the phone, so I didnt have to leave a voicemail and hope for the best. She connected me with Kurt, the co-owner, and we set up an appt. for a couple days later to see what needed to be done. He showed up on time and came up with the perfect solution. After getting my permits, we set up the work appt. The two technicians who did the work were right on time and were very professional. Andrew, the lead tech was a dynamo and really knew what he was doing. He never stopped...even in 90+ degree weather! He worked in perfect coordination with his partner, Jerry.     JNL Climate Control is the best heating and air conditioning company in the Fox Valley area. We started by getting 3 quotes on a new variable speed furnace and air conditioner. Kurt was first up to bat and blew me out of the water with his professionalism and knowledge. As an over 50 woman, sometimes salespeople talk down to you but this was not the case with Kurt. He answered all my questions and showed me everything that they were going to do and how they were going to do it. He was probably at my house for at least an hour! When the other companies came out (one another local company and the other a larger company that advertises on TV, in coupon books, etc.) they talked down to me and were constantly checking their phones while talking to me. Did not explain anything and were here probably less than 10 minutes. JNL showed up for the install first thing in the morning as promised. They laid cardboard on my wood floors and drop cloths on the carpet. Andrew and Jason were very professional when they were in my home. Andrew even swept the furnace room floor for me before bringing in new unit! He also helped me reach the ice maker line that I couldn’t! When I went downstairs during the day to see how the install was going they did not chase me away like I was bothering them and answered any questions. When they were finished, Andrew gave me a tour of all the work that was completed right down to the vent pipes. All openings into the house were caulked and sealed. He showed me a very small dent in the furnace door which I wouldn’t have even noticed and said that they ordered me a new door! Very detail oriented crew! Showed me how everything work and helped me get the app for my new thermostat. Very happy we choose JNL for our replacement!

    We recently purchased a home with a 30+ year old furnace and air conditioner. We found out that not only did the air conditioner have the now unavailable Freon, but most of the furnace parts were also unavailable. The guys who did the installation were super professional but equally friendly and approachable. Just a few weeks later the control panel led display went blank. I called on a Sunday afternoon, spoke to a real live human person, who told me she was going to get the guy in call to call me back within a few minutes. He called me back within 10 minutes, and was able to come over and replace the defective panel, help me program it, and all at no charge because it was covered under warranty!     Stop your search for a reliable, professional, reasonable, and honest HVAC company...you found it here with JNL. I had a 30 year + furnace and AC that I wanted to have looked at because I wanted to make sure that they were running efficiently and cleanly. They came out the summer of 2013 to check the pressures on my AC and assured me that they were where they needed to be. While they were here they checked the condition of my furnace after I had put in a new induction fan myself the previous winter, which also checked out OK. I had tried to get a certain company out prior to them who I always see advertised in the mailers who do HVAC in the Chicago area no matter what season it is...all 4 of them hint hint.. and they never showed up for the appointment that I had made and stayed home all day for. After I called to ask about the appointment they apologized and tried to reschedule for a week later. I called JNL,who I got as a reference to from a friend, and they were out the next day ON TIME!!! Fast forward to October 2015 and I felt it was time for a new furnace. John the owner came out for an estimate and was very helpful as far as providing options and explaining all of them. I ended up receiving several quotes as I changed my mind for a 2 stage furnace and AC replacement as well. I just got them both installed today by Andrew and Jason, the technicians, who were professional and did outstanding work. I couldnt be happier with the whole process and regret not replacing these sooner!! The new furnace is much quieter and provides a more even temperature..as I was told it would. Im proud to say that I now have an HVAC guy I can depend on and recommend to family and friends...or anyone who asks for quality work. Its nice to know there are businesses out there that still pride themselves on quality over quantity...Take those mailer advertisements for cleaning & HVAC discount combos to the recycling bin where they belong...or use them to write down the phone # for JNL and give them a call to service or replace your units, youll be happy you did. Trust me.

    The owner has expert level knowledge and the HVAC installers were professional, courteous, and well versed on the new furnace / AC system. They did a very good job, installing it within one day . Thus far (after 1 day) the new system is a definite improvement over the 23 year old system it replaced. Make sure you get a smart (i.e. Ecobee) thermostat to fully take advantage of its features.
