    Prices were above average but they do offer discounts for customers that makes them competitive. Sam workweeks very hard to upgrade service to 200 amp and we were without power for about a day but that was expected left my place clean as well and ibsrall equipment perfectly

    Exceptionally happy with Sylvester Electric and their electrician, Jim. No-one likes to have an emergency repair done to their electrical service due to a tree falling on the incoming powerline.. However, the electrician, Jim, was professional and courteous. Jim made the emergency repairs quickly and efficiently. Jim made sure I was aware of every step of the process to minimize the impact on our daily routine.

I called the the night before they show up in the morning and get the job done in the afternoon to complete some work recommended by home inspector for my over 1 million dollars home in Lexington. Gives you updates, options, opinions... He has great carpentry aside from the electrical skills, so he is full of fast, solid options. Still a bit pricey, but they work with you on that, and their work does tend to be EXCELLENT!! A++

    Professional, On-Time, Courteous and Clear. Both of the associates who came out took time to explain clearly the options for my electrical work and gave a range of useful solutions. Very clear communication in setting up the appointment as well. I will definitely be using this company in the future. Cannot recommend Jon Bennett or Sylvester Electric highly enough.Our house is old and has lots of lovable quirks but I was initially only interested in getting a bathroom vent repaired. Jon (and James) pointed out several ways that I could make my vent more efficient - from simply removing the screen on the window that was keeping the vent panels from actually opening (face palm!) to updating to a more efficient system (with several other options in between).I felt zero pressure to choose any option over the other but got great clarity over the pros and cons of each - this is really important to me as its easy (perhaps particularly as a woman) to feel like service folks are salespeople who are either disrespectful to my intelligence or just trying to push me into the most expensive option. There was absolutely none of that from either of the technicians who came to our house. In fact, I felt so comfortable with them that I asked them to look at a few other issues in the house.Based on our conversations, I feel empowered to make informed decisions about possibly upgrading our panel and when and why that might make sense. If I do decide to go that route, Jon is definitely the person who I will call to do it.

    This time Carlos was my technician. He was extremely pleasant, courteous and polite. It was a pleasure working with Carlos. I had Sylvester Electric install a generator transfer switch and two inlets, one outside and another inside. My request was somewhat unique so James came to my home before the work to go over details of the work so were all on the same page. The only issue I would raise was they couldnt get their scheduling right. They scheduled me on one day, but I get a text that the technician will be there the day before. Very minor issues but I was able to communicate with them quite easily to correct or clarify any misunderstandings. Overall, Im very happy with the outcome of the work and now my home is ready for a power outage.

    A great experience. It is rare to find a company like Sylvester Electric that is truly professional. They communicated every step of the way from scheduling, dispatching and confirming. From the professional looking service vans, fully uniformed techs, clean cut appearances and friendly attitudes. James & Geo killed it.     Tree took out power line at 2 AM. Called Power company. They said gotta cut your power; you need lic electrician to fix power at house, then inspector says ok, then we come and re-connect power. So I called an umbrella electrical service organization and ended up getting connected to Sylvester Electric. By 8:30 AM (same day) Sylvester said that they would have Bob out to my house about noontime. Bob showed up on time, got my electrical fixed by about 5 PM (the electrical pipe had come off of the house, the meter was hanging: replaced all), inspector blessed the job and called the power company. Power company came about 11:30 PM, power back on about 1:30 AM.VERY SATISFIED with Sylvester Electric: demeanor of everyone involved: Molly on the phone was caring and pleasant to deal with, and Bob and (sorry, cant remember name) who showed up on time and did a great job, were quite personable and very forthcoming about the work that was necessary and what the cost would be.

    We worked with Sylvester to rewire our full home from knob and tube to modern electrical and had an amazing experience! This was a huge project with a lot of complicated nuances and they did a fantastic job. They used various tactics to minimize the damage to interiors and truly worked magic to snake the wiring to all of the necessary outlets and switches. Sylvester finished the job on time and most importantly did things the right way. They worked with us throughout to make sure any follow ups were resolved. Really a fantastic experience and A+ work. Great support across the board and a special shout-out to Rene for an unbelievable job. Really the only company we’d work with going forward.

    Carlos provided excellent, prompt, and thorough service. He was very willing to explain all options for outdoor motion detector lights to illuminate areas that can become dangerously dark at night and took time to demonstrate afterward what he had done and provided a printed label for the circuit breaker he added to the box. He completely cleaned everything and left the areas in excellent condition.

    My home was built in the early 70s and it needs its electrical panel replaced due to both its age and desire to increase its amperage. Besides upgrading the panel, several other circuits need be added to reliably quench the thirsty power requirements of computer and AV equipment. A detailed task list was sent to a few electrical companies to obtain estimates. Sylvester Electric was the first outfit to contact me the next business day to schedule an appointment with James.When James arrived two days later to assess the effort, he had already reviewed the task list and we immediately began the conversation discussing the tasks and how they might be accomplished. Besides being courteous, he explained various options in whatever detail I desired. Furthermore, he emailed a detailed quote with a couple different options on the same day. Simply amazing! Sylvester Electric has impressed me by both their responsiveness and James skillful attention to my task list. If I do decide to hire James and his crew to execute the quote, I’ll provide an update to this post once they complete the work.

    Geo and Cairo were fantastic. I explained what my issues were. They presented me with several options and prepared the invoices. I selected the work I wanted done and they were out here the next day. The quality of the work was great. They cleaned up the space great and outside of the repair work they did it was like they were never hear. Geo and Cairo were top notch.

    Sylvester Electric- could not have been pleased with technicians Ryan Sullivan and Joe Green. They were extremely professional pleasant and very efficient. When and if the need arises again for support from licensed electricians they will be the first individuals I will call. They went out of the way to explain what they were doing , the price I thought it was fair, and they were totally professional and extremely pleasant.Also wanted to complement the company for the ease in setting up an appointment there quick response to questions and even when I had to change the original time it was done quickly thoughtfully and respectfully.     Juan and his colleague were great. Very professional (and friendly with my dog). They fixed the issue quickly and explained to me what happened, why and what my options were.     First time needing an electrician, as half our house lost power. Went online, and picked Sylvester randomly, and so fortunate that we did. They arrived when they were supposed to, energetic, and ready to work. Drew and Ryan were not only professional and efficient in how they went about their business, but the rapport and banter displayed had me laughing and smiling while they worked. Its clear they enjoy working together, and it was truly a great experience. Pricing was fair for the work performed,, and everything was explained, in terms a layman like myself could understand. I was given options, without any pressure or up-selling. All in all a GREAT experience from start to finish. If I need any electrical work in the future, they will be the first and only call I make.     Carlos was very communicative about what he was doing and also when finished.I was disappointed that the technician was an hour later than the time slot of 7-10 a.m. I did receive a text & phone call after 10 a.m that he was on his way. He also had to leave to get supplies that he did not have on his van even though when I booked the appointment, I stated what needed to be done.

    Had a great experience with Sylvester Electric! Having had so many bad experiences with various handymen, I was skeptical at first but my opinion changed pretty quickly. They got back to us quickly, sent out knowledgable technicians to assess the issue, gave us a quote on the spot, then came the very next day to fix everything.     I asked this company to send reps to provide an estimate for installation and repair work to be done on my (much) older home, and they are the first of several I am dealing with - so, at this point, I cannot speak to the quality or value of their actual work. I was, however, mightily impressed with the companys overall approach to communication, the reps patience with my many questions, and their prompt/on-the-spot delivery of an estimate for the work that is needed. I have still more bids to receive and review, but based on my initial interactions with this company, I am confident of their professionalism and attention to details. They will receive serious consideration for the electrical work that is needed in my home, once the bidding process is complete.

A bit pricey, but well worth it given the consistent high quality of the work and support staff. Special praise for the work that Renee performed.     Carlos was friendly and super-polite. He came to replace outdated wiring and install a ceiling fan, but he discovered that the wiring problem extended farther than originally thought and would require a more extensive retrofit. He worked up four estimates on the spot, showing the least-invasive to most thorough choices. He was responsive to questions and open about the plusses and minuses of each option, which I very much appreciated.

    Konnor came over 3 times to do a ton of electrical work for my new condo. He arrived on time every time and went above and beyond to accommodate all my requests and did an amazing job with all the work done. They cleaned everything up back to original condition and coordinated work with other contractors to ensure everything was set up property. I had a difficult project for several reasons but they always worked around the obstacles to get done what was needed. Cant recommend them enough!

We ended up hiring a more local person who came recommended by a friend and was able to give us a somewhat better price, but we would have gone with Sylvester otherwise and would recommend Louis based on my experience.

    Great experience. We contacted Sylvester Electric to install emergency lighting for an apartment building as the city of Lowell now requires that multi-family homes of three units or more have emergency lights. Since we were selling the building, we were scrambling to take care of this new requirement as fast as possible and complete the sale. We were very impressed with the politeness, friendliness, and knowledge of the technicians who showed up. They understood our need to have the work completed as soon as possible. We received a quote on the spot, and the work was scheduled two days after the initial meeting and completed in one day. I want to especially thank Maryann (apologies if I mispelled the name) for getting us a prompt inspection and keeping us informed of every detail. We will definitely use this company in the future. Cannot recommend Ryan Cullinan, Maryann or Sylvester Electric highly enough.I want also to recommend the second technician that was with Ryan; unfortunately, I cant seem to recall his name.

    I was very pleased with Charly and Wagner. The issues needing to be addressed were discussed at length and in a way that I understood. They listed all the work they were going to do, itemized and listed a fair estimate and then were very thorough in their work.     Very professional and very honest, everything was laid out and explained, photos taken of the work done so that it is understood what you paid for, and very accommodating for your needs so that they don’t interrupt your daily schedule. Also include preliminary safety inspections for your house to give you peace of mind that you are electric situation is going to be safe and secure and reliable for your house. John Berriola was very thorough and his candid explanations were well appreciated.I am not sure how their prices compared to other options, however you can’t argue with the results, and the fact that they repaired a lot of issues where corners were cut by the previous installation, as well as how fast they work, that the prices are likely more than worth it.

    I found Sylvester Electric from a Google search to install an L2 electric car charger in my garage. The whole process was very smooth - from setting up the appointment for getting an estimate, getting quotes, following up with the office, and most importantly the actual work done.I was super impressed with the electrician who came out to do the estimate and also the work (James B) - he was very professional, really calm and measured in how he did the work, very respectful of my floors and property (e.g. he wore booties over his shoes when walking through the house, put down sheets when he was drilling through the walls, etc.) and not only did an excellent job in snaking the cable and installing the charging, but also the cleaning and patching up afterwards. I was told he has over 25 years of field experience and it really showed.If anyone from Sylvester Electric is reading this: James deserves any bonus/kudos/appreciation award you can give him - he is a gem of a person.

    Ryan Sullivan and crew were amazing ambassadors for Sylvester Electric. They reviewed the issue. (22 year old ceiling fan) blades not turning. They gave me the expectations of the possibility of not being able to get the right parts but they did not give up. They de-installed the fan to the motor exposing blade ring and found a fixable solution. Nice! I have my very old but great quality fan back working perfectly. It would of cost me $1200 to replace it but Ryan fixed it at a fraction of the cost. Extremely satisfied with the crew and all the people at Sylvester. Very professional.

    Since my last review I needed help replacing an outlet and wanted to make sure it was properly done as well as discussing with a professional about whether or not the new outlet would do what I needed.As before, the men were prompt, courteous, and answered my questions clearly and frankly. They did the work quickly and included reset buttons so I wouldnt have trek into the basement if the outlet flipped.Theyve done more complex jobs for me (see below), and in each of my experiences their courtesy, honest and patient explanations have made it a joy to have their help.I called this company for help with an outside light on my garage because they had done such great work. As before, they were prompt, professional, courteous and helpful.The company also came to my house for two different jobs. The men who came to solve the lighting problem inside my garage were great! They quickly isolated the source of the power outtage, fixed that and also took care of another issue with a loose outlet box. They were very courteous, friendly, patient, and kind.The second job was inside my house, which was built, probably in the 1930s, so it had some special quirks. It took two visits but the result was success. The men worked persistently and intelligently found answers to all the problems. They were cheerful, courteous, and helpful.Dave, who supervised all of the work on all of these jobs was extremely helpful in answering my questions about other electrical work that might be done in the house. I really appreciated his input because it saved me from making changes that could have been unwise. This information alone was worth paying for the visit.Just want to add that during the second visit Dave and his helper cleaned up all the debris from installing the new doorbell--the plaster and other stuff they had to remove in order to do the job. It was amazing!

    The technician was very professional and took time to go over the particular issue we were having and also gave us recommendations for other things that need improvements. That was very helpful. The flickering lights issue was fixed and we are happy about that. However, I found it quite expensive. They have a flat diagnosis fee. So for us it was $460 for just diagnosing the issue (which i kind of knew already so the technician confirmed that-dimmer switches not compatible with LED bulbs) plus another $500 to fix that issue(replacing 2 dinmer switches). I suppose this may be a company for bigger projects but not so much for smaller repairs.Update Next day - the lights are flickering again. Will have to call them again to get it fixed.

    I had nob & tube in my house and had several companies came to inspection. all the companies gave vague idea and little desire to explain to us about what they found and how to fix it. Moreover, the price quotes were off the chart without specified the repairing areas. However, Sylvester Electric was totally professional yet friendly to me and my husband. During the inspection process, the electrician George explained his finding and pointed out the areas and how to fix it. He updated us the end of the day what he had done and what would he do the next day. George tried to avoid to open small windows to get access. We had only one small wall opening which was able to cover with plug cover without us to pay for plasterer. George and Justine cleaned the working area daily. The company sent out text messages with pictures of the technician to notify us they were coming on daily bases. Too many good thing to talk about Sylvester Electric.     We hired Sylvester to install an EV charger. Konnor and Fred began the job and due to scheduling, Phil and Dave finished it up. The guys were all awesome. Hard working, honest, etc.And while the scheduling issues (couldn’t finish before had to jump to another job, needed to switch techs to not wait any longer) were a bummer, they are understandable considering post-COVID challenges. And the guys handled the switch without a hitch. To be fair to the schedulers, Sylvester moved MUCH faster than any of the other folks we contacted on Angi’s, so I really can’t complain.It’s hard to know what rates are post-COVID (hard to get someone to come out let alone do an estimate), but Sylvester has a subscription that is inexpensive per month, provides a 15% discount (again, not sure what market is right now) and gets rid of the service charge just to show up. Kinda like Prime, which is smart since I’ll probably just stick with them now.All in all, I’d have to give them 5 stars. The EV charger is great (the guys had to fish a long run through my finished basement) and they were a pleasure to work with. I’d recommend Sylvester highly.

    First time they came and installed a light and fan assembly in shower. Worked ok for four months then began flashing wildly when turned on. Joe Russo, who did the original installation was sent back to remedy the situation. He said a lot of water had gotten to the light mechanism. He replaced the entire assembly, upgraded the insulation to prevent a recurrence, and added a timer switch to I could easily run the fan for, say, twenty minutes to keep it dry. Excellent example of first class customer service. Its ok to have something not work first time - but its much better to honor the warranty and fix it!

    We have a flag pole on our beach with lights on top. After a heavy high wind storm. The lights on top of the flag pole stopped working. All inside service was working fine so we needed service to determine if service going to the pole was broken. Tim from Sylvester Electric responded to check this out for us. He had to reach the top of the pole to see if current was reaching the light fixture. After testing all possible connection issues it was determined that no current was reaching the light fixture. The line was broken some ware between the flag pole and the house. To correct or fix could be very costly since the pole is located on our beach across a road. His recommendation was to replace the existing light fixture on top of the flag pole with a solar powered LED light.     I needed a new 20Amp circuit breaker and circuit with outlet installed for some dedicated computer equipment. The technicians arrived, reviewed the circuitbreaker, returned with the parts they needed, and completed the install. They wore masks the entire time, and were professional and responsive. The cost was a little higher than I had expected (a little over $500 for the addition of a 20am circuitbreaker, and wiring of a single outlet within 2 ft of the panel), but I was pleased with the service.
