    We had a very positive experience with JHR. Chris and Melody came up with a beautiful design of our backyard deck and patio using composite decking, stamped concrete, and stone knee wall and outdoor fireplace. Rusty executed the plan nicely. As with most projects, there were delays in the project plan due to various reasons, but we are very pleased with the end product and highly recommend their services.

    I am a Virginia Beach attorney. We have a screened in porch and when built we used an online company to customize clear vinyl panels over the screens, but the problem with those is that you have to keep them clean and hook them around the windows with enclosures every season you want to put them up, and then remove them for the summer season plus they’re not completely airtight. So we looked into types of windows that slide up or down over the screened area. Jerry Harris has just started (2024) installing sunspace windows systems, all the panels, slide up or down or stay closed, it’s not glass windows. It’s a strong material that is actually better. You can also get it tinted and there are very few replacement parts if something goes wrong. This company is super organized, they came out in advance and went over all the details, they showed up on time as planned, and I couldn’t be more happy with the professionalism. I highly recommend them for renovation project, and I’m attaching a few pictures of the before and after of the sunspace windows.

    Jerry Harris’ team alleviated all the stress of remodeling and provided me with a wonderful remodeled bathroom based on my envision. I couldn’t be happier with the remodel outcome. They provided wonderful design assistance with the materials selections; cabinets, tile, plumbing and lighting fixtures. Their employees and sub-contractors executed efficient project coordination and workmanship. The end result was well worth the money.Sometimes it’s the small things that make others stand out above the crowd and I especially liked:1) They place a company sign in your yard. This lets inspectors, sub-contractors and delivery people know exactly which house they need to be at.2) 3D renditions of the remodeled designed space with continuous updated drawings during the design phase.3) Daily projected work scheduling information from the project manager. Some days were non-working days and it gave me the opportunity to run some errands or plan appointments.4) Accounting transparency of large budgeted items, which also included some credits back to me.I would not hesitate to hire Jerry Harris Remodeling for my next project remodel.

    This is a fantastic company to contract with for remodeling. From initial contact to completion, their team stayed on task and coordinated with their subs. My project included painting the entire interior, installing LVT in 2 bathrooms, installing cabinets in the laundry room, reversing a door, and a complete remodel of the master bathroom shower.     We remodeled our large master bath with Jerry Harris Remodeling and we couldn’t be happier. To start with, this was not a remodel we planned for, our 30 year old tile and fiberglass failed and we found ourselves with water dripping through the downstairs ceiling. I had heard great things about Jerry Harris from my neighbors so I thought I would get a quote — that quote was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Jerry’s construction knowledge is apparent immediately and he’s extremely easy to talk to. He gave me advice, let me know what the process would entail and then explained what products he uses.     We chose Jerry Harris Remodeling to remodel the shower in our master bath. We wanted the standard insert pulled out and replaced with a tiled shower. They did an amazing job! Everyone we worked with was extremely professional and listened to what we were looking for. The communication was outstanding! We always knew when they would be working and what they would be working on. They always arrived on time as promised. On one occasion we had a meeting scheduled and Jerry called to say that he would be late, but he was close. He ended up being only 3 minutes late; that’s how attentive this business is.     We hired Jerry Harris to install 2 lvl beams in our family room to replace 2 load bearing columns. While it doesn’t sound that hard, it was quite the project and we had several companies who did not even want to give us a bid after reviewing the structural engineering plans. We ended up getting estimates from approximately 5 other companies. While Jerry Harris was not the cheapest, we really liked their overall process. We’ve done many renovations before, and it was important that we were kept informed of the progress, any issues, etc. during the duration of the project. From the start, you have an initial meeting with the individuals who are going to be in charge of your project. Our project manager was Rusty, and he was a pleasure to work with. He always kept us informed of what would be happening everyday/who would be showing up to do the various work. He was very responsive to any questions we had and quick to address concerns. Like any project, nothing ever goes 100% smoothly, but we were happy with how issues were handled. We were emailed a progress report every Friday, which showed us exactly what was left to be done and the expected dates they would be finished. Prior to final payment, we did a thorough walk through and were able to make a final checklist of any items we felt needed to be done prior to them wrapping up for good. They completed every single item on the checklist in a very timely manner. Additionally, they do very solid work. They do not cut corners and the quality of their work shows in the end project. Overall, they are a very well run company, very professional and easy to work with. We would definitely use them again.

    We have used Jerry Harris Remodeling for two major projects at our home; remodeling our upstairs bathrooms and repairing and updating our living room wall.     We had called several contractors to get a quote to update our kitchen. We had worked with Jerry Harris Remodeling before to fix another contractors work and while they were not the cheapest they had the reputation and genuineness we felt comfortable with. There were a few bumps along the way but none of them were from Jerry Harris team but their vendors. While I would have preferred a schedule or timeline of the work so I could be prepared (WFH w/ pets) they were very communicative and kept us updated with everything. Everyone was very nice and didnt show their annoyance with all my questions or indecision when picking out pieces. Our kitchen is beautiful and we will definitely be calling them again with future work.

    Exceeded expectations for direct ship cabinets! We wanted a Waypoint dealer and did not have one in our area so I took a gamble and ordered direct ship with Jerry Harris Remodeling since he had such great reviews. Not only did they make our remodel a reality, but they came in 38% cheaper than a ½ dozen other estimates. We had two cabinets swapped out with minor flaws, no charge and received within a week. The designer covered the unexpected by ordering several filler pieces for us so I could have flawless custom final product. Cabinets are GORGEOUS and complete the mid-century modern look I was going for. My wife and I are very pleased and highly recommend.

    I bought a dryer for the first time. I had to get it installed. I met the Jerry Harris rep at a Home Show and was impressed on how interested he was on helping me with my small job. As it was I needed a new circuit box to handle the dryer. I was worried that the wires in my house were also old but they checked it all out and said they would not leave until it was all safe and up to code. All my paperwork was up front including the costs. They were very friendly and efficient. Made me feel like I was their most important customer that they had even though my job was small. I would use Jerry Harris again.

    Jerry Harris Remodeling completed several exterior projects on my home including: demo and replacement of a failing garage wall, replacement of rotten siding and trim, custom windows replacement, exterior door replacement, gutter and downspout replacement, and painting of entire house exterior. I was pleased with the whole work process from first contact to the walk-thru estimate to how the contract spelled out all the details of the job, including when each phase of the work would start and be completed. The crew performing the carpentry, masonry, painting, gutters etc were all experienced professionals and did everything I asked for. We had such a good experience with them the first time, we were excited to use them when we moved.Cord and Marcus were very easy to work with and they enjoyed seeing the wildlife in the yard 😊. When the accent tile was installed incorrectly he had the materials ordered and replaced in a flash. The shower floor tile had issues and required replacing 3 times to get it up to Dans standards.     I was fearful that I’d have so many of the problems and delays one normally hears about when undertaking a major room remodeling, but my experience with Jerry Harris Remodeling was pretty painless and fairly quick. My husband and I met them at the Mid-Atlantic Home & Garden Show this past April where they appeared down-to-earth and practical. Jerry Harris was someone you wanted to work with. They also had a wonderful display. When we called them for an estimate they were quick to come out. We liked what we heard, signed a contract, and they came out the next day to take measurements. We had a preliminary plan within less than a week. The actual work, from tear-out to the last detail, took only 8 weeks.We did spend more money than we originally planned, but overages were my fault since I selected extra details and upgrades. I only plan to do one kitchen remodel in this lifetime and since it’s the room most heavily used and should last until they put me six feet under, it was justified.The cabinetry was made by Waypoint and although they didn’t have quite all the options or colors I wanted (I can be quite particular), I was still able to come away with a kitchen that I absolutely love. The cabinetry is solid wood with dove-tail joints and soft-close doors/drawers. We especially love the trash/recycling cabinet and the glass doors look fantastic!All of the subcontractors (electricians, plumbers, plasterers, cabinet installers, and granite fabricators) were courteous and easy to work with. Each one of them did an excellent job and we were particularly impressed with the plasterers who performed miracles on our wonky ceiling.Every employee was polite and helpful. They were professional, knowledgeable, and considerate with answering our many questions or concerns, as well as in taking care of our home. They were consistent in performing daily clean-up.Kelly was so patient with me during the design process while I slowly worked out all the details. Did I mention that I’m rather particular? I’m also detailed-oriented down to the very last inch. He was creative when I needed solutions to one problem or another and even came up with a couple ideas I’d never thought of – and that’s saying something seeing as I’d spent the last ten years designing this kitchen in my head.Hunter did so many things from tear-out to the backsplash tile. He did a fantastic tile job even though my design had him cutting 8-10 tiles for every 2 uncut ones. He never complained about how much more work it made for him and even seemed to enjoy it. Chad did an awesome job with all the minute details of my punch list and the shelving I had installed over my bay windows really looks fantastic. Now if I could only figure out a better decorating plan for it.Dan was our project manager and he was very understanding with any concerns we had and made sure everything went to plan and flowed smoothly. The one issue we had with a corner cabinet was resolved easily with minimal stress. He always put me at ease and I really enjoyed working with him.All the behind-the-scenes folks at the office must have also done an incredible job considering how well everything went. Without reservation we recommend them and their exceptional team.     We have used Jerry Harris remodeling for several projects on our home. The first was a master bedroom and bathroom addition in 2005. A few years later we had them replace the lighting in the kitchen and dining room. The most recent job was crown molding in the living room. They always do top notch work and are very reliable. They aren’t the cheapest guy in town but you get what you pay for.

    Needed a company to remove fireplace and cap off chimney. Received several bids. Jerry Harris Remodeling was the highest by about 10%. But I went with them anyway because a friend who I trust gave them a glowing recommendation. They made considerable efforts to do the work in a clean and professional manner. They sealed off the doorways and vents in the room they were working in with plastic to keep dust out of the rest of our house. They covered the floor to prevent damaging the carpet. Took the fireplace out, re- framed area and hung new drywall. Brought in professional plasterers. Disposed of all debris and cleaned up the work area thoroughly. When the room was finished, it looked like brand new construction. All the employees were friendly, hard working and professional. They started and finished the work on schedule. Took a little over a week to complete. Very pleased with the work that they did and their cleanliness ( they were constantly cleaning up after themselves during each stage of the project ). They went out of their way to minimize the disruption to our household while doing their work. I consider them a 1st class operation and would recommend their services to friends and family.

    Jerry Harris remodeling recently replaced my tub/shower and surrounding tile with a new tub/shower with a surround (no tile). This was an unexpected replacement because the backer board in my old shower caved in and the shower was unusable. The whole job was very professional from start to finish and the clean up was perfect each day. It was a three day job. I selected Jerry Harris remodeling because they were able to get the work done in a very timely manner (within a couple of weeks of the estimate). Overall, the job was perfect, and it was a professional operation from start to finish.

    JH Remodeling provided a contract that was very detailed and professional. Offered many ideas and solutions to aid in decision making and what is best for the project. Payment increments-number of days are very precise with completion milestones. Need to ensure completion of each milestone is met otherwise write it on the sheet prior to signing and making payment as incomplete that way accountability. Project Manager was experienced and knowledgeable and managed the flow of work with contractors and ensured workmanship was met. Paying high prices for quality! Experienced a delay because tile contractor poor tile workmanship and required rework. All other trade contractors were professional and met every expectation. Overall a quality renovation was done.

    Recommended. A neighbor had significant remodeling done inside their home and when we asked, they recommended Jerry Harris Remodeling to us. We wanted to replace our front door and also the transom window above it. We had previous issues with the window and water intrusion when the wind was driving rain directly into the front of the house, and I suspected we might discover damage from prior leaks that would have to be dealt with.While we interviewed two companies (the first specialized in doors and windows), we ultimately decided to go with a general contractor that did renovations in case issues were uncovered when the existing door was removed. I am glad we did.First off, we were assigned a Project Manager (Chris Hill) who was with the project from day one. Jerry Harris Remodeling has a direct relationship with various door manufacturers and were able to make recommendations on the right product for the application (we replaced the garage side door as well). Since we were looking for something specific in the glass and side lights, they were able to contact the factory and confirm that the door and transom window could be made to match, to include arranging an appointment at a local showroom that provided us with samples.As expected, we did find that water leaks over time had damaged the sub-flooring under the hardwood floor. Chris was able to recommend the repairs needed and was actually more conservative than I might have been to ensure that first all damage was uncovered and second that the repairs would restore the structural integrity needed to support the door and floor. Chris also arranged for all the trades to come in (drywall repair, painters) but his team did the repair and renovation.The installation took longer than planned due to the repair work, but they stuck with the job and saw it to the end.Perhaps the best comment was made by a neighbor who said that she couldnt tell that the door and window were not originally put in with the house or that repairs were made.

    We first met Chris, Remodeling Consultant, at a home show at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. They provided a long list of references in their information packet and I contacted a few people I was acquainted with on the list.We had envisioned remodeling a bathroom and a master bathroom but wanted to add a laundry room. They worked with us on layout and design and created an addition with great imagination. Using some existing closets, adding an addition for the master bath and laundry room, we created a spectacular transformation to a 58 year old home. Once the plans were finalized, we waited a year before starting to develop a financing plan and plan to vacate as required for a portion of the remodel.Once we were ready to go, the on-site project manager, Rusty, was assigned, and now we have an upgraded home. We were extremely pleased with the quality. The entire team was a pleasure to work with.
