Chris and team were excellent to work with from start to finish. From the first meeting going over our exterior, I could tell they were different - made sure to repair and replace all wood rot and missing cedar shake, suggested design ideas that would help blend problem areas, updated exterior door colors and all downspouts to refresh the entire look. We love our new-old exterior on our historic home, and how beautifully done the color scheme, carpentry and painting were done! Thank you!

We live on a street in one of Charlottes historic districts. The houses are old and often include challenging details. For several years we watched Serpaco apply their craft to the houses on our street and we were impressed not only with the finished product but also the professionalism they appeared to employ on each job site. We were also impressed with how well their projects aged over time. Eventually, when time came to work on our house, we connected with Chris Gray and his team at Serpaco. Coming into the project we had high expectations but Chris and his team far exceeded those. We have an old wood paneled craftsman style house that required significant carpentry work. This was performed with an eye for detail and professional ability to create a seamless replacement/repair of the affected areas. At the close of the project Chris and his team went over the house repeatedly to ensure that all the details were addressed. We now have a finished product that is not only repaired and resistant to weather, but also clean and sharp- without visual clutter that we have seen from other vendors who rush through these projects in our neighborhood. On top of their trade skill, they were delightful to work with on this project. We will be working with Chris and his team in years to come- both inside and outside.

Exceptional. Chris Gray and Serpaco Painting are as good as it gets. Many businesses today love to advertise themselves as customer-centric and providing exceptional customer service but Serpaco redefines all that. They are in the business of delivering the *outcomes* you want. They go above and beyond and treat every project with tremendous care, focus, and generosity. They care deeply about the details. They focus on what you dont easily see (like ensuring the walls are properly repaired and prepped). This is not the super quick and cheap solution. But Chris and his team deliver peace of mind, longevity, and exceptional results. They are true partners with you the whole way. When we had some challenges with exterior color selection, Chris went above and beyond to mock up several samples with us to ensure we got it right. And the results were beyond our expectations. This is the way. Great job, Chris.

Very impressed with Chris and his crew at Serpaco Painting. We live in a historic home in Dilworth and Chris did an amazing job with our original windows. When I mentioned we were having problem with mold related to the condensation on the old windows Chris immediately said he would add something to the paint to prevent mold in the future. We had two bedrooms and a bathroom repainted and there was quite a bit of repair work on our plaster walls/ceilings. Everything looks GREAT and I am very happy with the result. Chris also honored his estimate despite there was more repair work than originally thought. Definitely worth the price, will be using Chris and his crew to maintain our older home again in the future!

We hired Serpaco Painting to paint the exterior of our home, and we could not be more pleased. Chris is wonderful to work with and does a great job explaining the process. His attention to detail is awesome, even when completing a larger scale project. The crew did an outstanding job, and only Chris noticed the small things that made the touch up list. I highly recommend Serpaco Painting and Chris Gray for any exterior paintwork. They painted the entire exterior of our home. They also pressure washed, repaired an extensive amount of wood damage, and contracted with subs to repair gutters and plumbing. The paint crew was kind, clean, and punctual. The communication throughout the entire project was excellent. I am extremely satisfied with the completed project. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

We used Serpaco last year to paint the exterior of our house. They did an excellent job. When it was time to paint the interior of the house Serpaco was at the top of our list. We have nothing but positive things to say. We wanted the job done right. Hugo and his crew were detailed and professional in every way. You could set your clock by his punctuality. Prep work was superior. Tim, the area manager, was great. While we did not know any of the employees of Serpaco before the first job we now consider them friends.

We had them paint our entire house after doing a lot of exterior wood repair had been completed and new siding installed. We apparently had some miscommunication towards the end of the project but they ultimately came through and made everything right. They did not rush their work and had a high attention to detail.

Serpaco Painting did an amazing job with our historic home. We had extensive trim board rot on our Tudor style house which required specific skills and experience to fix. Serpaco was able to replace the problematic trim boards including ones that were embedded in stucco which was very delicate work.Before finding Serpaco, I had several other companies come over and none of them were able to formulate to plan to address the issue. Some even suggested solutions that weren’t even allowed by the Historic District Commission such as the use of PVC boards. Serpaco was the only contractor that had specific experience working on historic homes.Chris Gray was excellent to work with and was very good at communicating what was being done and why. He also offered excellent suggestions throughout the project that made the finished product better including choosing a great exterior paint color for us.Most importantly, all work was done at a high quality level with so much attention to detail. For instance, replacement trim boards were primed on all six sides before being installed. No detail was to small for them to address.Overall, I’m very happy with the quality of the work done and would recommend Serpaco Painting to every homeowner.

We had our windows’ and doors’ trims, garage door, and columns on our porch painted; as well as repairs on a couple of our windows, and door to the crawl space. We appreciated that Tim did not sell us work that we do not need, but listened to our concerns and addressed them appropriately. He has an amazing team, Jose, Chuy, and Hugo, they are so hardworking, meticulous and detail oriented in their work. They arrive early and work tirelessly to keep the project on schedule. Tim is a great communicator, explained everything clearly; always emphasizing on getting the job done properly and correctly, so that the results will last for years. Beautiful job done! Thank you so much, and we would definitely reach out to Tim and his team when we are ready to paint the rest of the exterior.

Pro:Meticulous, professional, timely, excellent work product. Would re-hire them without a second thought.Con: Cant think of any, except maybe that they arent the cheapest? We tend to not hire the cheapest service providers anyway - usually get what you pay for.We recently moved to Charlotte; knew when we bought the house that the relatively recent addition needed some fresh attention to address the original painters failure to prime, resulting in deteriorating paint as well as some wood rot on windowsills and trim. We saw Serpaco Painting busy at work on historic homes in Dilworth and decided that if they can be entrusted with that work, we should at least get a quote. The owner, Chris Gray, arrived to give an estimate and we knew right away he is the kind of person we prefer to give our business to. He took time to carefully evaluate the job and give us what we felt was a reasonable estimate - he described his business as not the cheapest but not the most expensive. When the crew arrived, his crew chief, Hugo, was also personable and professional. The crew remained roughly the same throughout the job and were pleasant and polite (never saw a cigarette around them, either). They consistently showed up when they said they would, explained what the days priorities were and then followed through. Chris was onsite at least once a day to keep apprised of progress and to point out any additional priorities to Hugo and the crew, and also to touch base with us. He also provided well-reasoned advice about colors and contrasts when we asked.The job ended up requiring more woodworking than anticipated as there was some additional, hidden rotted wood. Hugo may be primary a painter but he is also an adept craftsman, rebuilding our front porch facade and column. They prepped more than any painting crew I have ever seen, sanding for about a week before starting any paint. The priming was thorough and the painting very well-done.When the job was deemed to be nearly complete, Chris came to walk around with us. He noticed the things we had noted, but also pointed out several other areas that were not to his liking; Hugo came back the next day to repaint one of our shutters that was a little streaky, and one entire side of the house that needed another coat to counter the effects of the sanding that was required (the extra coat improved it tremendously), but also to take off, sand, and refinish our front door. Although the front door was not part of the coat, it seemed that the bleach used in pressure washing the siding had dripped through the plastic-and-tape covering intended to protect the door. The refinished front door looks great, too.We are extremely happy with the finished product and suggested that Chris can keep his sign in the yard as long as he wants.

Great customer service and attention to detail. Serpaco recently completed a large interior painting project; the third full interior for me. Serpaco also did a full exterior for me, including extensive carpentry. I have hired Serpaco numerous times over the last five years. Chris and his team always deliver; he knows a lot about houses. A little higher price, but in the end, I have always gotten more than I paid for and will continue using them.
