This was the smoothest and most painless experience I have ever had with a vendor. The owner came out to the property I live at and am also Assistant Property Manager for to respond to our after hours emergency request (around 9pm). They were very easy to schedule with and arrived in less time than anticipated. They were incredibly kind and very informative on what the issue was and how it should be resolved. They went above and beyond and provided excellent service in all aspects. 10/10, would definitely recommend. Our company is going to put them at the top of our list for all electrical needs moving forward!

Update: Keifer called us back, apologized for the unforeseen circumstances, and offered to fix our drywall right away. As customers, we felt cared about and would hire this company again in the future due to their communication, transparency, and care. Wed love to continue supporting capable local, small businesses like Ohana Electric.We hired Ohana Electric to install two new circuits: one for our patio, the other for our bathroom. Owner Keifer was responsive, providing a same-day estimate and easy scheduling. He even offered to coordinate with the power company to secure our electrical box.On the day the work was scheduled, Keifer came with one of his employees and the employee was in charge of most the work done at our place while Keifer would leave and then come back to check his work. It is totally understandable as a company needs to maximize their time and workload to make profits and many other contractors we’ve worked with for different home renovation projects did the same thing.During installation, the employee mistakenly drilled a hole through our garage drywall, penetrating the other, separate side of our crawl space that couldn’t be sealed and currently had mold issues. The employees fix – a drywall bit and flashing tape – was inadequate. While he attempted to fix it, the “fix” wouldn’t be nearly as good or effective as how it was before, especially we just had our garage renovated last year. When we mentioned this to Keifer, he said the employee was used to doing things his own way, meaning not the way Keifer himself would do it. Keifer offered to come back to spray foam in the hole if we wanted. However, while spraying foam may prevent the mold issues, we’d still like the drywall to be fixed to be how it was and that option did not come up.Second, when Keifer came to give us an estimate, we were not informed that there would need to be about a 3x6 hole cut on the drywall in order to get the wire connected to the bathroom outlet from the crawl space. While we completely understand that drilling a hole in the drywall is needed to get electrical work done. We were not informed of that during the estimate appointment with Keifer and were told by the employee that it was not an option to do it via the attic because it was more difficult and drilling a hole on the drywall to connect the wire from the crawl space was what he was told to do. Again, we also completely understand that if that was the most time-saving, cost-effective, or even the best possibility the company could offer to complete the work we needed, but we wish this was communicated to us clearly upfront that they would not enter the attic at all even if it could possibly cause less damage to the drywall.We understand that some drywall damage is inevitable during electrical work, especially in older homes. However, we wish we had been fully informed of the potential extent of this damage and that wiring through the attic was not an option. We also believe Keifer should have addressed the accidental garage hole damage, either by offering to repair it or acknowledging, during the estimate appointment, that he would not be responsible for such unforeseen issues.Despite these concerns, we appreciate Ohana Electrics punctuality and the completion of the electrical work. We are now able to use our hairdryer without tripping the circuit!

We hired Ohana electric to replace our electrical panel in Seattle. We found out after hiring Ohana that they had never replaced an electrical panel in Seattle before and so there was a bit of a learning process of how the permitting process goes here. Keifer was persistent and did a great job sticking on it and getting the panel replacement done. He and his assistant worked diligently to get our entire panel installed and inspected in one day which was awesome! We really appreciated their hardwork. A couple hiccups to note: they ran out of caulk and so we were left with an unsealed penetration into the house (not too big of a deal considering we’re working on a few other exterior projects right now), one of the circuits was never connected inside the box and so after I noticed that they came out the next day to fix the mistake free of charge, and finally they installed a different panel than they had put in their proposal (not a big deal to the average home owner I’m sure but since I do most of my own electrical work on our house I was disappointed by that).

Kiefer was great. I bought a new induction cooktop but needed another breaker for it as the old cooktop shares power with the oven. Had three quotes and Kiefers was the most competitive but the quality of work is outstanding. Kiefer is deliberate which is what you need with this kind of work. Took his time in game planning the job before carrying it on. Hes also very flexible and has 2nd and 3rd option when he encounters unexpected obstacles along the way. The day of our estimate appointment, Keifer sent us a range of estimates and scheduling details. Since I was eager to get started, I greatly appreciated how quickly I received these things and didn’t need to fish for them.Over the next few weeks, we communicated regularly about prices, pros and cons of different box makers, etc.. Keifer helped us decide on the best option for our needs.The week we scheduled the job, my husband and I caught covid. Keifer was flexible and understanding as we kept rescheduling until testing negative.Our job was scheduled during one of the hottest weeks all summer. Keifer was undaunted and personable through it all.Some peculiarities with our job meant we needed to make some snap decisions. It’s snowing outside; freezing out. Our 10-year-old water heater starts leaking. We call in a company and they install a brand-new water heater. They pack up and head home. An hour later, our water’s still cold. 10 hours later, our water’s still cold. The next morning, the water’s still ICE cold. After an excruciating shower, we call the company back.A different crew comes by and tries for hours to fix it but just can’t figure out how to make it work. They say it must be an electrical issue as they’ve eliminated all other options and that we’ll need to call an electrician to figure it out. We ask why our old water heater worked fine with our electrical set up but this one doesn’t. They don’t know. They wish us luck and tell us to keep them posted on what the electrician says.It’s now well into the afternoon. We call an electrical company. Then three more. Half of the companies don’t answer their phone. The others can’t fit us in until the next day. The prospect of another freezing shower looms on the horizon.We call the next company on the list, a smaller company with great reviews. We connected with Keifer at Ohana Electric and he was able to come by within a couple of hours. He immediately got to work and pretty quickly figured it out. The water heater company had made a mistake during their installation involving one small piece causing the water heater to not work. He fixed it. We now have HOT WATER.Keifer was experienced, thorough, and efficient. He communicated information in an easy-to-understand way and answered every question. He even offered to speak with our water heater company if needed. His pricing was clear, up front, and fair. We will absolutely use Ohana Electric for our future electrical needs.

Finding a contractor for your home can be daunting, and frankly difficult. I run a painting business and can be especially skeptical at times. Kiefer is a breath of fresh air. Kiefer was fast, friendly, and responsive. He specializes in smaller projects and on the spot fixes, so he has greater availability for urgent matters and is not completely booked out for weeks in advance. We had a blown outlet w/ breaker in our kitchen and he was at our house within 24 hours. I highly recommend giving him a call.

Keifer was great. He was very responsive and did excellent work bringing my kitchen electrical further into the 21st century! He added 2 new pairs of outlets, repaired another that was well past its prime.He also relocated an outdoor outlet and changed 3 ceiling light fixtures for me. All in all I would highly recommend his services and plan to call him when future projects come up!
