I was skeptical of the idea of a monthly warranty/maintenance service at first, but I have been with PreFix Austin since they started offering services. Prefix was referred to me by the real estate agent that sold me my home in 2019. I felt that this was a much better option than a home warranty, because - why wait for something to go wrong? The preventive maintenance idea is what sold me.In addition, they have referred other professionals to me that perform work outside Prefixs scope of services (e.g., plumber, HVAC) - this has been invaluable.And, I have hired some of their staff to perform additional services (painting, handyman, etc.).I recommend them to everyone I know.

We have been with PreFix for a year now and I’d give them 10 stars, if possible! Their service people are amazing! Everyone has been both friendly and most importantly, KNOWLEDGEABLE! My husband and I are in our 70’s and cannot climb ladders to replace lightbulbs or smoke detector batteries in our soaring tall ceilings. Also, twice a year they change our A/C filter, fridge water filter, clean our garbage disposal, dishwasher, washer, dryer, lint filters - everything necessary to keep well-maintained appliances! As well as the twice a year “preventative maintenance”, they also offer other services such as electrical, plumbing, carpenter, even “handyman” services. HIGHLY recommend!!!

These folks are HEROs!! They have saved us so many times over the years. We LOVE PreFix. My service tech just came out today for our preventative maintenance Friday AM. He caught our clogged AC condensate line before it overflowed. A stitch in time, saves nine! Thanks to PreFix we avoided water damage from a backed up condensate line, we avoided damage to our AC, and most importantly we avoided being without AC during this extreme heat!On a separate occasion, a PreFix appliance technician did an innovative fix to our old washing machine that we couldnt get parts for... Weve gotten so much more life out of that machine. For a $40 service call, we avoided having to buy a new washing machine. This is a smart and valuable service!On another occasion, a PreFix technician fixed our garage door!All the technicians are wonderful! Each person is knowledge, communicative, and honest. I always feel comfortable having them in my home.Its so nice to one number to call and have competent folks take care of things promptly. I dont have to spend a whole day trying to trouble shoot house drama. Thank you SO much!!!

We’ve been using PreFix for several years, ever since they first opened up in Austin. They have helped us out with so many home improvents over the years. To name a few, they installed a mantle for our outdoor fireplace, replaced ceiling fans, and have given us advice and feedback on so many of our appliances. Some of the things they do include check/change batteries for fire alarms, change water filter in the refrigerator, clean the dryer vent and so much more. They complete routine maintenance every 6 months and then if there are any issues, they offer to assist with taking care of those as well. He was very informative and so kind. This company comes and checks your appliances, things around the house, and has a repair man come to address the issues. Ive been with PreFix for quite a while now, and its wonderful. Every PreFix person who has worked at my house - putting up blinds, fixing plumbing problems, installing ceiling fans and lights, putting furniture together, doing maintenance checks, and more - has been excellent. Knowing that I can trust PreFix to help with the never-ending problems that pop up with my older house, at a reasonable and consistent cost, has given me great peace of mind. And I want to thank Sergio, who came to my house late on a Friday afternoon to fix a plumbing problem that turned out to be a cascade of problems involving aging pipes and fixtures. He told me he was staying until he fixed it all for me, and he did.

Sergio feels like a part of the family. He is personable, professional, and peaceful. My wife has a much better peace of mind knowing that our house will be taken care better than I can by ourselves (and so am I). We normally wait around the calendar for family or friends with know-how to show up to do things beyond my competence, but it feels way better to know we have a neighbor close, when our brother is far away. We left our visit excited (and relieved) for our next PreFix visit.

Its really nice to just have one number to call for just about anything that can go wrong with your house or the things in it. Its also really nice to have someone clean your fridge coils and your your dryer vent. I regularly did that myself before I had PreFix (I didnt). Its also particularly nice for a rental property -- so many things I dont have to deal with myself.

We’ve been PreFix customers for over a year now and are huge fans! They’ve done an outstanding job with all of our home repair and handy person requests especially our home manager, Sergio. Not only is Sergio very professional, friendly and great at what he does but he is also extremely knowledgeable!A few months ago, we had to have a plumber come out to help resolve a larger issue. Sergio troubleshooted the issue, fixed as much as he could, and then Prefix coordinated a plumber to come out on the same day. Weve had Pre-Fix for our home about three years and it is very reassuring to have experts one can call on a moments notice. They have done many jobs at the house--weather stripping, replacing grout, fixing dishwasher gasket, recommending house painters, recommending tile repair folks. Weve always been happy with those results. Sergio is our new home manager and was quick to fix our washing machine when another tech inadvertently broke the timing mechanism when doing routine maintenance. Pre-Fix took responsibility, Wayne came immediately to investigate on a weekend, and then Sergio came on a holiday to begin the repair. He communicated clearly throughout the process, and even fixed our dryer handle-which had been broken since before we moved into the home--in the process. No one in my family is skilled at home repair and we are grateful for this service!

I heard about PreFix by getting an advertisement mailer. I went to the website to check what they were all about and was amazed at the concept and business plan. After the introduction call from Dean, I signed up the same day.My first job for them was to replace a faulty Garbage disposal and all the pvc piping under my sink. I was able to get an appointment in less than week. Sergio did a super job and completed it all in less than 2 hours. I will never go back to one of the so called expert home repair companies Ive used over the years. I would have paid more than double the price for the same job if not for PreFix. Sergio, my home manager, is always super communicative, efficient, friendly, and focused on the long-term view of home care, explaining what he’ll be doing, how to prevent issues, and brands he trusts.And prefix, y’all make it super easy, with text messaging, predictable service fees, and DIY scheduling. There’s a monthly membership fee, but that comes close to breaking even with what my recurring tankless water heater flush would cost with another contractor, and is included with their preventative care.Mostly? It’s just great to not have to wonder which contractor I’d contact for what maintenance service I’d need, who will come (it’s mostly my same guy), and no phone tag for scheduling. Highly recommend.

I dont know how I was ever a homeowner before PreFix! The twice-a-year home maintenance check ups give me such peace of mind that Im doing everything I can to keep my home in good shape. I have had several service calls as well, and the team members are knowledgeable, prompt, efficient, and service-oriented. They have helped me become aware of issues I didnt know I had, and they quickly resolve the ones I do. If they dont immediately know how to solve a problem, they actually do the research and get back to you - no need to hunt them down like other home maintenance providers. I am so grateful to be a PreFix customer! The monthly fee is nominal and honestly a no-brainer for everything we get.

I signed up in the fall of last year. I had the fall maintenance which was great, they cleaned out things I would not have even known to check. Recently we had some items that needed attention. I contacted them and our home manager Homer came over and repaired grout in a bathroom, fixed a window seal, fixed a bathroom vent and offered solutions for some doors that needed repair. I strongly recommend PreFix, it will be well worth your money and time.

I really can’t say enough good things about my experience with Prefix and in particular our experience with Aaron! To begin Aaron first came to check out our newly bought home, changed all the filters and helped us with some questions we’ve had. So far we’ve asked him to come out about once a month since then to work on electrical projects amongst many other small things and he’s done them amazingly. I’ve probably saved hundreds of dollars if I would have had to gotten an electrician or pay other specialists. He even recently helped save our furniture piece that we thought we had to replace. Being a new mom (that works full time) in a new home he’s truly been a life savor and we enjoy when he comes over to work on things.

The services included in the preventative maintenance often go overlooked for years (hello blowing out your dryer vents) and then usually pop up on home inspections when you go to sell. This is a great way to put basic, inconvenient home maintenance on autopilot. The water and air filters they change for you and are included, and essentially pay for PreFix for the year.Prefix is not only an incredible value, but the maintenance technicians are highly professional and knowledgable - Wayne was awesome when he came to our home. Our shower handle went out this morning and water was pouring from the spout with no chance of stopping on its own. My husband and I even tried to use a wrench to tweak it... to no avail. We live in North Austin and especially with the recent winter storm plumbers and supplies have been scarce. I was worried we would have to turn off our water until tomorrow, waiting for the first available plumber but thank goodness for PreFix! They managed to come SAMEDAY within and hour of us calling! Initially they said they wouldnt be able to send someone out until tomorrow but they underpromised and over delivered!Our rep Zack was awesome! He was friendly, professional and went above and beyond to fix our issue. He even went to the store to look for the necessary parts to fix the issue. He was very personable and became friends with all of the cats in the house haha! We would absolutely recommend this companys services!

On a lovely Wednesday evening during the heat apocalypse of 2022 our HVAC blower motor decided to retire. I call one of the often advertised air conditioning services, they sent a tech who took nearly a hundred dollars said I would hear back shortly. They called back the following Monday afternoon. On Saturday I called another widely known service, their tech came, looked, and said my system was too old (17) and could not get parts. On Sunday night I sought a referral from Rheem online. PreFix responded.On Monday morning Nathan Harris, HVAC Service Manager for PreFix arrived. I know many will be skeptical but on my honor this is true, he carried with him to the attic a bucket, yes bucket, of tools (not as others who used just a flashlight and tablet for processing credit cards.) I followed to the attic, wondering just what an HVAC tech would do with all those tools, well Mr. Harris opened panels poked prodded and tested here and there, then will the skill of a brain surgeon he reached into the fan wheel and extracted a very substantial piece of debris that had been lodged in the fan causing friction and strain on the blower motor. He left and returned after fighting his way through Floods and traffic with a new motor and working tirelessly by 6:50PM we had air conditioning. Myself, over 70 and my spouse not over 70, were ecstatic.I cannot adequately describe because 5 stars is not enough, was it cheap ...No....but it was a fair price and it was earned. Any amount charged by folks who do nothing is too expensive, PreFix earns their fees. My highest recommendation to Mr. Harris and PreFixThank you Nathan Harris, I suspect he had a suit with a big S and a cape in his vehicle, he sure does in our hearts.

We love Prefix! It makes landlording so much simpler! We make full use of the semi-annual maintenance and the on-demand repairs. Our rental property was built in 1971 and has TONS of honey-dos that we’ve “been meaning to get to.” Well for $40/hr, Prefix is getting them done 👏👏👏 Plus the monthly fee covers all the regular maintenance stuff that you feel like you should do, but probably don’t ever do — service the AC, clean refrigerator coils, etc. Sergio is the best technician!

Wow wow wow wow. This place is the last stop for home maintenance. You dont need to go to another stop. Thomas Crowling was a wonderful technician. He came to fix our cabinet and didnt say a word while doing it. Which meant alot being a single dad with a sleeping baby. When the baby woke up he even offered to help soothe her. It meant alot but I said no because of the sawdust.

I use these guys in my home and rental properties. They have been a huge time and money saver. I no longer have any deferred maintenance at home because I am too busy and my tenants get prompt service right away rather than having to wait for me to respond to their texts and emails. As an example, one of my tenants was not reporting issues for a while as she was busy, but when I got PreFix she had 5 things fixed in one afternoon which would have normally taken three different trade pros and twice as much time and money.

I would like to thank PreFix and let their customers know what type of company they are. During the Covid 19 they were looking to protect their employees and customers by purchasing and wearing masks. There are plenty of people at this time making masks for profit. They however purchased from me knowing that when they bought one they were guaranteed that I would match the number they bought with an equal donation or exceed it. Thanks to PreFix I was not only able to match but exceed that donation. Today I donated to a crisis center in my town 20 masks. They were operating with zero and today are covered. I have also donated to a few elderly and handicapped because of them. It matters to this company to do the right thing to not only staff and customers but to their community as well even when they think no one will know. This is a company that truly cares. UPDATE - 28 November - Last Friday I did receive a call from Dexter who facilitated a work order appointment that was less then a week away. Grateful for the followup.Additionally, I had a conversation today with who I assume is someone among the leadership and he was gracious enough to apologize for the confusion. As it turned out, they mistakenly gave me an appointment link attached to a calendar they deactivated due to some internal changes in personnel. This in my view is a reasonable mistake thus there is no need for me to hold this against them. For this, I would recommend that when links are sent off to customers, the employees should verify that the link is correct and has reasonable amount of appointment options for their members to select from. With all being said, I am now very relieved as I deeply value the service Prefix provides and their willingness to make this right has given me the confidence to stick with them for hopefully the long run. So 1 stars to 5 for their efforts to make this right!---- Below is the original post.It breaks my heart to have to write this but I am on the cusp of cancelling my membership. I requested service today for what I consider a very simple task and after a reasonable back and forth with an unknown customer service rep, I was given access to a calendar to schedule an appointment. The thing is there were no appointments available as far as July 2024 (is it November now) in their system. Id look longer but the system shows week by week availability. Thats over $300 of membership payments I would have to wait not considering any potential emergencies I may have. I replied quickly to the unknown customer service rep and there is now radio silence. The value proposition offered by them is something PreFixInc needs to abide by such as, 1. Home Manager is a friendly face you’ll come to know and trust. That means always being certain of exactly who’s in your space — beyond having a positive personal relationship with them, you can be confident in the fact that many are respectable and decorated military veterans I dont know my home manager as I tend to receive emails from an unknown customer service rep. 2. We’ll do our best to schedule your service visits in a way that makes the most of your time and money -- Upon discovery of no appointments available in the San Antonio region for at least the next 7 months, I responded to the email and there was no reply to acknowledge this. 3. We’re available by phone and email seven days a week from 8AM to 7PM. Within 24 hours of submitting a service request, you can expect to hear from your Home Manager team to schedule an appointment While I did hear from the unknown customer service rep within hours of my email, I have yet been able to schedule an appointment. Again- this is extremely disappointing in which I theorize that their systems are incorrect or they are truly incredibly busy in San Antonio or they perhaps lack workers in the area. I am not sure, but it sure hurts to know I am paying a membership fee with this issue. I am now looking for another service provider that can at least offer reliable communication. So my advice to anyone reading this, the offerings that prefix offers is incredible in theory. However, they may be too overwhelmed or understaffed to service the San Antonio region adequately. If you were to give them a try, carefully examine their response time in terms of how long it takes for them to schedule an appointment. It is likely that the onus would be on you to schedule through their software system and if the system is broken or calls for an unreasonable wait time ( 2 months or more - but over 6 in my case), I would strongly recommend that you dont join. I will most likely cancel and wait until they have improved their response time in a way that does offer true value for the membership. We had a water leak in our master shower and PreFix was able to send a technician by the following day. Rodney the technician took the liberty of buying the necessary brand specific parts based on the photo I had provided. He even texted me when he was in route. When he arrived he was professional and courteous and walked me through the issue. He even gave me pointers on how to fix the problem if it happens again. From start to finish, about 30 to 40 minutes to replace cartridge for leaky shower faucet. Very impressed by the level of service. We highly recommend Rodney! Thank you Rodney for the A+ service!

This is the most awsome service. For $40 a month PreFix, Inc. takes care of everything that my house needs maintenance wise. They come buy twice a year and service you HVAC, drain your hot water heater and service washer, dryer, dishwasher, disposal, refrigerator. They supply and change all light bulbs, air filters and smoke alarm batteries. Anytime something goes wrong the are here to fix it. It is like have a repair man perpetually at the ready. They have regrouted my shower, reprogrammed the garage door opener and repaired my ice maker for an additional cost of $89. They make owning a home easy when it comes to maintenance and repair.
