Mike and his fabulous crew took on a large project at my residence which entailed replacing a lot of old wood around the windows of my 1964 Northwest Hills home, plus repainting the entire exterior top to bottom. Not only did they do a fantastic job, Mike had his crew really organized in terms of scheduling the work in the proper order, taking detailed notes and photos, and letting me know of any additional issues as they came up. Every house project always spawns more ideas for changes and Mike was super helpful in doing some interior work (removing some old doors and creating archways), and even did a great job power washing my standing seam metal room when it came into my mind that maybe that needed to be done. He is currently helping me select and go through the process of replacing my front door as well as installing some sliding doors that lead from the kitchen to the patio & outdoor living area. He is very detailed, focused, caring and truly wants the best for his customers. I trust his word 100% and he will be my go-to person in the future for any additional nutty home improvement ideas I might have. I had an excellent experience with Mike and his team.

Mike was great. He took a look at our balcony and porch posts and was quick to point out that what we were seeing was nothing to be alarmed by. His honesty and professionalism is top notch. Mike and his crew did a fabulous job replacing many boards / power washing / re-staining. My deck looks like new! They were extremely professional and took a lot of pride in their work. They were very clean and careful with my carpeting, if they had to come through the house. I think Mike is very honest and a great person and his team is fantastic. CCWW worked on a project recently to replace all of the siding, windows, and the front door on our house and some other repairs including painting the new siding. Mike and his crew were professional and great to work with. I was especially impressed with their excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. Even though parts of our wall framing was not straight from when it was originally built, they were able to improvise and fix it so the horizontal planks went on perfectly flat and it came out great looking. There were a few other issues related to how the house was built that came up but they always figured out a solution so the finished product would look great and stand up to the weather.Mike kept us well informed on everything from the time I received the quote until the final walk through at the end. He always kept us up to date on what they were working on each day during the project and consulted us whenever a decision was needed on how we wanted something to look. They also stayed on schedule even though it rained a few days and we decided to get some additional unplanned repairs done during the project.Mike takes great pride in his work and makes sure every step of the project is done right and it shows.In the end, our house looks brand new and beautiful. We’re really impressed with the job they did and highly recommend CCWW!

We discovered a termite-riddled header above the garage door so the project came to an abrupt halt. Owner Mike Griffin came to the rescue, expediting the replacement of the header so as to secure the garage. Claudio and his crew were great guys and did an exemplary job of taking on the challenge and I would gladly have them back for future projects! (cant seem to post some photos)

Mike and his crew are nothing short of outstanding! They were creative when building our composite deck and made something of beauty when done! When we need adjustments to cut the bench they built around the tree growing in the middle of the deck they respond immediately. We love our deck and this company - highly recommend!

Mike and his crew finished my new deck today and I couldnt be more pleased. The deck they replaced had been build in 92 and was in bad need of repair. They demolished that deck, carted off all the debris, and built me a somewhat smaller but nicer one. After a several week waiting period so the wood be ready for coating, they did so today and it looks really good. I would recommend Mike and his company in a heart-beat..!

Mike and team did an absolutely fantastic job of bringing our deck back to life. The whole process was seamless with respect to being on time for the estimate appointment, providing the estimate within a few days, and scheduling out the final work. The walkthrough was very detailed and several options provided (no pressure felt). The crew completed the job within two days, cleaning-up any debris leftover and leaving it ready to go. On top of that, Mike came out some time later to review a few spots that had peeled and offered to send a staff back out to remediate the issue (not necessarily a function of craftsmanship but the Texas sun). I would highly recommend this organization and will be tapping them on the shoulders again for future work.

We had Claudio from Capitol City Woodworks install baseboards and window trim out at our house and I could not be happier with his work! His attention to detail, craftsmanship and tidiness was impressive. We were able to consult with him on an area around two windows where we were just not sure what cut and thickness of trim would look best. Claudio made a recommendation and explained why he thought it would work best and how it would be the most aesthetically pleasing outcome. Also, over the past year we have had a dozen different contractors at our house and when they leave, I have a HUGE mess to clean up. Claudio was so clean during his work and swept up afterwards! This is not the first time CCWW has done work for us and it will not be the last- absolutely recommend them for woodworking inside and outside!

If you are looking to have wood work done, let me tell you about my experience and why you should work with Michael.First of all, if youre just looking for something quick and dirty and you want to skip permits and cut corners, probably not the guy you call.I am a very picky, extremely detail-oriented person. I have high expectations, and I get really mad when people tell me theyre going to do something and they dont do it. I also think that too few people nowadays dont take pride in their work. Michael exceeded all of my expectations. Here are some details.We were having exterior decks on the upper and lower level of a condominium complex rebuilt. Over the course of a long period of time I tried to meet with an interview no fewer than eight different contractors. A number of them didnt even show up to the appointment, and those that did so they have a quote back to me soon and 5 days later I had to follow up. also, most of them told me that I didnt need permits or could do this or could do that. Then I met Michael at Capital City Woodworks. After meeting him, we signed to move forward. As a commercial property, we had a very complex process of having to get permits and engineered drawings. Michael helped us throughout the entire time. He led the process with us and kept us informed all along the way. After long rain delays, they got started on the job. They did everything the way you hope people would do it. They took time and care with everything they did. Top quality materials, top quality craftsmanship, and they even did things above and beyond that I didnt ask for in terms of trim and finish out. They didnt just slap up a deck, they even sanded down the rough corners and truly made it beautiful.They were not the least expensive quote that I received, but they also were not the most expensive. And, Im not sure its possible to have done a better job so I honestly feel like I got the very, very best job at a very good price.So, if somebody asked me to list the things that I experienced in working with capital city Woodworks, heres my list:1 Responsible2 honest3 detail oriented4 do what they say theyre going to do5 high quality work6 above and beyond expectations7 knowledgeable8 actually left the work site cleaner than how they found itI could go on but you get the picture. When you work with somebody on something that is a bit complex (and our situation was more difficult than the average) and they meet every expectation and exceed most of them, its just rare today. Capital City Woodworks did that for me.

Mike and his team did an amazing job on our house. They replaced two wood columns on our front porch that had rotted and begun to sag, which was causing issues with our front door and the interior of the wall next to the porch. In addition to replacing the columns, they reset our front door and did significant repair work to the drywall on the interior of the house. It was a tricky job that needed to be handled delicately, and Mikes team did incredible work every step of the way. Communication was always good and they completed the work quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend Capitol City Wood Works for any project.

Mike G and his crew helped repair my deck which started collapsing in slow-motion after the February freeze in Austin. It turned out that almost all of the support pillars had succumbed to moisture rot long ago and werent really holding much weight! CCWW were the only contractors I spoke with who gave me a detailed, itemized estimate. We found additional items after taking the deck apart and all of these new details were explained to me and documented as well. The project took 3+ weeks and the end cost was a bit higher than expected but totally worth it -- I feel safe with my kids & dogs playing out in our back yard again. Thanks, Mike!
