We had the pleasure of working with Nick Rodriquez with PWHI to turn our old deck into a beautiful screened in porch. Nick is very knowledgeable and assisted us in designing our beautiful porch, he guided us along the process smoothly and always answered us promptly if we had any questions or concerns. Our original plan was to interview several different companies but after our first meeting with Nick we decided to go along with him, we did not interview any other company. Everyone we worked with at PWHI was always ready to assist us throughout the whole process. We will recommend Nick and PWHI to all our neighbors and friends. We are extremely thrilled with our new porch and will get many years of enjoyment using it.

Our deck is our new favorite spot in (on) our home! The construction team worked impressively efficient. They arrived at the same time (give or take a few minutes) every day and left at the same time as well; their dependability and job site manners were appreciated. I also appreciated Patti reaching out each day with a project update keeping us up to speed with the progress of construction. I encourage you to be VERY thorough and ask an absurd amount of questions to your salesperson. Have them very carefully explain every single detail and make sure youre both on the same page before you sign. We had an issue that surfaced once we received the cad drawing and while it was a pain to get resolved, Luis offered a resolution that we were happy with. I will restate that we absolutely love our deck, and will consider PWHI for the next two phases of our outdoor projects.

A pergola with hanging egg-chair anchors the corner making it a relaxing, and fun, place to hang-out (will be painted white after wood cures) >> Thank you PWHI for a marvelous job -- especially Lucas Nash (sales/design) and Will (craftsman, working in 100 degree July heat!) plus headquarters specialists, techs, admin and managers.

This company has some of the best and most responsive customer service I have seen! From start to finish, if I had any questions about my deck or patio, Nick Rodriguez, our representative, was there with an answer or fix! The quality and efficiency of the build and build process was top notch and my wife could not have been happier with both the patio and deck. The payment plan was easy convenient to use as well. Weve had a wonderful experience with PWHI. They were very professional and made the process quite seamless. It took around 10 days from demolishing the rotten deck to constructing the new one as well as the floating deck addition and stairs. We notified them that we will be out of town when the construction of the deck will begin- so they provided pictures of the progress. They were very accomodating! The process included obtaining the permits, dealing with the HOA, and inspections. On top of it all, we were very satisfied with the results. We spend our time outside more often enjoying our beautiful deck.

We had a wonderful experience with PWHI! The project went smoothly from the financing to permit approval process to completion and we were kept informed of all the steps along the way. They designed our deck/gazebo and incorporated our ideas and feedback beautifully. Jeff was our designer and took his time to meet with us twice to finalize the design. Miah started the permit process and kept us updated until approval. Angel and Moises managed the construction phase and quality control along the way. Rudys crew made the build happen timely and efficiently even when the weather was not as cooperative! I appreciated their attention to detail! Patti was very helpful as a contact person at all times throughout the process and to get a quick response whenever we had a question about anything. Thanks to the whole team!

I meet with Darren Cox who was the sales representative for Prince Willams Home Improvement (PWHI) in January 2024 to discuss adding a screen room and deck to my home. Mr. Cox was very professional as we discussed the size of both projects, materials used, deck under carriage and timeframe. After the contract was signed, a permit was submitted to the county, I received a blue print of the project and documents submitted to HOA. Once everything was approved, I received an email informing me of the start date. This project took a little over two weeks to complete. I received a daily email informing me of work to be completed for that day. The project manager Angel and the Quality Control Lead was in constant communication with me. The quality and craftsmanship of the screen room, deck and deck under carriage is phenomenal. The crew arrived daily, work together and very detailed oriented. This added addition to my house will give us years of enjoyment. Again, the quality and craftsmanship and attention to detail is top notch. If any who is contemplating about getting deck and/or screen room, please reach out to PWHI, you will not be disappointed.

We needed a deck built for our new construction and we went with PWHI because of their reviews and because they’ve been around for decades and seemed very professional. The design process was very thorough and we were able to see exactly how the final product looked on the computer before signing off on it. The permit process was easily and after approval it was built within a week! I was very impressed with the construction process and the work crew. There were a couple small issues nicks on the trexs boards we saw after they were done, but we sent a quick email and they were replaced within a day. Customer service was fantastic.It was a great experience all-around with this company and the final product looks fantastic, is built extremely well, and will last for decades!

Prince William Home Improvements (PWHI) did an outstanding job in replacing our old multi-level decks with an incredibly well designed, new, screened-in, two-level deck with an A-frame roof. They initiated the process by sending their amazing representative, Akash Tailor, to our home to meet with us. With Akash’s excellent communication and sales skills, and his thorough knowledge of deck construction and products, he was able to walk us through a proposed design based on our vision. He also reassured us of the competence, integrity, and follow through through-out the construction process. He also accurately calculated the costs and provided us with a well-constructed contract.He was able to immediately and thoroughly comprehend our design concept and was able to translate that into a polished draft rendering. Construction started and was completed on time. As a further incentive for us to sign the offer, Akash promised a firepit coffee table upon completion of the new screened in deck. He had the firepit table delivered immediately timed with the completion of the project as promised. The construction team of three men were highly skilled and did an absolute spectacular job in making a beautiful enclosed deck with a walkout open area for grilling and steps down to a lower-level deck. Other important team members that handled a myriad of other important tasks in such a professional and friendly manner included, James, Olivia, Patty, Christopher, Angel, and Mike—all were stellar individuals!Based on our exceptional experience with PWHl, we would highly recommend their services to our family and friends.Sincerely,Nick and Judy

I’m a new homeowner with a deck built by this company, and I think they did a great job! However, the deck didn’t come with a gate. When I reached out to inquire about adding one, I was told it couldn’t be done unless I committed to a larger project, like adding a pergola or a cover—just to get a gate.Frankly, that turned me off. I only wanted a gate that matched the deck, but it seems this company is more focused on upselling larger projects rather than accommodating smaller, standalone requests.If you’re considering them, I’d advise you to tread carefully.Update: They reached out to clear up the misunderstanding and offered to sell just the gate, which I can purchase à la carte or have them install for me.In my view, they’ve redeemed themselves.

I appreciated the frequent communication from Patti in the office and Angel the project manager, including when they couldn’t make it due to weather. The porch is already my favorite room in my house and I cannot wait to use it for years to come.

During the month of July 2023 we had our old deck removed and replaced it with a screened in porch. We signed the contract with PWHI in June and it took a few weeks, as expected, to get the building permit approved.We were very impressed from start to finish. When Nick came out to explain what they could do for us he brought with him all of their licenses and proof of insurance. This made us feel comfortable about the quality of their work and over all professionalism. We also of course checked them out with the BBB.From the start, Patti notified us every day what was going to happen all the way through the completion of the project. Even before the actual work began, Patti let us know how the building permit was progressing. The men worked from 8 AM until at least 6 PM 5 to 6 days a week until the project was completed. Jose and his fellow workers were great.The Fairfax county building inspectors were very impressed with their work, including the work of their electrical subcontractor. They basically said they never had any problems with Prince William Home Improvement’s work. One minor issue we had was they brought out the wrong make of shingles. When we notified them about this, Nick wrote back within four minutes to tell us the correct shingles would be brought out as soon as possible. As near as we can tell the quality of the work is top notch.They stand by their work even after the work has been signed off as completed. A week after the job was completed and they had been paid, we found the gutter was not properly lined up. We notified PWHI and they had somebody out within a few days to fix it.Wayne and Jennie Johnson

We first heard of PWHI at a home expo show. Curtis came out to our house for a consultation; he was super knowledgeable and very passionate about his job. He went over the different products, workmanship dos and donts, and how PWHI would deliver our dream deck. While we werent able to pull the trigger on the project due to budget constraints, we were sold on the company and its work ethic. For anyone looking to redo their deck, give PWHI a call. You wont regret it!

PWH folks were a pleasure to work with. The actual crew Ronald, Mauricio and Miguel that built the deck worked on ours through the coldest week this winter and I was truly surprised by the sheer dedication to their work. Overall they were very professional and finished the project in a timely manner. The only reason I took out a star is because two of the planks didn’t match in color during the initial installation and Google doesn’t really let you give 4.5 star.They had to come down a couple of times to fix it. It probably would have been caught the final day of the project if not for the windy and below freezing temperatures that they had to work with it. We are totally satisfied with our experience with them.

After initial issue of material vendor placing materials on my grass, everything was amazing. PWHI came out and put grass seed down on the dead spot. I noticed a few spots about a month and half after installation where the handrails were uneven (potentially due to ground settling or something) and they came out and fixed it. We are extremely happy with our deck and the finished product is beautiful.

It was not my initial plan to go with PWHI due to a bad experience, poor customer service, no quality control or follow up when they installed our original deck almost 20 years ago. We scheduled appointments with 3 top decking companies in the area. We signed with a company that convinced us to reduce our existing deck size and settle for composite materials of lesser quality to save us money. We had 3 days to rescind that contract and on the final day the sales rep.,Akash, for PWHI showed up. I have to give him a lot of credit for knowing his craft, the quality of the materials and the quality of work his company produces now and for listening to us as the customer. He was able to match the style of deck we wanted and give us all Trex material PLUS made it wider and was able to keep the length of our original deck as we wanted and within our budget. We didn’t have to settle for less! I was very skeptical signing with PWHI a second time but the experience this time around was phenomenal. Everyone involved in our project from Akash to the crew and Oscar our project manager were so good at keeping us in the loop along the way. There were multiple levels of QC along the way even after the project was completed. We are very happy with our deck and it looks beautiful! I’m glad Akash convinced me to give them another chance he was spot on and we are extremely happy!

I was able to get my credit union to raised my card limit so as to combine two payments. Happy to help and to recommend.

I was just blown away at how easy and stress-less the whole process of getting our deck done was. Starting at the sales appointment, Lucas was amazing! He explained the process, answered all of my questions and was able to find options within my budget (12’ x 27’ deck). Then came a warm hand off to preproduction…Miah explained the process, did all the permit paperwork and submitted all documentation needed to my HOA. I did nothing! Then in to production..Angel was very communicative of the day plans and any deviations from the schedule. The crew kept the area clean and safe, they did a phenomenal job. The accounting division made it easy to make the payments as outlined in the contract, and their quality control guy was pickier than I was! He found a couple tiny things and they crew came out immediately to fix. In the end…for a major project I had no stress, it was streamlined and I was always made aware of what was going on. If you need or want a deck…I can’t recommend PWHI more!!

My deck construction with PWHI was one of the best contractor experiences Ive ever had. They built a large, elevated composite deck from scratch in just 10 days. The production manager and operations manager provided me 3 phone numbers and emails for pocs, so I always had ready access to someone in the time between signing the contract, approving the drawings, and the start of construction. I had the same build crew of 3 guys every day and they were very responsive to all my questions and requests. Highly recommend.

The patio they did for us is serving us well, but ever since they installed our deck, the room adjacent to the deck floods whenever it rains. I called for help but they just deny the deck is related to the room flooding. Ive had a contractor come confirm that the water is pooling on the deck and entering through the wall. Still no repairs or adjustments have been made. I have to clutter the deck with containera to catch water. Lord help us when it rains through the night and we dont wake up to empty them. We need relief!After I posted the message above, the company contacted me and sent someone to fix the leak. The problem was easily resolved when flashing, was installed along the side of the deck that was adjacent to the family room. I have seen 17 rain storms, including a 4-day deluge, since the repair and not a bit of water has entered the house since the strip called flashing was installed. Now, I can enjoy and appreciate my deck.

We recently had our wooden deck replaced with Trex and added a screened in porch. We were very satisfied with our experience with Prince William Home Improvement (PWHI). The initial sales representative, Mr. Jeffrey Seidel, was easy to work with and very attentive to our vision of what our deck should look like. The administrative staff member, Ms. Cra’Shae Curry, tasked with staffing the deck plans for HOA approval is the best we have ever worked with. Additionally, the day-to-day updates from Ms. Patti McConnell were very good and informative though out the construction process. The almost daily face-to-face interaction with the quality control point of contact, Mr. Christipher Jackson, was greatly appreciated and informative. The demolition and construction crews were excellent, they are true craftsmen. The subcontractors: electrical and gutter installers were very polite, respectful, and very skilled craftsmen. I contracted PWHI for my new deck build November 3. I was pleasantly surprised when they reached out to me a couple of weeks later with a start date of November 20. I don’t have an HOA which aids in the speed of the start date is from what I understand. The deck that I had them build was not a small deck, it was 47 feet wide and 12 feet deep, with a cat walk going to my home office and garage. I had several estimates from other companies and they all had different price ranges, some cheaper and some in the same ball park. The reason why I went with PWHI is because I felt they had the manpower and ability and the experience to build this deck better than any other contractor. Not all decks are the same, and the quality and the experience of the crew that I had were exceptionally good. I own a plumbing contractor business and my experience in construction extends over 30 years in the trade. As a plumber we are familiar with many aspects of Construction. I will say this and say this again because it bears repeating, not all contractors are the same, just because they are cheaper is no way shape or form to choose them. If you want cheap you will get cheap, this crew and this company literally hit the ball our of the park, the deck that was built by PWHI has far exceeded my expectations and the skill involved and the craftsmanship and the detail of the rails and the deck. I am exceptionally pleased that I went with them, and again I will say this again and again, they were not the cheapest but I was not looking for cheap, I wanted the best, and they gave me more than what I expected. If you want cheap do not call them, they don’t do cheap. This company and this crew are the best of the best, and thats my review and I am sticking to it.

We invested in an outdoor build (2nd story deck, screened room, under deck pavers) going on 15 years ago. I noticed the Trec pieces were popping up. Called for an estimate to see what repairs would cost. They came out, found rotting wood. Reached out to us about the warranty on our original wood with a plan. They worked with the original suppliers to get warranty replacement wood. Fixed and repaired through warranty! While some people think the company can be expensive compared to others, this is the 2nd time we had warranty work done and covered. The crew were respectful. Kept us informed on progress. Cleaned up (including leaves we had under deck in the area they worked). Awesome interaction overall. I highly recommend.

I’ve also been very impressed with the clear communication from the other staff members Carlos, Alejandra, Matt, Juanita, and Jessica.Crew started early on a Monday and they finished in less than four days. Hard work in the sun and heat but they hardly took a break. They cleaned up EVERYTHING! Quality inspectors showed up each day to check on progress. I had them come back the following week to smooth out the grade and plant more grass seed. We’re really happy with the results.

PWHI replaced my deck and built a new patio. This was a very large project with deck about 440 sf, patio about 725 sf, and new walk to the deck of 72 sf. PWHI demolished and removed the existing wood deck and a concrete slab where the patio would be placed. The deck is all Trex; railing and posts are wrapped in white with black aluminum balusters; posts are lighted, there is a 12 x 12 pergola and the underside has a ceiling with gutter and downspout. The patio is E.P. Henry pavers with fire pit, and 29 and 21 sitting walls. The appearance is spectacular! The deck crew was composed of experienced craftsmen and the patio crew were artisans in the way they set and cut the pavers and built the walls. Their quality control team regularly inspected the work. We are very pleased with the final product. The price was in the range I expected, but probably on the high side. Progress was a little slower than promised and their home office administration was sometimes a bit difficult, but in the end, they did all the right things. I have been an engineering/construction project manager for many years and know I can be a difficult customer, but I found the quality of work to be very high. I recommend PWHI.

The initial presentation was first rate, the design staff provided an excellent plan and the office staff has given us routine updates. We live in Montgomery County MD and they have some very strict and some would say peculiar zoning issues. PWHI has handled all of it and has done a wonderful job. This company is terrific! I cant say enough about them. An initial appointment is made and a representative comes to your home. In our case, the representative was a former builder with his own company for many years. I felt comfortable that he really knew this business inside and out. He brings all his documents and samples. We chose all our products and signed the paperwork. We wanted the TREX system and, of course, its more expensive than traditional wood, but OH so worth it. This company does not sub-contract out. All of their employees work for this company.Once you commit, leave it all to them. You wont be disappointed. Our finished deck is beautiful, well-built, and will last for many years.

Recently we had Prince William Home Improvement (PWHI) install a deck. We are happy with the deck and glad we chose PWHI for the work. The process started with advice from Mr. Lucas Nash, our salesperson, who helped us design the deck. Once the plans were finalized the document signing process with Medallion Bank is pretty efficient. Instructions are clear and the forms are easy to access and navigate. We selected our design in July 2022 but the project (demolition) didn’t start until the first week of Dec 22. PWHI was very responsive with our Homeowners Association when the HOA requested additional information when the revised deck plans were submitted. Once we got pass the County permit/zoning and the actual work started there was good things went very smoothly. Once a particular element was complete, i.e. framing or footers, PW county Permit/Inspection team was on site to provide their part and work moved seamlessly. One of the practices we thought demonstrated organization was their ‘hand-off’ from one team to another i.e. pre-production to demolition then the install team. This ‘hand-off’ procedure seemed to start and end at the same point. It started with a Ms. Patti McConnell, at ‘Pre-production’ and she was our contact person at the end asking for our feedback on the entire process. There have been a number of persons weve communicated or worked with and every person at every stage has been customer focused, meaning, we felt listened too. Our desires or complaints may not have been resolved but the demeanor and behavior of your team was professional and accommodating. Another practice we believed demonstrates attention to detail and customer service is the practice of your quality control/inspection teams. There were two events at the end of the project that I’d like to share as how PWHI demonstrates great customer service. I think it was Mr. Oscar Suarez that was out for the final inspection on or about Dec 23rd. We were going over the work and discovered a 24-foot downspout (serving as a discharge for a sump pump) had not been put in. This caused the install team to have to deconstruct part of the deck to accommodate the downspout, dig out a 24-foot trench, and bury the downspout. Mr. Suarez said he would have it changed, and he would also ask the carpenters to create a small access panel (in addition to the main gate to get under the deck) to allow access to some plumbing under the deck. On or about the 28th of Dec, Mr. Christopher Jackson, an inspector, came by. He was inspecting the work area and taking measurement of the deck. I recall he checked each baluster for stability, and inspected specific areas, on top and under the deck i.e. the corners, miter cuts, cupping boards, the lattice, drip edges. The detail work around the deck looks first rate. The two carpenters that put this up did great work. They always seemed focused and all about the business of getting the job done. The carpenters were professional and technically proficient. I was impressed with the level of customer service with Mr. Suarez and Mr. Jackson and the competency of the carpenters. They wanted to make sure I was completely happy with the work. At the end of the project, I had one concern. The installation of the electrical outlet. The electrician arrived o/a 4:00 PM. I thought it was late in the day to start because he’d have about 40 minutes of daylight. Installation of the outlet required a wire to run under the deck to feed power from an installed outlet to the new one. He didnt have adequate parts. It was too dark and muddy to check any of the work that evening. The next day I find the new supply line/wire is strung under the deck but not in a conduit. I realize the installation of the wire may be to code as it’s under the deck, but I anticipated it would have been in a PVC conduit based on the other work done. The install of the actual electrical outlet on the deck looks pretty good. Thank you PWHI.

The original placement of the materials were in front of the wrong garage. With a simple 2 minute call to the home office, a delivery guy (name not remembered) was back at our house, apologetically moving the materials within a hour 😀. Talk about Customer Care. Then we received a call that another customer canceled their appointment and we were offered to have our deck completed a week earlier than originally scheduled! He was very thorough about the steps needed for what we initially wanted to do. This made us rethink the area we wanted to use and decided to go with a different angle.
