The McNallys team did a great job restoring our covered porch, installing railings and screening. Additionally they refinished the hardwood decking. The work was done very well, and were happy with the result! Looking forward to our next project with them.

We had an excellent experience working with Stephen McNally and the team he put in place for our home remodel. We purchased a fully carpeted split level home that had not been updated since 1966. Our daily communication was excellent, and Stephen never left us wondering about an answer to a question or a comment. He was timely, patient, informative and we believe he knew exactly how to work with us as customers. We relied on his expertise in several instances. We did a lot of work -- the entire interior was painted including closets and ceilings. We tore up all the carpeting and discovered original wood floors which were refinished and now look new. We installed brand new flooring in several rooms as well. We removed the old kitchen to the studs and Stephen presented designs for our new kitchen which we watched evolve into exactly what we wanted. We replaced a 12 foot picture window in the great room, had asbestos abatement completed in one area, installed new recessed ceiling lighting, tore out an old sink in the laundry room and modernized the all the washer/dryer connections. If youre considering hiring a general contractor, you should definitely give McNallys a call.

Steve has done so many projects to maintain our house since 2018. He is recommended to me by my fellow church goer, Evelyn (that says a lot!) so I know how dependable, fair and most of all, how he does excellent work... Be it outside ---fixing our fences, the walls of our house, replacing the shutters, putting handle bars in my mothers bathroom so she doesnt fall and just making our house in tip-top condition. Nowadays, its so difficult to look for someone whom you can trust and rely in both small and in even bigger projects. However, I can always count on Steve and his team! Very easy and pleasant to work with! I highly recommend him.

Were very pleased that we selected McNallys Modern Maintenance to complete our outdoor painting project for our front and back entranceway porch overhangs.As part of the estimate process, Stephen McNally did a thorough walkthrough with us of the work to be done, advising us of what would look good, how to match the paint, and the best way to make the work last.We were kept in the loop when the spring-time weather necessitated schedule changes.The team was pleasant to work with. They were a seasoned crew who did a great job, worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves without a drop of paint anywhere it shouldnt be.Thank you Stephen and the entire McNallys Modern Maintenance team!

I have hired Stephen to renovate both a master bathroom and kitchen. Stephen has many high quality trades people to bring to any job you have around your home. I cannot say enough to describe what a pleasure it is to work with Stephen and Jean, one of his tradesman. Stephen is very personable, always arrives on time, finishes a job when he says he will, is easy to reach and responds quickly to all your questions. He clearly explains the stages of work that are needed and keeps a very close eye on all the jobs while they being done. He will always offer suggestions, making sure a job is done correctly, leaving no messes, unfinished tasks or loose ends behind. Because I had worked with Stephen in the past and knew what a high integrity businessman he is, I had no problem trusting him to complete my kitchen renovation job all while I was out-of-state. We were new to the neighborhood and needed our dining room ceiling restructured along with a skylight removed which meant roof work also. Stephens reviews were so positive and his promptness of getting back to us was welcoming, not only initially but throughout the entire process, a quality lacking in many contractors. Ryan, who was assigned to our job, was always prompt, professional and helpful in the decisions related to the project. Steve has contacts with many excellent tradespeople and has brought quality teams to work quickly on every project. He always responds timely to every call, does what he says he will do, and on time. If you have a challenging situation, he knows people who can handle it properly. He provides complete documentation of all materials and work on each project. He also keeps extensive records and can provide documentation of every project he has done for us over the years when we need it. Highly recommend Steve and his company to handle any home project you may need to have done.

He felt their rates were fair and reasonable and the quality of the wood work was excellent. They were my go-to for general maintenance & household repairs for the next 16 yrs. We had to replace large window and area around it that had significant water damage due to bad installation by a previous contractor. We were very pleased with the prompt service, problem solving and attention to detail from the courteous crew of McNallys Modern Maintenance. When the project got more involved, the crew altered their schedule and got the job done without delay.The interior finish work was very professional completed and the window and surrounding area looks like new!

Ive known Stephen for a number of years. Hes done many projects for me including electrical and plumbing. Recently he and his crew have completed a major project getting my house ready for sale. This included upgrading the basement, painting upstairs, removing built ins , carpentry and electrical and flooring.Stephen is very professional and responsible as is his entire crew. Many thanks to Ray and John and Jeanette for all their terrific work. All the work got done in time for the pictures, preview and listing of the house. Everything was always done on time. My mother and I have been using Stephen and his crew for many, many years. I went to School with Stephen and have known him since we were both in the seventh grade attending Watkinson School. Stephen and his crew of very professional workers, have helped me, and my mother especially, keep the house in tact. Prior to my mother moving into her apartment, she had Stephen make many changes to the house. For example, updating doors, painting, replacing the roof, among many other things. Since I live in Boston, I have always felt comfortable knowing Stephen and his team will take care of my mothers home when Im not able to come home for various projects. Even if its Christmas Day night and our foyer ceiling is leaking, or our pipes have frozen on a freezing cold day, or we have ice dams, or we just bought a new house only to discover neither our cars dont fit in the garage, or All of the Above! And the great-idea projects we have done together over the years - a beautiful new kitchen with enlarged windows overlooking the golf course, an expanded family room and garage-entrance mud room, and a new full bath for our lower level rec room. In a nutshell, through the ups and downs of life, McNallys is always there for us.

Had a crew in to do 2 rooms....the original plan was to sheetrock over the plaster walls because we thought the plaster had cracked (it was wallpapered over) They managed to save the plaster walls, resulting in a lower cost and less work time, yay! They were also gracious enough to save a part of the wallpaper that my Dad (who passed away a few years age) had put up over 20 years ago.

We called Steve about a leaky toilet in our 90-year-old tiled bathroom. Mitigation involved going through the kitchen ceiling, a job our regular plumber would not handle. Steve found the best men to open the ceiling, fix the problem, and repair the ceiling at a reasonable cost and with the least amount of inconvenience to us. We have appreciated the many jobs Steve has done for us over the years.

Over the years I have used several different contractors/handymen in the West Hartford area but McNallys is definitely the best experience I have had. They did some renovations to my garage (new interior walls and paint) and it was very well done and at a very fair price. Communication was great every step of the way. The total cost actually ended up being less than the estimated cost. Honesty like that is not something you always get with contractors. I will definitely be using McNallys again for future home improvement projects.
