    I recently had the pleasure of connecting with JW Shaw Electric after watching a video on YouTube where JW warned about the risks of EV fires caused by poor installation or inadequate equipment. As a new EV owner in Pennsylvania, I was concerned about the quality and safety of my own charger installation, so I reached out to him for advice. Even though he’s based in Minnesota and I’m in PA, JW went above and beyond to help.After my initial email, he immediately scheduled a video call with me to review my installation setup. He took the time to carefully research my equipment, check the manuals for my charger, and even made a follow-up call to ensure everything was in top shape.     Excellent work and craftsmanship. The JW Shaw team installed their state-of-the-art Level 2 EV charger system, circuitry & safety fuse boxes, additional meter box, and the cutting edge EV Glide integration. Great ergonomics and ease of use. Installation went very smooth in 1-day, even with me having to work all day and my wife out of town.     Joe and his assistant Austin arrived on time and were at all times courteous, efficient, and in one word EXCELLENT!!! They successfully and in less time than expected, connected my Tesla charger in my garage! I cannot thank them enough! They went far beyond what was expected of them!👏👏👏🤗

    JW was extremely helpful in providing advice for my EV charger install. I was not able to use them because I had already committed to another supplier. If I had contacted them first I most likely would have chosen them for their experience, competence, knowledge and concern that the install would be not only up to code but truly safe. I talked to JW directly and he provided valuable advice even though he knew he would not get this job. I plan to go to JW first for my next electrical project.If you are installing an EV charger talk with JW first and get a quote!

    JW came out and gave me a quote to install a 240V line for our Tesla. I got quotes from other electricians and he was the most informative and the most cost-effective of all the quotes I received. I always recommend everyone shops around because you never know, but I can confidently tell you he was below his competitors and above par in his personal and professional demeanor. Can’t wait to use him in the future for larger electrical projects as well.

    The best compliment for the contractor’s work came from the City Inspector while approving the work. Was very pleased with the the whole process - home visit to provide a quote, a reasonable quote (it is relevant to point out that the few quotes I obtained were pretty close to each other), providing a timeframe for starting and completing the project, and most importantly sticking to the timeline. Overall, extremely satisfied with the execution and results. Will hire the company again for any future electrical projects.

    When I bought my Tesla Model Y, JW installed my home charger system. His meticulous approach to technical accuracy of installation was superb, he was on time and to the point from installation to certifying the system from the city. JW and his crew know the job very well and they do phenomenal work which works error free and safe all the time. JW never lets his customer down, he kept me updated with new developments in LEVEL II charges and associated recalls and made sure the hardware was updated so we do not see any issues while home charging. Besides learning about JW’s work through personal experience, what I was most impressed was his knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, material science and his applied pragmatic solutions he developed and proposed in the EV industry. He appeared on MUNRO Live to share challenges with in-field and home charging that has immense value to end consumers, his contribution to consumer viewpoint of safe and functional charging system installation is highly commendable.     I looked around for someone that could help me install a TESLA wall mount charger and JW was the perfect person for the job. He was very professional about going over all of the details of the installation and everything to do post installation . On the day of the installation, himself and his crew worked closely with myself to ensure that the wall mount was installed in the correct area for a clean look. After the installation, the city approved of his excellent service and was able to setup the additional meter with DTE without any problem. Highly recommend them for TESLA wall mount chargers!

    Friend at Ford recommended JW. Had two previous quotes that were crazy and no confidence they could do the job.     I had a great experience with JW Shaw Electric for the installation of my EV charging system. JW gave me a great education on what needed to be doe and happily answered all of our questions. On the day the work was done, JW and his two assistants worked very efficiently to get a big job done in a relatively short amount of time. JW was also great about guiding us through the process of working with the township and DTE. We talked to a couple of other electricians about EV installation before we met with JW, and it was clear that he knows this kind of work better than anyone else in town!

    We had an electrical catastrophe from a lightning strike that caused a lot of electrical damage in our home. Joseph Shaw, the company owner, responded to our call for help within hours.     Excellent service. Joe and his crew gave us a fair fixed price for doing the EV Level 2 installation and although they had a very rough time (took them several hours) to get from the panel to the garage due to the nature of house construction, they persevered and completed the job. Despite all the extra work, Joe kept to his price. Also impressive was that he indicated upfront that there may be an upcharge of $150 for an unanticipated location of the charger. When I pointed out to him that his final invoice did not include the $150, he said that there was no conduit put in and so there was no additional cost.He spent all the time that was needed to explain what they were doing and never seemed rushed to do the job. I have to compliment him and his crew for the professionalism and honesty. He stands by his value for customer service.We will definitely call him if we need any other work done and without qualification recommend him for all electrical work.

    Great experience and team. JW helped us make an educated decisions about what we needed for our charger and wiring, and installed everything in a professional and timely manner. I’m so excited to have my charger in the garage. They even helped us deal with DTE, because we had an issue with our house electrical box, which wasn’t ideal, but turned out ok in the end - that part was above and beyond the original scope of work.     5+ stars for J.W Electric. -- We had a complicated case with installing our EV charger. This saint of a man explained everything to us before we hired him. He didnt try to rip us off, like others have. We didnt need to get DTE involved, which we did before we found him, and they were absolutely clueless and inept, and unresponsive. Luckily he used to do work for them, so he knew how to handle things, so we were able to let him take the reins. We hired him and he got to our job in a reasonable amount of time.We had an issue with the inspector (a real stickler), and J.W., who is a master electrician and basically one of the pioneers of installation around here, dealt with it that week. On the second visit it was all approved.I had an issue with the charger I purchased, a Tesla for non-Tesla vehicles(J-1772). He came back 3 more times to try to help me figure it out (it was not his fault at all), and enlisted the help of some top electrical engineers to figure out what was going on. He is such a gem that he brought his own electric vehicle here to test it to make sure the issue wasnt with my car. He even took me driving in my new car to show me some pointers! It turned out to be the Tesla charger, which I would not recommend!I cant thank J.W. enough for his kindness, patience and mini-lessons on electricity. Be sure to hire a master that knows what they are doing. Do NOT use a level 2 charger without installing it. Ive seen so many people online who have had fires! It is necessary to hire someone to do this. J.W. is your guy!
