I had an amazing experience with Mel Foster Electric! I’m a first-time homeowner and was nervous about hiring someone, but he made me feel completely comfortable. He installed a motion-sensor light in my backyard, fixed the issue with the old wiring, and even took the time to position the sensor so it covered both my yard and the back door. That extra attention to detail was so thoughtful and much appreciated! He was incredibly responsive, arrived quickly, and did excellent work at a fair price. On top of that, he’s very friendly, honest, and has a great sense of humor, which made the whole process so easy. I’ll definitely call him for any future electrical work. Highly recommend!

Mel and Rodney came over to install our new pendant lights this morning. They were amazing! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They worked quickly and got the job done correctly (the previous owner had done an interesting DIY job with the pre-existing lights). Mel gave great suggestions for which bulbs would look best in the new pendants. They then walked around with us to discuss future projects we have in mind and provided good suggestions for those as well. We will absolutely be using MelFoster Electric again.

Mel is amazing at what he does. I was having a very serious electrical issue (which was also a huge safety hazard) at my home I recently purchased that required PEPCO to get involved as well. Mel worked directly with PEPCO and did what needed to be done to get my repair completed way sooner than expected and I havent had a single issue since. I wish I found Mel sooner because he really went above and beyond. The original electrician I had look at this issue was not nearly as knowledgeable. Highly recommend Mels service if youre in need of a reliable, master electrician.

Great experience! Coordinating a time was easy and when the technician arrived, he was fast and was easily able to identify the problem and fix it. There was some follow up work that he offered to do later and I wasn’t sure when we would be able to schedule it, and he called right after leaving and offered to go to the hardware store, pick up the part, and complete it right then. All in all, great experience and we will use them again.

We called Mel Foster Electric LLC in a pinch. We were having some waterproofing done to the rear foundation wall of our home. When the DCRA inspector performed the preliminary inspection he insisted we get a GFCI outlet for the sump-pump asap. It needed to be installed by the time the water proofers returned to pour concrete. Mel Foster Electric LLC fit us into the schedule for prompt and reasonable same day service. After a brief interruption of power he then installed the outlet and secured it to a stud. He also combined two separate light switches for a more aesthetic look. The Electrician was professional and respectful of property, leaving no debris or trash. Mel Foster Electric LLC provided exceptional service and we will be calling him for our next project.

Lawrence, Ray, and Rodney brought their expertise and craftsmanship to our house to diagnose some circuitry issues, install new recessed lights, and install light fixtures and an outlet outdoors. They were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and professional. They were responsive and clear in giving the estimate, able to get the work started pretty soon after we finalized what we wanted, and adapted well on the fly when they discovered unforeseen issues/lighting housings that I hadn’t bought the right fixtures for. Lawrence and his team have become our go-to electricians. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Lawrence and his team at MelFoster did an outstanding job on a whole home renovation / condo conversion. He completed the groundwork and new meter installations, fulling installed new wiring and two electrical panels and all the fuses, outlets, and lighting for more than 20 rooms in total and two full kitchens and all appliances. He was a valued partner on the project, drawing from his experience to offer suggestions on what fixtures would work best and even spotted some issues before they became problems. He interfaced with Pepco and the DCRA inspectors with patience and expertise. I appreciate the guarantee he provides and trust that he will honor his warranty. Though this job was hundreds of hours of work, I would also call on him for smaller tasks as well and look forward to working with him in the future.

Lawrence did an EXCELLENT job. My compressor died it was a 2006 unit. I had another contractor replace the compressor. Once he replaced the compressor, there were some wiring problems and the contractor called his partner LAWRENCE who is a MASTER engineer. He came out worked his magic and explained everything he did. He even talked with the Pepco technician via phone to reset the thermostat.Lawrence is responsive, professional, shows you what the problem is (a big + for me) and knows his work and his prices are untouched. He is a MASTER electrician. If you have any electrical problems, installs, etc. I highly recommend him. GREAT WORK 👍
