We were very, very pleased with our experiences with Scopewell! The company connected us with local skilled contractors to complete a room renovation in our 85+ year old home in Shaler -- and at a competitive price. The project involved removing an interior plaster wall, relocating electrical outlets and overhead lights, building a new wall, and adding a closet to our specifications. We were supported by a knowledgeable project manager from Scopewell who coordinated all aspects of the renovation and worked on our behalf to move the project forward, answer our questions, and advise us as we made decisions at different phases of the work. We also were given access to a secure online portal where we could monitor progress, view pictures, and access contract documents. One of the best parts of Scopewell is their unique operating model. They put our full payment into an escrow account and held it until we authorized its release to the contractors at the end of the project. This approach gave us peace of mind that the work would be completed correctly and on time. Tom, Ryan, and the whole team were easy to access, accommodating, and clear communicators from bidding to the final walk through, which helped to alleviate any potential stresses of a major home renovation. They also took careful steps to meet our familys needs and keep the construction area as clean and safe as possible for our 4 year old. Thank you so much to Scopewell for making our vision a reality. We were quite happy to have chosen Scopewell for our new porch roof. A contractor that actually stays to the budget and is clear with the costs is always appreciated however rare to find. Ryan thinks of all the details and keeps you informed every step of the way. -

We first learned of Scopewell “pre-COVID” in early 2020. We liked their bid but had to delay during the COVID shutdown and then for several months while our daughter and her family moved in. After that period we learned that our Scopewell contact had left the company leaving our job somewhat unfulfilled. Quickly thereafter the Scopewell owner, Jack, and his associate Elah stepped in to get our project back on track. Once the cabinets and flooring were ordered construction began promptly and continued mostly uninterrupted until completion. We were very pleased with the construction crew and the responsiveness of our new Scopewell contact. Remodeling a kitchen is very disruptive to your daily life, but Scopewell did a good job keeping the stress to a minimum. -

My husband and I used Scopewell this past fall to remodel our kitchen, which was in dire need of a makeover. I found them on Home Advisor and was very upfront about the timeline I expected for the project as I had heard horror stories about contractors taking over six months to finish a renovation. We had met with other contractors but my husband and I immediately connected with Tom, feeling that he could work with in our budget and timeframe and believed that he would be honest with us through the course of the project. Even with unforeseen challenges during the renovation Scopewell honored their commitment and the kitchen was finished in three weeks. The primary contractor Karl was very friendly and efficient. Tom and Ryan kept the project moving and the entire experience was smooth. Everyone who sets foot in our kitchen is extremely impressed by the quality of the work and the design. I have recommended Scopewell to other friends who are looking to have work done to their home and we will certainly be using them in the future. -

I had my kitchen remodeled and had an all around excellent experience. Tom Knouff was extremely reliable and responsive. I liked having a detailed contract that outlined the time frame, as well as the scope of work, subcontractors and payment arrangements. All of the subcontractors were also dependable and did nice job. I would definitely consider using Scopewell for future home improvement needs. -

This e mail is from Joe Amore on my nephews google account.Contacted Tom Knouff of Scopewell about repair work on the molding of my home and a drain pipe sticking up out of the ground in my back yard. Tom came to my house reviewed my requirements and sent me a timely proposal.The proposal met my requirements and the price was right. Advised Tom of my intent to go with Scopewell. Tom advised on a window of time that the work would be completed.Scopewells project Manager called me in the middle of that time window and advised when their guys would show up. He came that day as well.Dave and Dave Jr. came to home and completed the work in a timely manner. Scopewell did a great job finishing my basement. They did exactly what I asked. All the subcontractors were good and it was nice to not have to deal with timing or getting materials. The drywall guy came back no less than 3 times because I was whining about the seams and certain spots on the walls. My favorite part was that there was an actual contract and everything was detailed with costs. -

We had used scopewell a few years ago to have a retaining wall rebuilt and we were so happy with their work that when we wanted to have a large wraparound patio built onto our house, we knew we would want to go with them again. The project was a difficult one, with some tricky hill sloping and doors that set at different distances above the ground. Jack consulted with a variety of different professionals to figure out what would be best, and he did not stop until he found a professional to contract the work to who clearly knew what they were doing. Jack oversaw the project to ensure that it was done up to standards (both industry/safety standards as well as my own) and any time we ran into some issues, Jack immediately was on the case and had calls made to many places to remedy the issues. While the project did take a little long to get done due to having to consult with so many contractors, we feel glad that Jack took the time to make sure that it got done properly. His administrative assistant, Maggie, is lovely too, and was always available when we had questions along the way! Oh-- and our new patio is so beautiful, that neighbors from multiple doors down have been walking over just to see the incredible beautiful work that was done! Friends who have been over so far are blown away by just how beautiful it is. We would absolutely recommend! -

What a great General Contractor to work with! They always pay on time and schedule projects to fit within our schedule. There’s always a clear line of communication on every job.
