    If you need to replace your aging HVAC system, look no further than Max Heating and Cooling. These guys are the real deal. Dans appraisal of the work needed and his estimate was clear and straightforward. The job was not going to be easy, my air handler was built into my bathroom ceiling, requiring partial removal of the ceiling, but Dan said he would send out his best guys and get the job done. The job took three days and I honestly gotta say that I felt like I was saying goodbye to two new friends when Brandon and Joe cleaned up the bathroom and headed out the door. They did a great job and when I texted Dan a couple days later to say that I had noticed a very slight, but annoyingly audible whistling coming from my duct work I had Brandon and Joe at my door two hours later. To fix the noise, Brandon rewired the air handler to run on low, instead of high, and the problem was solved. Cool air now flows out of the duct work with barely a sound. Great job, great company, and great people!

    So grateful for Max! They came through last minute to move our condenser unit, during hardscape construction after another company dropped the ball. Less than 24 hours the amazing Stacey had me on Dan’s schedule, less than 24 hours after the amazing Dan came through the crew is here moving the condenser! The price was right and so was their demeanor! Great service and just in time!

    Our AC broke during a heat wave (of course!), and Max Heating and Cooling was the only company that actually returned our call. They were even able to fix our machine in the same day. Highly recommend for their responsiveness, professionalism and just being really friendly in general.

    Max Heating and Cooling is outstanding.My old heat pump system wasnt working, so I contacted one of the big companies in the Boston area. Their guy came in and wouldnt even look to see what was wrong with my unit. They immediately told me that I needed a new system and quoted me an outrageous price. They told me that they needed to rip out all my walls to put it in.I wanted to get a second opinion, so I put a request through yelp. Dan, the owner of Max, emailed me within an hour with his cell number. Stacey, the office manager, called me first thing the next morning and sent out Joseph, who did a careful analysis of my system. It did need to be replaced. Paulo came out and did an outstanding installation, over 3 days, staying late on a Friday night to complete it. My walls were all kept intact. And the price was MUCH lower than what the big name company quoted me.DEFINITELY USE MAX!!!!! Feel free to contact me for details.

    My AC stopped working the first day of a massive heat wave. Tried calling the usual big companies, and they wouldnt send someone out. Called the number for Max, got connected to Dan (the owner), and he sent someone out within a few hours. Joe carefully diagnosed the problem, and unfortunately I needed a new unit. Dan got me a prompt quote for a new unit and sent someone out the next day to install! Paulo got the system up and running in no time; the workmanship quality was high. Oh, and the big company replied with a quote after Max had already finished the installation! 10/10 Max is my new goto HVAC company.

    Max Heating and Cooling did a terrific job diagnosing and solving our AC problemand our hot water leak. Dan came on time and efficiently knew what to do to fix the AC system and the hot water leak. He also was so professional in answering our questionsand very pleasant and helpful. We also had our yearly furnace cleaning by Greg who was also very efficient and professional.     My husband and I went with Max Heating and Cooling for the install of our electric heat pump/central air system and heat pump water heater and have been very satisfied with the results. After a year, the system and water heater are still going strong and performed spectacularly well during last years sub-zero temperatures, despite us not having any sort of supplemental heating system at the time. The team did a phenomenal job during the install process and went the extra mile in making our basement look cleaner and far more organized than before the work even started. Additionally, Dan and Stacey were more than happy to provide various revisions of the paperwork we needed to submit as part of our MassSave heat pump rebate application. Dan and his team have been nothing short of amazing and we are happy to work with them again for the install of our supplemental resistive heating system.     I cannot say enough good things about Max Heating and Cooling. Our HVAC stopped functioning this month, and I was tasked with finding a company to fix it. Having dealt with truly awful contractors in the past, I always find this task stressful. I called around and spoke with a few places. Even though Max Heating and Cooling‘s diagnostic fee was higher than other places, ultimately I picked them because from the initial phone call, I could tell that this was a professional, trustworthy company.I first spoke with Dan the owner on the phone, and after hearing what was wrong, he provided initial steps to troubleshoot the problem and help streamline the home visit. Scheduling the service date and time was easy. Joseph performed the house visit, and he was amazing. He was on time, friendly, and helpful. He not only figured out exactly what was wrong with our system, he answered all of our thousands of questions, and provided some great advice for basic system maintenance that we can perform ourselves. Even though I don’t know the first thing about HVAC systems, I can tell that he was thorough and takes pride in his work. As an added bonus, he was great with our dog, who does not generally like strangers.I highly recommend Max Heating and Cooling and will be working with them again in the future!

    The best HVAC crew on the North Shore. Stacy was a tremendous help with scheduling. Dan was as professional as it gets. I had a very complicated refrigerant leak going on that caused us to lose heat. Within 2 days of assessing the situation Dan got his crew out and replaced everything for a very honest price.     Dan and the team at Max are the single best company Ive worked with across the entire landscape of contractors, home improvement, and maintenance. We had them install heat pumps with mini splits downstairs and ducted heating and cooling upstairs and remove our gas furnace and radiators. They did an awesome job at a competitive price, were always on time and commutative, and left things clean.The heat pumps themselves are incredible. Theyve added a negligible amount to our energy bill because of their efficiency - our gas bill used to be 200+/mo in the cold winter months.We had one issue months after the install, and Dan sent Brandon (the team member who installed the ducted system - really great guy!) over the next day to fix it. It ended up likely being due to something other than the HVAC, but Brandon did his best to fix it anyway.As long as Im in the area Ill work with these guys and recommend them to my friends looking for more energy efficient heating and cooling.

    I was shopping for a new AC system (a combo of ductless on first floor + ducted on the second) last summer and ran into Max HVAC guys working in the area. The neighbour where they did the job gave them sparkling recommendation, and they submitted by far the best quote of about 10 companies I had considered, so I decided to take a chance and was never disappointed with my decision. Sam was in charge of the crew, and they were very punctual with their job, working for 2 days in my attic in the midst of a sweltering heat wave. The installation itself was impeccable and they cleaned afterwards really thoroughly. When I noticed a few months later that the plastic drip pan under the air handler became bent, Dan and Sam quickly came out to replace it with an aluminum one. Really recommend these guys for their professionalism and very reasonable pricing.

He quickly identified the issue and got on the phone to source the parts, which with a 20 year old unit were hard to find.     We thought our furnace went out overnight, so we reached out to Max Heating and Cooling because they had recently serviced our unit. Come to find out, our free thermostat from MassSave went out.     Our heat stopped working so I called Max Heating & Cooling late Friday morning, Dan answered right away, I explained our situation and he was able to squeeze us in that day to check out what was going on. Within a few hours, I had a quotation in hand, wrote back and told us what we wanted to do and he said hed have someone out to us Monday.By the time I got home from dropping my son at school in the morning on Monday, the Max Heating & Cooling truck was in my driveway and Shane was unloading his tools out of the truck ready to go. By 10 am we had heat again!Both Dan & Shane were very nice and professional, arrived on time and were able to get the problem diagnosed & fixed quickly.     Had such a good experience with Joseph Bpttoni and the owners son (i forgot his name). They performed preventive maintence on my HVAC systems. Super patient with me and my questions, went above and beyond explaining the system to me ( I wanted to learn some stuff about it) and basic maintenance procedures, was fantastic with my dog, and generally just a pleasure to work with. If I owned the company Id be proud to have these guys representing the company. As an aside, I own a pitbull and the guys were really loving on her so that alone meant the world to me.THANK YOU!!!!

    Sam, Dan, and the team were incredible to work with from start to finish. Coming as a recommendation to us, we called to try and fix our faucet but thought we might need to buy and replace the whole thing. However, Sam worked to save it and all in a very last-minute situation.From there, we quoted out a few more projects and chose them over others based on quality, honesty, and price. They ended up doing all three interior mini-split and exterior condenser replacements as well as a switch to an on-demand water heater. This is our first home and first time ever doing these types of projects and the team at Max exceeded all our expectations. The work was so good that our neighbors booked them before they even finished with our project.

    After shopping around it was a no brainer to work with this company. Dan and Sam were so pleasant. They were not only a reasonable price, but got the job done in two days where as other companies were estimating 5-7. We had our hvac replaced completely - heat/ac. Dan came to do an estimate and got us going less than a week later.. Onsite, Sam & his team were thorough, kind, clean and efficient. They were so quiet, we forgot they were even here! I have two little ones and they were no bother at all to our daily routine. Sam made it a point to go over in detail what they had done, how to change filters, turn of gas, etc. I hope we do not have to call for anything else but would certainly be glad to speak to either of them again :) thank you Dan & Sam (Sam-I-Am, as my daughter would say).     These guys were great!Danny showed up promptly and was extremely courteous to me and my wife during his estimate visit. He was very personably and sincere.We had 4 ductless AC units installed. 2 on each floor at each end of our house. This means the workers were all over our house. I brings this up because a contactors cleanliness during and after they do their work is very important to me.These guys were very clean and went out of their way to lay drop cloths and tarps on rugs and wood floors and were courteous in keeping any dust debris or construction materials in order and in check.Sam and the crew were were extremely friendly and polite and gave a sense of well being to my wife and I having them in and around our house.Sam was very knowledgeable and personable and left me feeling confident and comfortable that I hired the right guys to do our job.The work they did went without a hitch. Everything is working exactly as was told it would and the install was extremely fast and smooth.Everything these guys said about the job and the product, (duration, install, cosmetics) was spot on.I highly recommend them for their services, honesty and their value.I will definitely use them again in the future for any AC/Heating related issues we may have.

    This is a great company. I found them thru Google and want to give it a try since a previous company I used was not satisfactory to me. This company did a good job. The service person (Shane) was on time, knowledgeable, and professional. He cleaned the heating system, found a leak and fixed it which otherwise would cause a huge problem and he made the fan work as well. That fan hadnt worked for 2 years and I have asked 3 people to fix it but none of them did it. All of this work in a reasonable cost. Overall, this company is excellent. I will keep using them for all my future services.

    We met with 7 heating & cooling companies because of a disaster with our heating & cooling system that started with a leak and ended with 3 chemicals mixed together in a leak, creating a toxic and moldy environment in the air handler, making our 7-year-old sick for months before we figured out the cause of the problem, and essentially ruining our entire system, from air handler to the compressor. Dan came in as the 7th group wed spoken to and immediately made the most thorough and comprehensive explanation of what had happened and instilled trust that he and his team could replace our system and bring healthy air back into our home. The estimate was very reasonable and most importantly, we have full confidence, which we were missing in all the other companies wed met with. Were excited for the fix and I will update the review with the great news after the fix when we can again close our windows and breathe easily with a 7-year-old on the mend. We know well only work with Max Heating and Cooling going forward and I only wish wed discovered them sooner so we could have avoided so much trauma.

    Max Heating and Cooling recently installed a new AC and Heating system for my entire house (an old cape style house). Dan Palmieri was a pleasure to work with! He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, recommending a system that was ideal for my house and priced very well.Dans crew removed the entire existing oil tank and furnace along with all steam radiators and pipes. They then installed a complete Mitsubishi heat pump system with ducted for the entire first floor and two mini split floor mounted units for the second floor. All of the work was performed and cleaned up meticulously.A special shout out for Brandon and Sam! They kept me completely informed throughout and ensured that I was in agreement with everything being done. They both went above and beyond in ensuring that everything was done to my complete satisfaction.In closing, everybody involved demonstrated a combination of professionalism and friendliness that is rare and unmatched in my experience. I will go nowhere else in the future for my heating and cooling services! I recommend them highly.

After checking out other folks, we went with this team for three reasons: competitive pricing, responsiveness, trustworthiness.Before the job: Dan responded quickly to my initial inquiry and came around to take a look at my property within 24 hours of my call. He suggested the right heating and cooling solution for my property, showing me the reasons why. The estimate came out to a very competitive price. He responded to all my followup questions quickly and clearly. Hes a straight-shooter.During the install: Team 1, Jason & Brandon, were champs doing the install over three of the hottest days so far of the summer. Through it all, they were friendly, cheerful, and very respectful of me and my family. They cleaned up after themselves and maintained really clear lines of communication while setting reasonable expectations with me about the work. The final result -- my home is ready for the next heat wave and were ready to save money when the winter comes with our ultra-energy efficient hyper heat pump.I couldnt recommend these guys MORE. Well be coming to them again for future services.

    My heat stopped working so I called Max Heating & Cooling early Thursday morning, Dan answered right away, and was able to send Shane out by the afternoon to assess the situation. Shane tried to get it working with the storm approaching but quickly realized it was toast (22 yrs old) and needed to be replaced. Amazingly he found the right system in stock and they were able to replace the entire HVAC unit by end of day on Friday! A modern miracle.Many thanks to Dan, Shane, and the team for taking care of my emergency before we got crushed with snow..     After I made contact by phone, email and online portals with at least SIX (6) professional radiant heat specialist companies (some highly recommended), I was SO thrilled (& surprised) to receive a direct phone call from Dan, the Owner of MAX Heating & Cooling in Saugus who responded within 20 minutes or less!! Not only was Dan proactive, but he very generously granted me his time & really listened to my lengthy explanation about my very unique heating system, my concern(s), PLUS my miserably disheartening experiences with ALL the other companies (huge waste of precious time)! The other companies do not care about my needs as a potential new, or even current, customer. EVERY one of the other places claim to be too busy for me & HAD to FIRST take care of their MassSAVE rebate deadlines & clients with no-heat. One pro (after stating hes booked till Jan. 2023) even refused my request (twice) to book a Jan. appt. for me & said he couldnt even THINK about it because hes too swamped & repeatedly told ME to call HIM back IN JANUARY! (This guy did contact me 1-2 days after I reached out to him to say hes busy but will call me late the next day OR the day after that; THEN he never called as I waited an additional TWO extra days (so FOUR days before I spoke with him). Another said theyre booked out to Feb. 2023.Heres the bottom line for me:IT IS SO REFRESHING & WONDERFUL TO FIND A LOCAL COMPANY LIKE THIS -- MAX HEATING & COOLING. Since it was near end of the day & I had no emergency, Dan KEPT his word & called me 1st thing next morning, then offered to send out a very experienced, senior specialist within a half hour! By 8:20am, my heating system evaluation was complete & all my concerns were put to rest. My questions were answered by a true professional (after calling UNprofessionals for 2 whole wks)! Sam showed up on time & is just as kind & caring as Dan. He did NOT try to sell me any unneeded services or coax me into changing my heating system but acknowledged how well put together my system is! (Now I can enjoy the holidays & the new year with an unworried, clear mind.I have experienced a lifetime of living in this country, which was always this caring (mostly long ago) but has changed in very discouraging ways. MAX HEATING gives me lots of hope, as they represent the foundation our country was built on: Community, Honesty, Kindness, Professionalism & Hard Work (without the false images portrayed too often lately). These guys will most likely take your job through to a stellar completion with much satisfaction!! (I say most likely because I do not need any work projects done at this time.)
