Weve lived in the Salem/Elk Ridge/Woodland Hills area for over 25 years. Weve heard so many positive things about Robert Nelson Construction during that time.We finally decided to build a new home, and we decided to use Robert Nelson Construction. Matt Nelson has been orchestrating the project. We have been incredibly happy with how things have gone. Matt is a very hard worker, he is very knowledgeable about the entire process since he has been doing it ever since he was a teenager, and he is providing wonderful insights as we make various decision on appliances, windows, flooring, etc. Matt has really done a great job at understanding where we want to draw the line with striking a balance between quality, longevity, practicality, and cost efficiency. As we have met with various sub-contractors and suppliers (without Matt present), they have expressed amazingly high praise for Matts integrity and quality. Multiple sub-contractors have stated unsolicited that they would use Matt for their own house if they build someday. Several have expressed that we were very fortunate to choose to work with Matt.I rarely write online reviews. In this case, I had to make an exception because weve been so blown away and are so happy. We would 100% recommend Matt Nelson with Robert Nelson Construction to build your house.

We had a great experience. They do excellent work and we know that our house is built very well. We had sub contractors point out to us some of the extra details that Robert Nelson homes have and we were told many times what a well built home we have. Even the woman who came to measure the windows for shutters complemented their work. Matt was great to work with. I showed him pictures of what I wanted and it was done perfectly to the smallest details. He also has great ideas and is really helpful with everything.

It has been our experience that Robert Nelson Construction builds a quality home at a reasonable price. They are flexible and easy to work with and they use the best material and craftsmen available. If we were to build another home in the area we would look no further than Robert Nelson Construction.

They were our General Contractors and were absolutely amazing! Seriously! Matt is the finest GC (and human) I have ever worked with in this industry.

Exceptional!! They built my house, finished my basement and remodeled my kitchen. Excellent work and great people to work with. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

We lived in three homes built by Robert Nelson. They were all well built. Last week we walked through a home his son Matt built in Woodland Hills, Utah. The owner said before he choose Robert Nelson Construction, he interviewed every one of their sub contractors and they all said Robert and Matt were the best builders in the valley. Now living in his home, he agrees and has nothing but praise for them.

Building our house with Robert Nelson Construction was an amazing process. The process was 100% custom from the ground up. Matts cost estimate was unbelievably close to the final price of the home construction. We started the process with Matt supervising the excavation and foundation, and later on Darrell took over the supervision of the entire home. The transition was seamless and both of them were equally as capable of doing a perfect job, including being kind, patient, and helpful.Any changes we asked to make along the way were done without any complaints from the team. All of the subcontractors that were hired did a five star job as well. We never once had to ask for things to be repaired by subs after inspecting their work.Connie in the office is always so helpful and she keeps track of every penny. We always knew right where we were with the budget.Once the house was finished there were no problems like you typically would find on most new houses.I would absolutely recommend hiring Robert Nelson Construction if youre looking for a completely customized home.

Here are ten reasons I am continually glad we choose Robert Nelson Construction to build our current home.First, every time I see a garage or driveway being poured without a single stick of re-bar I am glad ours has re-bar. It may cost more but less than replacing the driveway when it starts to breaks up.Second, I framed my own basement and found that the floor was within 1/4 all the way around, What a joy to frame without measuring every single stud and trying to fit a wavy floor.Third, the windows were installed with extra sealant in the corners that I have never see used by another builder. This makes me confident that my windows will never leak.Forth, I have seen some homes framed with 2x4 exterior walls. Really! In Utah’s harsh winters that’s crazy. Robert Nelson uses 2x6 in all their outside walls.Fifth, my stair stingers are made from Laminated Beams of which I have never seen before. They are perfectly quiet and will never squeak.Sixth, Robert Nelson Construction allowed me to do some of the work myself. While most homeowners may not want to provide sweat equity, it was nice option for me.Seventh, we met with the finance officer every month and went through all the bills from all the vendors. We were given a copy of every single bill from the sub contractors and no percentages were ever tacked on by the Robert Nelson Construction.Eighth, was the ideas provided by the supervisor to improve our home. We had an entryway that was OK but Matt suggested a couple of changes that we implemented. Now our entry is a feature of our home.Ninth, they never missed a construction deadline. All the subcontractors who work with Robert Nelson Construction delivered on the day they agreed to come. When Matt said the flooring would be finished by Friday, it was finished!Tenth, while some builders cut corners so they can cut cost, I rest easy knowing there are no cut corners in my house.Paul & Joni Cheney - Salem, Ut
