The KEfficient team led by Darrell was excellent. Darrel was proficient, pretty friendly and most respectful of our home and our space. One can tell he takes pride in the work he does. I believe the work was done professionally and in accordance with what they proposed. The finished product looks excellent. I did have two additional LED lights and an outlet added to the electrical installation. I felt this cost was more than it should have been since the electrician was already on site and had to install a circuit for the dehumidifier, with lighting and a switch by the door. Over $400 for two additional lights and an outlet all in proximity to what was already being installed was excessive.

I had an excellent experience with this company. They repaired my vapor barrier and insulation in my crawl space that had been damaged from a leak. The install crew did a great job installing and fixing the problem. It looks great. Shortly after they left a project manager arrived to check on their work and to ensure that I was satisfied. This followup really did it for me showing an even higher level of customer service. Impressive and really good business.This is one of the best companies I have worked with in a very long time. Kefficient did an amazing job getting rid of the mold and moisture and encapsulating our crawlspace. It’s hard to imagine what they are capable of when you haven’t seen it done before, but after they finished, we could have had a picnic in our crawl space, it was so clean. The real bonus is I stopped struggling with chronic respiratory issues. My youngest granddaughter, who was plagued with chronic pneumonia every year has not had a problem since. And our little dog who had, according to his vet, the “worse respiratory issues she had seen in her career” no longer had any problems. I am constantly telling people they need to call Kefficient and get them to come give them a free inspection of their crawlspace or basement. I’m astounded at the difference their encapsulation service made in our family’s quality of life.

A++ workThey did a great job promptly and at a Great price compared to the other 4 companies I called (yes I really called and got 5 encapsulation estimates before making my decision). They offered the best warranty and promptly responded to come out for any issues after installation.Today I had a structural engineer come and asses my home and gave me an A rating in my crawlspace due to the encapsulation that was done 3 years ago now by this Amazing company. That the work they did a great job keeping moisture out and I have no issues with any of my joists/beams and absolutely 0 issues sited in the crawlspace.If i ever need another crawlspace encapsulated they will be the only call i am making as I trust their work and price.

Quote for our crawl space encapsulation was several thousand less than JES. They were not the cheapest quote we got but they did fantastic work at very competitive rate. Our crawl space is now clean, dry, mold free, and we dont have to worry about critters. They showed up on time and cleaned up well after themselves. Annual services was easy and comprehensive.

Their crew scrubbed mold, sistered joists, replaced rotten wood & installed plastic, foam board, insulation & dehumidifier. The project manager, Kyle, came by every afternoon to plot progress & advise me on what was being done. He answered every stupid question I had. This company has great customer service. & all work done correctly & timely

The whole process was great. And amazing service from sales and craftsman.From Brad coming out and identifying all the issues we had (even finding some additional members previous companies had missed) to being able to help us get a plan for the water mitigation in our crawlspace that could fit our budget since we couldnt do Encapsulation with all the other structural fixes. He was available every step of the way for any question I had and ways I could still deal with humidity issues myself in meantime in our crawlspace since we couldnt do a full encapsulation. And during the process he had recommendations for same day plumbers who did great work and their recommended electrican did an amazing job with our new panel upgrade for the added sump pump.The crew out here doing the work was great as well. Showed up on time daily and busted tail finishing the cleanup and trench dig out way faster that anybody expected. These guys I would recommend to anybody looking for a timely managed job and great work. Heck they even left some areas cleaner when they would clean up after the days work.Overall, this was a great experience with them, and I would recommend them to anybody looking and will use them in the future again if needed.

We moved into a ranch house in Richmond in July and the new home had a whole house dehumidifier in the crawl space. We contacted Kefficient to come out and service it for us and couldnt be happier with the result. The technician (Collin) was under the house for close to two hours and when he came out, he had quite the story to tell. It turns out that the previous owners had neglected to service the unit and it was a giant mess. There were puddles of water, mold, and bacteria under the house and Collin took care of all of it. The list of things that he repaired and replaced was impressive. Long story short, I highly recommend this company.

Based on our brief meeting I can tell Im going to be satisfied with their work once they get started.

I deducted one star and half due to the inaccurate timing. The inspector informed me that the work would commence at the end of July, which is why I proceeded to sign the agreement and pay the deposit. However, the work did not actually begin until mid-August, and I had to advocate for its initiation. I found myself making calls to ascertain the start date, as it appeared that no one had the information. While I recognize that unforeseen circumstances can arise, I must admit I felt somewhat frustrated. Nevertheless, the service team Kyle and his boys performed excellently on my crawl space and answer all my questions.

The work was good, and even though there were some issues with inspection, Kefficient ensured it was taken care of. I would like to say Thank you to Kefficient for a great job. I am a perfectionist and have been in the employment field for my whole career with an eye for great work habits. I was throughly impressed with Brad the sales rep with his knowledge and soft sell. He answered all my analytical questions calmly and completely. When the project started there were problems as is in life. I reached out to Brad and he responded to me immediately. He never made me feel that it was not his job. The rest of the team reacted immediately. Ernesto the team leader on site was organized and smart. He also would listen to my concerns. Even though English is not his first language, we communicated. He would understand my worries and corrected the work. He took the time. He usually saw the problem before anything had to be said. Finally I impressed with Alex who was the electrician who also heard me. Instead of taking out some drywall to get to the electrical panel to put in the new braker as he thought at first. Alex went the extra mile & was creative. He found a way to thread the needle with the new electronic cord to get to the panel & put in the new surge breaker without breaking any eggs or drywall. In conclusion, I am a very happy customer of the great work and great team that Kefficient provided on my project to encapsulate my crawl space and bringing my attic up to code. They went the extra mile with knowledge and a positive manner when life happened!

I cannot say enough good things about Mark and Kefficient. We could not be more pleased with the results. I only wished I had called them sooner. We interviewed 8 other companies and spent a great deal of time researching mold remediation and encapsulation. We learned a lot during this process and met a lot of nice people. The main takeaway I can offer is not all mold remediation services are the same. Only 3 of the companies we interviewed offered to kill the mold and physically removed it in a safe manner. Mold that is sprayed or fogged to kill it but left in place is still an ‘allergen (that now is covered in chemicals) that can become airborne and produce adverse health effects. It is still considered a contaminated environment by the IICRC S520 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation. Their mold remediation is just the beginning but an all-important step for optimal, healthy indoor air quality. The crews were polite and friendly. They keep you informed every step of the process. You can easily reach the owner using text, phone or email in a timely manner during the entire project. They use the highest quality products. For example, the crawlspace door is an actual rot proof, custom made door with jambs, a sill and weather-stripping. The attention to detail on the whole project is very impressive. I highly recommend using Kefficient. At a minimum, have Mark come out for the education. You won’t be disappointed.

The salesman Cale was prompt with initially meeting with me, getting me the quote and answering any questions about the quote I had. The quote was very fair compared to others I received and I chose to go with him because I felt comfortable with my follow up conversations with Cale. Marvin and his crew did a very good job as was noted by the final inspection with the county.Although I was overall pleased, I do have a couple issues which I’m sure Cale will resolve when I speak with him.I would definitely recommend using Kefficient for foundation and mold remediation work.

Our home is an older house that was built in the 1970s. The previous owners added an addition in 1980. The additions joists had rotted and the floor was sagging badly. We contacted Kefficient and was visited by Brad Conner. Mr. Conner went under our house and took pictures and then prepared a detailed plan for our job. It took about 7 weeks before they could start, but once the workers showed up, they worked continuously until the job was done. The addition is approximately 20 by 23 with only 18 inches of clearance, so they had to do the work lying on their backs. It took about 5 days to finish and they only stopped to eat lunch under a shade tree every day. They were polite and cleaned up all debris every day from the job. We also met Cale who came from time to time to check on the work. He also was very professional and helpful. Our dehumidifier was not draining properly and my husband asked if they could look at it. Cale found the problem and had the crew fix it free of charge. Kindness and a job well done is what makes home owners happy and ensures a satisfied customer. I honestly believe in Kefficient and recommend them without hesitation. They are great!

We can not recommend Kefficient enough for their crawl space and attic insulation work!From beginning to end, every person we interacted with was very professional and genuinely had our best interest in mind including Brad in sales, the team in the office that helped coordinate scheduling, the two crews that completed the job, and the quality control duo! They really have a family feel to their team.Brad provided a detailed estimate for encapsulating our crawl space and insulating our knee wall attics and primary attic. We asked if they could provide various estimates based on different options and they did without hesitation. They were patient as we received quotes from other companies and answered all our questions timely when making comparisons. Once we settled on them, they were actually able to come out a few weeks sooner than originally scheduled (who does that nowadays?). The crawl space team only had about 18-24 inches to work in, but did so without complaint and left the space looking completely different (in the best way) than ever before including cleaning the floor joist and encapsulating the space. The QC/finishing team and electrician came in the following days to seamlessly set up the dehumidifier and build a custom door.Finally, the attic insulation team came out soon after and did just as wonderful of a job. They encapsulated and insulated our knee wall attics and now after nine years in the house were actually using the area to store things. The insulation in the primary attic was a mess and the team did a great job completely cleaning the old out and blowing in the new insulation, while also leaving us a space to store items there as well. How often has a company exceeded your expectations at every turn?We needed a crawl space encapsulation. The scope of the project included; removal of moldy insulation, mold remediation, the addition of dehumidifiers and finally a 16 ply Kevlar liner and foam board insulation. Garage wall was bulging and separating from the house. Cale Poole from kefficient came to the house and went over nearly the entire house to find the root cause of the problem. I had a trusted contractor here working on a different issue and he followed Cale around the house and confirmed to me that Cale knew his stuff. My guy is not easily impressed but Cale impressed him. Cale and Kefficient impressed me with a quote that was half that of the other two contractors I had look at the problems and with a much better solution. Others either quoted drainage solutions only, or crawl space encapsulation (if your only tool is a hammer, the whole world looks like a nail), but Cale and Kefficient quoted rebuild of two sides of the foundation along with drainage to prevent the problem from reoccurring. Actual work was amazing - they removed the poorly constructed walls in sections to prevent collapse then rebuilt with rebar and steel supports built into the new wall. Cut the blacktop and installed drainage all within 5 days. I watched the crew on my Ring camera and they were all business. Cale regularly showed up at the house to check on them. As for cost, the final invoice was as quoted even though they did some extra work and left me with some extra drain channel if I decide to extend the drain when we redo the driveway. They even bought me a new shovel because they used one of mine in moment of need. I will call Cale first for any future work just to see if he and Kefficient want the work. I’m certain that if they don’t do the work, Cale will find me a trusted contractor. Best experience I’ve ever had with any contractor (work or home) and I deal with a lot of contractors in my job.

Original work October 2019:I called several companies in the area and got quotes from each of them for crawl space encapsulation and drain tile and Kefficient had the lowest estimated cost. Mark went through a lot of scenarios with me during the initial meeting and also via email later on as I tried to figure out if I could do some of the work myself to save money. They got the permits necessary for the drain tile in my area and got the job done quickly. Any concerns or questions I had during the process were quickly addressed by Mark and his team. So Ive been having mold issues in my living room ceiling for a while now. Ive just been scrubbing it down and bleaching the wall and painting over it until this year when the mold got really bad. I called up Kefficient and spoke with Cale who came out to look at my issue. He was in my attic for 10 minutes before finding an issue that an inspector missed and he came down with pictures of paper backed insulation trapping in moisture in the vaulted ceiling in my living room. He was extremely polite (YES SIR!) and was very understanding about the costs of remediation for my issue and gave me a couple quotes with different scopes of work. In the end, I choose to get the whole thing fixed. Rip out my ceiling drywall, remove every piece of insulation, sanitize, fix the soffits, replace insulation and drywall, and paint.I cant speak to how fair the pricing was but Im certainly alright with paying if the work is good.And I have to say the work was excellent. Cale, and their crew showed on the date we planned on and got their work done in 3 days. One of their guys managed to put a small hole in my ceiling from dropping some plywood and when I mentioned it to Cale he said it would be taken care of without hesitation.The final step were contractors they hired out to come in, put drywall back on my ceiling and paint. We had a hiccup with them showing up on the first day but once they got rolling they were consistent and also very pleasant to work with. Cale and Mark (The owner I think?) were very candid with me about the initial issue and were quick to say if things became an issue theyd find another contractor to do the work. That didnt need to happen though! Everyone is entitled to have a bad day and once they got rolling I had a flawless ceiling when all was done.TL;DR: I was very impressed with all the work that was done and even my fastidious room mate said that the work looked great too. These guys are worth your time to at least look at the issue and give them a chance.

Kefficient did an excellent job at the best price. And the get-it-done mentality made it happen. Here are some suggestions. We had a contract in May 2023 but the contract was not fulfilled until the end of Sept 2023. Partly my vacation and partly their problem. Kefficient kept saying that VA couldnt give us the Permit until later. I complained and the Permit came the next day. They sent us the bill before they finished the task. (They finished it very well.) When they finished the task, dust was every where in the basement. We complained. They came the next day and REALLY cleaned it and it was done by a very cordial man and asst. Last they have a machine in one corner and Im not sure of the purpose. Probably my problem but info would have been helpful And the owner was the nicest and came to visit every day except the last. All of this said, I loved their work.

We recently bought a flipped house that had a lot of ignored and concealed issues.The floor joists were sistered improperly, just wood pieced together; there was mold and high humidity in the crawlspace; and the vapor barrier that the flipper put down there was painters plastic sheeting. We got an estimate from JES, then decided to call Kefficient. Their estimate was lower than JES for more work and more materials, and they said they could come out in about 6-8 weeks rather than in January like JES. After we were scheduled, I got a call that they can actually move it up by five weeks and come out soon! They completed the huge project in 5 days, the crew showing up at 8 am every day. Mark and Daniel came out almost every day to check up and would come to the door each time to give us updates and ask if we had any questions. When the project was over, they gave us a walkthrough of the space and answered all our unrelated foundation/crawlspace questions that we had as new homeowners. It is such a comfort to know our home was taken care of, is more efficient, and that they keep an eye on their work in the coming years so everything stays as great as it is now. Kefficient conducted a free estimate crawlspace inspection for me and I was shocked at what was found. Daniel (sales person) showed me pictures, explained the issues he found and how to prepare the damage. No pressure sales pitch. The pictures were enough. Daniel wrote up a proposal, which included a full encapsulation and dehumidifier. After deciding to move forward and talking to the staff, I was given a date for the work to begin. The technicians were very professional, respectful and wore masks. They kept me informed at the beginning and end of the day of work. Ensured the electrical and building inspections were complete, Efficient was very attentive to a final request and made it happen. I can monitor my dehumidifier from my kitchen counter. Life is good. Kefficient did a fantastic job on our crawlspace. Our crawlspace was a major problem for the new house we bought. There was mold and high humidity throughout the house. They came out to do a quote within a day or two of contacting them and diagnosed the problem - which was a destroyed moisture barrier. They did mold removal and an encapsulation (moisture barrier, sealing the vents, insulation board).Not only was the finished product really clean looking, but it has made a world of difference for our house. Though they charge quite a lot for their services, it was well worth the money, based on outstanding customer service, education, and the quality of the work they did, which was exceptional on all accounts.

The three employees who performed most of the work under my house -- Ralphie, Aida, and Jonathan -- are the three hardest working people I have ever seen. **GOOD REVIEW ALERT**Back in July our basement flooded. We quickly discovered that the foundation our 65 year old house was basically Swiss cheese. We had about 6 quotes to encapsulate our crawl space, seal the foundation, and waterproof the basement. Since I work from home, I was the one meeting with all of the contractors. Two companies asked me to write things down to tell my husband so he can decide. One told me to FaceTime my husband to make sure I understood. We did not go with any of those. Humid air from outside entered through the vents and condensed on the HVAC ducts, pipes and fiber insulation.Such conditions were source of enormous condensation of moisture on the ducts that dripped onto the ground plastic, absorbed into the insulation under the floor, and created ideal conditions for a mold.The Kefficient crew has done an amazing job.The entire Crawling Space was encapsulated and isolated from outside air, the thin plastic on the ground was replaced with thick reinforced one and all seams were overlapped and sealed with tape.They removed all the wet insulation and installed a dehumidifier, which within 2 days completely brought the humidity to the desired level.The crew was always on time and I was absolutely satisfied with the service and the quality of their work.I recommend Kefficient as a reliable company with an excellent quality of work.

Mark and his crew just completed doing a tremendous job encapsulating and repairing my water damaged crawl space. Twice this year I have flooded floors on the lower lever. Mark diagnosed the issues. He pointed out specific problems and how to redress them. He knew about the necessary permits (other estimators did not mention them) and got them in a timely manner. He described the steps involved and the mold remediation process. The work crew (Mark, Sarah, Tyler, Issac(?)) worked diligently and efficiently spending days in the crawl space doing the required work. Everyone was courteous, efficient, and helpful in explaining what they were doing on any given day. The communication with Mark as to schedules and timing and anything having to do with the project was excellent. I would highly recommend Mark and Kefficient for any crawl space or waterproof situation you may have. Keffecient was great to work with. The crew was on time, professional and did a great job. They found a major joist problem that an inspector I hired missed! It would have caused major problems selling my home had they not found it. We found a good amount of mold in our crawl space this summer and called Kefficient to give us an estimate on remediation. Out of three estimates, they were the best price and very friendly and knowledgeable! They came out a couple weeks later and completed the remediation in one day. There was no smell in the house from the hydrogen peroxide cleaning solution. Also, I had previously removed the old insulation and had it in about 25 trash bags in the yard; they removed it without me even asking for that! This is a great company and I highly recommend them!

Kefficient came in with the lowest bid, but also provided new ideas on how to fix my basement flooding problem. They put in a sump pump and dug a trench around the inside of the basement. They thought my basement would be a 2 day job, but it ended up being three days.I signed the contract in October, then found out they wouldn’t be able to do the job till February. In October, I was literally going into my basement to pump out 2 to 4 inches of water every day! I didn’t know what to do, but when I called Kefficient, they said they would put in a temporary sump pump and pipe the water into an outside trench. They did and it worked and I was so grateful. In February, things were postponed because of the weather (snow and ice), and since it was taking three days, they worked around my schedule (working Mondays and Fridays). It was very considerate of them. The 3 guys who worked on it were very nice, answered my questions and did the job very well. I have to give a shout out to Jodi who helped me with the scheduling and did not get annoyed by my many phone calls.
