I needed a one-stop contractor to redesign my 1-car garage to a workshop by adding a separator wall towards the 2-car garage. I never worked with a general contractor before, but Home Design and Repair was very pleasant to work with.Evan was there from the beginning to discuss ideas and solutions to accomplish this project the best way. Communication, quality, and customer service were top notch and we cannot be happier with the outcome. Everything throughout the process is very transparent and customer satisfaction was very important to the team. This project required dry wall work, electrical wiring, A/C duct work, painting, and any other details.Highly recommend Home Design and Repair for any projects you have in mind.

We contracted for 2 projects: a small kitchen refurb at our home and a larger rehab for our condo that suffered water damage. From project planning to completion, Evan made sure everything ran smoothly. The bid was clear, thorough, and fair. Care was taken to make sure we understood what was covered by labor and what we needed to attend to. The work crew was always on time and on task all day. We were very impressed by the quality and attention to detail. Very important to us was timing. Our schedule was accommodated and completed more quickly than expected.

We just finished a bathroom renovation with Home Design & Repair. I just can’t say enough great things about this company! When I contacted Evan he responded promptly and came to the house to discuss what we wanted to accomplish. He drew up an estimate and we were off…he told me the job would be done in two weeks time. My experience has been that two weeks means four weeks in reality. Pleased to say I was just wrong. All the work was done in 8 working days. The bathroom is just beautiful! Couldn’t be happier! They showed up every day on time and were so respectful of us and our property. Super hard workers! Evan consulted with us each and every day to ask us if we had questions or concerns. You won’t be sorry if you select this fine company to do your renovations.

We just completed our childrens’ bathroom renovation. It was a complete overhaul and we redid everything including floors, drywall, tiles, vanity, tub, toilet etc. Our bathroom was gutted down to the studs. Carlos and Noay were incredible. They were professional, highly meticulous, always on time, problem solvers, trustworthy and so incredibly skilled at their craft. Their attention to detail and level of work was second to none. Evan was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was honest, fair, helpful, professional and really took the time to walk us through this entire process. My wife and I recently conducted an extensive remodel of our 3-bed/2 bath condo. We did everything right except for the bathroom upgrades. Our originally intended bathroom contractor left us hanging when he took a much larger job just two days before we expected him to begin the upgrades to our master and guest bathroom. That put us into a time pressure jam. As such, we admittedly performed less than ideal due diligence for a replacement contractor. We opted for a company that did a great job on the new flooring in our condo based on that company’s verbal representations that they also did bathroom remodels. It was my own fault that I did not check their references in this regard. In the end, they did just about everything wrong.Finding a new contractor was more difficult than expected. First, most of the highly reviewed/rated bathroom contractors on the internet did not want to clean up someone else’s mess. Second, they also were not interested because they would not profit from any redesigning of our bathrooms.Finally, after extensive research, I decided upon Home Design & Repair (HD&R). The owner (Evan Katz) returned my call and was very upbeat, patient, and empathetic during our initial telephone conversation. After sending him several photos of the work that needed to be done, we spoke again via telephone. I could quickly ascertain that he knew his craft. Evan and two of his co-workers arranged to visit our condo within a couple of days. During that visit, they took their time to assess the extent of the job. I was impressed that they were not rushed, answered all of our questions, explained what needed to be repaired and why, and were open to our ideas. The three men laid out the chronological steps that would need to occur, the potential problems that they might encounter along the way, and alternative strategies in the event any of those problems did materialize. Within a few hours of that initial visit, Evan prepared a detailed quote. Based on my research, I concluded the prices were reasonable. Notably, HD&R provides all materials at cost, which are backed by receipts.HD&R started the work the following day. They estimated the job would take 3-4 days. In short, the work included replacing drywall, retexturing, and painting two full walls, leveling one vanity, installing mosaic backsplashes in both bathrooms, relocating two electrical outlets, re-installing one toilet, leveling one vanity, installing 9 recessed LED light housings, securing the deck mount faucet/handles on a Roman tub, and re-hanging both vanity mirrors. In addition, the crew installed a mosaic backsplash behind our gas range. The two workers onsite arrived early each day and worked until at least 5:00. We appreciated that they took extra measures to limit the dust and dirt in our home. For instance, the taped down thick paper along all of the walkways inside the unit and hung a lot of plastic in and around the bathrooms. They did not mind our interruptions to ask questions and monitor their progress. In fact, they even asked us several questions along the way in order to improve the likelihood that we would be pleased with the final product. Evan periodically came onsite to supervise their progress and visit with us. From start to finish, Evan always promptly responded to my calls and e-mails.All of HD&R’s repairs were completed slightly ahead of schedule and reflected excellent craftsmanship. My wife and I could not have been more pleased. I only wish we would have found HD&R before we started the bathroom remodels. However, with that said, there is one silver lining. I already am making a list of additional projects where I will confidently engage the services of HD&R. By his own admission, Evan and his workers cannot do or fix everything. I respect that he will not over-promise and is willing to admit areas where the company does not possess expertise. I have shared with Evan that I am willing to provide personal references for prospective clients.

Home design and repair are great, there’s a reason they have so many good reviews. I had a double French door threshold installed and new weather stripping it was very old. Provided receipts of the expensive stuff I appreciate it. Had 4 other doors had work, 1 screen door fixed, 1 exterior door fixed, and 1 garage entry door from the house fixed. And also trimmed a dragging pocket door. Was very communicative when parts would have a shipping delay which I appreciate a lot. I would seriously recommend them to ANYONE and EVERYONE. Ricky and Evan went above and beyond. Everything clean after they left not even a single piece of dust to sweep up from them. Just great. We needed a bathroom remodel after we had mold problems and Evan was so helpful and amazing throughout the entire process and stopped by almost every day to check on how things were progressing. They estimated 7-10 days for the whole project and it was done in 8 days! The first contractor weve ever had that actually finished within the estimated time! The guys that came out to do the job were amazing too! They were there EVERY SINGLE DAY ALL DAY long (8:30-5:30) and were so nice and pleasant. They did an amazing job and our bathroom looks even better than it did before the damage! Will absolutely recommend them to anyone who asks! And will certainly use them again in the future!!
