    Our AC conked out on us just prior to probably what will be the hottest week at the end of the summer. Brian called and gave me a 25 minute arrival heads up. He was very professional and communicative about our problem. Luckily, it was just a burnt-out wire that needed replacing so we are back up and running. I have used Skokie Valley Air Control now powered by King for several repairs, maintenance, and installs. Excellent service every time.     My 35 year old boiler stopped working on Friday, I called for service on Saturday, technician arrived Sunday morning and shared the bad news that my boiler was dead. New one installed on Monday.     When our antique air conditioner decided to die, we called King Heating and we had service that same day after hearing our situation. The old system refused to work and the temperature was supposed to rise to the nineties, so once again, your company came through and installed a whole new system the very next day.     My house didnt feel cool and the a/c kept running for a long time. Its been a week since Skokie Valley replaced my A/C evaporator on 7/22/20. My a/c had a leak in the lines somewhere. I gave up on my long time service provider, Allied Heating and Air Conditioning simply because they didnt provide options other than putting in a new a/c system costing more than $4000. Even after asking them what else I could do, because I could not pay that price. Lesson learned, get multiple quotes even with your long time providers to make sure they are still being honest. Michael from Skokie Valley did promptly show up to provide a quote and also give me couple options. He explained the risk of just replacing the evaporator coil on the inside which would be a fraction of the cost. The outside fan and condenser could still have life in it, but the worst case is there is also a leak there which I would end up having to replace also. The key piece is time and cost of debt, if I can buy a few years to be prepared to replace the outside, why change the whole system. It occurred to me that the components never go out all at the same time anyway. Al and Flavio also did a professional job on the install, being respectful of my property and cleaning up after. Ill add some pictures to show the outcome.

    This would have been a 5 Star if the office had not cancelled our previous appointment. I booked an Air conditioner maintenance for my home and my neighbor (townhomes) for May 22. My appointment was cancelled, but the neighbors was not. The air conditioner units outside are right next to each other. They could have cleaned both at the same time. That was very poor customer service.The appoint today went very well. The technician was knowledgeable and did a good job of explaining all the work. We also had him install an Ecobee smart thermostat. He did a thorough job, including ensuring the thermostat was set up on the app and everything was working properly with the unit and the app.We will keep using King, as long as they fix the scheduling system and bumping customers

As before he was very informative, very helpful with information and suggestions.Both our HVAC and Condensor/Compressor unit are approaching their end-of-life. We discussed that, looked at old invoices to confirm dates, etc. Now that weve had an in-depth discussion with Chris.....we KNOW were looking at replacing both in the next 2-3 years...and well be ready for that HUGE expense.As usual....great appointment, very thorough job, friendly to a fault...and VERY knowledgable!

    Update: we just got a new furnace installed during the last cold snap (next day though they offered same day). We finally bought a new one instead of just replacing controllers on the old one (which we had done a few times but the old technology meant it just kept getting fried every few years.). The new furnace was not as expensive as I thought it would be, took 1 day to install,, takes up less space than the old one, and I think it might also be more efficient AND… we now qualify for a reduction in our home insurance premiums! (Who knew?). I’m feeling very good about our prompt, trustworthy experience with Skokie Valley air control. In fact the furnace installers were the same guys who installed the ac unit a few years ago! Another sign of a great company!Previous review: These guys are great. Weve been using them since we bought our house 7 (now 13 years) years ago when they vented our new water heater. Since then weve called for help on several items. Not every call for help results in a service call. Sometimes they have talked us through checking something out and fixing the problem ourselves. last year our 2 AC units started failing. They gave us a Freon injection which helped a lot! But then this year - the condensers died in first 1 then the 2nd unit. Money is tight so we got multiple quotes from different companies. Theirs was the least expensive by far and they were able to help us finance the purchase through Wells Fargo. Later that week, they installed the 2 new units in half a day, My experience with them and the other HVAC companies has shown that these guys know what they are doing, are willing to educate you on how to do simple little things by yourself and they charge a fair price for what they sell & service.

    We used Skokie Valley air control (King) to replace a 38 year old Carrier unit that had become a fire hazard. Derek was great to work with, down to earth, and sensible about our needs. We replaced the AC with a heat pump that will take some of the load off our 11 year old furnace lengthening its serviceable life while upgrading from a one speed AC to a 2 speed. Derek was able to work with his warehouse to find an older model that had not sold but fit our needs saving us thousands. I recommend working with Derek!

    Today was the first cold day in Chicago and our house was not heating properly. I called Skokie Valley at 1 PM and at 2:45 pm, Tony the technician from Skokie Valley arrived. Tony was meticulous in identifying the problem. Instead of coming in and identifying the first issue, Tony spent the time to determine what caused that issue. Eventually, Toni found the defective part causing all the problems and fix only that part which avoided a costly repair. I am happy to say that as I write this review, my house is warm on Chicago’s first cold day.

    My brother and I worked with Michael Byron at Skokie Valley Air Control, the company that had done routine HVAC maintenance on our parents condo over the years. When we were thinking of replacing the HVAC unit (which was over 40 years old and still working), Mike came out to give us an estimate. Then the pandemic hit and we put any change on hold.About a year later, Mike came out at least one more time to inspect the unit and give us an updated estimate. We never felt any pressure from him to replace the unit. We always appreciated Mikes professionalism, kindness and patience. We always trusted his advice.
