    When we had our stucco inspected and learned that there was significant damage, we were confronted with the unpleasant reality that stucco remediation work is tricky. How do you know that your contractor is doing a good job? How do you know that the price you are being quoted is unfair.We contacted multiple companies and did our best to educate ourselves. Turns out that an huge trap to fall in is the fact that some stucco remediation experts will low-ball you on price up front, knowing that the damage to the wood underneath the stucco will be extensive. Once youve signed up with them and they start the work, they can trap you by showing you how ugly the damage is underneath the stucco...Whoops, looks like the job is WAAAY bigger than expected! Then they can charge you whatever you want.Enter Ryan Gormley. From beginning to end he was fantastic to work with. First, I probably have never had a contractor who was so proactive with communication. Second, he was a true educator - he told us exactly what he was doing to make sure that our stucco issues would become a thing of the past. Third, he and his team were professional, friendly, and an overall joy to work with. Most importantly, the job looks fantastic. Ryan made sure to educate me on what they accomplished and answered all my questions in a very timely manner. Finally, the work came in perfectly in budget - even though his was one of the lower-cost quotes that came in.Ryan and his team did an terrific job. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

    We contacted Ryan for a stucco problem with our home that was very concerning. We had leakage at some windows and water seeping into the garage. Ryan and his crew were just great. He walked us thru every stage as they tore off much of our exterior and replaced it, layer by layer, with new and improved materials. He replaced our windows and siding as well as the extensive stucco work. He also took care of stonework on the sides of the garage which was a new addition. It’s been almost 2 years since our work was started and everything still looks great. Our home is airtight and beautiful. Many of our neighbors commented that it looks like a brand new house! Ryan did not consider this project completed until we were completely satisfied and that means a great deal. As a homeowner, I could not ask for more. It is a wonderful feeling to find a contractor that you can trust to do the job right. Would recommend Gormley Construction to any of my neighbors, family or friends without reservations.

    Gormely performed remediation to my entire house from late April to early July. They did fabulous job! Ryan is very responsive, professional, fair, and easy to work with.     Ryan and his team did a stucco remediation for my 30 year old stone and stucco home which had several areas in need of remediation. Many of the other companies I spoke with were all to quick to suggest going with cement board but Ryan laid out the options and I was able to preserve my preferred look of continuing with stucco. Along with his team Ryan was very approachable and easy to communicate with. The job supervisor Keith was also great to work with. The team did superb work and I am very pleased with the finished product as well as the warranty transferrable to a new homeowner.     Ryan Gormley and his team are unquestionably the best construction crew we have ever worked with. They have just completed a full stucco remediation job on our ~16-year-old, 3-story detached home in the Manayunk section of Philly. The job required removing all the stucco on the house, replacing a large amount of water-damaged and rotted wood, pulling out and properly flashing all windows and doors, temporarily detaching two porch decks from the house, installing two new sliding doors leading to a porch and roof deck, replacing several rotted beams -- including a long structural-support beam in our living-room ceiling, substantial related interior trim work, finishing the exterior using Hardie-board siding with Azek trim, and replacing a water-damaged roof deck on the third-floor with new wood and covering it with many coats of fiberglass and installing a new custom-built metal railing. The estimate for the job was quite reasonable and less than the quotes we got from other contractors. The project took somewhat longer than we had originally expected, but that was only because the full extent of the rotted wood could not be determined until the entire exterior of the house was finally exposed -- including, for example, the defective roof deck and the rotted boards connecting the porches to the house. Ryan stopped by quite often during the two-month project to make sure his crew was doing the work up to his own high standards. Both he and the on-site crew manager, Alex, were fantastic at addressing all our questions and concerns, and making sure that they were not disrupting our lives too much during this major home-reconstruction project. Most importantly, we are very pleased with the final appearance of the house. We would not hesitate to hire Ryan and his crew again in the future and we recommend them highly for any type of construction project you may have.

    11/30/2021 Gormley Construction was hired for a massive exterior project. It included the removal of all stucco & replacement with stone & stucco. The removal & replacement of all sheathing & insulation, all windows, roof, doors, lighting, electrical needs, stone walkways, lamp post, mailbox post & a deck rebuild with the addition of a partial roof. Bottom line, they were incredible. Business wise the agreement was all inclusive, very fair & reasonable. The workmanship was excellent. The entire team was hardworking & professional taking pride in what they did. The end result exceeded our expectations. Ryan Gormley, owner was on-site, always accessible, patient, easy to work with & talented. If he was not at our job, his awesome foreman Melvin was. We were always in good hands. Highly recommend.

    Right from the start Ryan was very helpful in steering us towards the corrective measures needed to resolve the water leak issue suspiciously caused by poor window installations. The end result was full stucco removal, replaced damaged structure, re-installation of all windows and doors, fool-proof flashing details and new stucco. The project duration was about 3 weeks. Ryan updated us almost daily; he and his crew were very accessible and responsive throughout the entire process. They maintained a professional vibe on the job site and worked long days and weekends to keep the job going to take advantage of good weather days. Best experience so far with a contractor.     We had a great experience with Ryan. We were about to purchase a home, but saw there were some issues. Ryan was recommended and came to have a look and give us an estimate on necessary repairs as we were still negotiating. After closing we hired Ryan and he got to work right away. As the work progressed it became obvious the job was more complicated than originally thought. Ryan and his team kept us informed thoroughly and timely. Their work was excellent. Sure it was more than the estimate, but we definitely had confidence that all the work was necessary, and that it was done the right way, correcting cut corners when the property was built, and repairing years of neglect.     Ryan took care of stucco remediation for us during our home purchase. The reason we went with him was that his proposal, though slightly higher than that of a competitor, was very detailed and diligent. Plus, he was very professional and responsive. We ended up having him also put a new side entryway in, and are very happy with the overall quality of the work.There were some hiccups here or there when I wished he or his crew could have checked in with us (such as the style of the stucco), but overall a good experience. Of course, the true test of the work will only come with time, but from what we can tell now, Ryan is responsive when asked for adjustments.

    Our experience with Ryan and his crew has been overwhelmingly positive.They have been at our home for 3.5 months removing the stucco, wrapping the windows, replacing the stucco with Hardi, Stone, Metal roof and Shutters. Ryan has that old school work ethic, he shows up on time, checks and rechecks the work, explains in detail any questions you may have, if you are concerned or dont like something he takes care of it right away.     Ryan was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process. We had our stucco removed, damage remediate and then replaced with siding. Overall this was a month long job, which was very good considering they were working through the winter months. During this time, Ryan provided frequent (almost daily) updates and responded to questions quickly. His team always arrived early and even worked weekends in order to complete the job faster for us. We were worried about switching to siding and the look “cheapening” our home but honestly, we like the siding even more than the stucco. We would use Ryan again for sure.

    After playing phone tag for weeks with multiple contractors for stucco repair, I was so lucky to have found Ryan Gormley’s website. He was so responsive, provided a quote quickly, and was able to complete the work in a timely, professional, and seamless way. Located in Philadelphia and right next to a PHS community garden, I was worried there may be issues finding a good contractor who would be cautious and respect the garden below the stucco wall that needed repair. Ryan not only took the time to meet with the garden lead, but also assured how care would be taken to ensure the scaffolding and repairs would leave the garden intact as-is. He was also able to match the stucco paint color perfectly, which I was so surprised to see - you can’t even tell where the repairs occurred!

    We worked with Ryan and his team (our main contact was Keith) for a stucco remediation at our home that started in December and took about a month to complete. Our initial interactions with Keith and Ryan were great, they were responsive and answered our questions.The work they did was solid (pictured), and so far has held up well, however we found out this week that at some point during the remediation process, our previously well-functioning A/C unit (which is directly below the scaffolding the crew put up) was no longer working. A heating & cooling company came out and found the copper refrigerant line was pulled up and broken (pictured), with refrigerant and oil spilled all over the ground. This was not something that was ever brought to our attention when it happened, and the line is in such a place that it would be very difficult for anyone to have accidentally bumped it if they didn’t climb over the unit to the back side.We are working with Ryan now try and get the issue fixed, but definitely something that was a disappointing to find out after the fact.Update:Did get in touch with Ryan, who offered to pay for the repair of the AC unit. Ultimately, we went with replacing the unit due to how many pieces needed to be replaced, and Ryan made well on his promise to pay the credit towards replacement. Overall, I have no complaints about the stucco remediation and roof deck build he did for us, only this unfortunate complication. Refreshingly, it was resolved within a week of being made aware of the issue.

    Gormley did great work replacing our water soaked stucco covered wall with hardi-board siding and reframing our back wall. We worked closely with Melvin from their team on a day to day basis and have nothing but the highest regard for the work he did and for him as a person. The team didnt miss a beat assessing the problem and getting to installing a new deck for us. 10/10 recommend them for any work you need done on any siding repairs or any general exterior home repairs!

    The Gormley Construction team performed a full exterior wall envelope replacement on our home including removal of all stucco & trim, removal, flashing & reinstallation of all windows, installation of new insulation, sheathing and a combination of new stucco & Hardie panel siding & trim. The job was a huge undertaking but Ryan, Keith & team did an incredible job of identifying & investigating any issues, dealing with existing conditions (not easy on a 100+ year old house) and working with us to make our vision come to life.Ryan was great to work with from the beginning, reviewing our design ideas, talking through our various options and proposing suggestions. He was on site on a regular basis checking on the progress and quality of the work and reviewing any issues with us.Keith and his team were very professional, kept the property clean throughout the project, and were respectful of our home.     Our spare bedroom was in need of a lot of TLC. The popcorn plaster ceiling was cracked and just a mess. Our large wall to wall closet had never been quite finished on the inside and was in need of doors. The guys from Gormley construction were expert, neat, prompt, courteous and always kept us informed every step of the way. They removed the popcorn on the ceiling, repaired all the cracks and re-plastered to a smooth finish. The closet was re-dry walled, two sets of French doors were added and they repaired and replaced missing parts of the hardwood floor in the closet! Everyday they cleaned up everything from the sanding dust to wood shavings. Thefinished product looks amazing -- actually better than I could have imagined! Just a great experience with this company. I would recommend them and of course I am hiring them again!

    Can’t say enough good things about Gormley Construction. First, Ryan as the owner personally came out to assess the job himself. He was responsive which believe it or not is a big deal- we had contractors that wouldn’t even call back to try to schedule a visit and/or never get back to us with a quote.Ryan knows his stuff. We had ext damage due to water infiltration from construction defects across multiple areas of the home. Ryan completed a thorough assessment inside and out to come up with the right plan to fix it right. In our case the leaks were on all 3 levels of our town home, so Ryan was honest and gave us multiple options to remediate from taking off only a partial part of the brick facade to the entire facade. We opted to go the full facade route which would be covered by Gormley’s 10 year warranty.In all Gormley did everything from demo to repair which was- removing the entire front brick facade, taking out and properly flash the windows, properly fiber glass the roof deck, bathroom title work, drywall/framing and re-bricking the entire front facade.Let’s face it, not everything is perfect in any construction, but when issues came up Ryan would personally come to the site, listen to our concerns and address them. Also appreciate Gormley knows what permits to apply for in Philly so you don’t hit delays- even down to calling PGW to make sure the power lines have the required orange protective covers- which is something I would have never even thought of.

Ryan did a very large house project of stucco remediation including Hardy Board installation, 65 window replacement, 3 sets of doors replacement and 2 new stone chimneys.     Ryan and his team were excellent. Our project was quite large and consisted primarily of tearing down old stucco and replacing with Hardie Plank as well as installing all new windows and doors, as well as new interior molding. Ryan’s communication throughout was excellent- timely, detailed, and via whatever method we preferred (in person, phone, email or text). In addition, the quality of his (and his team’s) work and attention to detail were wonderful. Small adjustments and last minute requests were no problem for them. And finally, he and his team were so friendly and professional- including for my two year old son, who was very disappointed when the project was complete and they stopped coming around. I’ve joked with my husband that I can’t believe we still like our contractor so much at the end of a very big and stressful job. We would hire them again in a heartbeat.
