We wish there were more than 5 stars to give!! Ambassador Home Improvement exceeded our expectations with their work on our home extension project. From the moment we met Gary, we knew we were in good hands. His professionalism and expertise set him apart from other contractors we had considered. Gary listened attentively to our vision and worked with us to bring it to life (all within our budget)! He truly is the best there is and you can understand why his company has been in business for 30 years when you meet him!Not only was Gary incredible to work with, but we were extremely fortunate to have Doug Foote as our project manager. Dougs attentiveness is beyond compare. From the initial planning stages to the final touches, Doug was always available to address any concerns or questions we had along the way. Doug coordinated seamlessly with Gary and the team, ensuring that everything progressed smoothly and according to schedule.Our project included a rear living room extension, a modern kitchen renovation, walk in pantry, and new flooring and windows throughout our home. We also enhanced our backyard space with masonry work, an outdoor bar, and a fireplace. During the course of our project, Doug went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and desires. Where do I begin! My husband and I contracted with Ambassador quickly after finding out we were expecting our 3rd baby. We met with several contractors, and Gary was the only one willing - and eager! - to take on our time sensitive project. Every single person on Gary’s team was a class act. Doug, our project manager, did not miss a beat. He was super communicative, friendly, present on the job and BEYOND efficient. Our framing team was phenomenal - so professional and efficient. All of our neighbors commented on how hard the guys worked day in and day out. Any issue that came up was handled same day, which is very hard to come by. Long story short, our master suite extension (2 bedrooms, a master bath and walk in closet) was completed BEFORE our deadline, a few days before our baby was born. The work is impeccable and we could not be happier. We will be forever customers of Ambassador, and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work, 5 star customer service and just overall good people. We are so grateful!!!!

We recently renovated our home from top to bottom with a second level addition. Our family moved out during this time and having the project completed quickly was very important to us. From start to finish everyone who entered our home was respectful and timely. Our project manager, Doug Foote was on location each day to oversee the work, answer questions, and manage everything along the way. All steps leading up to completion were executed smoothly and we are very happy with the quality of the work. Looking forward to many years in this home together! Thank you Ambassador!

We used Ambassador Home Improvement for our custom home build. We chose Ambassador after having met with Gary two times within a 3 year period. He was always patient and took the time to explain the process. We scoured the internet for reviews and everything we read was great. We also had a friend who used them for her home build and years later she was very happy and spoke great things, especially about Doug the project manager. Doug was also our project manager and he was always responsive when we had questions or concerns. He offered solutions and alternatives when we were unsure how to proceed. We feel they provided a quality product and they stand behind their work. We are glad we chose Gary, Doug and their team; we recommend them to everyone we know looking to do major construction on their home. We are very happy with our new home and cant thank them enough for bringing our vision to life.

We contacted / interviewed several companies for our home rebuild in Long Island, Ambassador Home Improvement was our final choice. Ambassadors pricing was competitive with other companies in the bidding process but it was the quality, reputation, warranty of work and the in-house team that helped us make our selection.Gary Zaccaro’s professionalism, thorough knowledge with attention to details along with 25+ years experience in construction impressed us during our first meeting. Gary got our immediate attention with his vision and fairness during contract discussion and we decided to move forward promptly.Our home project was a whole house renovation, practically a new house built. Main floor was completely redone (new layout, 9 feet ceiling), full second floor addition and finished basement (gutted & redone). We wanted a team with experience of large scale projects (new construction) and be able to manage the complexity of working with town codes and schedules.Any project success can be quantified by four main components - quality, schedule, budget and scope. Ambassador was excellent on all the fronts - quality of workmanship is phenomenal, project was completed way ahead of schedule (4.5 months record time), was well within the budgeted amount (quite unheard of) and everything scoped was completed. Project was started in the last week of December and we were back home in mid May.We built a great relationship with Gary and his entire team during the project. Success of a team is driven by its leaders vision and values. Ambassador backs it’s workmanship and the products they recommended for the project. Building your custom home is an experience of lifetime and is an enormous undertaking; The Ambassador team guided and supported us at every stage of the project making it a joyful and contented experience. Dan Motz designed all our interiors, converting our vision into a reality - Kitchen, Bathrooms, Closets, Laundry, Mudroom, Office, Temple and Pantry. Designing the interior of your choice is not easy, having a professional inhouse team is a big plus. Douglas Foot is an amazing project manager who is very well organized and has incredible ability to manage and coordinate multiple teams at the sametime for the project. Doug was very responsive and attentive to us throughout the entire process along with keeping the project going on schedule (finished ahead of schedule)Shout out to the entire team for an incredible job - Dan Motz (Designer), Douglas Foot (Project Manager), Anthony E. There are so many positive things I have to say but I’d probably have to write a book! So I’ll keep it short!We met with Ambassador Home Improvement back in May of 2023 to get a quote on a second story addition. We met with several contractors during the initial stage to get a good sense of pricing and what options we had. My wife and I met Gary and from the start he was very warm and welcoming.Gary laid out all of the different configurations we could do based on the number of bedrooms and baths we wanted to add. He worked with us to price out the different costs for different material such as hardwood floors vs vinyl/rugs and different options for replacing our existing boiler and the costs for each. He spend about an hour with us understanding what we would love to have and recommended ways to get it done within our budget. Gary also quoted one of the quickest times to complete the project, 4.5 months which it took him and his team exactly 4.5 months to complete the construction.Once we signed our contract, Gary paired us with one of his recommended architects, Victoria Morelli, who was also great to work with! She sat with us for about an hour for our initial consultation trying to understand what we wanted and how we can get that in the space we had available to us. She then produced several different designs for us and worked with us to alter them to a combination of all 3 designs. Victoria also worked with Kathie from the Ambassador team ensuring the town had all of the paperwork needed to complete my CO even during the process when we made some alterations to the HVAC plans.Once everything was approved, Gary helped schedule us ASAP so that we could get started on the project. This is where Gary introduced us to Doug.Doug was amazing throughout the entire process, from the start he was great with communication! He came over with the framing crew and reviewed the work that was going to take place. He informed me of a rough timeline when Demo, Framing, siding, plumbing and electrical would take place.Doug set up appointments for us to meet all of the trades men including the Plumber and Electrician. This allowed us to make some changes to our plans such as adding additional outlets for TVs and light fixtures. Additionally we could explain how we wanted our shower laid out and the configuration of the sinks. Doug also let us know when we would need certain materials ready, we opted to get our bath material from a different source and Doug was clear on the timelines and also worked with us when our tile was back ordered by 2 weeks.Also, town inspections were completely handled for us with Doug being there for all of them and we passed all town inspections on the first round. Additionally any documentation changes inspectors required, Doug, Kathie and Victoria all worked together to ensure the town had the paperwork the needed.Overall, we have been in the house for almost 4 months and we are extremely happy with the work! We haven’t had any major issues and all of the electrical, heating, plumbing and finishing work has held up well even through the temperature changes of the seasons. The Ambassador Team were true to their word and completed everything we wanted and more! My family has a house significantly larger house that can accommodate all of us comfortably and we couldn’t be more thankful to the Ambassador team.If we ever have to get more work done, we will definitely go with Ambassador again!

We used Ambassador for two major renovation jobs in the summers of 2020 and 2021. The first job was to finish our basement and turn our garage into a guest bedroom with an attached full bathroom. The second job was completely gutting our upstairs to create a beautiful master suite and add a hallway bathroom. This second job also included redoing our siding and gutters. We couldn’t be happier with the work Ambassador did for us (that’s why we used them twice!). The workers were prompt and courteous and the price was as quoted, which is almost unheard of in construction. They finished our punch list when they said they would, and all the work is still in good shape many months later. We would definitely use Ambassador again for our construction needs, and we highly recommend them! In fact, two of our friends in the neighborhood are using Ambassador now for major renovation projects because we recommended them so highly!If you’re looking for a professional, clean, reliable construction company, look no further than Ambassador. Their work is beautiful, they’re a pleasure to work with, and you won’t be disappointed.

Ambassador Home Improvement built our screened porch, in addition to our backyard patio and built in kitchen. This was a massive job and somewhat of a new endeavor for Ambassador. We had been developing our vision of the job for years. They did amazing work to deliver that vision for us, and they helped us add to it with their creativity and experience. Solid construction, beautiful carpentry and masonry. We had constant contact with project manager. We made many decisions and changes along the way and we were always able to work together to find solutions. Ambassador takes pride in their work and the finished product is evidence of that.

I don’t often write reviews for work I have done but in this case I felt I needed to express the extreme satisfaction we had working with Ambassador Home Improvement.From the first meeting with Gary, who turned out to be the owner of the company, we felt that we were in good hands. Gary came to our home, and he was knowledgeable and non-pressuring. We had contacted around 13 contractors for our total remodel/dormer and of all the companies we spoke to Gary knew what he was talking about and didn’t teeter back and forth with uncertainty. He exuded confidence which in turn made my wife and I both confident with choosing Ambassador as our contractor. He looked at our house plans and within 3 minutes of looking at them picked out at least 10 error that needed to be addressed to make this project what we dreamed of. As he left my wife looked at me and we said at the same time, we’re hiring him!!!The entire experience with Ambassador Home Improvement was spectacular from start to finish. At the start of our project we were introduced to Doug Foote. He was our project manager. He was with us every step from start to finish. He was able to extinguish problems within minutes of occurrence. Every time we had a problem and I needed something Doug made it happen. Doug was and is truly a God sent during a project like this. Knowing that you have a guy fighting for your happiness without even being asked is such a refreshing thing to have on your corner when you’re doing a home project. Doug is a true asset to Ambassador. He is one of the reasons I recommend this company to everyone who needs home renovations done.In closing, all I have to say is that Ambassador home Improvements is really your one stop shop for the best experience in your home renovation. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience and superb craftsmanship.I also want to say the girls that work in the office, Kathy and Michele were also so helpful to us, Just wanted to add that. Like I said it was an all around great experience.

This review was a long time coming. I live in the East Northport area and my house was a moderate size, 3 bedroom split ranch. My wife and I had an unexpected blessing and we went from a family of 4 to a family of 5. Because we needed an extra bedroom, we decided on dormering our house versus buying a new home. Admittedly I was anxious because of the nightmare stories you hear about general contractors. I did my due diligence online, reading review after review and I ended up choosing Gary and Ambassador after looking at their reviews online. We started our project January 15th 2020, 2 months before the covid pandemic hit the world. They demod half of my roof that sunny Wednesday morning and as soon as the demo guys came down the ladders, the framers were going up. I had a roof and the shell of my new master suite within 5 days. We added a master bath, master bedroom, walk in closet, HVAC, electric, new wood floors, siding, stone work, windows and insulation. Our project manager that was assigned to us was Joe and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with on every level. All the sub-contractors that they worked with were all professional and what I really liked about Ambassador and Joe was how organized they were. They were literally a well oiled-machine. Communications were abundant and they ALWAYS answered your calls and texts. One week before our project was to be completed in March, the pandemic hit us. Our project was obviously put on hold just like the rest of the world but eventually when the construction industry got the green light to open again, Ambassador picked up where they left off. The biggest takeaway I want to pass over in my review is that Gary is a man of his word. Everything he told me he would do, he did. No questions asked. I highly recommend Ambassador to anyone looking for a quality company that specializes in dormers. Looking back when my wife and I made our selection, we werent looking for the cheapest company, we were looking for the best company and I can say with confidence that Ambassador met all of our expectations. Thank you to Gary, Joe and Ambassador for the wonderful and beautiful work you guys did to our home!

We contacted Ambassador on the guidance of our architect, on a whole-house renovation project in Plainview. During our bidding process, we included our longtime contractor, another smaller firm and Ambassador. Ambassador’s bid was competitive in this phase, and their reputation and warranty won out over the others.As we have a split-level, we needed a team with experience for a project of this scale and able to manage the complexity of the town codes. Gary, Doug and team had that experience and backed it up with a customer first approach, supporting any questions or concerns, change order considerations with a great consultative mindset—guiding our decisions that came up along the way with options and recommendations that eased the challenge of taking on a big renovation project.In the end, we more than doubled our square footage—and ended up with a well constructed and finished property in eight months. We extended our foundation on two sides, and added an attached garage and outdoor living spaces while extending existing basement and den spaces significantly.Gary and his team (Doug was our project lead) were great throughout the project, giving clear guidance on all stages of the project, from demo, tradesmen management, and final inspection. We were given great advice on additional projects that happen during long term projects; for example, we were able to leverage existing cabinetry in the basement, adding storage with a nice finished look, and closet space to help structure a very large open flow space.They were also extremely responsive during all phases — you will never feel like a number with this team. I highly recommend them, and have contracted them for additional projects, and will continue to do so in the coming years. They have my trust as a homeowner here in Plainview in perpetuity.

Once again, we are very pleased with their work. Our project manager, Doug Foote, was responsive, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. We also worked with Dan Motz, their kitchen & bath designer, who was patient and helpful throughout. The wide selection of cabinets, countertop materials and flooring tiles at their showroom in Plainview, NY, was a great resource. We are very happy with our new kitchen, and would not hesitate to recommend Ambassador.

My husband and I hired Ambassador to install all new replacement windows a few years back and a new Bay Window from a double hung. Gary and his crew were professional from beginning to end and what impressed me was that they paid attention to important details in the workmanship; was neat and finished beautifully. We recently had a leak in the Bay Window and we called Gary and even though it’s been a few years he sent his crew to come back and assess and fix a minor issue but was big in that would resolve future water problems seeping in. To me this is super professional and he did it without charging us although we took care of his guys. This professionalism is hard to come by these days and I can’t say enough great things of the integrity and character of Gary and how he runs his business. When we are ready to redo our kitchen I know who I’m calling without hesitation, customer service goes a long way to us . Thank you!

We used Ambassador for a gut renovation of the first floor and an addition of a second floor. We chose Ambassador after speaking several times with Gary because we felt the proposal was complete and competitive with other contractors, had confidence they could execute with high quality and complete the job in less time than other contractors by 1-2 months, and we had known someone who used Ambassador previously and had nothing but great feedback.Our Project Manager was Doug Foote and he has been awesome! He constantly communicates with you to ensure you’re aware of the schedule, he’s responsive to my numerous questions, he takes time to fully explain issues/solutions to you in order to make educated decisions, and he’s on top of everything. I found Ambassador Home Improvement from one of the house that he had done remodeling in our neighborhood. I was impressed with the quality of the work and I asked them about the contractor. They were very happy to tell me about the work by Gary and Ambassador Home Improvement. Gary was the first contractor that gave me an estimate and I got about 5 more estimates. He gave me the best price but I wanted to make sure that I receive good quality materials and quality work. After the meeting with him at his office me and my wife were convinced that Ambassador Home Improvement is the one will be doing my home renovation.I met Joe from Ambassador at a pre work meeting with Gary and his team. A very friendly, professional guy. He was there from day one of the renovation. He explained every work before it starts and addressed any concerns during the work. He went above and beyond to accommodate us as we were still living in the house during the renovation. I would give full credit to Joe for the steady progress of the renovation. The project started at the beginning of February 2022 and it is getting close to be completed in the beginning of May 2022. I will say for sure that the quality of the work was never compromised.I would complement all the workers of Ambassador (I know all of them by name) they all are very professional and friendly which was a concern for my wife as I mentioned earlier that we were living in one part of the house while the work is going. They were all worked very professionally and I would like to thank all of them.Overall, we as a family are extremely satisfied with the work Ambassador had done and would like to thank Gary, Joe and the entire Ambassador team.

We just had a major renovation done on our home that included second floor dormer, install all new 2 zone HVAC and heating system. We couldnt be happier with the job done by Ambassador Home improvements. Gary and his team did an excellent job. The entire project was done in a timely manner. All the work was done to proper code with permits. Our project manager was Joe. He did an excellent job of managing and keeping the project on time. We hired Ambassador Home Improvement to remodel our entire first floor of our house which included a brand new kitchen and beautiful built ins. Gary was very easy to work with and the entire project was done in a timely manner. His staff was always very helpful and all of his men that did work on our house really took pride in the work that they were doing. The two men (Jeff and Wayne) that were responsible for putting up our kitchen cabinets, built-ins and our moldings were outstanding. Our project manager Doug was always onsite to make sure everything was moving along well. I really LOVE the way my house looks after the work was completed. Gary, also does a great job after the project is completed. I was told by another person who used Ambassador that they always come back to fix minor things way after the project has been completed. I also have found this to be true as well. I highly recommend Ambassador and I am very glad we chose them to complete our remodel.

Ambassador had completed a stunning renovation on our home in 2010. Since then, regardless of the issue, they have responded without question or hesitation to any need that has arisen.Their initial quality workmanship is most certainly withstanding the test of time. However any failed materials or products, which were not under their control, are treated as warranty repairs, regardless of the severity of the problem.Service calls are coordinated quickly and efficiently and are catered to our schedule without delay.We are extremely happy with Ambassadors workmanship and customer service and we highly recommend them for any project, big or small.The choice that weve made to go with Gary and Ambassador Home Improvement for our home renovation over a decade ago has paid off in spades, as they continue to stand behind their high quality workmanship.We since had them back for another addition to our home, Super Storm Sandy restoration and multiple minor home repair projects. We did a total house renovation in our 3500sq foot house with Ambassador. Everything came out beautiful. Every part of our home inside and out was renovated. Our project manager Doug was amazing. He was so attentive and responsive to us through our entire process. Living through the renovation was challenging but Doug made sure the Workman were always tidy and respectful of our space as we were living in our home throughout the Renovation. I would totally recommend hiring Ambassador and of course having Doug as the Project Manager. Gary the owner was wonderful as well. No matter what your visions, Gary will find a way to make happen for you.

We are using Ambassador for our full gut reno from top to bottom starting end February, making our 3 bed 2 bath home into a 5 bed 2.5 bath home in essence totally re-building our home. We met with many different contractors for our huge job and from the start, Gary Zaccarro was always a cut above the rest. Gary is not only a kind human being, he is super responsive and hands on to ensure their clients feel at home and like apart of their family. The whole Ambassador team has blown us away, and every trade that has worked on our house has been awesome not only with the quality of work, but the speed and the cleanliness - i have never seen a job site inside be kept as clean as our house has. Doug Foote, our project manager has truly been out of this world in terms of how great he can manage a project, keep the troops moving happily, quickly and efficiently, but more importantly Doug has been there every step and every day to communicate with, to bounce ideas off of and to help ensure every detail of our dream home has come to reality from our architects drawings and we truly feel blessed that Doug has been managing this project - youre the man Doug, thank you soo much!! Michele and Kathie in the office were exceptional at answering questions and getting things filed with the town. Chris, did an amazing job with the finish work in the house. The process started by meeting with Gary, the owner, who was great in laying out a plan and a vision for my home. He gave us excellent referrals who echoed all of the reviews I read. It was nice to have the owner of the company walk you through the process.My project manager Doug was also great. He was constantly updating me on the status of the project and always on the ball. So after meeting with several contractors, my wife and I felt very comfortable with Ambassador, despite them being the most expensive. We felt they understood our vision for a custom basement so we engaged Ambassador for our project. The work was very good and we were very pleased with the outcome as it aligned with our expectations. Were there hiccups along the way? Sure, but we felt that was par for the course when dealing with home improvement contractors. We ended up with a beautiful basement and everyone is quick to notice the high-end work, materials, and craftsmanship. Dan and Doug were also great to work with. While all of this sounds like a five-star rating is warranted, it is the post-project communication and service that warrants a three-star rating. To be honest, it’s been frustrating to get Ambassador’s third-party contractors to come back and service issues that have arisen within a year of project completion. Ambassador offers a lifetime guarantee on their work, but I’m not sure how much value I would put on that considering the lack of responsiveness and service post-project. It’s a shame that we have to accept a beautifully done basement is just short of perfect. I’ve been waiting weeks and months for people to come back and adjust cabinet doors, tighten a leaky pipe in the bathroom, and service the ductless units so at this point, I feel like we will have to accept these imperfections or hire someone else to resolve these issues.Overall, great work and great outcome, but post-project communication and service was really poorly handled.This is an update to my earlier 3-star review above...Gary the owner had acknowledged my concerns and reached out directly to address the post-project issues that I had experienced above. You can tell Gary is passionate about his business and cares deeply about his customers and their satisfaction. He reached out to me immediately while he was away on vacation with his family to let me know that he will take care of any outstanding items. As soon as he was back in town, he stopped over to gather feedback on how him and his team could improve. I was actually shocked by this as I didnt expect to hear anything after I had posted my initial review. Needless to say, Gary took care of everything quickly and treated me like an important client and made it a point to let me know that he will do whatever it takes to make me a forever client. Garys attentiveness and client care is worthy of a 5-star review. I will absolutely consider Ambassador again for any future home improvement projects, large or small.

If you are in the market for a home renovation of any type Ambassador Home Improvements is your company and Doug Foote is your man. We recently completed a total kitchen and garage renovation which involved both spaces being brought down to the studs, appliances being relocated, a load bearing wall being removed and another wall being relocated to enlarge the kitchen space. We first met with Gary Zaccaro, the owner, and had planned to meet with other contractors as well. But after meeting with Gary, receiving the contract and accepting the price, we said why bother. We were sold on his personality, his professionalism and mostly, his confidence. To us it was a major project, to Ambassador it was something they had done hundreds of times in the past with major success. As one might imagine, tackling a construction project back in the early days of the pandemic had its challenges, but with Doug leading the way, as our Project Manager, the experience was a most positive one. Our kitchen came out beautiful and our garage is warmer, brighter and much more functional. Jaws drop and people are in awe when they see both spaces.Make no mistake about it, your project manager can make or break the experience. Doug is a true professional and was wonderful to work with. He was most patient and understanding with our concerns and questions and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the building industry. He never cut corners or pinched pennies and often went the extra mile to make sure something was done right. Another of his very strong attributes is his communication skills. Throughout the project we received numerous texts from him detailing the days events and schedules. Who to expect and when to expect them. Thats extremely important and very appreciated when dealing with the disruptions and craziness that major construction inevitably can cause. And equally as strong an attribute is hes just a nice guy with a most engaging personality, a great sense of humor and just a fun guy to be around. We were most fortunate to work with him as hes a true top asset to Ambassador and the entire contracting world.Of course, another most important and obvious aspect of a major home renovation are the day-to-day workers and trades brought in. Gary Zaccaro has obviously spent many years cultivating and assembling a team of extremely talented and professional craftsman. They all did a terrific job, are tops in their fields and like Doug so easy to work with. They all were patient with our questions and made sure we were happy with what they were doing. They treated our home like it was theirs. My husband and I were looking to have a kitchen and bathroom renovation. We had interviewed 8 other companies for the job before making the call to Ambassador. They were the last people we called. Jason from Ambassador came to our home for a consultation. He was professional and informative in how our renovation would be handled. We felt he was very honest respectful and knew what he was talking about. After a couple of meeting with Jason we decided Ambassador was the right contractor for us. We were then scheduled an appointment with Dan who was the kitchen designer. He did a great job with helping us design our awesome kitchen. Dan was so helpful in guiding us towards our choices. Then came Doug our project manager. When the time came to start our project Doug went through all the plans and how the whole process was going to be from start to finish. He was reliable and always had each day scheduled on what was going to be for that day. He made things go smoothly and proficiently with a lot of attention to detail. We interviewed five contractors before meeting Gary Zaccaro from Ambassador Home Improvements. Our plans to renovate our home down to the studs was extensive and we needed someone who was dependable, honest, and who could complete this project as timely as possible. After meeting Gary and hearing about his company we felt comfortable in Ambassador’s capabilities and that our renovation would be a priority. This was very apparent during our second meeting with Gary. He walked through the house and from memory recalled the renovation specifics room by room, including exact measurements and materials. No request was impossible, and for the many specifics that we had yet to determine he had ideas and suggestions that were creative and smart. From the framers to the carpenters, we found his team to be exceptionally hard working, trustworthy and clean. They moved at a jaw-dropping pace, and the time from demolition to move-in was seven months. Jason (a master carpenter and on-site foreman ) spent the last few months leading the teams of carpenters, tilers, painters, plumbers and electricians. He is a perfectionist (as is Gary) and would find little things that bothered him that my husband and I would never have noticed (the direction of the screws in an outlet, or a tiny part of unfinished wood showing only if you got on the ground and looked under an appliance). They take pride in their work and will do what it takes to make the final product amazing and the customer happy. Our house exceeded our expectations and looks absolutely stunning! I would highly recommend Ambassador Home Improvement.

In four short months, Ambassador Home Improvement turned our basic Levit cape into a beautiful 2700 sq ft mother-daughter home - all within budget and in time. More than that, the quality and craftsmanship of the work as well as the dedication of the Ambassador team gets my highest recommendation and wholehearted endorsement. If you need a quality job done properly, beautifully, and on time, don’t waste your time with others, just call Ambassador.After researching area contractors and asking around for recommendations, we decided to go with Ambassador mainly because of their stellar reputation for high quality jobs done in a timely fashion. We also brought a challenging set of circumstances to Gary Zaccaro and his team. My father, who was diagnosed with dementia several years ago, would have to move out of the house while the renovation was being completed. While we thought dad could handle this, it was important that our contractor work quickly and within a promised time frame. The situation only got worse as just when we were slated to move forward, he was diagnosed with colon cancer. The stress of my family was incredible but through all of this, Gary and Doug Foote (our project manager) made sure to work us into their production schedule and were incredibly sensitive to my family’s needs.We funded the project using a 203K Mortgage. This type of loan is very paper-work intensive, and it took a little effort on my end to follow the draws and disbursements from the bank. However, Michele and Kathy in the Ambassador office made sure that the paperwork was always in order and answered any of my questions promptly. One of the keys to Ambassador’s success, I think, is the very able and professional office support staff. They are wonderful.While we used our own architect, Gary and Doug worked seamlessly with him to ensure that our project was completed just as we envisioned it.As for the actual work, there was never a doubt in my mind that we were going to have the nicest house in the neighborhood once Ambassador was completed. From day one on April 24 when the demo crew showed up, the work moved along at an incredible pace. Within a week our home had a roof and windows, and we were well on our way to project completion.I developed a very strong working relationship and friendship our PM Doug. If I ever had a question or concern, Doug answered my text or call within ten minutes no matter what time of day or night, week day or weekend. In my opinion, Doug was the lynchpin to our getting back into the house on August 24 – four months to the day from when we began. We were promised a four month completion and that’s exactly what we got, due in large part to Doug’s skills and ability to coordinate and incredible number of subcontractors, tradesmen and craftsmen. Not only was Doug a great project manager, but he helped us envision a few alterations to the project along the way that made the finished project even better. He has a great sense of space and design and a keen ability to “get things done” that is impressive and a true testament to the skilled crew and quality work that Gary guarantees at the beginning of the process. To give you an idea of how impressed we are with Doug – he knows that our door is always open to him if he’s driving in the area day or night and we feel we could not have gotten through this stressful summer when so much “family stuff” was going on parallel to our renovation without his support and assistance.I cannot say enough about the Ambassador team, the company, and the speed and quality with which our project was completed. While anyone can use high quality materials, it takes a special group of people to make a high quality company. Doing any sort of renovations on your home can be extremely overwhelming. You just never know where to begin. After researching and meeting numerous contractors we finally came across Ambassador.We had our initial meeting with Gary and just knew Ambassador was the right choice for us. Gary was very knowledgeable and always made it clear that they didn’t just do work, they did work the right way. This gave us the peace of mind that we were looking for.The overall process was a lot better than what we were anticipating, and we were able to stay on the timeline that had been set. Doug was truly a pleasure to have worked with. He took the time to listen to us and address any questions/concerns we had. He was always looking out for our best interest and it truly showed when he suggested changing the bathroom layout in order to give us a bigger shower while still having the open space we so desired.Working with Ambassador felt more of a personal relationship than a business transaction. Our project manager was Joe F. and he was terrific!Joe was extremely patient with all of my questions and helped me make decisions throughout the entire process. He often used good humor to guide me in the right direction and always gave me his honest opinion on things – even when it differed from mine. (And, by the way, Joe was usually right!)The quality of Ambassador’s workmanship was excellent! I found their staff and workers to be trustworthy, professional, and friendly. They took pride in what they did, and I never worried about any of the workers being in be home.I would highly recommend Joe and Ambassador for any of your home renovations!

Details below, but to summarize, we would highly recommend Gary/Ambassador—definitely exceeded expectations all around (and this is our home, so like everyone else would, we certainly had high expectations).In what seems like an industry fraught with horror stories of massive delays, cost overruns and endless complaints, I think we were pretty lucky finding essentially the opposite of that with Ambassador. We own a split level house and planned to add a new second level as a master suite, along with other major interior/exterior renovations, but had never taken on a project anywhere near that size and no one we knew was willing to recommend their contractor from any prior major construction project. After meeting a few other contractors we found online and through friends of friends (I’m sure they were fine, but no standouts really), we learned about Ambassador literally from the Town permit/license sign in front of a neighbor’s house who was in the middle of an even bigger construction project. We were impressed at the first meeting, kept moving forward in the process from there, and ultimately signed with Gary.Here’s the best way to summarize our experience: #1 I’ve taken longer to finally get to hanging a few picture frames in my house than it took Ambassador to complete this entire project (when we were in the planning stage, Gary said construction would take 10 weeks (I had trouble not laughing out loud) and in the end, we were done in 10 weeks—like completely done); #2 the total cost was exactly the amount we agreed to in the contract (except for a few add-ons that we asked for ourselves during construction 😔), probably not because Gary has some kind of secret budgeting technique that few other contractors have been able to get their hands on, but because he and his team just kept their word, did what needed to be done, and delivered the promised results for the promised price (or, at least that’s what it seemed like to us); and #3 the finished product was (is) great—very plainly, these guys just do high quality work, from Gary to the project manager (thanks Doug!) to the in-house trades and the few sub-contractors (shout out to the guys who did the siding, excellent work and super detail-oriented).All-in-all, we were very happy with the results and the process, and again, would highly recommend Ambassador.Side Note: my wife also did an amazing job quarterbacking this whole process and I give her at least 6 or 7 ⭐️s. 😉

We hired Ambassador to construct a rear dormer, install all new 2 zone HVAC and heating system, and reside our entire house among other things. I knew going in from others who had done major renovations that these projects never go according to plan. That is why when selecting the contractor at the beginning of the process we put a lot of emphasis on the trust level we felt with each prospective company. We ended up picking Ambassador and I can honestly say that Doug and his team did not disappoint. Whatever the issue was Doug and his people were always very responsive and willing to go that extra mile to make sure all my concerns were taken care of. All of the people we worked with at Ambassador were extremely courteous and very willing to listen. We are extremely pleased with the outcome of our project which was finished on time and are looking very forward to the next phase, living right!!! Thank you, Doug, for listening and understanding. Ambassador completed our major home renovation in the time frame they said they would. Our project manager Joe was on point with all aspects throughout the renovation. We got daily progress reports and if there were any changes he would tell us right away. Anytime I had a question or concern I had no problems getting in touch with Joe or Gary the owner they would alway get back to me. Sometimes even after hours (Sorry Joe). As far as the work goes, we couldn’t be happier. Everyone that came to the house was professional and cleaned up after themselves. He informed us when certain subs were coming and what to expect from them. He explained the choices that we had and helped us with solutions to challenges that we faced. He made sure that we knew the upcoming schedule and was flexible in his assignments.The workers (both direct employees and subcontractors) were all highly skilled in their specialties. We were impressed with the pride in their work and it showed up in the results.During construction, there were many surprises lurking behind the walls. Ambassador never waivered in their bid prices.Our overall experience was excellent and we would recommend Ambassador HI to anyone looking to tackle a large or small job. Money well spent on our significant investment.

Whenever I look to make a purchase or hire a service, I do a lot of research. When it came to renovating my home, I did even more. I narrowed it down to two contractors, one being Ambassador. After meeting with both, there was no doubt Gary was our guy. His passion and enthusiasm for what he does was evident. His response time was also impressive. He had a full proposal to me by within 24 hours and addressed every one of my questions and concerns. This did not cease at all throughout the renovation. His project manager, Doug, and office manager, Michele, also followed suit. They were always reachable, extremely helpful whenever I needed them and a pleasure to deal with. We had extensive work done by Ambassador, new kitchen extension, 2 bathrooms plus 2 bedrooms redone along with complete residing, roofing and some new windows and a garage extension. I was impressed with the attention to detail, craftsmanship and quality. Doug was our project manager and was a pleasure to deal with, he always answered our texts no matter when they were sent. The workers were respectful , neat and clean. We did run into some problems but we did work them out. There were some design changes that sometimes were disappointing but unavoidable. All the people connected with Ambassador were more than courteous as were their sub contractors, the project did run over time but was completed just before Thanksgiving. I would definitely use and recommend Ambassador.

We just had a major renovation done on our home that included an extension on the dining room, new kitchen, two new bathrooms, fireplace, attic above my garage, and new floors and windows across the first floor. Ambassador did an amazing job. Not only do they have a great team of workers, but they also use high quality materials. Doug was a great project manager. He is very well organized, and got things done in a timely manner. Doug was always available to answer my questions and address any of my concerns and needs. He went above and beyond my expectations. All of the workers were great too. Plumbers, electricians, tile guys, carpenters, framers etc...all took pride in their work. If there was ever a hiccup, it was addressed quickly and with care. I especially want to mention Chris, one of the carpenters. He is extremely talented. Overall, this renovation was a smooth experience. Although Ambassador’s prices were higher than some of their competitors’ prices, the quality of their work and customer service was well worth it. There is a reason why people say “You get what you pay for.” I am extremely happy with my new house. I LOVE IT!!! Thank you Ambassador!!!

When we went out looking for the right contractor, boy did we hit a home run when we met Gary of Ambassador Home Improvement! Every step of the way Gary Zaccaro and the Ambassador Home Improvement crew treated our house like a home. We underwent a major renovation, complete gut, roof tear off, additional 1000 square foot extension, foundation work and relocate underground utilities all while my family with three teenagers and a cat lived in the basement. Joe Fiorella, our project manager, was AMAZING! He oversaw all aspects of the renovation including time management, budget and safety. Not only was Joe thorough, Michele, Kathie and Gina in the office were a great asset to Ambassador. They handle all of the behind the scene tasks to make sure my job finished according to schedule. That meant a lot to my wife and I. They finished on-time and within budget even after adding on a complete kitchen gut and renovation midway through the job. Dan, Ambassadors kitchen designer, did a wonderful job designing us our dream kitchen. They dont blindly build off the blueprints but work with you and make suggestions so that your DREAM HOME becomes a reality. They have been in business for 25 years. That is hard to find in a company these days. They will be around for another 25 years because of their trustworthiness, workmanship and friendly staff

We just finished up our home renovation with Ambassador. The results are fantastic. The process is simple. You start with a meeting with the owner, Gary where you discuss your vision for your home. If you are doing a kitchen or bath over, he will set up a consultation with Dan, the designer, who provides a schematic of the layout. It’s one stop shopping because this is all done at his office.Once the work begins, it’s like clockwork. Teams come in and tackle their projects. You won’t be sitting there waiting for them to show up. This company prides itself on timely service and communication. Occasionally, I would have a question about something, I would reach out to Gary and literally within minutes, I either had an answer to my question or he would send someone over to address my concern. You don’t get that everywhere.I don’t write too many reviews but when something is worth the accolades and it can help someone make an informed decision, I’m all for it. So basically, if you are doing a home renovation…I would strongly suggest using Ambassador.

Over a year ago I met Gary at my elderly mothers newly purchased home in Wantagh. Gary was on time which was an unusual experience for me.My mother bought a wreck and Ambassador transformed it into a beautiful home. We redesigned the entire home. We moved every room , every window location, moved the stairs to the basement, added stairs to the attic, installed new siding, turned a two car garage into a one car garage (increasing living space) , converted to gas, added a laundry room on the first floor, installed new electric and new plumbing throughout, installed on demand heat and hot water, cut a door into the side of the garage, added a sliding glass door, new oak floors throughout, and created a large open floor plan.My mother says everyone who visits is amazed. Project manager Joe Fiorella was great to work with. He is knowledgeable and hard working.Thank you Ambassador for giving my mother a beautiful, practical home. I will post pictures later bc she is still moving in and a lot of her stuff is still out of place.

Fast forward 14 years and my son bought a house in Massapequa. This house was not only all original, but poorly cared for. With absolute certainty I called Gary at Ambassador to come take a look. He listened to what we wanted to do and made some fantastic suggestions. The house was done in record time. His crew is very conscientious and do meticulous work. We replaced all the windows , new roof, siding, built a beautiful portico and new stoop. It looks like a completely different home. They did an awesome job!! Specifically, the projects were managed by Gary Zaccaro, owner and president of Ambassador. He and his entire crew WERE AMAZING from start to finish. His ideas were thought provoking and original. We did thorough research and with the great reputation they had with numerous referrals we made the best possible decision we could have made.We recently purchased a ranch and decided to redo the first floor and add a second story on top.We specifically requested Doug to be our project manager after hearing AMAZING reviews from others that had him for similar projects. I capitalize amazing because that is truly what he is. He is responsive at all times, including after hours and weekends. He continuously is updating you on what’s going on with the project at all times.The trades were very neat and professional. They make you feel very comfortable being in and out of your home all the time.They stuck to schedule and the contract was on point for what was listed out with no hidden fees. That is very important and came up from time to time with other referrals that we met with for other companies (mostly smaller guys)We checked up on the house every day (highly recommend doing so) and the materials that were used were impressive to the eyes of those that came in and knew the business. Any time we had a question on something Doug would clarify right away and help us with whatever questions we hadIn closing, Ambassador by far and away was the right choice. When it comes to larger projects there will always be occasional speedbumps, what’s important is having the right people in place to help during these times. Some smaller companies or untrustworthy companies will walk off a job or disappear when things go south. Doug was there every step of the way and I couldn’t say enough great things. He single handily made this process easier on my family and I. We just recently moved into Massapequa about a year and a half ago. Im pretty meticulous so finding someone to take care of something in my 1st Home wasnt very easy for me to do. I needed to have floors put down and with so many uncertainties I had a style in mind. With Gary Zaccaros expertise my wife & I could not be more impressed with the design that he was able to put together for us. This particular brand of flooring was chosen with the fact that we have dogs, which limited our selection of flavors. Thankfully the style & contrast all came together which meshed very well with the furniture that weve already had picked out for these rooms. So enclosing from start to finish this was an awesome experience. We worked with Ambassador Home Improvement (AHI) on a significant project, which included remodeling our main floor, all three bathrooms, stairs, basement, kitchen, five bedrooms, updating our HVAC system and boiler. Simply put, from start to finish and responding to concerns after project completion, AHI was fantastic. From the detailed walk through of our home discussing what we envisioned for the project to supporting us with selections and keeping us in the loop with project status, it was comforting to know we could count on AHI to be thought partners with us. The way everything turned out is more than we could have asked for. Gary and his team were incredibly responsive, always on top of the work and when issues would come up as they would in any large scale project, they could be trusted to work with us to come up with solutions. They are also good on their word on following up even after the work is done. After a couple of months of project completion, when we encountered a minor issue with our HVAC and shared this with AHI, they sent someone on that day to resolve the issue. Last but not least, a huge shout out to our project manager, Doug. He is awesome!

I had renovations done on my home January 2013. Most companies after a year won’t even answer your calls. Over the years, I had a few minor issues that came up, but was always addressed immediately. On Friday I called Gary , owner and told him I was having an issue with my heating. He texted me that a seviceman would be at my home on Saturday. By 9:00 am I had a serviceman at my home to fix my problem. I can assure you.there not any company out there that would even bother to contact a customer after 6 years. Ambassador does quality and he stands behind any work he does. I would highly recommend ambassador for any work i needed on my home. They aren’t any companies out there that the owner gives you his personal number and handles any problem immediately. Best construction company.

Let me start by saying that in all my years of having work done (NYC real estate / business owner) I have never experienced a more professional staff than the guys at Ambassador.Vision. This is what this field requires. These guys come up with a vision, they plan it out, AND price it UP FRONT practically to the penny. Yes. From start to finish.For years I have dealt with promises on pricing and quality in Manhattan. What I found were companies giving one price, then you sign to them and about 75% down the road they throw in nonsense costs that were not there before. (Why cant Ambassador come to the city??) At this point you are up against a wall and are forced to abide by their price raise.Ambassador will stand by their promise. what you see is what you get. There is no hidden cost nonsense.Naturally when working on a project there will be punch lists. These are little fixits that need to be taken care of when your job is done. All jobs have them. This is common. I have had punch lists hanging in my business for months. Contractors finish a job, get paid and they are very difficult to get back to do the fine finishing work. Not Ambassador ! These guys sent people over to check up on my punch list!!! They knocked it out AS the job progressed.I swear that when my home was complete, I walked through and hadnt ONE outstanding job left unfinished. This to me is priceless.I will end it with this.... my home was the smallest on my block. It is by far the most beautiful on the block.Two weeks ago l received a letter in my mailbox from a location scout from Long Island City. They saw my home and are considering using it on an upcoming episode of CBS tv show MADAME SECRETARY.GARY and his crew are top notch !

They weren’t the cheapest, but they were the only company confident about installing central air, which earns them 5 stars. They managed everything, from design to permits and construction. Doug Foot, our project manager, was helpful and easygoing. Heres how the work breaks down:Framing (A+): Fast, efficient, and flexible with plan changes (e.g., deeper closets, vaulted ceiling) at no extra cost.Roofing (A): Good work on our shed dormer and full roof replacement ($7K extra). Nails left in the yard were the only downside.Plumbing (A): Great work on the new bathroom and heat installation. They also fixed an unrelated washer leak by upgrading the standpipe.Electrical (B): Efficient but odd outlet placements and poor cleanup.Drywall (A): Smooth, dust-free finish—perfect for painting.Flooring (A): Seamlessly replaced hardwood and installed bamboo flooring in five rooms.Bathroom Tile (A+): Beautifully installed custom tile to match the 1949 design. Doug even went to Lowe’s to get extra tile when we ran out.HVAC (B+): Installed in the attic (other contractors said it wasn’t possible). A few vents were improperly anchored, and some tools were left behind.Insulation (A): Completed quickly in half a day.Trim & Shelving (B): Strange closet shelf placement in sloped-roof areas reduced usability, but other trim work was solid.Finishing (F): Poor craftsmanship requiring DIY fixes. Issues included a sticking pocket door, rough drywall patching, upside-down outlet installation, and no attic hatch. I ultimately repaired several areas myself.Overall: Despite frustrations with finishing work, we’re very happy with the dormer and don’t regret choosing Ambassador. For major construction, they’re highly recommended, but keep an eye on the final details.

These guys did a great job. We did a first-floor full renovation, new framing, new kitchen, new stairwell, etc. They are very detail oriented, very clear with pricing, and did an excellent job staying on top of their subcontractors (who were all top notch as well). Few days were idle, and all the right people we there when they needed to be, keeping things moving. I will use them again for future work.

This company is up front, honest and dedicated. The work that was completed on our house was fantastic. It was a long journey, but more due to bureaucracy (permits) and lack of supply due to the crisis we face today. Make no mistake: they are not cheap. And once you see the work they accomplish you understand why. We went fro having a cape to a half dormer and a full new bathroom. Outstanding. I never write reviews but felt compelled to share my experience with Ambassador! I was pregnant with my 4th baby and desperate for additional space when we met with Gary. Reluctant to be stuck in construction for months while pregnant I trusted in Gary and his crew who assured me they would get to work right away and get things done in a timely fashion-they have not let me down! Our project manager Doug is amazing! He is an excellent communicator, gets work done and is able to offer creative ideas! He keeps the job moving and seems to have a great rapport with the rest of his crew. Looking forward to doing more work with Gary, Doug, and the Ambassador team!

Starting at the top with Gary everyone is honest and focuses on quality. But the person that really made it happen was Joe F, our project manager. With an eye for detail, Joe F. helped keep everything on track, informed us every step of the way, listened to all of our concerns; he made us feel like the most important customer. No detail was too small to ignore. Quality work at its finest. I highly recommend Ambassador for your next home improvement project.

I would first like to start with how happy Suzanne and I are with the finished product! We loved working with the owner Gary Zaccaro and the project manager Joe. Their whole team is amazing and everyone was so helpful throughout the entire process. From beginning to end, it was a wonderful experience. We initially started with a Second Story Build and quickly added on a Complete First Floor Renovation including a new Kitchen. After seeing how Ambassador Home Improvement took pride in their work and how they care for their customers, we knew we chose the right contractor. Dan, their kitchen designer, was very helpful and had great vision for what we were looking for. We then added on a Complete Basement Renovation, Stone work outside, Patio, and two Fireplaces, one on each floor. My favorite part was the Custom Bar Gary designed for me. I get so many compliments from family and friends. Not only were they very organized, the whole project ran smoothly. They were always available morning, noon and at night to go over any questions that I had. They made me feel comfortable and that my project was in the right hands. Ambassador Home Improvement and all of the crew were always concerned with our happiness and would go that extra step so that everything was perfect. I can not say enough how happy Suzanne and I are. Extremely reliable. After a major renovation in the summer of 2014, we just recently experienced a problem with the central air conditioning. We called Gary of Ambassador Home Improvement about the issue and he had a repairman at our home the following morning. Gary helped expedite the replacement of a part under warranty and the repair was completed as quickly as possible. We are happy to say we can count on Gary when we have a problem, even 5 years later.

We used Ambassador home improvements of Massapequa for a home renovation and extension. We had signed a contract in September 2020, but had many delays due to trying to get permits from the town. Of course, we were also dealing with Covid, which was making approvals come back very slowly.Finally, October 2021, we got permits. We wondered if ambassador might have us wait to start the project being it took so long, but they started it right away.We were assigned Joe F., as our project manager. We cannot say enough’GREAT’ things about Joe. He walked us through our renovation, step by step. He answered my endless list of questions and ‘what if’s’…..He made suggestions when we weren’t sure. He was with us every step of the way from beginning to end. He was at our house ‘every day’ a trade was working, whether it was digging in our backyard for a new basement and foundation, demolition, installing new windows, siding, installation, installing cabinets, tile installers and when the electricians and plumbers were coming to do their work. The trades were there many times six days a week and so was Joe, overseeing it all and making sure it was going according to plan. He was at our house so often, it was like he was our new best friend or a ‘welcomed’ member of the family.There were no material delays throughout the project. He had everything under control, Organized and available when it was needed. If a situation did arise, Joe was right there to take care of it before it became a problem.He would always keep us informed as to what would be happening the next day and who we should expect to come and at what time.We never had any doubt in our minds if we chose the best company for our job. With both my husband and I working full time with two small children to take care of, we wanted a company that not only did a good job, but were easy to reach, returned phone calls, addressed concerns, and finished in a timely fashion. That’s exactly what we got. We never felt like they were too busy with other jobs to pay attention to us. Our project manager Joe was great. I spoke with him daily and he worked with us tirelessly. Kathie and Michele at the main office helped out with all the finances and administrative concerns and were extremely helpful. I honestly would not hesitate should the need arise to use them again. I know If I ever need help I can just pick up the phone and call Gary and joe and they will be there.

Ambassador Home Improvement recently completed a job at my home in Dix Hills. When I first initiated contact with them; Gary, the owner was the one who came to my home. Gary, understood that most people work 9-5 jobs, and came to my house at a time when most other installers would be “unavailable”- This was not the case with Gary. I remember my first conversation with Gary… “Sure, whatever time works for you I’ll make myself and my staff available… I am 24/7”I had contracted a pool company to install a new in ground 22x46 pool. Gary, from the start of the project was there when they began to dig. He was always in contact with the other company, constantly reviewing measurements, and carefully paying attention to every detail. It was great knowing Ambassador was there during this crucial time.Now for the fun… What does one do with a hole in the ground, that is filled with water with absolutely zero landscaping, no pavers, no coping. Two words… “Call Gary”- or “Call Ambassador”Ambassador created the most beautiful back yard, retaining walls, pavers, custom rock waterfall, diving rock, and graded the property. Every day the contractor would either call or text me updates of what they did, and what the plan would be for tomorrow. Ambassador wanted me to feel that I am not only a part of the process, but that my visions, and opinions were not pushed aside.The workers came everyday on time, and often stayed late to finish whatever they were working on. I never once had to “Clean up” or be concerned about what was going on in my home, because I knew everything was under control.Throughout the job, Ambassador was not only reliable, and trustworthy but truthfully showed care, and concern for the final product.Homeowners often know the feeling when you complete one project or start another project it leads to another… Without any reservation, I would have Ambassador Home Improvement do every project for my home, and I recommend them to anyone who is looking to do any home renovation (interior, exterior… etc. They do it all, and they do it well!)Thank you again,JF & CF
