    We are so glad we went with the MJF Home Upgrade team for our basement renovation project! Our biggest priority was maximizing space, and unfortunately our basement posed a lot of challenges in achieving this (low ceiling, spread out utilities with poor placement, etc.) However, the biggest challenge was a pipe that jut out into the corner of the room, making the space around it unusable. Most contractors we contacted for an estimate told us that there was nothing we could do, that it would have to be considered dead space. When we met with Mike and Frank, they came up with a solution to reroute the pipe, enabling us to utilize the space as a large pantry closet! We are thrilled that we were able to make the best use of our space.The entire team was professional, efficient and provided high quality work. The entire project took about 5 weeks to complete, which is much faster than we thought possible. We love that our basement doesnt feel like a basement, but rather, an extension of our home. We highly suggest MJF Home Upgrades, and will definitely use them for any of our future home renovations!

    MJF has 5 stars for a reason - they are the best. They finished our massive unfinished basement and built stunning built in, wall to wall (40 feet) custom shelves and cabinets. My husband has collectibles and has been dreaming of a display room for 40+ years and MJF captured his vision and then some. The entire team is kind, patient, and so responsive. Things get done FAST but without cutting corners. The attention to detail is incredible. Frank oversaw the project and was incredible from start to finish. John and Jimmy were two of our regular contractors on-site and they were fantastic as well (and loved our dog, which always gets bonus points from me). I work from home and never once did the work feel intrusive or bothersome. The cleaned up every night. We have zero complaints and have recommended them to everyone we know in Long Island. Book them - you won’t regret it!

    MJF home upgrades was amazing for the remodeling of the basement of our dreams! From start to finish, they made our basement exactly how we wanted it!     This review is long over due but worth posting! We used MJF Home Upgrades for some remodeling work (demolition, painting, new door installation etc.) done in our home almost a year ago and I must say how pleased we were with the outcome.     Mike and his team were great and furnished my whole open bare bones basement into what you see here. Excellent job! His guys worked with quality and care on my home. There are a lot of details (plumbing, electrical, etc) that you have to address and worry about with furnishing a basement and they made sure all details were done correctly and responsibly. Mike makes sure his materials used are by code (i.e pressure treated lumber, mold resistant sheetrock, when needed) and builds accordingly. That’s more to say then other contractors. The team overall is a bunch of good, talented guys. All guys were great but two that stand out were Davey, who is a great at most aspects of the build out, and Tanner, an expert electrician who installs everything clean, symmetrical and daylight bright!I would say something for other customers to note that might be worthwhile. Make sure you are triple checking with the little (or major) changes that inevitably occur during your project. Things like paint colors and or special molding details are important to work out yourself to be ready for them to execute. They work relative quickly so you have to be ahead off them in your thoughts and decisions as you don’t want the job held up or somebody going in the wrong direction due to you not giving clear direction.Ultimately they will try to make good on any miscommunication but it saves everyone delays and stress if you are prepared and thought out a few days ahead of them.Overall, if you are rating on quality of workmanship, satisfaction and peace of mind for yourself, an honest and hard working team at a fair price, I give MJF hands down the highest recommendation.

    Very happy with the remodel of our basement. We are happy to recommend this company. The estimate was very fair. Everyone that worked for the company was very professional. We mainly dealt with David. He always went out of his way to take care of our questions and issues. The job was started on the date that was planned and promised. That rarely happens with a contractor. They also took great care of our home as they did demolition and when they brought large supplies into our home. I plan on using them in the future without hesitation.

    We hired MJF for some major home renovations including finishing our basement with a new full bathroom, existing bathroom remodeling, removing a load bearing wall, creating a walk-in pantry, replacing stair spindles / banister, and trim work. After our initial introduction to Frank, the project manager / estimator, we were impressed with his responsiveness, patience and design ideas. He thoroughly walked through and documented the ideas for our project and provided a fair quote for all of the work. Throughout the project, Frank was communicative and helped to answer any questions we had along the way. The crew was great to work with – always on time, friendly, highly skilled, and willing to take the time to consult with us (something as simple as which direction a door should open or the height of shelving) rather than just doing it and moving on. Special shout out to Jimmy and big John for their attention to detail leading through the many phases of our projects. Mike, the owner, made sure to stay on top of his team’s work and checked in regularly with us throughout. We’ve already recommended MJF to close friends and are happy to recommend them to anyone reading this review. We absolutely love the transformation of our home and we’re already planning the next few projects with MJF.

    Mike and MJF team have performed a number of different projects for me that have varied in both size and scope from painting a few rooms to a total gut and restore of an entire house as a flip investment. You can count on them to perform quality work, at a good price, on time and right on budget...no surprises whatsoever. The house flip was done in a 60 day window. House had 5 offers over one open house weekend and sold immediately. All other projects were also right on plan. Mike drives the projects from start to finish...both large and small.

From start to finish, Mike took capable charge of the job...removing the old door, placing the old door into the new door’s box making it easier for us to dispose of, installing the new door beautifully, and, on top of that, going into his own wood supply to replace a rotting saddle (that wasn’t even part of the original job).     I NEVER recommend people / companies to friends. It never goes well.BUT.. the one Person / Company Ill go out of my way to refer to everybody is our Contractor, MJF.They just redid my Deck. Not only is it gorgeous, but its was very reasonable. They literally brought an image I liked on Google to life, in my backyard.The crew were also like friends by the end of the job.. having polite conversations and playing with our Dogs.My wife and I are looking to add an extension soon.     We used MJF Home Upgrades for a full kitchen renovation, as well as, cosmetic updates throughout our home including accent walls, wall repair, trim, new doors, and paint.From start to finish, we were blown away by the team. After receiving multiple estimates, we met Mike, the owner, and immediately felt comfortable moving forward with the project. He was very friendly and knowledgeable; he listened to our wish list and was able to give suggestions to make sure we got what we wanted. We quickly received a detailed estimate that proved to be very close to actual cost. There were no surprises along the way. After committing to the project, work started almost immediately. Matt, the project manager, was amazing. He was very personable, in constant communication with us, onsite everyday, and made sure everything was done to the highest quality. The crew were all extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and reliable.They showed up everyday at 8am, worked all day, cleaned up thoroughly, and were out by 4pm.     We just finished our extension and kitchen renovation project with MJF and couldn’t have more positive things to say about the entire experience. Not only was the MJF project manager, Frank, and the rest of the MJF crew very easy to work with, the other contractors that they brought in were just as friendly and skilled. Frank was communicating with us daily, and was present at our house on a consistent basis to make sure that the project moved along every step of the way. Our project was not without a few unexpected hurdles, but Frank and the MJF team helped us overcome those obstacles, without breaking the bank or delaying the project. If google allowed me to give six stars on this review, I would!

    MJF Home Upgrades is our Go-To for All our home projects; They have created an amazing Home Office, a beautiful Bathroom, replaced every one of our Interior Doors, upgraded our molding, designed and created a unique closet Barn Door, and replaced all of our Hardwood Flooring, they have completely Sided our house (used beaded board siding for overhangs and soffit....came out beautiful with accent lighting), and created custom columns for an outdoor project. Mike and his crew have been extraordinary and Mike has made each project a pleasure from design to cleanup....hassle-free, no surprises, zero aggravation!!!Our latest MJF Home Upgrades project was a Shed that turned out exceptionally beautiful and unique...Mike added a simple batten and board accent that really put it over the top!! Mike and his guys, Jimmy and Donnie, did an awesome job!!I cannot say enough good things about Mike and his Team; from design (great ideas) to execution, the process is flawless. Mike does quality work at reasonable prices, his crews are professional, considerate, and talented.I recommend MJF Home Upgrades without hesitation or reservation!     So pleased with the siding & gutter work MJF Home Upgrades did on our house. Work was done fast and went pretty smooth. Have no complaints. The house turned out beautiful. They were professional and made sure everything turned out the way we wanted. Would highly recommend them and would definitely used them for any other work we would need in the future.

    We used MJF Home Upgrade to remodel a bathroom and a closet. A walk in shower with a bench was wanted. Also needed was a new window and all new wall and floor tiles. The employees were always on time, worked hard, cleaned up, and completed the projects quickly- as scheduled. I needed it done by a certain time and it was done promptly. The tile work was impeccable and all was done with care. Mike, the owner, was always available when needed.We also had a bedroom closet expanded. It was an odd shape, but they were able to make it very functional and easy to utilize. I was waiting for an added fixture to come in and Mike called to check up to see if it arrived and when he could come back to install it. I would highly recommend using MJF Home Upgrades.

    Mike is absolutely amazing. Being a business owner, owning 2 commercial buildings and three residential properties - my business partner and I use Mike for all of our projects - professional and personal.     We just had some renovations done and it all looks fantastic. Michael is the owner and was the manager of the project and he was involved in every aspect of the demo and Reno.     Mike was absolutely amazing from the time he stepped into our house for an estimate to when he completed our renovation. This was no little reno job either! Completely ripped out our kitchen, took out a bedroom(transformed into a back way foyer), opened the walls leading down into our basement, and extended our closet! Was so impressed how he could transform what I pictured in my mind to my actual home, especially since it was hard to be clear with the envisions in my mind! Him and his team were extremely professional. On top of it all his pricing was unbelievable. We highly recommend MJF!!!!
