    Gus has a very unique and insightful approach on how to help people deal and figure out issues as it relates to water and leaks with in and around their house.Our basement was flooded completely a few years back and wish I would have been able to visit with Gus when this occurred.     Call The Leak Detective, you will be SO GLAD you did! This was the best thing we have ever done for our home of two years. Gus gave us a detailed plan for grading the soil around our house so water can drain away from the house where it is supposed to go. We liked learning about our yard and house from Gus--now that we have that invaluable information, we will be able to maintain our home on our own from here on out. We highly recommend this service!     Gus at the Leak Detective was beyond expectational to work with. He is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to find the root of the problem all while keeping you, the customer, informed of the process. His observations and analysis are detailed and provide a lot of background when determining a cause for an issue. As mentioned before, he will not steer you into making an unnecessary fix. If you ever find yourself with a water intrusion issue and you have no idea where to start, I would highly recommend giving Gus a call first.

    Gus has great knowledge when it comes to drainage on your property. Not only can he detect the leaks on an existing building but he can also give recommendations on a new construction. We used Gus to make sure the drainage on the house were building will is done properly to avoid leaks in the future. I would highly recommend hiring Gus.

    Had water problems for years and everyone told me I would have to tile at enormous expense. Gus asked me one question: do you get water all the time or only when it rains? The best, wisest $250 I ever spent was hiring this brilliant, easy to work with professional. He produced a thorough, illustrated report and helped me find a landscaper to do the ditching and mulching required. I ended up spending under $1500 (including Gus) and my basement is tight as a tick. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

    I live in Omaha NE. and experienced water intrusion into my basement the winter of 2019. Someone referred Gus...The Leak Detective to me so I set up an appointment with him. He spent about 3 hours at my property, examining the problem, interior and exterior, and then we talked through all of the issues that he identified that caused the water intrusion problem and recommended mitigation efforts for each one. He then sent me a very detailed report so that I could reference it after the fact and continue to work on fixing all of the problems. Gus was very kind, very thorough, super knowledgeable about how water gets into a basement, and even texted with me after the fact when I had questions. I implemented almost all of the recommended mitigation efforts and I havent had one issue with water interaction since! Gus, the leak detective, is an absolute go to if you are experiencing any type of water intrusion into a home!

    Like me, youre probably ended up here after receiving expensive quotes from multiple waterproofing companies recommending drilling holes into your basement walls and installing drain tiles and sump pumps. At first I was doubtful of what the leak detective advertised on his website. Cheaper fix? Evaluations instead of bids? No credentials? Honestly, I thought the website gave scam vibes. Well, Gus was spot on is the service he delivers. And he has credentials, just ask. I was impressed he was the only one out of 5 free estimates I had had to check the gutters and driveway for defects first. His long report was extremely through, included pictures of problem areas and recommendations that someone more handy than me could probably do themselves.     Attention: Please hire Gus before you have major foundation work done to address a leak in your basement! He can save you literally thousands of $$ while addressing the root issue.     I just read the negative review by Darwin of the Leak Detective and have one word for it -- hogwash. This bad review was obviously written by someone who wanted valuable services for peanuts. We had Gus with The Leak Detective come over to our house because we had water from a heavy rain rushing in through a basement door. Gus walked around our back yard and told us exactly what the problem was and what we needed to do to fix it. His solutions were low-cost fixes. Im sure if we had called some basement contractor we would have been given a quote for thousands of dollars. Gus is extremely knowledgeable about what causes leaks into the house and ways to fix them. Trust me -- if you have leaks he can save you thousands of dollars and much worry and headaches. His service is invaluable.

    I had a small leak in my basement last summer due to an increased amount of rain. Though it was minimal, I wanted to find out where this small leak was starting, I had Gus out to my house, he walked the perimeter of my house and instantly knew what was the cause of the leak. I have river rock landscaping, this was acting as a filtration system and allowing the rain water to sit and after enough rain, it had to go somewhere. He advised that if I were to add dirt, angle away from my house and add a thin lining, under the river rock this would fix the problem. I took his advise and have had no water issues since. The fix was easy on my pocket book, for a minimal fee Gus charged and less than $50 in product to fix, I was very satisfied with the knowledge and expertise he offered. I have since referred others to him and they have been 100% satisfied with the information and work he has done for them!

    Gus is very passionate about finding leaks in the home, the root of the problem and issues that are causing them, but surprisingly, more so on saving the consumer money. Having water in the basement is stressful, but having Gus on board to fix the issue is a large help, both money wise and stress relief wise as well.

    If youre looking at The Leak Detective then theres a good chance that you were quoted by another company to get an expensive sump pump and you dont want to fork over thousands of dollars. And youre also probably thinking this is too good to be true. But its not!While Gus was inspecting a home he asked me where I thought the leak was coming from, I gave 2 guesses and they were both wrong. After about 10 minutes Gus already had a good idea where the leaks were coming from. He ran a couple tests, and it was a success. Not only did he find the leak, he also offered a solution that would fix the leak for a lot less than a new sump pump.If youre debating whether or not The Leak Detective will work for you, just give Gus a call and see what he thinks. Chances are hell help you and save you a lot of money.
