    Travis, Andre, and there teams did amazing job on our renovation after we had a leak that damaged our hard wood floors, and basement ceiling. Everything looks amazing. The floors, the kitchen, the paint etc… They were also so polite and accommodating throughout the whole project. They made sure we were satisfied and always available to answer questions. 100 % would recommend! They went over and beyond! Thank you!

    What a pleasure it was to work with Travis Thonen and his crew at Midwest Comfort Homes. The scope of work was a multiphase remodel + rennovation to a mid-century modern California ranch. First phase involved a section of an unfinished part of the basemen - transforming it into a work out room with egress window and associated storage areas. Second phase included the remodel of the kitchen and adjacent areas.The project manager, Travis Whetstone, was the perfect superintendent for all facets of the work - making sure the communication channel between Owner and GC was always open, answering all our questions, keeping us informed on schedule, critical path items and treating the work as though it was being done on his own home. We chose to live in the house during construction and Travis was attuned to our needs and concerns as we staged makeshift areas to make the experience as stress free as possible.I would highly recommend MCH to anyone that is considering a project for their home.

    So, is a remodel in your future? If you follow accepted advice, you will look at several companies. But, really --- do yourself a favor and choose MCH. My project was a two-bedroom, two-bath condo on the 6th floor of a highrise built in the sixties. The kitchen was dated and cramped; a wall divided it from a tiny dining space. Both rooms open to a living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony. Floors were carpeted or worn engineered wood. Closed-in closets and limited natural light were detriments. The bathrooms needed new lighting and paint. I chose MCH as my contractor, and TW Whetstone was the Project Manager. Despite working within building guidelines restricting work hours and noise levels, requiring advance notice to deliver supplies and reserve the freight elevator, and daily clean-up of common hallways, TW finished my condo on time and within budget. The quality of the work is exceptional. TWs oversight, experience, and attention to detail helped me make the best decisions for the space. Believe it or not, my condo project was easy and fun, and its a pleasure to recommend the company that did it.

    I hired Midwest Comfort Homes to remodel my master bathroom and a Jack and Jill bathroom on my 22-year-old home. My remodel was assigned to project manager Travis Whetstone who orchestrated every detail of my remodel flawlessly. He met with me initially to go over each aspect of the job. Over the course of the remodel he gave me a lot of suggestions and helped me make the best decisions for quality, affordability and aesthetics. He connected the project to a building app to log daily progress and upcoming schedules each day. Change orders were also tracked on this app so I had those costs available to me at all times. Travis worked with his associate Bud on most of the day-to-day work on the project. To say Bud was meticulous would be an understatement. Bud was a perfectionist on every task he worked on and he made sure that the job site was spotless at the end of each day. They even found existing problems with my electrical and plumbing that I didn’t know were there and promptly fixed those as well. There really wasn’t anything that Travis and Bud didn’t know how to do and do well. The work was so phenomenal that I added a third bathroom to the job and also had them tile my laundry room floor. The subcontractors that Travis hired to do my tiling were very hard working and extremely talented. I cannot say enough good things about the tile job they did in my house. Travis also had the carpenter that was going to build my cabinets and framing for my mirrors come out and meet with me personally to brainstorm ideas. He made sure that I got exactly what I had envisioned on every aspect of the project Travis and Bud are outstanding at their craft and very genuinely nice guys that made this remodel so stress-free. This is an A+ company and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to do any type of remodeling or repairs.

    Bud and Caleb were AMAZING!!! Very professional, responsible, dedicated and hard working! Since the beginning of the project they were very nice and answered all my questions.     Much to our dismay, we had a washing machine malfunction that flooded bedrooms and drained into the basement, causing part of the ceiling to fall. We were blessed with a recommendation to use MCH, and were absolutely delighted with their work. Travis explained the entire procedure, answering all of my questions and guiding me through the insurance process. They made sure to introduce us to all of the crews that came to work on our home. We never felt like we were just another job to them. Project manager Paul went above and beyond to ensure the quality of work done. He made sure that I was happy with every detail, addressing all of my concerns, no matter how big or small.We wholeheartedly recommend MCH for your home restoration needs. They are true professionals.

    Our home had roof damage from a storm that created many water problems within. Working with Travis and all the amazing employees at MCH has beet a great experience. They worked to get things right with our insurance company and then got to work replacing the roof and fixing the many other areas including floor, drywall, paint, and electrical. Everything was completed quickly and done extremely well. The whole MCH team communicate well, are truly top notch professionals, and deliver a best in class customer experience.     Travis and the group he has assembled are rare, what an incredible experience! My home was damaged by my utility provider, pulled the brick away from the foundation and left the power line to dangle at an unsafe level. He came to my home to meet me and assess the project in person, made sure I was comfortable with all his constituents, and adhered to all agreements signed prior to and after service. Craig was the overseer for the entirety of the project, and he was MARVELOUS!!!!!! Such a tolerant and patient gentleman. I’m a special bit of neurotic, and he was extraordinary about everything. Very communicative and took charge of organizing the rotation of worker bees coming to visit me. I cannot thank you and your team enough for getting everything back in order!!! I absolutely recommend these folks to anyone!

    When I came home in January, I found my house full of water from a faucet line that broke and destroyed the inside of my house on my three floors! It was horrible a stressful situation, I had no clue where to start or what to do, this is my first home and I have only had it for about a year and a half. I was so worried. Until a friend of a friend recommend MCH to me. I called and spoke to Travis, he was very understanding him and Raymond came out to the house the next day, was very quick to come out. Explained to me everything showed me a chart of what the steps would look like. I told him I wanted a company that will do everything for me, by talking to the insurance company, buy giving me good advice. Travis gave me multiple contacts of all the project managers and even their managers, Due my job I could not be at the house every moment. They assured me that they will do it everything they can possibly do to get me though these very stressful months, so I put all my trust in them and after two months they did everything I had asked of them they did way more then expected! The project manager Matt Harper was awesome! He and all the crew helped me me out tremendously! He even helped me with other projects I have been meaning to do like help me change a lightbulb and tell me what kind I needed (LED bulbs) when I noticed a small touch up needed I would tell them and Travis never gave me a negative attitude! Was always helpful! And when they found a issue with my French doors he explained to me what was wrong and gave me a great price to even fix that, something that had nothing to do with the damage that the water caused! Now two months later I am in my beautiful house. Feeling a lot less weight of my shoulders thanks to my new friends Travis the owner Raymond, Jillian from the office Travis W.,Christian in the remodeling team, Walter in carpet. Matt Harper the project manager!!     This is the 3rd time we’ve worked with Travis Whetstone. He first redid my kitchen cabinets. When he completed the job, my only comment was it looks like something Chip and Joanna Gaines would have done! We didn’t hesitate a couple of years later to have him remodel our hallway bathroom. It was awesome! Now he and his company just finished remodeling our master bathroom. The work is perfect and looks incredible! Ken and Karissa did a wonderful job.     I would just like to leave a quick acknowledgment for the great job that Midwest custom homes did in repairing and restoring my house after a water leak. Travis and his whole crew were very professional even patient with me while dealing with a very difficult adjuster in the whole process. Travis and his whole team from the mitigation team all the way to the painters and carpet were nothing but professional and polite and courteous. I’ve never had a home repair of this magnitude before And frankly did not know how it would go, But Travis and his team laid out everything step-by-step put me at ease and the job although long with some delays because of the adjuster turned out beautifully. I would highly recommend Travis and his whole team if we have any home restoration or repair projects. We encountered a few challenges with the contracting team that performed the work; (painting/carpet) however we were able to resolve the issues.     MCH was an excellent team to work with! They were VERY professional and responsive! Our project manager (TW) was particularly easy to work with. Never once did he come to us with a problem without also being able to provide multiple options we could proceed with. (I think he took these (inevitable) project issues - which always come up - as personal challenges; he was going to get it fixed, and done properly at that!) TWs assistant Bud, was also a pleasure to have on the team; taking care of endless tasks that needing addressing. Last, but not least, the MCH (back) office (Jillian) was always easy to work and communicate with re project scope, invoicing, etc. issues. All in all, we are very glad we chose MCH as our renovation team!

    We found ourselves in need of some reconstruction work in our basement and an associate recommend Midwest Comfort Homes. When we first contacted MCH, we appreciated that they were able to come survey the needed work the very next day. We met with Travis and two of their estimators. Travis explained the process of how MCH would interact with our insurance company to make the claim and repair process easy. We were very impressed and agreed to have MCH do the work. We are very glad we did. The worst part of our process was having to deal with a difficult insurance company claims representative. The MCH estimators worked directly with the insurance company to make sure that we got all of the funds needed for repairs approved by the insurance (which, was not an easy task!). When the time for actual construction came, Travis introduced us to Mike, (another) Travis, Christian and Karissa...the team doing the actual work. They were all very professional and performed excellent work. Our finished project looks great. I would recommend MCH and use them again if the need were to arise.

    I honestly cant say enough good things about this company and the entire staff. What an awesome bunch. Travis has it together and has the best crews to work with hands down. My Mothers basement flooded in her new home. Upset would not be the word to use to describe how my mother was feeling, however, after the first walk through with Travis mom was ready to sign and get started. She was so at ease (something my mother never is with companies, especially if they are working on her home)! The communication was outstanding, we always knew what was going on. Any changes we wanted to make was never a problem nor were we ever made to feel like it was. I have never felt more pampered by a company. The craftsmanship was spot on.     This is the second time we have had MCH do work at our house. Both times they did a great job. First time Travis W was the project manager and this time Crag S was project manager. Both are super. Work was accomplished as planned. Workers came on time each day! MCH did not call the job complete until everything was double-checked.Craig kept in touch with us; we didnt have to guess what was going on and when. I would recommend MCH. Period.

    I was pleased with the work MCH did from the estimate process through project completion. The estimate was generated using the high-tech tools, and had the details I required. The project was kept close to the original timeline despite some surprises discovered during demolition of the exiting space. MCH was able to expand the project scope on the fly, and at reasonable cost. The Project Manager was knowledgeable, and he and his team were easy to work with. They showed up when they said they would. Overall, a good experience. I would use them again.

    Highly recommended. There were times when I wondered if they had other clients because they just seemed to be there in person whenever we needed them and we live far away from the city.     Experiencing an event that causes major damage to your home is extremely stressful. The folks at Midwest Comfort Homes understand that, and when we had a pipe burst causing significant water damage to our home they did whatever they could to help reduce that stress for us. In fact, owner Travis Thonen went through a catastrophic loss from a fire when he was young and saw the stress it put on his own family, so he understands what his clients are going through.Travis chose Paul Goode to be our project manager, and we couldnt be happier. Paul went above and beyond and was with us every step of the way throughout the restoration process. He answered questions at all times of the day and night to ensure that we understood everything that was being done and that we were assured that it was all gong to be okay, and he was right. The quality of work done is excellent and in many ways, our home feels better than new!We feel blessed to have found Midwest Comfort Homes, and especially to have had Paul Goode--who we now consider a friend--manage our restoration project.     Travis and his team at Midwest Comfort Homes did a great job on our remodels. We had a total basement remodel due to water damage and a couple of extra projects in the main area of the house. This was a first for us with regard to the basement remodel and Travis patiently walked us through the technicalities and the process. He also worked diligently with our insurance carrier.... there were some definite bumps in the process, and he stuck with it and helped us to receive the best payout for the basement claim. His team worked well together, were prompt, courteous and when unexpected issues arose (which they tend to do), really did some great trouble-shooting and thinking out of the box. We recommend them to anyone needing a remodel.

    Amazing company! They worked with us to get some issues fixed on our house that we were selling and did an amazing job. Then they closed a wall to mount a tv in our new homes basement and then came back we our basement was destroyed by a water pipe bursting.     We had MCH handle repairs after a shower valve broke in an upstairs bathroom, causing water damage to the ceiling in the room below. When we called, they were quick to come out and assess the situation. They coordinated with our insurance company to help make sure everything got approved, and once it was, they got the project started right away. Communication was excellent and the work was done quickly and professionally. They made the whole process as painless as possible. 100% recommended!

    We contacted almost a dozen contractors and MCH is one of only two that even got back to us with an estimate. They looked carefully at our home and gave us a very detailed estimate which we felt was a fair price. Communication was good throughout the process. Once work began they really went at it. We are very satisfied with the finished product- replaced/repaired wood rot and painted whole house. Definitely recommend and would use them again.

    I had water damage from a broken pipe in my basement. My neglected basement was a disaster, just stuffed with 30 years of stuff collected over the years. Much was junk. The water damage caused extensive mold growth and damaged a lot of items. MCH did an amazing job with my basement. It is beautiful and elegant now. Just like a makeover on HGTV. My project manager, Paul, was a pleasure to work with. He was very helpful any time I had a concern. He had great suggestions on how we could accomplish what I wanted the basement to look like when done. I am thrilled with the result of their work and would recommend them to everyone. If I had a picture to post I would but I will add them when I take them.

    We had the misfortune of water damage but had the fortune of MHC helping with putting our house back together. Paul was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC - very communicative, over saw the entire process, helped to ensure our household goods were taken care of. He really went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Travis did a great job working with the insurance and me to make sure our policy covered as much as possible and even helped to think through ways to be efficient in the rework. Cant recommend them enough!!

    I was so fortunate that all the firms I initially contacted to repair the rooms damaged by water were either too booked or considered my job too small so that I ended up with Midwest Comfort Homes. They were also committed to other storm damage, but grabbed a window when their projects were putting roofs on to divert trades (construction, etc) to come and start what I needed. Project managers came at the beginning and checked in to make sure everything went they way they expected. Each workman was careful, conscientious, and polite, and did a great job. It wasnt a blessing to have the initial damage, but I am so pleased with the result that I almost feel that it was a blessing after all. Highly recommend.

    We used MCH after we had a water damage accident in our upstairs master bathroom. Water caused damage to the flooring and more and then went through our kitchen ceiling and kitchen floor and into a portion of our basement laundry room. We were referred to MCH via Sage Restoration, who did the initial water remediation, dry out, etc. We initially met with Travis Thonen (the owner) as well as a couple of project managers who reviewed all of the damage, took detailed notes, photos, videos, etc. and explained their entire process and how it would work. We were very impressed by their initial process and expertise...and felt they were being honest about how these types of projects go (which was important to us because we had never gone through a remodel before). Our project manager was Travis Whetstone and two of the primary contractors we worked with were Christian and Karissa. Travis did an excellent job of checking in with us, being responsive to questions via call or text, and checking in each week to see the progress and advise Christian and Karissa as necessary. Christian and Karissa were GREAT...great attitudes...showed up on time...answered our questions....were very responsive if plans changed or if we needed clarification on anything. When all was said and done, MCH completely remodeled our master bathroom, completely remodeled our entire kitchen, and did some minor updates to our main floor bathroom, and updated our basement, which included new paint, carpet, and TV installation. This was a challenging thing for me and my wife to go through, but MCH made it better....we set expectations very early on and they met or exceeded them in every way. I would highly recommend MCH...just make sure you are communicating with them at every turn and approaching your project as partners....As I told Travis our project manager early on... Were either going to be good friends after this or be sick of one another....and now I consider him, Christian and Karissa friends. Thank you, MCH...keep doing good work...keep being honest...keep being good partners....and keep your integrity intact. I dont give these kinds of recommendations easily....so if I refer anyone to you going forward, Im trusting you to take as good of care of them as you did us!!

    I had a kitchen fire that left a sooty, dirty mess. MCH made all the repairs once the Sage Restoration team finished cleaning up the mess. My house is older so there were many challenges, but the MCH team met every challenge. Every person on the team, starting at the top with Travis, Craig, my project manager, Masi, Mike and on down to the subcontractors was pleasant, professional, and ON TIME. The outcome was a beautiful kitchen that looks like new! Thanks so much to everyone at MCH. I dont hope for another disaster, but if I every had one, I call them in a heartbeat!

    Working with Midwest Comfort Homes was a wonderful experience. They were flexible to our schedule and extremely accommodating to our desires and concerns. TW as our project manager came out almost every day to inspection and ensure the workers were working to excellent standards. Andre, as the foreman, was extremely knowledgeable and skilled; his skills with the wood floors was excellent. Even when we had some moments where tile work or clean up was less than satisfactory, TW and Andre followed through to make sure that work was done until we were completely satisfied. We are so happy with the results, and would recommend this company to anyone, and we would definitely use this company in the future.
