I first contacted Roman after reading these google reviews and was not disappointed. Not only was his estimate the best out of the other companies in downtown jersey city area, but it ended up being cheaper than we originally quoted for. I needed 4 light fixtures installed and two ceiling fans removed. Roman handled the job without a problem, taking him just under two hours. He was clean, professional and has a wealth of experience in electrical work. He came in with an extremely positive attitude and overall a great guy to have a conversation with.I will be using him again and he is now my emergency electrician! Yesterday, Mr. Roman Chodaba turned what had been a frustrating morning into a most pleasant afternoon. The delivery/installation employees who delivered a new electric range were unable to install the appliance, stating an electric outlet was required. Their statement was misleading because I later learned from Mr. Roman that the range could be installed using the existing conduit. An employee of the building had suggested I call Mr. Roman and provided me with his phone number. I was only in town for the day. I first spoke with him at 10:49 AM and sent photos via text message. Mr. Roman arrived at 12:39 PM. Now that is prompt service!Mr. Roman had a most pleasant personality and energy. It was a pleasure speaking with him and doing business with him. Roman is a great electrician and person. My wife and I bought a 25k btu air conditioner for our top floor apartment, but didn’t work. I checked and the outlet had 120 at each leg but 0 voltage when probed together. I told Roman and he knew exactly what had to be done. He confirmed my suspicion of the breaker being inadequate and also cleaned up some other things in the panel. He also didn’t mind me observing and asking questions. When our electricity went out during a heatwave and we were worried about a potential short circuit fire, I made so many calls to so many people who didn’t take our emergency seriously — but then we called Chodaba Electric and he arrived in record time about thirty minutes later. We were so appreciative of his kindness, especially since it was his day off. He has decades of experience under his belt and when we got to talking he showed us the huge electric panels (excuse my probably incorrect terminology) that he used to work on for large trains, so the breaker in my apartment was easy peasy competitively. The problem turned out to be faulty wiring, and even when working with a building thats very old and has criminally bad wiring, he did what seemed like magic and got everything up and running again. It’s been a really bad day, but genuinely, he took what could have been an awful situation and made it better in a snap. He’s swift, knowledgeable, kind, and I would highly recommend them.

Romans an awesome guy. I recently moved into an apartment nearby, and the management company had neglected to inform me that there were electrical issues in the apartment. The kitchen was the only room that had grounded outlets (the rest had 3 prong outlets, but were not grounded), and the ENTIRE apartment was on a single 20A breaker.I work from home, as well as running a small development server from my home, so I draw a bit more power then most, so this was an issue.I messaged Roman Chodaba and asked him how much a consultation was. He responded and told me an estimate was free, and was here the next day. I explained that I wanted to try to move at least 1 room to a separate circuit, and he proposed a solution to that.I asked about the grounding issues, he said that he couldnt get any tools out on a free consultation, as tools out meant it was now a diagnostic. I showed him the photos of ungrounded outlets, and he agreed that its likely a poorly terminated ground.I sent his estimate to my management company, and begrudgingly they resolved some of the grounding and added the circuit he suggested.I wish they had offered to pay him to resolve this, but I understand that the management company has their own electrician they want to work with. So the least I can do is say thanks as I dont think the work would have gotten done if he didnt show up.
