We compared serveral companies before picking MRM. After meeting Ray and Rick the first time we felt pretty confident this was the company we would use. Rick was our Project Manager, he made the whole process very easy. He kept us informed with times/dates and was very quick to answer our questions or get answers for us. I cannot recommend Ray and his team enough. From my very first interaction with him, I knew that this was a man that could be trusted. My neighbor drove through the front of my home, taking out a load bearing wall and displacing me and my saint bernard for 1 month. Ray and his crew got all the work done in less than a week once he was able to start...way faster than anyone else was able to do it! He knew the situation and worked so hard to get me back in my home! He gave me honest advice about the repairs, dealing with insurance, and his professional suggestions. He walked me through how to deal with everything and answered every question that I had. The most impressive thing about it all (besides the quality of work) was his constant communication. He sent updates, including pictures, almost daily. If he said he was going to be at the house, he was there. I hear horror stories about contractors making plans and never showing all the time...never with him.I would use them again without hesitation!

I had a porch that was literally falling apart. The columns and railings were rotting to the extent that the roof was starting to droop so after reading many reviews, I called MRM Construction. The project manager came out, gave me an estimate, explained how they could fix it and gave me options for the design. We came to an agreement on what I wanted done and AJ kept in contact with me the entire time. The work is now complete and my porch looks amazing!!! This company shows up on time, does what they say they are going to do, and makes sure that you are informed of any issues the entire time the work is being done on your home. I have found my contractor! Will be calling them again when I am ready to have my bathrooms and kitchen remodeled!!! Highly recommended! Thank you AJ!! You are awesome!

I had the great fortune to have AJ as my project manager. MRM was hired to do extensive work on my home including leveling the house, vapor barrier, plumbing work and extensive bathroom renovation. Multiple suprise issues were encountered during the work but the did not slow down progress. AJ knew that I had a strict budget to stick to but found products that made my projects look very high end and when I was able to add projects to our list he got me quotes and never put me off or delayed our project. AJ was very friendly to everyone in my house and by the end of the project my dog was in love with him! I recommend MRM Construction to everyone I know and specifically AJ. As I move forward with future projects this will be the company I use.

We are very pleased with MRM Construction. Ray, A.J. and Matt came and met with us to discuss our plans and review the work to be done. They were very flexible and patient while we put our plan together. Project Manage A.J. was onsite whenever another step was starting to make sure the workers knew what needed to be done. He also came afterwards and reviewed the work to make sure it was done to our satisfaction. When the work was scheduled, they came on time and they were very good at working with us to schedule the work. One important item was the accuracy of the estimate for the kitchen remodel, so there were no surprises at the end. Another important item was the care they took to minimize the construction dust and protect the floors. I would call them first for any future work I need done.

I had a fourth bedroom added to my house. It was a difficult project; my house is old and there wasnt much space to extend it out. AJ was awesome, he was fast to respond, professional, always on time and so helpful. I told him my budget and he was able to draw up plans and find solutions to every problem that came up while staying within it (and there were quite a few issues due to my weirdly built house!) I now have a wonderful extra bedroom. I will definitely be using them again soon for a bathroom and kitchen remodel.

MRM is a fantastic company. In the past year they have remodeled our master bathroom, remodeled my screened in porch to make it an enclosed 4 seasons room, and resurfaced our old and decaying porch. MRM Construction put our house completely back together after a burst pipe, and we couldnt be happier with the quality of the work. They were reliable, honest, and extremely hard working. Both Ray, the owner, and Rick, the project manager, were amazing to work with. They were there for us every step of the way. We were on a tight timeline in order to get our house ready for rental season and they finished ahead of schedule. They were always there on time and worked until every detail was just right. We highly recommend MRM Construction and we will go to them with all our construction needs in the future.

BLUF: MRM is the best construction company I have worked with in the Jacksonville area and should be the top of anyones list for their upcoming construction work.My wife and I discovered during hurricane Florence that our house had never been house wrapped and that there was a very large portion of rot on the exterior.We shopped around heavily for the work to fix and replace all of the siding, the rot, and retroactively waterproof the exterior of the house. We received a handful of quotes from various companies, and although MRM was not the cheapest quote they were by far the most responsive and professional during the initial process. We decided to go with MRM Construction because of their professional demeanor and I can not speak highly enough of the job that they have done. They performed high quality work that showed an attention to detail that is uncommon in the residential construction space.In addition to the work on the exterior we then decided to use them again for some interior work to prepare the house to be sold. They worked with us to come out multiple times in order to get quotes and were always able to meet our schedule. They truly put the customer first. MRM ensures that the services that are delivered are tailored to fit the customer needs in such a way that it provides a tremendous amount of value.We have worked with a handful of contractors in the past and none of them have been even half as good in both quality of delivery and quality of service as has MRM. If you want the job done, and done right the first time I would recommend MRM as your primary choice.

We contracted with MRM Construction to complete a master bath remodel. Having had worked with various contractors in the past we were hopeful, yet a bit apprehensive, when signing on with MRM. Our apprehensions were immediately alleviated during our first meeting with Rick Cobb, the project manager, and our initial impressions were proven to be accurate. It is a rare occurrence, and refreshing, to work with someone as meticulous, timely, and informative as Rick. I would like to acknowledge all those who did the actual work but fear I might accidently omit a deserving name. To that end, let me just say that all MRM employees were courteous, polite and employed impeccable attention to detail. I give MRM Construction my highest rating and would not hesitate to recommend their services!

We went with MRM construction to complete an addition, put in hard wood floors, ceramic tile in the laundry room and master bathroom. They set a Murphy door and French doors. Brian was in charge of the project and was absent the majority of the time, he continuously delayed and rescheduled the projects, my wife and I were constantly taking time off work to be at the house and would be told that they would not be there that day. and then Brian quit the company and project all together. The owner Ray stepped in and completed the project within a week, doing much of the work himself. Last night Ray and Al with the assistance of their flooring guys completed the projects. They stayed late but made it to where we did not have to use any more time off. MRM has earned our business with the work they did and they went above and beyond to complete our house. Rocky beginning but they finished strong and we are very happy at the end result.

This by far the best experience we have had with respect to home renovation. From the start Brian made us feel at ease and handled all aspects from the quote to coordinating our shopping trips and ensuring we were on schedule. I want to personally express my appreciation to Frank and Jimmie they were there from start to finish very professional and always keep us up to date with the daily work. I am going to miss them coming to our home however, I know in the future we will always use MRM Construction for all of our home repair needs. Thank you MRM you guys are the best!

We had quite a bit of damage from Hurricane Florence, saw this company pop up on Angie’s List/ Home Advisor and we are SOOO glad we went with them. The owner, as well as every other employee are the nicest, friendliest, most hard working & detail oriented people. If we ever need work done again we will never go to anyone else. I would recommend MRM to anyone and everyone 100x over. Brain helped make this renovation a very smooth process, and from the bottom of our hearts we thank MRM so much. Seriously the best contracting company! They made our house a home again, and even better than before!

MRM Construction was recommended to us after our beach house was destroyed by last Septembers hurricane that tore through Topsail Island. Our roof was torn off and it rained into our house for four days. The destruction of our house was nearly complete. From the day we met with the owner Ray McLeod and the Project Manager Rick Cobb, we received nothing but unparalleled professionalism and superior workmanship. Ricks attention to detail from our initial meeting and throughout this process to our final walk-through was incredible. The final result is a house that is literally better than new. Throughout the project, Rick kept us informed on the progress of the job and worked closely with us to ensure the floors, fixtures, and paint all met our desires. I honestly dont think Rick could have taken more care if it was his own home. We could not be happier with the service provided by MRM and offer our highest recommendation

I called several contractors both local and other ones that arrived out of State to assist in the recovery. I spoke with a sweet lady in the office who was honest about the timeline. She told me about the cost of the estimate and that they were working several weeks out. After interviewing several other contractors, I came right back to them. I feel that they are honest and compassionate, from the recording on their machine to the email response I received. I can wait a few weeks because, I feel that they will do great work. I also feel that they will take their time to give you what you want and not just speed through to get to the next house to make money. I also like that they maintain the same crew and not the fly by day workers.

We have an older home (built in the early 80s) that needed to have a kitchen, dining room, laundry room and bathroom remodeling that included installation of luxury vinyl planks (LVP) flooring. AJ was the project manager working with Noahs crew. They did an outstanding job with installing new subfloors which included replacing several joists. It was a lot of work. AJ and Noah did a fantastic job of installing the cabinets in the laundry room that was enlarged - by removing the closet - to create more space. They also installed the granite countertop on the base cabinet in that room. Noah and his crew installed the LVP flooring in the dining room and kitchen. We love the new floor so much that we decided to add the master bedroom LVP floor installation to our contract. Noah and his crew worked with my wifes paint color selection for reflections - having different colors on the opposing sides of the kitchen and dining room. Everything turned out great. AJ installed the kitchen backsplash using white, mosaic tiles of varying sizes/designs using silver gray grout. The tiles stood out in contrast to the granite counter-top that I could imagine my wifes kitchen being published on the front cover of a home magazine. AJ had a tile contractor install the white tiles with sea waves design on the bathtub/shower surrounding wall. A box with green and white, flower design mosaic tiles was installed on the wall for the shampoo and bath gel bottles. AJ recommended a deeper bathtub with armrest. It looks so nice that my wife enjoys soaking in the new bathtub. Noah not only installed a new vanity in the bathroom remodel. His crew sanded and re-stained the vanity cabinet in the other bathroom to make it look just as new. Noah and his crew also did a reflections paint job in the master bedroom. My wife and I feel like we are in a new house after we moved back to our home. You will never go wrong with hiring MRM Construction for your home improvement projects.

The new kitchen counter top MRM installed look amazing, and they also installed 5 new ceiling lights that look great! This firm (MRM) displayed quality and expertise over a wide range of trades and tasks in updating a built in 1966 home for the real estate for sale market. Here is what they did - tile repair, installing overhead lights, trouble shooting overhead elecrical boxes that lacked electrical power so that the electrical box became usable again, dry wall and spackling, installation of new kitchen countertops and backsplashes, kitchen plumbing seal-offs and bathroom faucet installation, the installation of electric range exhaust hood and electric range safety catch. MRM provided the right people with the right skills to do all these varied tasks perfectly with no problems or call backs whatsoever. The firm has honest, interested employees with good communication skills that can understand a homeowners point of view and deliver to the consumer a wonderful result of an greatly improved, more modern home. I will not hisitate to use them again in the Jacksonville, NC area.

As my husband and I get older, we realized that we needed a walk-in shower. AJ worked with us to find exactly the tiles and flooring we wanted! Upon removal of the old tub it was discovered that our toilet had a small leak and wasnt sealed properly. Again AJ worked with us and replaced the flooring and fixed the toilet along with installing the walk-in shower. He kept us informed every step of the way and made sure it was what we wanted and done the way we wanted. We will definitely be contacting MRM Construction with any projects that we need done in the future.

Every day they made sure to communicate what would be going on in the house even including the noise levels to make sure we were comfortable during the entire process.We are so in love with everything, it’s as if we moved into a brand new house! I was having trouble finding someone to come out and fix some structural issues on my 2 car (attached) garage. I looked through a popular repair site to advise me on getting help. Although they are 40+ miles out, all issues were repaired by a courteous/professional/patient worker (2 for most of it, but really one guy (A.J.) was a one man construction crew (and he never cussed)). He even went above and beyond and added fixing my back door to the job. Now, A.J. didnt do it all. Rick came out and assessed the job. A.J.s coworker Paul didnt waste time in the Demo. And even the big dog, Ray (owner) came by and made sure I knew exactly what I needed. (Bigger job than I had thought)Im really grateful for the amazing job they did. It was done right, fast, and within budget.No guarantee that Ray will come out to your project; but, Im sure that his team will take care of you.

We sought out MRM Construction to do repairs following Hurricane Florence. With our bathroom already gutted, we decided to include a bathroom upgrade as well. Brian, our project manager, took steps to prevent mold in our house by having his crew do light demo to get rid of any wet flooring or drywall. This was extremely important as our son as asthma, and mold was beginning to form on the surface of the subfloor under his bed.When our insurance failed to come through with the amount we needed for repairs, Brian went out of his way to meet with the next field adjustor and point out the ins and outs of what was necessary to properly repair our house. Because of him, our insurance paid for all of our repairs, minus the difference for our bathroom upgrade.Our site supervisor, Chuck, made contact and has always been kind and gracious with any issues we have had. His gentle nature has been wonderful in reducing our anxiety about repairs. When my mother-in-law passed in the middle of renovations, Chuck came and took a spare key, and he texted us during the week we were gone to check on us. I can honestly say MRM feels like family. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and happy with the process.MRM has a great crew. You get to know each personally because you see the same faces each day. I felt comfortable leaving my door unlocked for them if I needed to run errands. They are trustworthy, kind, and professional. The guys try to keep things clean as they work to limit the disruption to daily living.The best thing has been how quick MRM has been to fix anything we did not like or anything that has gone wrong. When our fan broke due to the vibrations of the roofers, MRM promptly replaced our fan without question. If they ordered something, and it didnt look right in the space, they took it back and replaced it without question. Their goal has been to make things work to the customers satisfaction. When there are issues with suppliers, Brian has gone out of his way to make it right. We had an issue with carpeting, and Brian promptly found us a solution to keep things on track, which meant going to another company. They are always trying to do right by their customers, and that means a LOT to me.My bathroom is looking fabulous! I cannot wait to see it when it is completely finished.
