    We have just had College Works paint our house and have been very pleased with the entire process. The college student representative was very courteous and knowledgeable. The crew worked with us to complete the job in time for a party we were hosting and the house looks great. They did a good job of prepping the siding prior to painting and were very efficient in completing the work.     College works painting is a company I would defiantly recommend! I have an older home build in the 60s that needed a lot of prep work and had a lot of trim. When I had an appointment for a bid we did a walk around and the intern was extremely professional and helpful with making the proper paint decisions. I have had several paint projects in the past and have learned which brands of paint last and which paint doesnt last. I was extremely happy that they only use the top products from Sherwin and Williams which is the only paint I use. My bid considering all of the prep work, trim and cost of paint was more than fair. The painters where wonderful to work with! I took a special interest in each of their life goals and studies. They were so polite and articulate. A real difference from your local painters! I was proud to help support them as I love that College Works Painting supports young students in their program and gives them the ability to both pay for school and build their resume to be leaders in their fields when they graduate. They were fast, put up with change orders, didnt leave a mess behind them, and my house is now beautiful. I would highly recommend them.

    College Works did a great job with the painting of our house this spring. During the estimate, Zach Schmitz, the intern, was helpful in explaining the process. We did expect the work to start earlier than it actually started, but once the process got under way, we were happy with the experience. Zach was responsive and made choosing a new color easy. The crew doing the actually painting was professional and did a nice job. Overall, we are satisfied with the work that was done.

    It is a pleasure to write this recommendation on behalf of College Works and our project manager, Zachary Musgrove. Our 20+ year old house had original paint, and was in dire need of restoration. We were impressed by Zach’s sales presentation and the opportunity to support a young entrepreneur who has hands-on knowledge of the painting business. The project entailed exterior paint for 2700 sq. ft. home, including stucco, fascia, eaves, trim and wood deck. The job included power wash of all areas, scraping, patching, sanding, priming, and repair work as needed. Zach managed a team of workers that arrived each day as promised and were skilled to perform their jobs. We were kept informed on daily progress and expectations for the following day. Zach took pride in making sure the job would be performed to our liking and consistently put his personal effort into the tasks to ensure that it was completed in a timely manner with attention to detail, quality, and customer satisfaction. There were several added repairs required during the job, which were handled professionally and agreed to by us to get the job done right. We were impressed with the maturity and can-do attitude of Zach, as a representative of College Works, as well as his personal integrity and skills to perform the job.     I recently had the exterior of my home painted by College Works Painting. I am very impressed with the professional job the painters did and with their District Manager, Uriah. He and his painters performed to my expectations. Uriah did a thorough assessment of my home and gave me an estimate of costs that were reasonable and within the price range I had anticipated to pay. The bid was given the day I received the estimate and the costs associated with the job were outlined in a format that was easy to understand. The cost that was quoted to me in the bid, was exactly what I payed after the service was provided to my satisfaction. He brought samples of paint to my home, helped me pick the best match and returned with sample paint to try on the house. He used Sherwin Williams Super paint. After the paint selection was made, he pressured washed my entire house with a bio-degradable solution, and sanded some blistered areas. He returned with his crew to paint. They applied two coats to the exterior plus the trim, re-painted garage door and side door, and protected my decks and plants close to the house with drop sheets. They cleaned up completely each night and at the end of the job as the contract outlined. They did a exceptional job painting and conducted this transaction in a professional, business manner. I would highly recommend Uriah and College Works Painting.

    My experience with College Works Painting has been excellent. Summer was very professional and followed up with me daily while the work was being done. We had a special circumstance where our paint peeled off our house because we sprayed fire retardant on it for a wildfire. Summer consulted with a professional painter and even contacted the fire department to make sure the prep and paint was done correctly. She was very detail oriented when she did her walk through every day. Her staff was reliable , friendly, hard working and took pride in their work.     We had College Works Paining paint the exterior of our home. Our intern who we dealt with, Summer Stone, was amazing. Summer was very proactive and was very patient with us while we selected colors and made other decisions. The two painters who did the work, Jose and Pierre, were very friendly and had great attention to detail. The few touch ups that were needed were fixed before our last walk through was done. We would definitely use this companies services in the future if all of their crews/interns were as great as the ones that completed our job.

    We had the entire exterior of our house painted by College Works and strongly recommend Rachel Rudolph and her crew. They worked very hard, kept on schedule, and were really respectful of our home. They cleaned up each day and made sure even small things like playing music was okay with us before they did it. We did a daily walk around of the house and Rachel made sure we were completely satisfied with every inch of the house.I work from home so I was able to witness a lot of the work that they did and was really impressed at the level of detail and the sheer amount of work that was put in on our project. They worked around crazy weather, equipment issues, and just very long days (one of which started at 7am and ended at 9pm).All the neighbors have remarked that the house looks great and we feel like its a new place now. We wouldnt hesitate to use College Works again in the future.

    We hired Jared Allan and his team to paint the entire trim of our house in the summer of 2015. Jared and his crew did an excellent job from start to finish. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of his work, his strong work ethic and his ability to effectively communicate the various aspects of the project and its timeline throughout its entirety.Jared went beyond his specific duties with College Works, which I greatly appreciated. In order to do the full scope of work on our house which was needed, I needed to find a carpenter to replace some rotten wood around a number of windows. While I had several folks come out to give quotes to paint the house, when I asked about the carpenter to repair wood, only Jared was able to deliver on that. He put me in contact with a carpenter who was able to get the job done in a timely fashion so that I could begin getting my house painted.Jared delivered on the project that he was hired to do. I really appreciated how thorough he was in his communications. I found it to be well above average and a true sign of a committed professional.

    My experience with College Works house painting exceeded my expectations in terms of quality of performance and service. The intern who my household worked with, Nicole Chang, served as the prime facilitator during the painting the property, which included a house and front gate. She was both professional and courteous throughout the job and I am very satisfied with the results.Particularly, her work ethic stood out. Her willingness to help even when we were unable to pick out the house colors until the last minute displayed an ability to perform under pressure. Additionally, she ensured that the work schedule was flexible around a time table suitable to the household, while managing to complete the painting in a timely manner of about 2 days.Overall, I was impressed with Nicoles coordination, communication and performance.     We worked with Summer Stone and overall had a great experience. She was always professional, on time, friendly, trustworthy, and we felt like she listened to our concerns and had our best interest in mind.     My husband and I are very pleased with the job done by Richard at our house on Cornell Drive in June 2015, built in 1962. The last time the house was painted was 15 years ago, and was still in fairly good shape except for one wall at the front of the house, which was faded and had cracks at the bottom as a result of watering the roses right in front of the wall. Our house color was a custom blue/gray color, for which we no longer had the formula, but did have a leftover bucket with 15 year old paint in it. It would have seemed easy for the paint mixer to get the right color, but after a few rejects by us regarding the color, Richard persisted and pleased us greatly with success at this task. He advocated for his customer.The wall looks great, matches almost perfectly, and also did as well with matching the white trim and garage door. He and his assistant were extremely careful with prepping the areas Not to be painted, including our very valued tree roses that are very close to the house.His communication was clear, succinct, accurate, and very professional. He kept us well informed of his plans, and responded well to our concerns while matching the house paint and anything else that had to do with the job in general.His preparation of the wall, with patching the cracks, and cleaning the wall and garage door was amazingly thorough. He and an assistant were intensely focused and detail oriented in their commitment to the job on the day it was done, and checked with us to be sure we were pleased with the results.I would highly recommend him as a future businessman to do what he says he will do. He not only handled the paperwork seamlessly, but the actual painting job as well. He was also a thoughtful boss while working with the other gentleman on the day of the painting.I am a retired nurse and focus on team work, and respectful communication.     On behalf of CCS: Ive just had my house and garage painted this week by Shane French and his crew: Liam, Bryan and Josh. These hardworking, professional young men did an outstanding job. With many weather challenges- RAIN, HEAT WAVES, etc. , they managed to stay on schedule and deliver everything that was promised. Being well supervised by Shane showed in their work and all around pleasant, friendly attitude. He knows how to keep a crew happy by NOT asking them to do anything he wouldnt do (and does) himself. His management skills and enthusiasm are excellent. He HELPED me with SO many design choices and they ALL made the finished product look awesome. My house looks like a little jewel, and I couldnt be more pleased!. Also, the clean-up everyday and when all was finished was exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend COLLEGE WORKS to family & friends...but only if EVERY CREW is as good as this one and their supervisor Shane French. It was truly a pleasure to have them working on my home.

    I don’t understand all the negative reviews, we had a really good experience with these guys. My fiance and I recently moved into a fixer upper and needed quite a bit of painting done. After calling around, College Works was the best quote I received and decided to go with them. They were very good about following up with me leading up to the job and always friendly over the phone.The project supervisor was really nice and easy to get ahold of when I had any questions. The staff was super courteous and did a really good job of masking off all the windows and doors as well as cleaning up after they were finished. The paint jobs looks great and they warranty makes me feel confident that if anything happens they will take care of it. Don’t let the lower price fool you, these guys do quality work and I will definitely hire them again as we continue to renovate this house.

    We worked with Mitchel Wanta in the Milwaukee, WI area and were very pleased with his professionalism throughout the process. He walked us through what we could expect, and he and his team did not disappoint.     Last week we had David Garvida in Lacey, WA bring in his College Works Painting crew to paint our two-story home. WOW! He and his crew were the consummate professionals from start to finish.     We needed the trim on our large two-story house painted. Breezy Meyer and her crew worked diligently on this project until it was done. They asked for feedback regularly with daily inspections of the progress, which made us feel good. They were responsive to feedback and carried through on the inevitable glitches, such as missing bits. They did a good job cleaning up so everything was left spick and span. There were some challenging bits to paint high up on the roof but Breezy demonstrated leadership by being the one to climb up high. She also kept herself safe with ropes and a harness, which was impressive. The job that Bryce did on the brick patio with the high-pressure spray was magnificent. Josh and Daniel were great to. My only criticism was their not knowing how to handle mildew but they will learn with experience. It was our pleasure to help these young enthusiastic college students make some money and learn how to be competent.

    We met Oliver after the original sales intern dropped out. Oliver assumed the responsibilities of the job and came up big. Though not as experienced as some of these guys, Oliver proved the right man for the job. He was friendly, courteous and willing to work with us even providing some extra attention to our complete exterior project. He was extremely hard working and showed up earlier than we had planned and spent about a week to get it right. It was a difficult job as our home is very old and had not been painted in quite some time. When he was off property drumming up more business his guys took care of the prepping and painting chores. Oliver is a dedicated, hard worker willing to do what ever he has to do to get it done. We were very pleased. And the house looks fantastic. Bravo Oliver.

    I would like to recommend College Works Painting for your all home painting needs. I was very happy to work with Ryan York and his team. Ryan has excellent communication skills, is organized, can work independently and is able to follow through to ensure that the job gets done.During the duration of the job, Ryan was responsible for supervising his assistants. These assistants, under Ryan’s management, were responsible for many of the basic cleaning, prepping and painting functions. Ryan effectively scheduled and managed several assistants to maintain efficient job operations.Ryan was always willing to offer his assistance to his team and went above and beyond to make sure the job was completed on the accorded date. Ryan was very considerate of our time and work through a holiday weekend to ensure we were satisfied with the job and that it met our expectations. From initial contact through all decisions on my house-painting job, Joe Leonard was professional, concerned with detail, and concerned with my satisfaction. His crew worked carefully and hard. Joe has also gone the extra mile in taking care of details outside the actual job -- e.g., removing and hauling away a pair of broken decorative shutters -- and he plans to come back after some carpentry work is done to paint the new boards.     A Recent Experience,Anytime you hire a contractor there are always worries, will they show up as promised, will they do the job they said they would, will they leave a mess and the big one, and will they finish the job? All worries that everyone has hiring work out!Christine and her crew from College Works Painting did just that! We were kept informed as to when they planned to start the job, approx. how long it would take and then showed up as planned, finished sooner than expected and did a great job! We only had our exterior trim done as it had faded badly and was showing bare wood, but it looks better than new and using the quality paint they did, expect it to outlast the original paint job from when the house was built.So, would we recommend them? YES, without question!

    Ryan and his crew from College Works recently completed a much needed paint job on my house. Every interaction with him and his team was exactly as advertised. Our initial meeting was in the spring, well in advance of the work being completed in the summer, and throughout the process, Ryan was great about keeping in touch, making sure I understood the schedule and going through the planning phase. He even arranged for a carpenter to replace some rotting wood I had been neglecting.When it came time to complete the job, the team had to contend with some sporadic, if unseasonable, rain. But they started on time, worked around it and completed the work faster than I would have expected. All in all, it was good experience and one I would recommend.

    The team of Tyler Miele, Dondi Kirby and Zachary Mrazik have just completed the contracted job of painting our garage doors and basement door. We are very pleased!     Oscar Guerra and his team of painters from College Works Painting have performed their job excellently. Mr. Guerra stopped by our home in April of 2013 and gave my husband and I an estimate for having our house painted.On June 13, 2013, Mr. Guerra’s crew of two gentlemen began painting our 1500 square foot house. The work was finished by 12:30 pm on June 14, 2013. The job was completed quickly and well.I am very pleased with the quality of the work and with the price charged for such work.     After reading several negative reviews I had my reservations about hiring College Works Painting, but I needed to use them because of the price. As everyone has already stated the representative was very nice, helpful and insightful. The crew showed up on time and got to painting the home without a hitch. There was one wall I was worried about, but it ended up being shadows from the early evening low sunlight. All in all I was impressed enough with the work that I will use them again on future projects.

    Just had the exterior of our house painted by College Works Painting and would definitely recommend them! I was slightly skeptical at first until I learned more about the process. CWP uses skilled painters and the college students get to perfect their business skills. Our college student representative, Ryan Crawford, was very courteous and knowledgeable about the job. He stayed in contact with me during the entire process and made certain I was fully satisfied with the final result.     September 15, 2013I’m writing this reference letter because it’s important potential customers know about the experience we had working with Ryan and his crew. First off, they showed up at their start time each day allowing us to plan properly around our dogs. They also told us what they were going to complete that day and then they followed through. In the evening, Ryan did a daily walk around to ensure his team was meeting our expectations. He reiterated what they’d done and what was planned for the following day. This reassured my wife and I and cleared up any questions we had. They were also very clean and placed drop cloths over and around everything, which we appreciated.     I recently had the exterior of my home painted by Ryan York and his crew from College works. They did a great job from color selections to the finished product and my wife and I are very pleased with the results. The crew was very diligent to protect our flowers and plants and very careful to control any drips are splatters. I have had several neighbors stop by and compliment me on the new paint.

    I just had my house painted by College Works under the management of Titus Berndt. I have to say that from the moment that I signed the contract he was busy making sure that the paint color was exactly what I wanted, including testing a sample on the side of the house for my inspection just to make sure. He also was out every day supervising the painting crew and if I found any errors in the work I would call him and often he would come right over. He was responsive and made sure that if there were certain things that I wanted done or retouched, he would just do it. I would use him again and if every project manager is as effective and has the communication skills that Titus has then you cant go wrong selecting College Works Painting.

    When we first met Teressa she presented to us a reasonable and fair sales offer and sold us on the complete paint process and her personal promise that the job would exceed our expectations; and she delivered. Each morning Teressa was on sight and conferred with us to explain what would be accomplished that day. In the evening she ensured that work was done to our satisfaction and generated job orders to correct any oversight done by her paint team.Unpredictable weather brought rain to San Diego in July and interrupted our time schedule. Teressa, with an always worry-free and positive attitude, simply adjusted planned work schedules and added extra workers to the task as she understood the importance of meeting this deadline. In this case the deadline was to complete the paint job and clean up a few days before my first grandchild’s first birthday party at my home. Teressa persisted with our expected timelines, picked up the paint brush and roller when needed and lead the charge to get the job completed on time and to our full satisfaction.     We hired Ryan Crawford and College Works to paint the eaves, trim and fascia of our home. We are pleased with the outcome of painting, but the experience was a little challenging. Ryan should be careful to hire painters that will represent him in a professional manner. Although the painting job was completed well, one of the painters was rude and unprofessional. Ryan accepted my feedback with a great attitude; suprising for such a young man. He stressed throughout the job that his goal was to make sure we were 100% satisfied at the end and he accomplished that. I would suggest to Ryan that he take a little more time to organize his jobs and his thoughts before communicating with clients. Something he will likely learn and improve with time and experience.

    We had our eves and upper trim painted using College Works. Very impressed with Cleto Isquirre who was in charge and did the work on our home. Cleto called set up a date to go over all details prior to paint to confirm totals and our understanding of what was going to be done. He confirmed paint day a few days prior and was here to start job as planned. He was in touch with me the entire job making prior arrangement to do a walk through after. The job was completed on time, very neat job from prep work to finished job. I was so impressed with Cleto and College Works that I will be contacting them for my mothers home.     I too live in the Austin Area, however could not find a board specific to this company in my area to write this review.Chris Davis knocked on my door one afternoon offering free estimates for painting the exterior of our house. truth is our house is in desperate need of a paint job and we did have plans to repaint in August-Sept. I took Chris up on the offer and he was more than willing to accommodate my tight schedule for him to return to perform the estimate (I was getting ready to leave town).Chris showed up the day he was scheduled. He was late, but was diligent with his communication about his arrival time, so I was not unhappy. He spent about 15 minutes reviewing the College Works program and company with me and then did his estimate (apx 30 min).PROS: All in all I was very pleased with the price. It was at the bottom end of what I would have expected it to cost. I was also very pleased with Chris professionalism and communication.CONS: As with most companies that go door-to-door, they want money up front. I was asked to pay a deposit (30%, which I was later told could be reduced to 10%) to get on Chris summer schedule. While I was pleased with the price, I know nothing about College Works and will not hire a company for work like this without doing my due diligence and getting other estimates and trying to research the company I am going to hire beforehand. I told Chris I would like to get other estimates before doing anything and he was very happy to let me do so.In the end I did not hire College Works to do the painting so I cannot speak for the quality of their work. It is not in my budget to have my house painted until August/September and I am not willing to part with the cash for the deposit until then. If I can get it done sooner, I will get my other estimates and if I feel College Works is the right company I will see if they have any availability left before Chris summer is over.I will give Chris an A+ for his customer service.

    We hired College Works to paint our front stairs in Reading, MA. The stairs were in really bad shape. Ryan our painter sanded, repaired and repainted the steps and railings and they look brand new. He went way beyond what I would consider a basic paintjob. There were no issues and he kept a clean job site (which was my concern). I would definitely recommend them.

    I have been impressed by the professionalism of Titus Berndt, the representative who arranged and oversaw the exterior painting of my large, complex house. In the months prior to painting, Titus stopped by my home a few times to discuss color schemes, expectations and paint selection. A few weeks prior to the job he tested several different paint samples until I was satisfied.Titus and his crew had their work cut out for them as my house was by no means a routine job. It is 3 stories with a very complicated roof line, including 3 large roofs on the front, center and rear of the house, and a few smaller roofs extending as oversize eves over windows. Each of these added complexity and trim. The job was made further complicated by the color scheme which involved 2 contrasting shades of gray on the walls and pale trim covering very many intersecting sections that in some areas nearly approached a checkerboard fashion. This required that adjacent sections be masked and painted in a planned sequence. To top it off, these colors were applied on 4 distinct types of wood siding!The actual painting began on July 5th, 2016 and got off to a slow start. Titus was called out of town on short notice and had to enlist help from a highly experienced College Works veteran, Giovanna. There was notable worker turn-over during the first week, and some of the young people had limited experience, though the crew became consistent toward the end, with Adrian and Anton completing most of the work. The finished product looks great and is just what Titus and I had discussed, though with rain delays and a learning curve the job extended several days longer than had been projected. As described above, the house is a very “big bite” to chew.My next door neighbor, who’s house is of similar construction to mine, followed the progress and was impressed enough that he hired Titus and crew to paint his house. When the crew returned in August for the neighbor’s house they had clearly advanced their skills and completed that job faster and with the with the same great result!

    The intern that was overlooking my project, Kelly Ozenne, went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with all aspects of the work. I am disabled and unable to drive myself around so one of the days Kelly took me to Sherwin Williams in her own car so we could look at all the color options in person because I had no idea what direction with color I wanted to go. It took a good while until we decided on a color that I was truly excited about, but Kelly was patient and I could tell she genuinely cared about me. Kelly would also show me the progress that they were making every day to ensure that I was happy every step of the way. His character, sincerity,work ethic, and professionalism are a credit to himself, and to College Works. Simply put, everything Jordan promised was done – and more. He and his crew were a joy to work with, from start to finish.Weve received nonstop compliments from our neighbors about the incredible paint job provided by Jordan and College works, and I expect he will gain future business here because of his outstanding work. The price agreed upon was the price we paid, and the work was completed in just a week, despite some rain, which might have delayed any painting contractor. To make up for the rain, Mr. Young and his crew put in ten to twelve hours or more most days, working tirelessly and meticulously. His walk-throughs at the end of each day ensured that we were happy every step of the way. On several occasions, he caught very minor details that we would have overlooked without his expert eye for and attention to detail. Jordan is a fine young man, who represents his company in the absolutely best possible light.An example of Mr. Youngs total professionalism occurred on the last day of painting.While our neighbor had parked his car away from our house, near the end of his driveway, a sudden gust of wind (on an otherwise calm early morning) blew some paint on his car. Jordan and one of his crew members immediately worked to remove all of the paint from the vehicle, but a few traces remained. Jordan then arranged for a friend of his, who owns an automobile detailing company, to completely detail the exterior of my neighbors vehicle. The car now looks fantastic, better than before. This type of commitment to total customer satisfaction is rare, and we greatly appreciate Mr. Youngs conscientiousness.     Let me start off by saying that painting the exterior of our house was quite the undertaking. Our home was built in 1978 - lots of peeling, old wood shingles. My husband and I were optimistic that College Works would do a good job, but still a little nervous just because of the condition of the house. Garin Flohr oversaw the job, and put our worries to rest. He and his crew showed up promptly at 7 AM each day, and did a stellar job. The representative Ty Brocksieker was very pleasant, professional and helpful in choosing our colors and what was needed to make our house more beautiful.     Elijah Devyldere and his two crew members did a fine job preparing and sealing our deck railings, painting the large deck supports and painting the fascia and eave areas. They had to deal with extreme temperatures, our steel roof, uneven ground for ladders, and many yellow jacket nests. We hadnt seen yellow jackets this year and were unaware of the nests under the eaves and in the seams of the metal roof.     Richard Jo saved the day and the assignment! A few schedule conflicts came up and we were able to work through these and keep to the original schedule! From what I can tell Richard was able to work with College Works scheduling and get my job back on the right track! Without his involvement and dedication to preserve customer satisfaction, the whole experience would have been pretty negative...but he saved the day, as I indicated above. He and Albert worked till darkness, on several days, to push ahead and be sure that a quality job would be the result, and meet a deadline. This team I would recommend to anyone!     I dont know if its just me but there are a few things that make me nervous as a homeowner- maintenance being number one on the list. In the past, when I was younger and more naïve, I entrusted all my maintenance work to a contractor who assured me that he would take care of my house as if it were his own. Apparently, our views on service, schedules and expectations differed significantly! For a year or two the house that I bought and cherished was the worst looking one on the street. At this point, when it comes to any sort of home improvement, Im sure you might understand my apprehension. After a considerable amount of research, I discovered College Works painting. To tell the honest truth, I was initially skeptical, but the complimentary quote and the fact that it was a legitimate business (unlike the contractor who turned out to have a bogus license) won me over. From the moment I requested a quote (which was free by the way) to the first meeting with the one of the student managers I was blown away by their professionalism, dedication, work ethic and expertise. Fellow homeowners, it doesnt get better than this! College Works Painting was single handedly one of the best decisions I made for my house and myself. There are very few times that my expectations have been exceeded and College Works Painting has managed to do this every single time for the past 5 years. Furthermore, with taxes and the state of the economy, I always cringe when it comes to any sort of home maintenance but with College Works Painting I am very comfortable in the fact that I am getting excellent service at a mere fraction of the cost! There is no way whatsoever that I would consider any other service for a paint job. I have recommended their services to a few friends and neighbors and every single one of them are always as ecstatic as I am.     Received a fair price for our all wood 1950s home in NJ. Gave deposit, and sadly needed to cancel do to extreme wood issues. I just couldnt afford both, paint and wood repair. I canceled with-in two days of signing contract.+++Caution+++READ the fine print. you need to send certified letter or return receipt and it has to be post marked before midnight of the 3rd day. so its really 2 day cancellation of contract. If the repairs wouldnt have been so costly, I would have given the college student the job:)

    I am writing this letter in commendation of Christian Brinser, and the work he did for me through College Works House Painting. About a month ago, Christian presented himself and gave a thorough and thoughtful presentation of the house painting services he provided. He promised I would be satisfied with the finished product, and I very much am. Christian was in frequent contact with me during the entire process, addressing each of my concerns as they arose. Going further, Christian addressed belated concerns that I had- concerns that arose even after the job had been finished. He relayed that his utmost concern was my happiness with the final outcome, and that he wouldn’t be satisfied until I was. He brought the painters back out to my house a week later to address my concerns. He even went so far as to grab some paint and a brush and climb the ladders himself in order to get the project to where it needed to be.     Byron Rastegari wrote up cost and contract, hired painters, consulted with us regarding paint colors, purchased paint and supplies, supervised the work with daily walk-throughs, assisted painters where necessary.• Work was done well, definitely to our satisfaction.Our initial contact with Byron was a good one. I think he seemed to listen well to our concerns and needs. When he wrote the contract up, he explained everything carefully and answered our questions. There was one cost increase (see comment in section re 94 year old house) but it was an extra service to hopefully increase the length of time the paint job holds up and it was presented as an option...no pressure. Otherwise, he stuck with the contracted price, made sure we were completely happy with the results, and never once even hinted that the project was more burdensome than he expected, though it may well have been.•• Byron selected an excellent painting team and developed a good working relationship with them.•• Byron struck a good balance between being in charge and deferring to their expertise. He rolled well with the punches.•• There were a few delays, something that is likely common with large projects that can be unpredictable in length.•• Communication was a bit of a challenge at first, but improved dramatically once we got started. We enjoyed working both with Byron and with the painters, headed up by Marco.We have a 94 year old house with wood siding. We appreciated their care in prep work which is so critical with this kind of house. They did add $800 onto the cost (included in the cost of service above) to add substantial spackling where there was the most chipping and peeling from harsh sun exposure. We were not pressured to add the cost, but appreciated the option.We were particularly impressed with the way Byron, a college student, handled the project. Even though he was clearly in charge, he was a good learner, both from the painter and from us (ref communication). We saw some poor reviews of the company (not Byron) after we already signed the contract and paid the deposit, so we were dubious at first, but our confidence in him increased dramatically as the project progressed.I understand from reviews that the College Works company has very mixed results. We were relieved, and quite pleased, to have a good experience. Byron, directly and indirectly, was fully responsible for our positive experience.

    Cleto Isaguirre was our project manager, and he ran the process from initially cold-calling us to finalizing the transaction. He was very responsive, and when we wanted to move our date forward he was able to accommodate us. He oversaw the crew, who were very competent and professional, and when we wanted to add additional services was able to do so very economically. I wholeheartedly recommend Cleto and his team for painting projects around the house. I think Cleto will have a fine career in whatever he sets his mind to do.

    CollegeWorks recently completed a home painting project at our house. Summer, the project manager, was very effective in all phases of the project. She clearly communicated to us before, during, and after the project. Summer was available at all hours to work with us and make the project run smoothly.     I just wanted to say that I had a really good experience with this company. I was in the market to get a few necessary things done around the house. I was online searching and going through the whole process of narrowing down possible candidates to pursue. So I gave CWP a call and the owner was super helpful. I explained what needed to be done and after the estimate, I made my choice to go with them and Im really glad I did. They came out and did a full pressure wash on the house, and then when I went with a full exterior paint. They did an great job and guaranteed their work, and after a few years if I decide to use them again I get a price freeze with their service which i found very unique. Great service.

    Cleto Isaguirre, the intern managing the painting of our large, 45-year-old, two-story house that hadn’t seen a fresh coat of paint in years—probably well before we moved in a decade ago—did an outstanding job! The house was power washed, scraped, sanded, primed, patched, and painted to our satisfaction. Even my husband who used to be a painter years ago was impressed with his work. Cleto worked more than 12 hours each day on the job, always conducted end-of-the-day walk-arounds to make sure we were completely satisfied with the quality of work, and cleaned up impeccably each evening. We were impressed to discover Cleto’s career goals of medical school and to find out that he seems well on his way toward accomplishing those goals. He always conducted himself with professionalism and demonstrated excellent communication skills and an aptitude for business. It was a pleasure to do business with him and College Works Painting.

    I first met Michael Chowansky in the late winter of 2013 as he was canvassing my neighborhood for customers for the College Works painting business. I found him to be professional and polite. He was persistent but not pushy in following up with me throughout the spring and finalizing the painting contract in April 2013. Michael and his crew started our job in June which involved painting some outside trim and our deck. He faced some obstacles with the deck as the weather was not cooperating with frequent rains which prevent him from finishing the job in the time frame in which he had intended.Michael persevered through this challenge and completed the deck to my satisfaction, returning to inspect and do the minor touch-ups that were needed.     Titus Berndt recently managed the painting of our 2800 square foot 1950s home. He prepared the estimate with his manager, was available for design consultation, and oversaw the work of four painters, two of whom were relatively inexperienced. Titus was respectful, friendly, courteous, patient, attentive to detail, and quite responsive throughout. He worked hard to complete the project within the time frame he had planned. He was knowledgeable about paint products, the preparation of surfaces, and about lead management issues.From the initial estimate discussion which was presented to us by Titus manager, we felt poorly informed about areas which they did not intend to paint (gutters, garage door, all exposed concrete foundation surfaces).     Unlike some unfavorable reviews here, I was pretty happy to recommend CWP to my friends who live in San Diego. Theirs is a 1960’s era duplex that needed some minor restoration by way of repainting the roof and the outer back walls. It’s been almost a year since and I have not heard any complaints. Alexis and her team even took the time to remove some fixtures on the house (ie the house numbers) during the prep work to ensure a quality finish. And I appreciated that every night, the team would take the time to put away their equipment and kept a tidy work area. They really did an incredible job with the house – I have such a great feeling whenever I pull into the driveway and see the beautiful colors of my home.

    Abby SuttonLocal Branch Manager- College Works PaintingCollege Works Painting recently finished painting the exterior of our house. The painting team, lead by Abby Sutton, worked diligently to provide a nice end product in a timely manner.Our job request was complicated in that we only wanted portions of the exterior painted and the work required a lot of decorative detail with multiple colors. Abby was open to the piecemeal approach from the onset and she took the time to complete a detailed cost estimate. She patiently jotted down all of our requests during an initial walk through and listed individual line items for each area. She also calculated four different quotes based on our requests. We really appreciated her willingness to provide multiple options because we were not sure of our initial scope or budget. She was also very kind and personable during the process. We never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision.Abby completed the work with her crew as scheduled. They worked long hours to prep the painting surface, assemble the proper equipment, apply the paint, disassemble, and clean. They were also adaptable to weather conditions. At the the end of each day, she reviewed the results with a walk through. After they completed the job, they cleaned everything as if they were never there.Abby and her crew were considerate of our personal schedules. At the time of completion, my husband was out of town on a business trip. Abby allowed us to wait for a final payment until he returned and performed a walk through. Even though it was only a few days, we greatly appreciated her willingness to adapt her work schedule.The end results were nice! The front exterior of our house has a lot of features that required precise work, such as balusters, spindles, and pillars on the front porch and multiple layers of decorative trim work around the front door. Abby and her team did a good job with all of the details. The porch and front door now look like a nice entryway into the house.We did have a couple minor complications, all of which Abby addressed. We decided to only perform patch work on the back and side exterior walls and,unfortunately, we could not get an exact color match. But, her team worked by trial and error to provide the best color match possible. The results were adequate and are only slightly noticeable when looking directly at the patched area. There was also a bit of confusion with the windows specified in the cost estimate. Our cost estimate was complicated, so we were not entirely surprised with the misunderstanding. Abby discussed the issues openly and honestly until we came to an agreement.College Works painting did a nice job with a complicated and detailed project. Abbey Sutton was very reasonable to work with and made sure the job was done properly and on time.     I am pleased to write this review as we had a very good experience working with Kyle Proctor from Collegeworks and his painting team. This was our first time having a house painted and we are very happy with the end result. Our house looks wonderful, and we have had a lot of positive comments on it. Kyle Proctor was professional and friendly from our first meeting and through out the whole project. He was very easy to get a hold off and as a part of our contract he promised to come out on a daily basis to walk around the property with us and make sure things were progressing smoothly and we were happy. I really liked this sort of service, it took the stress out of it for us. I trusted Kyle and his crew. Kyle and the head painter Howard Cotham, were in regular contact with each other, so each knew what was expected and needed to be done that day. Howard Cotham is an excellent painter, he patched holes and cracks in our house, so you cant even see where they were. Howard and his two assistants were polite and hard workers. They cleaned up after themselves each day when they left the project. The project was 2 days longer than we expected but that was largely due to the extreme heat that the painters had to endure that week. We did not mind as we wanted the project done properly and not rushed.

    We had College Works paint our house this past week and we are very happy with the results. Cleto adopted our job from another College Works painter that had to leave the company. He was very responsible about returning phone calls and keeping us updated on the status of our job. Cleto didnt just manage our job; he did a lot of the painting, too! Honestly, he worked so hard and long each day that I was exhausted just from watching him work. And, yet, at the end of each day, he still took time to walk around and review the job with us.     We saw Cleto and his crew painting the house across the street from us. When we asked our neighbor how he liked the work Cleto did, he responded that he was very happy with the work. So, we decided to ask Cleto over for a quote. Cleto was very professional and thorough with his assessment, and even indicated that it was cheaper for us to paint the whole exterior rather than just the woodwork which desperately needed it. With that, we agreed to the job.Cleto and his crew did a great job fixing all of the wood and stucco damage. You can hardly tell there were patches of stucco that had cracked and fallen off as well as bad wood rot. Additionally, he was very careful with his prep work as we had just redone our back patio with pavers. By the end of the actual job, the house, side wall and retaining wall out front looked great.Cleto was very thorough with his walk through both before the job and after it was finished. We also appreciated that he took the time to do a good job despite it was one of the hottest weeks all summer!Wed recommend him to others (for those that can wait until next summer when hes not in college!).

Melissa displayed professionalism, tenacity in getting tasks done, attention to detail and tremendous follow through. She kept me in formed every step of the way by calling me to tell me the status on when they would start, planning meetings to discuss colors and a walkthrough of the outside of the house before painting to explain what they would be doing.She and her crew started the job a few days ahead of schedule and they kept to the exact schedule that they communicated to me - finishing on time. We did a daily walk around of the house and when I pointed out areas that needed to be touched up, she had her crew fix the issues immediately. I also noticed that she is extremely conscientious about the safety of her crew.The crew that worked with her was very friendly and respectful even while working in the extreme heat of the San Fernando Valley in late June afternoons.
