    Our old house required a lot of work. Alex Smith and his apprentice, Ethan, over 2 1/2 days, did a fabulous job with minimum disruption to our household. Cathy, in Customer Service, was the best I have encountered also, keeping us updated when we called on a Friday, and working us in early in the week. We really felt like we were the only customer Mr. Electric had that week! We really appreciated the texts advising that Alex was on his way (complete with picture! Great service, great expertise! Cant say enough!

    Had an emergency breaker box issue and I knew who to call right away Mr. Electric. I was promptly assisted and a crew was at my house to fix my issue. I had a wonderful experience as the guys they sent out displayed amazing communication diagnosing my issue and immediately getting to work. Both gentlemen who came out were extremely professional ensuring i was educated with what was going to be done. They were clean, ensuring their workplace was clean after repair and super friendly. Can’t recommend enough!

    Jeremy came to our home on a Sunday morning for an emergency refrigerator call. . He was so nice and very knowledgeable. It didn’t take him long to figure out the problem. We had also just bought a new ceiling fan and I asked Jeremy to put it up for me while he was already at our home. He agreed to do it without hesitation. I told him that we will continue to use Mr. Electric as long as we can get him every time. He is a super nice guy and definitely an asset to your company. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs electrical work done.

    Jeremy, Sammy, and Alex were all awesome. From their initial assessment of our issues to their all the work to remediate all of our issues. They were very detailed, professional, and punctual.     Called Mr. Electric to do an overall safety inspection and to fix issues we had around the house. Jeremy, Matt , and Sam were great! They performed a thorough job, were very professional, explained to us the problems we were facing with our older homes electrical system and the steps to fix the issues. They swiftly helped us to get our house to code in just two days by installing smoke detectors, fixing our breaker box, installed a new ceiling fan, and even created a fan for our bathroom.     I needed to hire an Professional Electrician, but I never use one before. I researched online and decided to call Mr. Electric of Columbia. Needless to say, I was a little nervous and appreciative. Once Tucker Norton of Mr. Electric arrived and went through and did all his safety checks and thoroughly explained everything to me I felt more at ease. There was no pressure sales tactic, just a Professional explanation on proper safety on my home. We made an appointment the next day to have all the work done. Tucker was extremely Professional and completed his work up to code with SC&G and the Safety Inspectors. He was friendly and courtesy and mostly Respectful of myself and my Home. I would highly recommend this company and Tucker Norton in the future.

    I am selling my house and a pendant light in the closet was not working. I contacted Mr. Electric and they got me scheduled right away. Alex Smith was the technician that came out and assess the problem with the light. He also did a safety check throughout the house to make sure things were fine for selling the house. He found some other areas that should be updated. I had him update everything that needed to be done to sell the house. He was prompt efficient, very professional and I would definitely hire Mr. Electric or recommend them to anyone that needs an electrician.

Less than 30 min after that, John (the electrician) was at our house addressing our needs.     I hired them to install new outdoor lights at the front door and garage. Joshua was very professional. He did a complete safety inspection and noted things that I should consider updating in the future (the house is nearly 40 years old) but didnt pressure me to agree to do immediately. He then efficiently replaced the outdoor lights. Costs were very reasonable. I will definitely consider using them again as I know I plan to replace several fixtures inside the house in the near future.

    Really excellent experience. John and Tucker were the best. Super professional, kind, knowledgeable. They installed a patio fan and laid new wire for it. The job required them to go through interior drywall and upgrade the wall switch - they made the smallest possible holes and even went out of their way to patch them for me even though that’s not their job. Fan looks great and I couldn’t be happier.

    Alex Smith and his coworker arrived promptly at 8AM as scheduled and got to work moving two electrical outlets to make room for some new cabinets. After a quick home electrical inspection and recommendations on some current code upgrades they got to work moving the outlets. They were both very personable and efficient during the installation and had the job done in short order. I would highly recommend Mr. Electric!I also appreciated the photos of the areas they either recommended upgrades and of the work in progress and final completed product that was attached to the invoicing email for verification.

    Kevin and the gentleman that was with him were wonderful. They listen to our needs to get several general maintenance issues done. For example, installed brand new smoke detectors in my mothers home (peace of mind). They went above and beyond, taking care of small things like replacing the batteries in the thermostat. Kevin was so kind, he spoke to the plumber to explain another issue that needed troubleshooting. To sum it up its the little things that go a long way. He did a thorough safety review of my home and provided me with a detailed report. When they came out to do the work they were very professional.     I called in for a small issue going on with an outlet outside. Mr. Electric was very quick to respond and able to fit me in that same day. The electrician was very professional and quick to resolve the problem however he also performed a whole house inspection at no cost which revealed some items i know about but a few others i was not aware of. I was given a cost estimate for each item and also an explanation for each so now i have an estimate and order of importance on what needs to get done next. I fully endorse Mr. Electric to anyone if you are looking for someone quick, honest and professional.

    I called specifically for an EV charging station installation, and with that came an inspection of the house which revealed multiple electrical issues. Alex and John explained why said repairs were necessary, and honestly, I feel much safer in my house knowing that theyre all fixed. They did a great job and kept me informed about the progress regularly. Even when an issue came up 24h after the job was complete, Alex came back out to fix it within the same day.     I gotta be honest, me and my wife are first time home buyers and obviously first homes come with a lot of issues. Being young and not having that much money to our names, the service was surprisingly affordable. Alex showed up on time and as soon as he got out of his van he greeted me and immediately starting chopping up a conversation with me. The FREE inspection that he did really opened my eyes to what my house really needs. He kept me updated every step of the way and answered literally every question I had. Alex really has a passion for what he does and I could tell, even before he said he loves his job. He got straight to work after the inspection and price options. I will definitely be calling you guys again and I want Alex to work on my home until he physically can’t anymore. I am more than pleased with this service. 10/10

    I have a Homeserve warranty through Old Dominion which I had to use twice recently. The people at Homeserve were friendly and efficient and they booked my repair service in a timely manner. I was fortunate enough to have been put in touch with Mr Electric out of Irmo SC. as the vendo for my repair. My initial contact with Mr Electric was with Jeremy, an electrician. He came out to service a mal functioning outlet. The problem was not large, but because it was Christmas and my wifes lights werent working it was! He took care of the issue in short order. Jeremy asked if we needed anything else checked before he left.I asked him if he would my main line in box because I noticed some rust in it and the lights would blink occasionally. (I just figured it was OLD Dominion) After inspecting the main entrance box he suggested that we have it replaced. Yes, I know what you are thinking, sure he wants to replace it$$$$. The thing is I had another guy suggest it be replaced as well.Jeremy explained what was happening and what they would do to fix the situation. Mr Electric contacted Homeserve and gave them Jeremys report and they approved the repair within 24 hours. We were told that it could be an all day job depending on Old Dominion and the County inspector. They blew the doors off! They were here by 9am and were finished by 2:30 pm! These guys did not mess around. This was a situation where OLD Dominion had to come out and cut the power to the house. The main power entrance box to the house had to be removed and replaced, Old Dominion had to return and reconnect the power, then have a county inspector show up to bless the work! After Jeremy and David of Mr Electric were finished they wanted to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and was there anything else we needed before they left.You know the old saying, you only get one chance to make a good first impression, well Jeremy and David both filled in the blank with a 100% rating. They were polite, professional, articulate and knowledgeable individuals. I would trust them to come back and do additional work and will ask for them if I am using Homeserve warranty program which saved me a lot of $$$. .

    Not what I expected to have to have done, much less pay for in a new house!! The original electricians and contractors should have done the job right the first time but boy am I SUPER HAPPY I had these guys come inspect it cause my house could have burnt down and I could have had so many other issues down the road!!!     Appreciated the fact they gave quote up front before doing work. Josh Carson the electrician was very punctual, patient and professional with his work. Also cleaned up wonderfully after completing job. Thought they were a little high in their pricing considering I had furnished all the fixtures and the pool timer that he installed. Everything that was done seems to be working properly and I will definitely refer my neighbors and friends to them if their services are needed.All in all a good experience.Once again very impressed with Josh the technician and also Amy and Jeremy Halady who own the franchise.

    I have nothing but good things to say about this company! First off, my scheduled time was supposed to be from 1-5pm which is understandable! I got a call at 9:30am asking if they could come early. The time they showed up was 10am, so VERY good on that part! The electrician that came was Tucker Norton. He is VERY professional, friendly and knowledgeable about his work. He is a very diligent worker. I had two Ring floodlight cameras installed and I am very satisfied with the installation. I called to set up an appointment a few days ago and Amy helped me with that. Amy was very helpful and super professional on the phone. I did not have to wait long for my appointment.     Response to initial phone call had service tech phone back within 15 minutes. Tech indicated he would be at repair site in 90 minutes. Tech collected non refundable fee because of emergency. Tech came as identified and quoted cost of repairs. Costs seemed considerably high but in the emergency and due to his promptness I had him do the repair. Took 2 hours but very nice installation. Identified what else would likely occur from electric supplier. Took photos and left site spotless.

    I had a huge issue with no power going to an outdoor kitchen. Mr Electric ‘s office responded quickly with an appointment.Josh came out was on time diagnosed the issue that the original contractor of the outdoor kitchen just laid the wire under dirt and pavers. The contractor did not take into account breaks in the wires from tree roots and other issues that may arise. Josh on the first day of the job found the break and told me how he could fix by relaying all the wire in a conduit and running from under the dirt and pavers and aligning to the fence out to the outdoor kitchen. And it looks absolutely professional and it worked! . Josh and his coworker did it in all in the summer heat. I would very much recommend that it you build and outdoor kitchen get a professional electrician such as Mr. Electric 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.I have found my forever electric company for all my homeowner needs. Our appointment was later in the week, but when an opening became available, the receptionist called to ask if we would like an earlier appointment.     This is a lil bit long, so bear with me please. (Or scroll to the very end)Every time I’ve called Mr. Electric, they’ve sent out extremely competent & knowledgeable professionals. This last time was no exception. Tucker was great! I knew my electrical system needed some upgrades, but I wasn’t sure where to start. Tucker came out and, after asking me what I needed to have done, completed a safety check of the entire system before getting started.When he finished, he was able to make some recommendations about what I needed to help me achieve my goals for the house and completely answered every question I had. I was probably on the verge of creating a fire hazard, so I’m really glad Tucker could see the issues clearly and bring some sanity to my situation. His work was CLEAN. He and his apprentice John seemed to really work well together. Tucker considered the aesthetics of what he was doing, so none of the work looks messy or haphazard. I’ve had someone put an outlet in the middle of a wall before for no reason. It was refreshing to not have to worry about something goofy happening.After he repaired my panel and left for the day, my refrigerator went out. (NOT his fault)The new panel had actually exposed an issue with my refrigerator! Even still, Tucker came back out, ran another test of the panel, and tested the connection between the panel and refrigerator. He wasn’t able to recreate the stress on the panel that was causing the issue, and since everything he installed was brand new and operating well, I had to accept that my refrigerator was the culprit. I really respect how thorough he is. I know if there was a way to safely prevent replacing a big appliance, Tucker would have found it. My convection microwave had already gone on the fritz and all I could think about was the replacement cost for both the microwave and the refrigerator. But, Tucker did his part, so I had to do mine.Anyway, my family now has a new refrigerator that doesn’t randomly shut off, I don’t live in abject fear of burning down the house plugging extension cords into each other (yea, I’m THAT person. Don’t judge me), and the ‘broken’ microwave is now properly powered and working like a dream.There’s a certain level of quality I’ve come to expect from Mr. Electric, and Tucker completely aligns with (and even exceeds) that expectation.     Google seems to not allow me to write a new review, so I am editing my last one. I used Mr. Electric again today. Alex and his assistant showed up with in an hour or so and fixed my issue. The experience was excellent! I highly recommend this company! 5 Stars!---I needed my hot tub I impulsively bought hooked up with 220. Mr. Electric of Columbia stated they could be there the next day. The next day their technician Jeremy Halady showed up on-time. They sent a text when they were in route. He provided a quote before doing any work. He wore covered foot covers, face mask and social distanced (the entire time), was considerate and professional. He did the work and took pictures. I am not an electrician, but have some knowledge, he did an outstanding job, very thorough, no cut corners. I was provided the pictures of all of his work. He identified electrical issues that other electricians did previously and he did not try and upsell. Simply pointed it out and suggested to call them back to fix. Stated if they can not fix, he would like the opportunity to. Mr. Electric of Columbia also schedules an inspector to come and verify the work has been completed properly. I highly recommend this company.

    Oh where to start! My arrival time was between 8am and 10am and they arrived promptly at 8am. I received a text message about 15 minutes before they arrived, stating they were on their way, and it included a photograph of the technician. When I opened the door I as greeted by a gentleman named Jeremy, standing on a door mat with his companies logo on it. He gave me his business card and introduced me to his associate Tucker. Before they got started they completed a full, complementary, safety check of my new homes electrical system. My home is less than 2 years old but they did find an error caused by my builder that would have reduced the life span of my AC units. They even provided me with pictures. Fortunately my home is still under warranty so Ill have my builder fix it right away but Im so grateful they found it. The job was pretty straight forward; 8 ceiling fans. Remove 3 and move them upstairs to rooms without 1, replace those 3 with new ones, replace one that was broken, and put a giant new one upstairs in my great room. I told them I didnt have any of the down rods because I didnt know how long they needed to be and they told me not to worry about it they would take care of it. Additionally, I have very tall ceilings and most of these had to be installed on ladders. One of the rooms ceiling was 25 feet tall and they tacked it no problem! They all work properly, are at the right height, and most importantly - dont wobble. They did an amazing job cleaning up after themselves. I think it is even cleaner than when they arrived. :) They even took away all the ceiling fan boxes and old fixtures for me. That was a great help. To give you an example of the type of service I received before they took away the old fixtures they removed the LED light bulbs out of them and set them aside. It never even crossed my mind. I would have just thrown them away; they saved me $30 in light bulbs! When it came time to settle up we spent about 30 minutes reviewing everything they did and they answered all my questions. They even recommended I sign up for the the Protection Plan which saved me money, extended my warranty on their work from 1 to 3 years, and gave me discounts on future work. They were so professional and courteous. As they were leaving they picked up their door mat and moved a few piece of mulch from my sidewalk that had been displaced while moving their tall ladders in and out the door. I cant speak highly enough about these electricians. I highly recommend them.

    Tucker was extremely professional and courteous during my service. He answered all of my questions, provided guidance and educated me on the electrical aspects of my home.     Jeremy, has been one of the best commercial and residential Electricians/Professionals I have ever dealt with over the past 20+ years in Columbia. We had him work on our business Camp Bow Wow, he was on time, if not early. His ideas on what we were trying to accomplish plus being cost conscious for us.     Caring customer service. I was so happy with my service from Mr Electric. The technician, Jeremy, arrived early and was professional and respectful. He had a mat with him and booties to ensure that he did not track anything into my home . I had a few minor problems that he corrected without charging me. He explained that there was a service charge for a diagnostic and when I could not reach my husband to determine if I should move ahead he accompanied me down to the dock where the problem was and fixed the issue. He worked on calibrating the dimmer for my overhead LED lights. Most companies would insist on charging the diagnostic fee or minimum house call but none here. I am thrilled with such great service and will use Jeremy and Mr Electric again!

    The repairman was polite, professional and on time. I was annoyed with the company, not the repairman. I called for a simple repair yet he spent 2 hours (free of charge, but apparently required by his company) inspecting my house. Then I was presented with a $11,000 estimate for upgrades that included a whole house surge protector that he overlooked. After this I decided not to use them for the repair because I feel they are trying to drum up business. (I have a commercial grade system designed by an Elect. Engineer) After 2 hours, my exterior light bulbs were not change and the chandelier was not removed so that i could take it for rewiring.

    The lights in my garage weren’t coming on right away when I flipped the switch. I had three lights, each with two of those long tubes for bulbs. Mr. Electric said they needed new ballasts or he could convert them to LEDs, more cost effective and brighter too. The LED fix was twice as expensive as new ballasts, but I chose that anyway and I love my new lights! They come on instantly and they’re so bright! Thanks, Mr. Electric!

    Everything was very clear and up-front about costs; technician was very professional, attentive, and friendly; communicated everything very clearly. We had a home power outage that did not appear on our electric companys outage map, but Mr. Electric determined the problem WAS outside of the home and thus could not implement the repair. The total cost to determine that: $179 dispatch fee and $195.50 diagnostic fee. Im sure those costs are about the same, regardless of vendor, but its absolutely OUTRAGEOUS to pay nearly $400 simply to determine the cause of a power outage.
