After working with Ackerman Plumbing on a couple of projects, I know that Ive found my go-to plumber! They installed a new water heater and a new shower stall in my bathroom. The shower turned out beautifully! Everyone was very kind and patient when we were working to find the right showerhead. All of the plumbing staff were wonderful to work with. They were extremely positive and upbeat. I could tell that they liked what they were doing and that completing the work correctly was important to them. I highly recommend Ackerman Plumbing.

I cant say enough good things about Ackerman plumbing. We had a tricky problem with a shower that was leaking down into our first floor ceiling. It took a little while to troubleshoot the issue (mostly due to the shower manufacturer) but Ackerman kept in touch with us over the whole course of things. Their technicians were all very friendly and prompt and all of their work was top notch. I would recommend them for any plumbing work you need.

The price was reasonable and unfortunately that was not my experience with other companies in Iowa City. He was very professional and after I had a question he came this morning to check. Troy and his plumbing partner (sorry - cant remember his name) did an amazing job, basically, reinstalling a water heater that was shoddily installed when we bought the house and rerouting plumbing for a water softener installation. Very down-to-earth people who took time to explain everything he was going to do. We are very pleased with the quality of their work, their professionalism and the total cost of everything they did. Cant thank them enough.

I called on a Thursday and they were able to get somebody here to replace it the very next day!Aaron Elias was my technician, he was very friendly, on time, and got everything swapped out fast and he cleaned up after himself!I cannot recommend Ackerman Plumbing enough, they stand behind their work and treat their customers right!!

Big shout out to Aaron & Hayden. Yesterday I noticed our water didnt seem warm and wasnt getting hot. I had just ran the dishes, used the shower and assumed I probably used a lot of the hot water. This morning I ran the hot water and it stayed cold. Uh oh... So I went to the utility room, and Im one to troubleshoot and see if I can fix the issue myself, the hot water pipe was cold which was my first indicator that we werent getting hot water. I then proceeded to see what else was going on and eventually decided that I should call a professional ASAP. I called around to several plumbing professionals and came upon Ackerman. They were the 3rd call and at first they said they would not be able to come for 2 days, I then asked Kim (their friendly rep over the phone) if any appointments opened up that they would be able to squeeze me in. Ackerman is stated as a family-owned and operated business so Id want to support them.Kim immediately said that one of their service teams was actually almost done with a job and could fit us in. I called at 10:00AM and they were over at our house by 10:40AM. Aaron and Hayden were great, they provided amazing customer service and itemized the cost of what we would expect to pay. They even contacted the manufacturer of our original water heater to check and see if our original heater was still under warranty. They went and picked up a new water heater, installed it and were out of the house by 12:30PM.We will be calling Ackerman Plumbing anytime in the future when we need any service done. They were friendly, professional, helpful, and honest. I really appreciate their help and I have a happy wife at home. Thanks Aaron & Hayden!

Kim was so helpful on the phone and very professional. The service was great. We received not only the exceptional service but Cory also took time helping us understand the system thoroughly. Most importantly, Cory and the technician were carefully staged the floor and work areas before they started the work and leaving the work areas clean after their work. I definitely will share this experience with friends and families and will call them back for any future plumbing needs!

Corey has been out twice, last year he repaired a leaking fresh water pipe and yesterday he replaced a broken sump pump. Ours was after hours, but he arrived within 2 hours, which was beyond our expectations. He is great! He explains as he goes, teaching, and answering questions about what he is doing.Kim (in the office) is wonderful and makes 1st contact a positive experience. She communicates honestly.We will not use anyone other than Ackerman!***UPDATE*** 02/02/2021Again Kim was great!We had Dale and his helper replaced a water shut off valve and replaced toilet flange. They were professional, friendly and arrived on time. They also were careful about cleanliness and sanitization.

I am a member of the Ackerman Club. With this membership I get an annual inspection. Because of this great service I was able to get my water heater replaced under warranty.The inspection includes a detailed report on all plumbing inside and outside your home. The report you get back is similar to when you have a vehicle serviced. You know what areas are wearing and possibly may need repaired in future. After annual inspection all items are discussed and any repairs approved by homeowner are done that day if able or immediately scheduled.This is my first home I have owned and have enjoyed this wonderful service Ackerman provides!

While we did not end up using Ackerman (because our need required outside work and inside work), I would highly recommend them for their quick response, professionalism and helpfulness. Left a message on a Sunday afternoon and got a call back within minutes after they opened on Monday. They had someone out to look at what we thought our problem was on Monday. When they determined our issue was beyond what services they performed (need a new curb shut off), they even provided names and numbers of other companies they recommend for the services we need. Gentlemen who came to our home were professional, friendly and full of helpful information. They were also respectful of our home with shoe covering and wore masks to comply with COVID19 safety. I would definitely call them again for inside the house plumbing needs.

We had Corey over a few months ago for another project & while in the basement, he wandered over to the sump pump. After a quick look, he told us servicing it (or doing a total upgrade) was our most pressing need. We agreed with his assessment and talked about making it happen but didn’t act on his advice. A few nights ago, it sounded like a helicopter was taking off in the basement & we knew it was the pump. I called Ackerman Plumbing the next morning & Kim was kind, efficient, & got us on the list for the next day. She called again, on the day of service, to give us a heads up of when the tech was coming. He arrived on time, immediately updated the sump pump, and minus the new cover, you’d never know someone was here. It was quick & convenient to pay on the spot and the bill was exactly what Corey had quoted us months before! We are 100% satisfied with everyone we’ve worked with at Ackerman’s. We’re not eager for when more plumbing issues need to be done, but we know we’ve got a great company to work with, whenever it does happen!

We hired Ackerman Plumbing to run a gas line from our gas main to our sun room for a new gas-fueled stove. From the start, our experience was great. Kim, at the office, was polite, efficient, and easy to work with. Dale came to our home to complete an estimate and he was professional and thorough in his analysis. When Dale complete the job, he worked all afternoon in heavy rain to get the job done. He thought of everything from firing up the new stove for us to see, to explaining how to use the controls, to closing our garage door when he was done.
