My house was surging and blowing lights. It was a Friday afternoon, I called 2 electricians and the utilities. I got nothing resolved until I called Mr. Electric, Austin Hollingsworth came out at 8am and didn’t leave until 6:30 pm with just a 30 min break. He did a great job explaining, examining and solving all my problems. His partners Ryan and Josh joined in (found the parts after traveling everywhere to get them because parts stores were closed on Saturday) and helped get the job done. These 3 men knew their business and took much pride by fixing it all and making me feel safe in the fire hazard home. My house was outdated and had more problems than I knew. These are before and after pictures. Austin went the extra mile and cleaned up old wires that had been cut and left by cable guys. He also discovered my stove had burn inside during the surges. He came back on Monday and did the safety check and found that some of my outlets had previously been wired incorrectly. Also that my fire detectors were outdated and they I needed additional ones. I’m so thankful I ended up using this company and for Austin and his partners!

My electrician was Ryan Duvall. He is unquestionably one of the best service technicians I’ve ever worked with. He was personable, knowledgeable, friendly, professional and just an awesome guy! Mr Electric was not the only company I called to quote the installation of a car charger in my garage, but no doubt, they were the most knowledgeable and thorough. I am very impressed and pleased with the work that Ryan performed in my house and outside the house. Mr Electric is definitely my go-to company, when I need an electrician in the future.

I highly recommend Mr. Electric of Huntsville when you need to have electrical work done. We had collected 5 things that needed to be fixed or replaced and Mr. Electric responded immediately and the Service Professional, Hunter Geeslin was very impressive. He came out that day to assess the work we wanted done and was very professional and helped us decide what we needed and the best way to do the work. He came the next day and did the work as promised and to a high standard. He explained how we could solve another issue and we will ask him to come back in a month or two and do that work.

Oh my goodness, I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience with Mr Electric, and Austin specifically. I had been looking for a generator solution that wasn’t $14000+, to run my pool pump, septic pump, frig, freezer and a few lights. The main generator supplier wouldn’t offer any solutions other than a whole house generator with transfer switch and quite frankly, came in with an attitude that sealed my decision of not purchasing from them. However, when Austin from Mr. Electric came, he was a very nice, respectful, smart young man, who developed the perfect solution for me for a very reasonable price. He even offered and installed 2 much needed surge protectors and grounding rod, to protect my entire house and pool equipment. In addition, if parts were required that weren’t quoted, they covered the costs. I don’t know any other business that does this!Mr. Electric of Huntsville provided me with the personalized, small town service, that is so hard to find now days. I can’t recommend these folks enough!!! I am a forever Mr Electric customer now for all my electrical needs.

Mr. Andrew Burgess performed very professional troubleshooting an inactive house circuit that turned out to be a defective circuit breaker, which he replaced and had it back up and working within a couple hours. I contacted MrElectric after a positive referral from family members. Steven came out and did a safety inspection. We then reviewed funding from a recent home inspection. Using the results, Steven put together a plan to resolve the issues. He also suggested improvements such as whole home surge protection. Two days later they came out and did the work. It was all very quick and easy. The work exceeded expectations. Great job!

Mr. Electric representative “Jason” was one of three local companies who responded and worked up a quote to perform the work of upgrading an 200a service to 400a and installing/replacing three new sub-panels, meter base and manual interlocks circuits for a backup generator. All three representatives were responsive and sent me emails before their scheduled arrival. The differences became apparent once I started asking questions about the local codes and working with the local (Huntsville) inspectors. All three quotes were very close in cost but I went with my gut, and am very happy with my decision. Jason and his team showed up on time and completed the job well within my expected timeframe. They even identified an undersized 50amp wire I needed to feed my new hot tub. I am very happy with the quality of work provided and can highly recommend their team for your next electrical service.

Last night as i was installing a light switch plate i had overtightened a screw and the bathroom lights flickered. This morning i requested service to look at it for my peace of mind and the technician (Gage) was over by mid afternoon. He listened to my concerns, identified that the switch was bad (and was able to recreate the issue whereas it only happened the once for me), and was able to replace the switch right away so it was fixed and i didnt have to worry further about it. I appreciated that he explained what he was doing along the way so that i could understand the issue and what he was doing to fix it. I would definitely recommend and will be calling Mr Electric for future electrical needs!

Also a surge protector on our electric panels in the garage. They were both super nice, polite & did very neat work! Everything looks great & they left our room cleaner than it was! I can honestly say that I have never had as good of an experience as I did with Jared and Bobby. Their professionalism, knowledge, friendliness, just hands down fantastic. They were able to fix my issue within an hour or so, and offered multiple different options and did a courtesy check to see what all might be needed and The time in the care that they took with me you could tell that they really do enjoy their job and I 10 out of 10. Recommend anybody to use Them for your electrical services. I now have An electrician for life. Phenomenal service

Jared was very professional and transparent through the entire install. He was on time and explained the entire bill and features of my install. Jared installed a 14-50 outlet and 50 amp GFI breaker mainly for the potential of purchasing electric vehicle, but the 240V outlet allows for flexibility. Also installed a 50 amp generator inlet with a manual transfer switch as a solution to use my home generator to run some circuits in my house as backup. Installed whole home and HVAC surge protectors along with upgrading my electrical grounding system. I would easily recommend them for any of my electrical needs

Josh Dice and his assistant Justin installed an additional light in one bathroom and a replacement stove top. Their work could not have gone better. From the initial inspection of the work to be done, to the final inspection of the work completed; the experience was great. Although there were challenges and the work took longer than expected, these two took their time and worked calmly and diligently to get the job done well.Josh Dice has done many electrical projects in our home since 2012. His attention to detail, knowledge of his field, and exacting standards set a high goal for others. Justin is in very capable hands to gain experience and skills working with Josh. When friends and neighbors ask us who has done our electrical work, we never hesitate to recommend Mr Electric and Josh Dice.

I called about what I thought was an outlet issue. It was producing 120v but not 240v. Ryan came by to do a thorough check of possible issues. What he found was a much deeper issue. Something that could’ve quite literally had our house catch on fire if left unattended. He, Andrew, Justin, and Congo spent the rest of their afternoon/evening to fix our issue and make our house safe for my family. It’s the day before Thanksgiving and that wasn’t a thought in their mind when I apologized for having them out the evening before a holiday. They worked until the job was complete. I can’t tell them enough how thankful I am for their quick and great work to get this house functional.

Although it was concerning at first when they identified our 40-year-old electrical boxes as needing replacement, we appreciated their thoroughness in catching a potential issue before it became a problem. In addition to replacing the boxes, they installed much-needed lighting upgrades in a couple of rooms at the back of our house, along with new external electrical boxes for holiday lights and other uses.From start to finish, their team was prompt, professional, and courteous. Mr. Electric sent out Jason Griesbaum to assess the backup battery wired smoke detectors that were continuing to chirp for low battery after all batteries had been replaced multiple times in the last three months.Determined that my suspicions of some having reached end of life was correct. He was great about explaining what could have caused this to happen since all were under the ten year expectancy. Also performed the safety assessment and gave some recommendations of potential maintenance and updates that would be beneficial for the electrical reliability of the house.He was prompt and very communicative about the assessment, my options, and potential paths based on my choices. He was fantastic for working around the meetings I had to call in and support while he was on site. Worked out well that he could finish a full portion of the safety assessment then fire alarm system assessment while I supported the meetings and we could discuss between. Very respectful and knowledgeable. Did not shy away from answering any questions I had and if he was less sure he made that clear in his responses, which is fantastic and not common enough. So glad I called to get assistance and Jason was the tech they sent out. He was phenomenal in documenting everything he did, content for suggested updates, and making sure I got all of the material for later referencing.

He installed the outdoor ceiling fan with light kit and I also asked about putting a surge protector on the house (I had one on the old house) and Ryan explained about the protection and where the surge protectors should be installed. I decided to get the surge protectors to protect the house and pool and AC units. There was no pressure from Ryan to purchase these.. I decided that I wanted to protect my investments and it is worth it! Highly recommend Ryan and Mr. Electric!

Incredible Customer Service!I had smoke detectors installed four years ago as part of a whole house rewiring project. Yesterday, the smoke detectors started alarming without an identifiable cause. No cooking, no cigarette smoke, no outdoor smoke, no fires…. After the detectors did this a couple of times during the day, I contacted Mr. Electric and asked for advice. Josh Dice immediately responded and gave me suggestions. Josh came to my house the next morning and evaluated the detectors. He ended up replacing them under warranty. I have never had such exemplary customer service as I have had with Josh. He is always friendly, respectful, and solves problems to my satisfaction. I have complete confidence in his technical knowledge and expertise. He is honest and will do the job as if he were working in his own home. Thank you!

In general, my experience was very good. The quality of the work is excellent. There were a couple of minor things: As requested, the lights on my shed were mounted on either side of the door; however, I was not consulted about the exact location, so they are slightly too close to the door. This limits how much the door can be opened, but once the holes were cut for the fixtures, there is no recovery. Also, the clay mud that was tracked onto my driveway has left a stain that will probably require pressure washing to remove it.

A short time after inquiring about a backup generator, Zach with Mr. Electric reached out to schedule a meeting day/time. During our meeting, he walked me through the benefits, what to expect during and after the installation, and provided, what I deemed to be, a fair & reasonable quote. Post meeting, I had a few clarifying questions which Zack took the time to explain and follow up with an email capturing our discussion. We signed the contract and scheduled an installation date. Installation: Initial crew was Mike and Brian. They took the time to explain what they need and what to expect during installation (which echoed what Zach stated) and got to work. As this sort of thing happens, they ran into unexpected challenges. They called in reinforcements and got to it. By evening the same day, our power was restored and installation was complete. Final checkout scheduled next morning, where they simulated a power outage to exercise the generator. Worked flawlessly! Id like to recognize the Huntsville Mr. Electric team who made this happen: Zach, Mike, Brian, Stephen, Skyler, Gage, and Jaden. Every single member of the team was polite, courteous, and professional. Im confident I will receive the same level of service for future maintenance and potential warranty needs.

This was my first time using Mr. Electric’s service, and I can’t say enough about how well it went! I called to have four ceiling fans installed, and they were able to have someone out the next day. Trenton arrived on time and thoroughly explained the work he’d be doing. Ryan and Steven worked on our lighting issue and were extremely polite and professional. Ive worked around electricians for most of my career, and these guys know their stuff. Ryan was very thorough with his inspection of the electrical service and came up with a decision table which was very concise and helped us focus on what was urgent. Although Ryan couldnt stay, he started the repairs and worked with Steven on what needed to get done. Ryan jumped right in and finished the job quickly and was very neat in cleaning as he went. Should we need Mr. Electric again, I would certainly want either of these two on my job and heartily recommend them for yours.

We own an older home (built in 1957) and were have problems with the electrical. We lost power to several overhead lights/fans and then our laundry room. We called Mr. Electric in the afternoon and had an appointment set for the following day. We were pleased and relieved to have Izac Scot show up on time as promised. He made us feel at ease and got right to work diagnosing our issues and putting together a plan to repair it. He was personable, professional and very knowledgeable. He put together a plan and explained it all in detail to us and had scheduled the technicians for the next day before he left. The following day Austin Hollingsworth, Gage Baker and Hunter Geeslin showed up ready to work. And work they did! After a full day, they ran into a problem that was not related to their scope of work. Austin came up with a plan and left us with the promise to return and finish the job once we had the other issue take care of. Once we had the other issue repaired, we called and they were back the next day and completed the job. We are extremely happy with the service provided by these young men and Mr. Electric should be proud to employ such knowledgeable, hard working men. We would not hesitate to contact Mr. Electric again should another need arise, or recommend them to anyone.

I called Mr electric at 8:00 a.m. By 9 o’clock Trenton Philpott was at my door. After discussing my electrical problems with him I canceled an afternoon appointment with another electrician. He started work immediately and within an hour Jared Michaels was there to assist him. Together they completely updated my system from a 100 amp to a 200 amp and moved the power supply approximately 10 feet to accommodate all requirements. They accomplished this by 4 o’clock and had an inspector out to sign off on the work. The utility department came out and updated the power supply and my power was back on by six. I recommend these guys highly. I am very happy with the results.

We have had electrical work done in our house before, but never have we had any company that was as thorough as Mr. Electric. We recently called Mr. Electric for their free electrical inspection of our house. Tyler came and we were very appreciative for his visit. He found several problems that our former company had missed and a serious one that they created. We had no idea that we had several places in our house that were not up to code. Tyler called to our attention one place in particular were wires were getting too hot and had turned colors. He told us what was going on and what was wrong, but he was not pushy. With safety in mind, we scheduled Mr. Electric to correct the problems that Tyler found. Jaden, Brian and Steven came a week later and they did a great job correcting all the problems with our electricity. We had a new electrical line connected to the circuit box and installed under the house to the garage to provide outlets for our freezer and our second refrigerator. They installed new smoke detectors. They also installed the right kind of outlets that are supposed to be near water. We are very pleased with Mr. Electricic and we not call any other company if we ever need more electrical work done. Call Mr. Electric if you need any electrical work done in your house. You will not be disappointed with they. They are thorough and very professional.

We have a new air conditioning unit. On two occasions, a breaker has flipped and cut off the unit. It usually happens when we are out of town and it is hot outside.We had the unit checked by the local company that installed it. They said two breakers were hot and may have been damaged or the circuits had too much current going through and they may need to be replaced.I called Mr. Electric and made an appointment for several days later. I was advised who was coming and when and he showed up on time. He analyzed the problem and concluded the circuit board in our townhouse had several breakers installed that were not designed for the type of circuit board installed when the house was constructed. Also, a wire going to the air conditioning unit was insufficient for the amount of current it needed to be able to handle.He recommended we install a new circuit board that could handle tandem breakers similar to the ones that had been installed when new appliances were put into the house. Upon reflection, we have installed a number of new appliances, in addition to a new air conditioning system, including high definition large TV screens, computers, convection oven, new dishwasher and others after purchasing the townhouse. While the circuit board worked well with the older equipment, the additional load was too much for the breakers and circuit board designed for less of a load.Mr. Electric brought in a new circuit board, installed all new breakers, ran a wire through the attic to the outside air conditioning unit and tested the connections. It was a big job and they were here from about 11:30 until 8 PM, including the time to go pick up breakers that were the wrong kind and had been delivered for them to install.The installer (Spencer) returned the next morning to finish installing the correct breakers. I told him I had a conference call at 9 AM. He said he would be finished before that. He called about 7:30 AM and said he was on his way. He finished the job before 8:30 AM as he had promised to do.The electrical box was installed neatly and they cleaned up afterward. There is hole in the wall that has to be patched where a wire was run. We are to hear from the company in the next several days and someone else will come and patch the wall. The employees with whom we dealt were polite, professional and knowledgeable and took the time to answer numerous questions.The electricity is running perfectly. No more hot breakers and, no doubt, a safer system that will continue running during hot weather as the correct parts have been installed.

I have to start off by saying how much I appreciate the service that I received, and the fact that my concerns were addressed and resolved on the same day was exceptional! Darrell Avans was very professional. Darrell explained everything in great detail so I could understand what caused the issue and how to prevent it in the future. He had a very respectful demeanor . I appreciate the fact that he was able to communicate in a way that doesnt go over your head, and he took the time to customize suggestions that were suitable to my style of living and love of newer technology without aggressively over-selling. After inadvertently piercing a main wire with a screw while mounting cabinets, I called Mr Electric around 9:30 at night. At 8:00 the next morning Isaac came by and looked at the situation worked out a solution and contacted a crew that worked through the day to get our house reconnected to the power. Austin, andrew, skyler, gage, bailey, and Chris work tirelessly through the day and into the night to rewire our house and get us reconnected back to power. I am very impressed with Mr Electric and their ability to get a job this serious done in a short amount of time.

One of my breaker units was shorting out causing my kitchen, laundry room, guest bathroom, dinning room, and patio lights to not work. Mr. Electric came out in a timely manner and they were able to find the issue within 30min and fix it in another 30min.The cost was absurd. Its ~$525 just for them to just diagnosis the issue for 4 hours. After that if they cant find it, youll have to pay them another $525 to diagnose the issue.With my problem, it took him 30min to find. So he discounted me down to $399. Which is still probably 3 hours of work, and feels like a rip off.Then it was another ~$300 to modify one of my lights which took another 30min.Next time, Ill be putting in more effort to resolve the issue myself.UPDATE: Mr. Electric did call me back and has offered a partial refund for this as well as giving me a year of discounted service.

It involved the fan, most probably related to the controller but the circuitry was much more complex that a professional was needed to troubleshoot the entire circuit..
