    We recently used Maryland Carpentry for a very large floor to ceiling family room built in unit and we could not be happier with the end result! Leslie manages the business and she was immensely responsive and took her time to answer all of my questions (and I had many) to ensure that we were completely comfortable with the project. Franklin is the designer and master carpenter. He did an initial consultation to understand our needs and take primary measurements before beginning sketches. As the build date got closer he came back for final measurements and completed the full rendering so we could see what the finished project would look like. Franklin is meticulous with detail and on the install day he was fully prepared with a team of 5 who were very thorough, professional and who worked expeditiously but didn’t rush. The team was very transparent on pricing and routinely expressed their commitment to making any final adjustments needed to make it perfect. We found them through a neighborhood referral and would not hesitate to use them again or refer others. Thank you Leslie and Franklin for being this gem of a local business!(For reference, the back panels are wood with our requested backlighting).

    Look no further for your carpentry, remodeling, built in projects. Franklin and his team will be with you ever step of the way from design through completion to make your idea a reality. Maryland Carpentry is a team of skilled professionals that make sure every detail is right until the customer is 100% satisfied. Franklin is very personable and genuinely cares about his customers and making their homes beautiful. MD carpentry help make our kitchen exactly what we thought it could be when we bought a fixer upper house. They created 2 custom built pantries with a desk, an 8 foot island - complete with slow closing drawers, painted our existing cabinetry and built all new doors for them so everything matches. They also installed beautiful oak casings around a larger opening we have from the living room to the kitchen. The doors even slow close as well, which is was a wonderful detail I hadn’t even known I wanted. Overall, the experience with MD Carpentry was wonderful including reasonable pricing. We will definitely be contacting Franklin for more projects in the future!

    Update: March 2024This is the 3rd time Franklin and his crew have come to do projects in my home. This time it was wainscoting in the foyer and a large built-in unit flanking my fireplace in the family room. When I signed my contract in January 2024 we had scheduled a May installation date. Franklin emailed that he was able to move up my installation to March, which worked out great! Even if I had to wait till May, it would have been worth the wait! Franklin and his crew never disappoint. They are hard workers and they aim to please and always do amazing work! Again, I would leave 10 stars if I could. It is so nice to hire a contractor that you can trust and know the your project will be amazing when it is finished. His crew is friendly and aim to please. Franklin has transformed my home with his expert craftsmanship, attention to detail, and outstanding professionalism. I cant wait to find more projects for him to do in the future.If I could leave 10 stars I would! Franklin and his team are awesome, professional, and thorough!     Maryland Carpentry transformed the plain white walls of our new construction house into a masterpiece! Franklin is extraordinarily talented, professional, and a true master at his craft. From initial consultation to design to completion, he and his team brought our vision to life and had great ideas. I shared pictures of my inspiration and Franklin delivered -- including installing shiplap and board and batten in several rooms in our house. Leslie -- who handles all of the scheduling, coordination, contracts and billing -- was absolutely wonderful: friendly, flexible, professional, very responsive and upfront about timeline (FYI: it was worth the wait). When we later added on another project, she was so accommodating in fitting it in. The customer service was a breath of fresh air. We were amazed when Franklin and his team completed ALL of our original projects in ONE DAY, and about a week earlier than expected! The crew showed up on time, prepared and ready to get to work. They were incredibly efficient, detail-oriented and committed to quality and craftmanship - not to mention, a pleasure to work with, from start to finish.     We had such a great experience working with Franklin, Leslie, and the team at Maryland Carpentry.In this case, we wanted to fill a blank wall with built-in shelving (and a bench). Franklin visited our home twice in advance of our installation to ensure measurements were accurate - and that we were happy with his design.     There’s only one word to describe the experience we had with Maryland Carpentry: stellar! I had been searching for a carpenter to install custom shelves with desks and came across Maryland Carpentry’s website. I was so impressed with their work that I immediately reached out for an estimate. Maryland Carpentry got back to me quickly and Franklin came to the house for an estimate. He worked up a sketch and we collaborated on the design. Maryland Carpentry was able to complete the job three weeks ahead of schedule and installed the built-ins in one day!     Maryland Carpentry built a custom booth in my kitchen sun room. I shared inspiration photos, concept, and my goals and they crafted a custom booth and table to fit the space. I was impressed by how quickly I was able to book a construction date, and they completed the project in one days work. I worked closely with the company on the planning, construction, and a few post project tweaks. I had quotes from several other companies and this was the most reasonable. I am thrilled with the result!

Franklin and his team demoed our nice but not functional fireplace surround and re-built a shiplap surround plus a new mantel to coordinate with the shiplap that they recently installed in our living area, in addition to re-mounting our TV. This was an add-on project and Franklin and his amazing office manager Leslie fit us in their busy schedule. They are sturdier than anything we could have found on the market and even a little deeper, which makes holding large board games a breeze. The price is worth it!     I cannot speak highly enough of Franklin and his team! They demo’ed an old, unfinished closet and installed this gorgeous, hand-crafted closet set for us and we are thrilled with the work. They prepped the closet pieces ahead of time and were able to complete all of the on-site work in one day. Also, the team wore masks the entire time. They even went out of their way to match our wall paint color in order to tidy up the space around the installed closet.     Maryland Carpentry made and installed a custom bed in our guest bedroom. We knew this would be a unique project and Franklin and his team did an AMAZING job. Impeccable craftsmanship!Franklin and his team created a desk/ media center combination and added a storage solution to a small room.     The most exceptional services, product used and 100% customer satisfaction! I love love love my new built ins. My entire fireplace look changed with their customized built ins. That came and took measurements, brought stuff in and completed the task in one day. Not only are they professional about the entire process but so compassionate about what they do. I wanted a custom countertop for my laundry room and they kept staining the wood and kept coming back (with samples sent in by fedex) until I was happy with one color. Totally worth every penny. The most beautiful and presentable part of my home, the showstopper built by Maryland carpentry! If you’re going to spend on one home improvement, I recommend their services. They made and installed a full built-in shelving unit and separate floating shelf structures in my living room, basement, and laundry closet and did a fantastic job.     I cannot say enough amazing things about Franklin and his entire team! They are responsive, punctual, respectful and the quality of their work is so impressive! I have actually never worked with a contractor that is so responsive to questions and inquiries. Everyone was on time or early to every scheduled appointment or day of work and I was so grateful at the level of respect in my home - starting with always wearing shoe covers or removing shoes, laying floor covering and working so clean and cleaning the space after the work was done. And the finished product is just so beautiful! The project has far exceeded my expectations! All details were thoroughly inspected before completion, they assured me I could just call if I had any issues (which I do not expect to!) and I could not be happier!     This was my 1st experience having a contractor and a custom built-in. I just had my whole kitchen remodeled, laundry room, my living room and hallway all painted had laminate floor put in, and a custom built-in entertainment center in the living room.     Franklin and his team are amazing! He did a built in cabinet and a fireplace mantle for us. It looks stunning!They wore n95 masks at all times. Before they left they cleaned and disinfected the area. Very clean team.
