A review to me is always important and should be honest.Several months back my family was looking to update our family summer home, that has been in the family since my father built it himself in the mid 60’s. It was time for a major overhaul hauling.We contacted at least four builders to get a quote. Mike the owner of Marine Home Improvement Inc., responded in a timely manner. He is knowledgeable and personable. We felt like we invited a member of our family into our home. He respected the sentiments that this home meant to us. His suggestions were spot on. His price was excellent. His crew are very hardworking individuals. Mike is easy to talk with. If we had a question or an issue he was right there to address it.Our family of 8 siblings all agreed that Mike’s company earned 5 stars.Just to name a few things we had done;The exterior house was stripped and replaced with, Fiber Cement Clapboard.New windows,slider, front and shed door and re-framed a doorway plus other small projects we needed fixed.We are not ready for the next step, however I will be calling Mike when we are ready for a new roof and deck.

Michael and Marine Home Improvement did an absolutely outstanding job. We cant thank them enough for the way they transformed our home. They stripped the entire house in record time and replaced the siding as well as all the trim, sills, downspouts, gutters and a big bay window. The new Hardiwood siding looks fantastic. In fact. the entire house looks amazing. The transformation is breath taking. We wish we did this years ago. We couldnt be happier. We solicited bids and met with 3 contractors. Michael was personable, professional, and direct. His price was very fair. The Hardiwood product and quality of work are outstanding. There were absolutely no surprises. His crew arrived on time and worked tirelessly every day. They were all very pleasant, personable, helpful and professional. We really enjoyed having them around. We are extremely happy with the new roof installed by Michael and his work crew. It looks great. I did not know they have 50 year guarantees these days !Some unexpected water damage was uncovered, it was kind of big but it was no problem. Micheal came up with a repair that made it good as new. The roof is pretty good size, still it was done in one day, with everything cleaned up and back to normal.Marine Home Improvement has a nice balance of electronic (email) quotes and talking through the work needed face to face. The whole process was fast !

This company far exceeded my expectations, and were amazing to work with for my back porch demolition + rebuild. Id highly recommend them for any project, given how responsive, hardworking, and generally amicable they all were. From start to finish, the owner Michel Trankels was exceptionally responsive (I dont think an email or text I sent to him went more than 30 minutes without a response!). He was also patient and responsible when it came to helping me navigate some complications the project had with the city zoning laws. The workers (Alessandro and Rafael) that he brought along for the work were extremely hard working, sometimes spending 11 hours at my house in the hot summer sun working to get the project done. Ill certainly be calling them back next time I have a project their company does work for.

I contracted with Marine Home Improvements to replace the roof shingles and rebuild the overhanging gable end roof trim work with a more substantial detail than was used previously.Working with Mike, the owner was a pleasure. He was always courteous, Informative and flexible with his schedule when it was necessary for me. We worked together discussing and coming up with a workable detail for the gable end issue which gave me confidence that the detail would be installed properly .Once the materials were delivered we were ready to go. The crew, lead by Luis were on time and eager to go. They worked tirelessly from 7 AM until 7 PM with only a lunch break at Noon time. Their workmanship and work ethic were professional throughout. Luis handled all the carpentry work on the gables and the quality of his work was top notch. He handled all my questions professionally and with patience. Mike and his team were exceptional! We had our three floor colonial resided from old, rotted wood to the Hardy board with new gutters and trim and 18 windows replaced. They provided high quality of work within reasonable timelines. Despite having some material being back ordered (as expected), the team was there the very next day installing. On top of everything else, the pricing was almost half of what the other guys were quoting.We will be using them again for additional projects in the near future. Thanks again !

The prep and clean up was done so well done youd hardly know they were even here. He replaced my old skylight with new Velux, and I finally got my architectural shingles I always wanted. We hired Marine Home Improvement to replace the roof on our house, including a leaky, sagging roof over the front porch. The team was working very hard and finished the job in two days despite considerable amount of carpentry required, especially on the porch. They also did a very good job of cleaning after the work.We liked working with Mike, the owner of the company. He responded to calls and emails quickly and answered our questions in a straightforward way. His willingness to acknowledge and fix problems, of which there were very few, made the whole experience much less stressful than it could have been.

We used Michel and his team at Marine Home Improvements for a new roof back in 2015 after a really bad winter. We shopped around a few places for quotes and MHI was hands down the best price especially for what was included. They replaced everything, including the plywood, on our roof and still had a far better price than other companies we spoke with. They worked fast but were thorough and you could tell by watching that they knew their job. Ive recommended them to family and friends and everyone that has used them raves about them as well. Michel or Ralph are quick to respond to emails and calls. They dont make you feel pressured and can answer any questions you might have. My husband and I recently started discussing a few new jobs we want to get done around the house and immediately thought to contact Michel. Both times I have requested quotes they were quick to give detailed breakdowns of the jobs and even mentioned what brand of materials they would use. I could go on and on about how great this company is. I look forward to using them soon for our new siding and front porch.

After sustaining roof damage and on the recommendation of a friend, I contacted Marine Home Improvement & Roofing via their website and received a reply back within an hour.Michel came out the next morning to look at the roof that needed to be replaced - he was able to schedule us for 3 days later.The shingles were dropped off in advance, the crew arrived when expected, tarps were placed over the landscaping when they tore the shingles off and the roof was completed in one day.Michel inspected the job himself at the end, cleanup was excellent and the crew worked well together. We needed a new roof for our old Victorian after storm damage. Our roof is incredibly complex, with multiple turrets, gables, chimneys, etc. - a real old Queen Anne from the 1890s, with a steep multi-story drop in the back, as we are on a hill. We got five quotes from area vendors. Marine Home Improvements bid was in the low end, and they had (by far) the most comprehensive, positive reviews, so we contracted with them to do the job. We also added in complete gutter replacement, new fascia, and a short list of other frame repairs, figuring we might as well get everything done while they were up there. We sent the contract & deposit on August 7. Work started on September 5th, in the middle of a horrendous heat wave - in the 90s with 90%-plus humidity. Despite this, the crew showed up and cranked out the job. In the course of it they discovered that our roof had up to 5 layers of shingles to be removed, instead of the 2 layers that all 5 vendors had expected based on aerial surveys. Mike at Marine Home delivered the job as promised, without any discussion of price adjustments despite the fact that the labor was much more intensive than expected. We ran into a couple of snags during the job - some of the yard plantings were damaged (none fatally) from the demolition of the 5 layers of shingles and, despite the fact that we had been told to expect some minor damage, one of our condo members was quite upset about it, and we werent satisfied with the appearance of one of the minor frame repairs Mike did for us. In both cases, Mike was pleasant and professional, and made sure we were satisfied with the resolution of our complaints before signing off on the job. I would contract with him again, and wouldnt hesitate to recommend him to others.

From the initial correspondence and subsequent quote I was pleasantly surprised at the prompt response and comprehensive nature of our conversation. Each question and concern was addressed on the scope of work and additional measures if contingencies were to arise. Mike and his crew arrived on the date promised, did absolutely flawless work, and came up with solutions for a house that is by no means standard. Working on an antique residence with few straight walls, foundation inconsistencies, and lots of rot is a challenge, and there was basically no delay or perceivable alteration. I also have an abundance of unique plants along my foundation and they all came through with little more than an a few scratches. I was pleased with the results, the cost (as low as any you will find) and the prospect of future projects Marine will do for us. Highly recommended.

Marine Home Improvement was not the cheapest of the bids we received for this job, yet we selected them and are very glad of it. The bid itself was professional looking and detailed. The details that it included helped us eliminate other vendors who hadnt spelled things out like: using the painted aluminum (instead of yucky J-channel), or if they were insulating. The quality of the work that is being done makes us glad we selected Marine Home Improvement. Worth every dime! Here are some reasons:Excellent work ethic - they show up and get right to work in the early morning. They work through cold and drizzle. They clean up after themselves both as they go and at the end of the day.High Quality work - There was a small area of rot they uncovered that they made sure was fixed correctly. They didnt just cover things over. Everything lines up aesthetically, and is clearly true and level.Attention to detail - The window framing is amazing. Watching them do it has been a source of interest for many of the folks that regularly walk down the street. People stop and watch.Personality - They are pleasant and polite, and when weve stopped them to ask about something, they are always accommodating of our questions.

Marine replaced my roof and did a great job. The team worked quickly and completed the job in a fast manner at a competitive price. Everyone was respectful and helpful. He ensured that our roof would not have any water buildup (which our previous roof did) and also pointed out spots that had wet insulation underneath so that they could be properly replaced. Marine Home Improvement Inc. The dumpster was dropped off first. The next day, the crew was there ripping out the old roof, repairing what needed to be repaired, and adding the new roof. The job was quick!! They did a great job!! It looks awesome ! I would recommend them to any one that needs a new roof!!I am so happy now. My roof looks beautiful!!

The team and the foreman were very professional and timely and did great work. Didnt have to chase them down to get work started, was the opposite of most contractors where you have to chase them down, with Marine, we had to race to keep up with their pace. Also did great work.

Marine Home Improvement is the BEST, and we would give 10 stars if we could. Last week we got our entire roof done as well as repairs due to the storm damage. Michael came right out, was so professional to deal with, helped us pick out just the right color shingles for our house. His crew was fantastic!!! Such hard workers. They never stopped! They finished in one day, and they cleaned everything up like they were never there. I would definitely recommend Michael and his crew to anyone!😁Eric and Kelly
