Virtue Homes finished our basement bedroom and bathroom this summer and we couldn’t have been more pleased with how the spaces turned out. We built our house in 2016 with Virtue Homes and when we decided to complete the basement spaces we knew who to call. Dan T was great project manager to work with and communicated well throughout the project to keep us up to speed. The Buildertrend app was a great resource this build to keep us up to date on the project timeline and cost. Virtue Homes will be the first call for our next build.

Virtue Homes exceeded our expectations for a custom home builder. Their upfront pricing and ability to keep our project on track budget wise and time wise proved to us that they had the customers best interest in mind. The quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail allowed us to have a home that is not only unique to us but will last a lifetime.Our Project Manager Dan gave his own professional opinion on many items where we were unsure of on how to proceed. Dan only wanted the best quality for our home which was great to see from a contractor. The subcontractors that Virtue has relationships with were great to work with and delivered the highest quality work. We would and have recommended Virtue Homes to friends and family because of their commitment to building quality homes.

Gerald and his team were awesome to work with in building our 1st home. They are a top notch custom building company . From Dan who walked us thru the start of the process getting our house plans to our needs to getting all of the options we liked to have on paper for the house. Kyle our Project Manager was with us during the build and kept us in formed as to what was going on, He kept the build on schedule and was always available to answer any questions we may have had. He always made sure the quality of the build was up to the highest standers that we were expecting. We are very happy with the house that they have built us!

The team at Virtue Homes truly made our dream home a reality. It certainly was no easy task designing and building a custom lakefront home on a bluff, but they made it happen with ease. I had a vision from the very beginning and they delivered above and beyond my high expectations, it was truly impressive. Being a first time home builder, we interviewed multiple builders. After meeting with the team at Virtue, our gut feeling told us they were the right team for this project. We toured their in-progress builds and were blown away with the attention to detail in every home, whether it was a spec or completely custom. Virtues vision, knowledge and craftsmanship is the best in the valley. The communication was outstanding the entire time. The record keeping, contract and any change orders were easy to understand and straight-forward. They are extremely detail-oriented and transparent. We met with many of their suppliers and subs, they all raved about the team at Virtue and how much they enjoyed working with them. Our phenomenal project manager, Kyle, has the experience and expertise to handle all of the ups and downs associated with building a house. The stress for us was non-existent. He was with us every step of the way and always prompt to respond or set-up a meeting on site. He patiently explained things in detail. From the beginning, they recognized what was important to us and utilized their network of dependable subs to deliver. It was a seamless process from start to finish. Gerald and Kyle understand every facet of the house construction process and get the project done, on time and on budget. We cannot thank them enough for their dedication and availability even after the house was complete.

Virtue did an AMAZING job building our new home. The land we purchased caused some hiccups and Virtue did an incredible job navigating through the challenges. Communication was 10/10. And they did everything they promised and more. Dan, Gerald and Kyle did everything as if it was their home being built. Cristy the designer that is included in the cost of the build is phenomenal and helped us design our dream home. It was such an amazing experience and we are so grateful!

We toured Virtue Homes winter parade home and were immediately impressed with the design and attention to detail of the home so we decided to talk with Gerald and Dan about building a house for us. We had talked with a few builders in our search but felt Virtue Homes provided the best combination of services (attention to customer, accuracy of quotes, build quality) for us. We worked with Gerald and Dan on the design of our new home and they were able to fit everything in our wishlist within our budget. We were worried that some builders may quote cheaper finishes just to fit within budget but everything quoted by Virtue was high end and allowed flexibility in the design. The final bid was easy to understand and very transparent on exactly where the money was going and what the timeline for the project was going to be. The subcontractors that Virtue had chosen were easy to work with and all had great things to say about Gerald (which is always reassuring). Throughout the build we received updates on the progress as well as budget. Though at times we didnt receive updates as much as we would have liked, Gerald would be quick to respond to any text or email that we sent him and answered all of our questions. As the build progressed we did have weekly progress meetings that answered any of our questions and ensured the project was going to be completed on time. Our build finished within a day or two of the original timeline and finished on budget. Our new home is fantastic and includes everything that we wanted! Gerald and Dan were great to work with and I would recommend Virtue Homes to anyone looking to build or remodel a home.

I contracted with Gerald and Virtue Homes to tear down my original garage and build up a nice new one. Gerald and his crew including the people he contracted out were all very professional and did an amazing job! I was very impressed with how well everything flowed from one part to the next. Gerald is easy to talk to and he listens well to what you want. I cannot recommend him enough! The work done is way better than average.... the city inspector told me my garage was one of the nicest he has ever seen built! If I could afford to build a new home I can assure you Gerald and Virtue homes would be the only one I would even consider to do the job. Thank you so much!

We recently completed our build with Virtue Homes and we are VERY satisfied with the process and overall customer service that they have provided to us during the build. The entire team is personable and work with you even when you feel something may not be quite right (even after installation). You can really do what you want and theyre always open to helping your manage and stay within your budget. We also used the full package assistance with their designer Cristy which REALLY helped with budgeting and style. She really showed you inspiration within a reasonable budget. We research a lot of other builders in the area and all we kept hearing was no or we wouldnt be able to do that. When we met with Virtue Homes (Dan and Gerald). It was always, we can work with that, never NO. I appreciate all theyve done for us and the communication with the site manager and team was unbeatable. You know EXACTLY what is being spent and where. No surprises. Thank you for our new home!

We couldnt be happier with the work of Virtue Homes. From the beginning to final touches on our new construction home everything was very organized. We always knew what was happening on each day by looking at the detailed schedule that Gerald provides. On that schedule it tells you which subcontractors he is using, when they will be there and what they are doing. He also did an amazing job working within our budget and letting us know where our money was being spent. Once everything was picked out we got a detailed budget sheet explaining every cost. Both the schedule and the budget plan did not deviate from what we were originally told and that made this a very stress free experience. I will recommend Virtue Homes to anyone that is looking to build a home and will use Virtue Homes for any future projects.

We bought are first house from Gerald last summer (2014). Its a beautiful and functional home. Gerald and his team did a great job with all of the craftsmanship details. We love that the house came with a 1 year warranty. Over the course of the first year anything we needed fixed they helped us with it. Gerald and his team of subcontractors were great to work with. They were very timely with responses and any repairs needed. Our overall experience with the virtue homes team was great and we have recommended them to others. Thanks again !

We built a home with Virtue Homes in 2012. Gerald was great to work with through the entire process from sitting down to determine what we could build within our budget through to the finish. One of the things that led us to Gerald was his honesty from the beginning. We wanted to stay within our specified budget and Gerald was able to give us an idea of what we could build within that budget (unlike other builders we met with prior). He was always available to answer our questions and concerns and quickly responded to emails and calls. Gerald continues to be a resource 3 years after building our home if we have questions. Quality and attention to detail were evident - we continue to receive many complements on our home. We would definitely recommend Gerald/Virtue Homes to anyone interested in building a new home!

Virtue Homes built our new home in 2014. We worked with Gerald and he did a wonderful job. He took the time to understand our wants and needs. We worked with Virtue Homes in 2017 to design and build our custom new home. Our overall experience in working with the Virtue team was excellent and we would recommend them to someone looking for a reputable builder. They made the overall building process easy and were very transparent throughout.The initial bid and resulting contract were extremely detailed specifying not only the vendors and subcontractors involved, but also the specific items that were included. The pricing was broken down by logical groups and the contracting charge was clearly spelled out. Throughout the process, change orders were provided as needed, based on adjustments to the initial scope, so we always knew where the price stood.Once we got into the build, Virtue provided a detailed daily construction schedule showing which subcontractors would be on site and what they would be working on. This schedule was never changed and never deviated from throughout the entire build and we took ownership of our home on the exact day specified.It was very clear from the start that Virtue had high standards for subcontractors which resulted in a great group of partners. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, had good options, and provided high quality work. This included taking our input and designing a house that fit our specific family needs with some unique features. The end result after just a few months is a high-quality house with very few items that have needed follow up.In terms of the Virtue team, we started the process by working with Dan on the design and bid. Then we were transitioned to Kyle to manage the construction process. They were both responsive, easy to work with, and provided good guidance throughout our journey. Our interaction with Gerald, the owner, was limited to initial meetings and management of change orders and draws. It was clear that his level of organization, experience, and high standards carried on throughout the entire process.The only negative experience we had was with some poorly presented email communications from Gerald. After voicing our concerns, we received an apology and the situation was remedied. However, this was balanced again by Dan and Kyle, who we interacted with most regularly.Throughout our journey we heard many cautionary tales about cost overruns, delays, and headaches associated with building a home. We can happily say that we did not experience any of these issues while working with Virtue Homes. Their process made it easy and enjoyable to follow along and know what to expect. We don’t plan on needing a new home anytime soon, but if we do we will certainly reach out to Virtue Homes again.

We have been in our new home built by Virtue for almost a year. I grew up in a farm house and our first (only) home as an adult was 50 years old when we bought it 40 years ago. So, building a home was a new experience. We chose Virtue after interviewing and touring a home with someone who had just built with them.I found the process of choosing all the details seamless. We found an architectural plan on Virtues website that fit our needs for handicap accessibility and they modified it to fit our family. Their timeline system helped me to know that I wasnt missing any important details and the venders were very helpful. Our home was finished within a couple weeks of its projected date. We enjoyed working with all the people we interacted with in the process and we absolutely love our home. We highly recommend Virtue Homes.

Dan Klopher (realtor), Gerald Helf (contractor) and Kyle Mueller (project manager) were fantastic all along the explore, design, and build phases. We met Dan on 2016 Parade Homes where we first walked through a Gerald home. We really like the back half (North side) of the house with open concept of living room, dinning area, and kitchen in a large open space with laundry and master suite in line on the back half. But we liked the front half of a house (South side) from another builder with mud room, study, foyer, guest bedroom, main bath all in line. We then worked with an architect to bring together both into one design. We also put into the design to finish two thirds of the basement with one bath, two bedrooms, kitchenette, den area, and exercise/game area. Dan and Kyle worked with the architect and us to finalize design and construction issues. Gerald provided a list of their sub-contractors (about a dozen) and told us to go pick out everything so their bid would be as accurate as possible. This worked out very well in not being in a panic to pick stuff out the last minute (although there was still some of that). Many subs commented that we will love Gerald cause he plans the work and works the plan through a spreadsheet listing of weekly activities/ responsibilities of each sub. This worked great to communicate what work we could expect when as we were at the site almost daily. And he pretty much stuck to the plan! Gerald uses change orders to document and contract with us every change and cost increase/ decrease. We are very pleased with the quality/ quantity/ timing of the work and we love the house. Only the concrete was delayed. Gerald is a quiet communicator and you dont always know what he is thinking or his mood on any given day. He is careful in what he says, but he always delivers on what he says. The team of Dan, Gerald, and Kyle all balanced one another out very well. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

The cabinet contractor was behind schedule, and Casey kept us up to date with the schedule changes this caused, as well as moved things around to ensure the project was done very close to schedule. Work actually came in under budget too. Very happy with the new theater, bar, rec room, bathroom and spare bedroom in the basement.

Virtue Homes completed our basement with exceptional quality, on time, and on budget. We really appreciated the high quality materials and craftsmanship which created an extra space for our growing family. In addition to our basement Virtue helped finish our garage as well; plastering/painting the walls and installing a furnace. This created even more space and makes the garage feel like another room of the house.I pictured the process of finishing our basement as something that was very long and messy. I’m happy to say that Virtue Homes took great care in protecting our home by covering floors and stairs and keeping dust and mess to a minimum. In addition, the entire project was done in only 5-6 weeks!I highly recommend Virtue Homes and we are so happy with their process and work product!

Virtue Homes built my last two homes. Both homes were built with incredible craftsmanship. Gerald pays very close attention to detail and truly wants you to love your home. Whenever a change is made Gerald figures out a way to make the change and still keep you close to your budget. The sub contractors Gerald uses are very knowledgeable and pleasant. Building a home is stressful and Gerald definitely helps eliminate a large portion of the stress. Gerald pays attention to what is important to the home owner and makes suggestions to make your idea even better. The communication is outstanding. The project was seamless from start to finish. Both homes exceeded my expectations. Post build Gerald is always available to answer any questions and dedicated to stand by any issues. We recently completed the build of our dream home in Greenville. Gerald and Kyle were great to work with! Their list of subcontractors were also extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the design phase of the project. Even though our build was completed with material shortages due to the COVID pandemic, Virtue was able to meet the timeline they provided once the house was framed. We were able to manage the total cost of the home through their detailed change order process. Any cost over runs were completely our choice in picking items out for our home and all options were explained giving us all the information available to make an informed decision.We were extremely impressed with the level of detail and craftsmanship Virtue provided. Virtue Homes was great! In addition to a nice design, the management plan/schedule was spot on, the vendors for paint, flooring, plumbing and countertops, closets and cabinets were very knowledgeable and helpful. Sub-contractors were prompt, friendly, and respectful and cleaned up each day! The project manager (Casey) was very responsive, accommodating, and easy to work with. We are delighted with our new, professionally finished basement (including a great craft area) which adds beautiful living space to our condo!

We decided to build with Virtue after the 2018 winter parade of homes. Dan Klopfer in their sales department (who is also a realtor with Coldwell Banker) was extremely knowledgeable about the whole process, which we were pretty intimidated by. I left our conversation feeling much less intimidated by the building process and that was ultimately what helped us make our decision to build. Virtue had great references and we really liked their work. This was our first time building a house and we had heard horror stories. From start to finish, this was a great experience. Our project manager, Kyle, was on top of everything and had even brought some things to our attention that we hadnt noticed (the carpenter started to install a different trim than what we had picked). Any small bumps that we encountered were dealt with promptly and fairly. The subcontractors were great, and all of them sung Geralds praises as being one of the most (if not the most) organized builders they had ever worked with. We got a list at the beginning of the process showing us what was being done and when during every stage of the construction. We always knew who would be on the job site on what days and what they would be doing. All of our work was done on or ahead of schedule. We had an issue with our outdoor lighting fixture (weather related, not construction related), but Virtue has been working with us to get this issue resolved and we have really considered that to be above and beyond. Their work is high quality and they clearly put their customers needs first. Gerald holds the work of his subs to very high standards and it shows in the finished product. Dan was also immensely resourceful when it came time to putting our own house on the market and choosing the lot we ended up building on. We felt very comfortable with him. Through the whole process, we always knew we were in good hands. We are so pleased with the results of our build and we would recommend Virtue to anyone!

We could not be happier with Geralds work on our kitchen remodel. We had a complete gut of our kitchen. Walls came out, new window, new overhead lighting, new gas, electric and water placements. Everyone cleaned up everyday and let us know the progress. Gerald was always available to answer our questions. He gave us a timeline with all the contractors coming and going (and they were all on schedule:). We were very impressed with all the work and contractors. We will would strongly recommend Gerald and Virtue Homes to anyone looking to use their services.
