I appreciated the detailed and easy-to-understand information about what was going on with the water heater and what I actually needed for my home.     The folks at 5 star plumbing are professional, talented and dedicated. The most recent project I did in my home involved them. Not only did the project go well moreover, having them review my plumbing resolved hidden challenges to the long term health of our home. I would recommend them to anyone that has a long term interest in ensuring the value of their home. My only regret is not having a plumbing review from them years earlier.

    We had numerous recommendations from neighbors in the Galena Territory to use Five Star Plumbing and for good reason! Josh and his team have done a fantastic job fixing up numerous plumbing issues in the house we bought in the Territory, updating our water tank in an incredibly small space, and troubleshooting a sulfur smell throughout the home that required numerous updates in our crawl space. His team also replaced all our toilets. When our propane unexpectedly ran to zero he walked us through relighting the pilot on our new water tank over the phone on a weekend, a real life saver! Thank you Five Star team!

    Five Star gave us two beautifully updated bathrooms — installing vanities, toilet, new faucets, and correcting plumbing issues & fittings. We were extremely impressed with their communication, professional quality work, on-time performance, and attention to all details. Their pricing was very affordable.     Again, in January of 2024 I needed their services. Based on the service and quality of the professionals involved...I have now decided that they should change their business name to 5+ Star Plumbing!My review of four years ago:Five Star Plumbing is as its name indicates! They are the most professional people I have encountered in a time of great duress. From owner, Josh Suess, to the team of Joe, Jason and Corey, this is group of trained specialists who operate with the utmost of integrity. Tara Suess, who handles the administration is a gem! They knew how to solve my sewer plumbing problems and make sure that my home was clean when they left. My wife and I were extremely pleased with their work. If I could, I would create a new level of rating system just for them, SIX STARS! Then they would have to change the name of their company.

    We use Five Star Plumbing exclusively for our two businesses as well as our residence. They are a pleasure to deal with - always professional, timely and do a GREAT job! What I really like is that they are very conscientious about cleaning up after themselves - you are left with absolute no mess! You can tell that they truly care and enjoy what they do. I will never consider any other plumbing team!

    Had a leak last night and left message via their easy to navigate website. Early this am had heard from Tara setting appointment for today. When the prior job was taking longer than anticipated, Tara sent an update advising the time change. This was not my first experience with 5 Star. Nice friendly professional gentlemen who know their business. They leave it all nice and clean when finished. Rates are competitive. You won’t be disappointed with Five Star.Now on Sunday evening January 10, 2021, we noticed water coming up in our basement floor drain. Never had happened before and I left an email notice for Tara. Josh called....came over on Monday, used their cameras, and an arsenal of equipment to ascertain the problem quickly. Back on Tuesday.....found the problem, tree roots not just from our property but also on Utility Inc. part of the line. He did not leave us in the lurch one bit. He knew who to call....never have seen Vanguard out so fast to mark out our Utility lines....and the excavator was here bright and early. He even called Mediacom to make sure we were not without Internet Service very long. Josh was out there with the excavator the entire time...directing him to stop when he found the ashes of our dead dog as they had to dig up the Memorial Garden we had for her. It was necessary to lose an awesome Specimen tree and he was there also to call Utility Incs supervisors to inform them of their issue. Five Stars dedication to this huge problem, or installation of new toilets a few weeks before is unparalleled. You will be well-served to call this business for all your plumbing needs. By the Way....we were not their only client during our turmoil and they handled everyone with timely information, and professionalism. Thank you Five Star Plumbing.

    Josh and his crew are amazing!! As is his wife/secretary Tara!!! We were left hanging by another company. I called all around, Tara was so nice and was able to have Josh come look and get us taken care of right away. They didn’t make me feel like an idiot like other guys in tri states I tried reaching out to. Very professional, polite and a man of his word. I’ll never call another plumber again!!!! HIGHLY recommend!!

    Five Star Plumbing exceeded my expectations across the board. My water heater needed to be replaced. I called them in the afternoon, and the water heater was replaced before 9:00 the following morning. I sent an inquiry following the installation, and the owner personally called me that same day. Professional and fair while providing quality materials and workmanship—5 stars all the way.

    Five star plumbing is the best in the whole area. When you call them, they come right away. They dont act like you are an inconvenience trying to be squeezed into their schedule, which is a quality that is hard to find in Jo Daviess county! They are prompt, and very good at what they do! They are also very reasonable! I recommend them to everyone!

    Just Wow! I emailed asking if my sink could be fixed and was emailed back with in minutes advising that someone could be out the same day. Joe called and was to my house fast! Joe and Dee were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would not go to anyone else. They were complete honest and explained everything.

    I am a plumber who lives in Michigan and my father, who lives in Dubuque IA, needed a new pressure tank and water heater. All work i could do, but could ‘t get back home to do it. I called Five Star because of their reviews, hoping they would drive to Dubuque to do they work. They did! They did great work quickly and it was priced fare. I got back home a few weeks after the work was done and was very happy with it all.Thank You!

This is a very honest and professional company. I would trust their advice and contract them to come out and do work in my mom’s house again.     Fantastic service. Since moving to the area, all communication and dealings with contractors/home service providers has been a source of frustration. This was SUCH a breath of fresh air! Turn around time on all communication was spectacular. Phone call was returned shortly after my voicemail, the initial visit as soon possible, and the actual work performed the day after I accepted the quote! Josh and Connor were such a pleasure to work with- pleasant, efficient, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend 5 Star Plumbing!

    Josh at Five Star Plumbing and his entire crew are amazing. We’ve had him as our plumber since we added a master bathroom suite five years ago. He’s the only company I trust for all things having to do with the old plumbing in our house. Very responsive to emails and phone calls. His team are topnotch experts, even his business office is very professional. Excellent customer service all around and very competitively priced. I’ve never balked at a cost Josh has presented because I know it’s fair and the right solution. Basically the opposite of a used car salesman.We had a troublesome instant water heater with the master bath and Josh came out and did everything in his power to make the situation right with the heater’s manufacturer. Eventually we had to replace the whole thing with a completely different brand but I didn’t pay a single penny for all the service calls, troubleshooting, replacement parts and hours of phone calls and emails to the company. Josh did it all and billed the company. They never paid him for those service calls but he kept coming out whenever we had a problem, knowing full well it was not going to be paid.Not only is the crew at Five Star the consummate professionals, they’re polite and considerate while here. I can’t recommend them enough. You could go with any plumber in the area but you should go with Five Star Plumbing because everything about their business really is 5-Star.

    My first experience…a Sunday evening septic overflow while we were expecting guests. A call to 5-Star (I picked them because they advertised 24-hour service); I was connected to a technician who was just getting ready for bed, he got dressed and was with me In 30 minutes. The problem wasn’t as simple as he expected, but he took care of it and was a pleasure to deal with, even though I ruined his Sunday night! The bill came, and it was reasonable!

    Old water heater went kaput over night, so I googled for a water heater replacement company, and thank goodness up popped Five Star Plumbing. I knew nothing about the company but all the five star reviews they had did it for me! Called and left message and received a quick response call from Josh by 7 am. I wasnt even planning on a same day replacement, but to my pleasant surprise a n d amazement two young men were in my driveway by shortly after 8 am with a new water heater! They added me to their (Im sure) already busy work schedule for that day. Really appreciated the effort and accommodation to fix my unexpected problem that morning. They deserve their Five Star name. Thank you! :)
