    I wanted to share my experience working with TrueDecks on a big project that included a deck, a patio, and replacement of a fence.Timeline - everything from start to the end took a month. This includes permits, plans , design, proposals, etc. Salesman Fernando responded to all questions very quickly and never excused himself from being busy or on vacation. I think this is the fast you can get, given time others take to respond to your emails. Quick response is always appreciated.Scope - The project was delivered as discussed, despite the fact that some improper parts were delivered initially, but the firm took quick action to fix it and brought right color and right brand.Quality - With a few exceptions, work is done flawlessly. As an engineer, I noticed missing j channels around the deck, but it was fixed instantly. I had very high bar for every piece of the deck, and requested a crew to fix spacing between couple of the boards. At completion, deck had a perfect look with spacing between boards being 100% perfect, as expected. See photos. I didnt have any major comments on the patio, it had a perfect look, but I had to ask to put extra edges to be safe.Customer experience - Crew was friendly, focused on getting things done.Overall, I cant complain about anything. The job was well done , hope it will stay for the rest of my life. Just wanted to recommend to their supervisors to be more available and responsive to customer.See photos and let me know if you have questions!I think this is a.5 star.

    We had a relatively large project (demo of existing 1st floor deck, screened in porch and stone patio below before rebuilding everything brand new) and TrueDecks did wonders!We got 3 quotations from different contractors and although TrueDecks was not the cheapest, their price was competitive. However big plus for them was communication! TrueDecks was the only contractor to respond timely and to check in regularly during the bidding phase of the project (maybe even a bit too much to my liking but this is ok, they were motivated and wanted to win this project). That regular and seamless communication continued throughout the entirety of the project from the permit application, the actual work and even after the work was completed and I saw a few tiny things that still needed to be adjusted. I constantly felt the support of the entire team as well as their dedication to providing the highest customer satisfaction possible!About the work itself, I have nothing but praises for the teams! Incredible workers who worked quickly, hard and a lot! We were truly impressed as we saw them demolishing and rebuilding the new structures while always maintaining the yard as clean as possible. For sure the landscape and grass suffered a bit during the work, but the teams did a great job at minimizing their impacts on the property. This was not a requirement, but was highly appreciated.Ultimately, TrueDecks concluded the work in the expected timeframe (~5 weeks), and passed the county inspection without any issues.My only regret is that the project is now completed and that I will not have such amazing people taking care of our house anymore... ;)Lastly, special shootout to Franco, Pavel, Joselito, Chelsea as well as the team leader for the patio and the electrician whose names escape me now. It has been a real pleasure working with you ALL!Keep up with the great job and speak with you for our next project!

    For years, and at two different houses, I used TrueDecks to seal my back deck and I was a very happy customer. They always did great work. But this past Fall, I engaged them to (1) replace my back deck with a new one, and (2) repair and extend the bricked floor of my carport underneath my deck. Both projects came out absolutely fantastic--Im thrilled with the results and so happy that I used TrueDecks to complete the work. They have a great team and the finished product is so, so worth it. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in the area whos thinking of redoing a deck and areas around the deck.

    It’s definitely hard to find a company that lives up to their rating. True Decks has been amazing. They installed a brand new perimeter fence, which ended up looking exactly how we specified. They are installing a deck and it’s beautiful and they have been very speedy but also very thorough during the construction. The two guys that have been working for us for both of the projects have been incredibly friendly considerate if there’s ever even the slightest glitch, they talk to us about it to make sure everything’s OK and then they fix it. This is the company you want to go with you may spend a little bit more than a contractor that you find on craigslist, but it’s worth it

    DeckMaster is outstanding all around, from obtaining a quote, to service, to the project and final punch list. They are very responsive and on top of everything. I obtained them for two projects. A new front porch, with a gable roof, new paver decking, paver stairs, and railing system. Then a small side paver patio and new trex landing/decking/stairs and railing system coming from my kitchen access door. This company hires and trains great people, who all care and go above and beyond to get the job done, and done right. Im looking forward to spending time on my new front porch, its beautiful and tranquil. Im extremely happy w/ DeckMaster, highly recommend them, and plan on using them to install a new 16 x 20 backyard patio next year!     Truedecks did an excellent job removing my old wood deck and replacing it with a new Trex deck. My old deck had been afflicted by a fungus for years and ultimately needed replacement. Carlos was one of the few contractors that had seen my particular problem and guided me through planning of the new deck to hopefully prevent future problems. Throughout the job, he and customer service were very responsive and attentive to my questions and concerns. In the end, I was very happy with the results!

    Deck Master achieved our vision of a minimalist and yet modern and low maintenance look to showcase new fresher style with less obstruction. Pavel, the project manager was professional and very responsive. The quotes he gave us was reasonable, affordable, and the workmanship was remarkable - even better than their most expensive competitor. Yelka has superb customer service and she really took care of our needs and questions. The work of the crew was meticulous. Not to mention Carlos who installed the Trex Signature Horizontal Rod Railing had such attention to details and took into consideration our feedback and made things look well done.

    Had a 16x24 deck installed by TrueDecks this summer. First conversations in June and the deck was done in a week in mid-August by a very professional crew. They ran into an issue mid-installation due to some last minute changes to the design of the stairs, but they took full responsibility for the error and the resulting cost overruns. The main supervisor Pavel was very responsive and detail oriented to get the job done right. I spoke to the owner to provide feedback, and you can tell they are trying to do the right thing for their customers. Definitely a contractor I would trust again for additional work.

    I recently hired DeckMaster on an ambitious project to overhaul a large and intricate deck for my home, adding a screened-in porch and upper walkout. My experience was significantly enhanced by Pavel, who diligently supervised every stage from the removal of the old structure to the meticulous finishing touches on our new deck. Not only is Pavel exceptionally approachable and communicative, but he also brought forward valuable suggestions related to both functionality and aesthetics. Throughout the project, he displayed an unwavering commitment to ensuring our utmost satisfaction. While DeckMaster as a whole offers commendable service - were thoroughly impressed with the management and craftsmanship - Id particularly encourage you to collaborate with Pavel on your deck project.     Deck Master (1) removed our old rotting ground level wooden deck and replaced it with a beautiful paver patio with sitting walls (2) replaced our deteriorating porch wooden steps with composite vinyl/trex lighted steps (3) replaced our porch screens, cleaned and stained porch all fascia boards including vinyl cladding on vertical fascia. All work was done in a very professional way with separate crews that specialized in the work that needed to be done including the demolition. Each crew would show up and work until work was completed and then clean up and remove all construction debris. Crews and construction managers and office managers were friendly and responsive to our concerns. All materials and installation were top quality resulting in an impressive finished product. I highly recommend Deck Master.

    We are absolutely pleased with our new deck and the responsiveness of the DeckMaster team. Both David and Jose were helpful during the estimate process. We appreciated the attention to detail Gustavo and his partner put into their work constructing the deck. They were professional and thorough. It was a pleasure to have work done without feeling like we had to keep a close eye on the process to be sure it was done right. Especially important to us under the deck was that the posts would not obstruct window, door, or workspace. We chose a flush beam deck with a glulam beam at the outer edge so we could have one less post there. They were able to do exactly what we wanted. We opted for wood decking with Trex aluminum rails...looks great! Photo note: just snowed so the wood has wet spots - nothing wrong with the wood.

    We hired TrueDecks after my friend referred us. We had them power wash the house and deck which was done very well. Today we had technician Selvin replace 5 rotted post. My husband built our deck 27 years ago and he is very picky about who works on it. After Selvin was done my husband was beaming. Selvin did an exceptional job. The last piece of this work will come later this week with the final staining of our deck. At this rate Im sure the deck will look new. We have been extremely please with all the work from TrueDecks so far. I cant wait for the stain to be completed so I can enjoy my new 27 year old outside room. Thank you TrueDecks.

    We had Deck Master/ True Decks clean and stain our deck. They did a good job but we would have liked for them to secure loose nails better and to have been more careful with plants surrounding the decking.The deck looks good and we would welcome them to return in a few years to keep the decking in good condition but with attention to details.

    I was tired of dealing with splinters and maintenance needed on my wood deck. I initially requested an appointment to do an estimate for just repairs, but decided on the day of the appointment that I wanted to just replace with composite. Carlos from Deckmaster spent more than hour explaining my options and spent time answering my questions about the process. Unlike some other contractors I had gotten estimates from, I didn’t feel like Carlos was trying to sell me on products I didn’t need. So although Deckmaster was not the cheapest estimate I got, they were certainly the most honest-feeling which makes a big difference to me. They also came with the recommendation of two neighbors who hired them for redecking as well. After the initial meeting, Carlos sent me a summary of what everything would cost. He was very responsive on both email (within are few hours) and phone (always picked up) when I asked him to clarify and change some things afterwards. After the contract was fixed, I was sent an official document to sign. The scheduler called within a few days of signing the contract to set up the actual work date, which was only 2 weeks from my initial meeting.I was told the work (no work needed on underlying structure, just replacing decking, railing, stairs, and lattice) would probably take 3 days, but the team was so efficient and hard-working that they finished in under 2 days. The first day, a team of four guys led by Jose came at 730am and didn’t leave until after 6pm the first day. Jose clarified some things on the design before they started demolition. Pavel (sp?) the supervisor came by mid-morning to check on things, but otherwise Jose was my main point of contact. He went out of his way to help me remove some extra siding that I had left under the deck instead of watching me struggle with it. He also asked me whether I wanted certain hardware that was attached to side of deck to be put back when they were done when he could absolutely have just left stuff by the side. I really take notice of that extra care that Jose demonstrated. When the team was done, they left the area very clean and even power washed the final product before they left. To my very amateur construction eye, the work looks great!Now I have a beautiful deck that we can use for the summer without worrying about splinters in little feet! Would definitely recommend Deckmaster for anyone who doesn’t need the cheapest price, but is looking for honest, reliable, good quality work.

    TrueDecks did an amazing job restoring my exotic wood (Ipe) massive two-level deck. It was looking in rough shape, but they cleaned and sealed it beautifully to its natural brown color. It had turned totally gray and was really unhappy with the appearance. I collected quotes from several other companies and TrueDecks came in the lowest, and actually one of their competitors came in more than 3 times TrueDecks quote. Very pleased and continue to stick with them to clean and seal my deck every two years.

    TrueDecks really came through after a storm damaged half of the railings of my back deck. They not only replaced the railings, they improved them but in a fashion that didnt look out of place with the remaining railings.     The customer service was great. Melanie explained me about the services that DeckMaster provide. I decided to do a deck maintenance, and I was amazed of the great job that they did.     Had the best experience working with DeckMaster, Inc. My house has a historical designation which requires extra permitting and permission. Jose took care of all of that and he and his team fully replaced the existing deck with a much sturdier, better designed one. The whole process was smooth and efficient once the permitting was over, and I look forward to the final painting and finishing in the spring.

The deck looks great and Im very satisfied with the quality of the work as well as by the courtesy and professionalism of the workers. While doing the power washing, the crew accidentally damaged the front screen door and one of the landscape lights. They promptly repaired both items good as new.

    Deck Masters scheduled a free estimate with me to treat my deck. Their estimate was fair, their representative was a terrific guy who really knew what needed to be done to renovate my deck. We agreed on a convenient date to start the work. They arrived on time, power washed my patio (it looked absolutely new) and power washed the deck. Wow! They also locked in a reasonable price to have the deck retreated in 3 years! In just a few days, after the deck had dried, they returned and applied the protection treatment on the deck. It only took a couple of hours, and my 23 year old deck looked NEW! I highly recommend this company!!

    Deckmasters (now True Decks) did a great job on my new deck. Pedro and companyskillfully demoed the old deck and built a sturdy, beautiful new deck. They are very hard workers.     We compared 6 decking companies bids to construct a basic deck with pressure-treated wood, in order to compare apples to apples. TrueDecks was not only the least expensive bid, but also the best designed (aka over-engineered). Instead of just relying on a ledger board attached to the house and three supporting posts (i.e., the simple way of doing things), they engineered a self-standing deck with 6 posts and still tied to a ledger board on the house for lateral support/stability. Everything that I had researched to make our deck last longer (e.g., putting Trex tape on the top of the joists to prevent wood rot) was already included in their quote. Plus it was obvious that they specialized in decks, patios and fences, and didnt try to be the jack of all trades, master of none like some of the other companies.We decided to upgrade to a Trex deck with a picture frame border in a complementary color, and vinyl rails with round black aluminum balusters. Our old wood deck lasted for 32 years, but was definitely showing its age. Our new deck should last even longer, and look terrific the entire time!I almost forgot to mention--they work with GreenSky financing. We were able to finance almost the entire project (only a $500 payment). As long as we repay the loan within 12 months, its interest free! WIN, WIN, WIN!!!

    Good service all around. Carlos was great to work with and very responsive. Even dropped off a bunch of samples so we could see the actual colors and patterns vs looking at a catalog. The torn down an old wood deck that was dry rotted. There was significant water damge on the rim joist for the house which they also replaced. All the work was completed (including inspectation) on the agreed upon timeline. A couple months after the deck install, some landscapers were blowing leaves and a plastic cover on the railing ended up coming off. The landscapers never said anything so I didnt notice for a couple days. I looked everywhere to find just the cover to buy and I couldnt find it. FInally contacted Carlos to ask what vendor I could contact to buy it and he end up just giving me a couple extra covers.

    The work done by Deck Master, now True Decks, exceeded all my expectations. The construction crew supervisor, Carlos, was more than a craftsman -- he is an artist! Carlos started work everyday when the temperature was in the low 30s! Carlos attended to every detail. Deck Master was substantially more expensive than other companies that provided me with estimates, albeit less expensive than some. However, the foreman, Pavel, convinced me that all of the work would be done and be up to code. This proved to be the case.

We are very pleased with the work that was done.Subsequently we had DeckMaster redesign our existing wooden deck and add a new patio. The office, the Project Manager, the Foreman, all were in sync.     DeckMaster did a great job refinishing our deck and installing new screens/screening system. They were thorough in the preparation of the deck, cleaning it, replacing wood that was in bad condition and covering the house to avoid stain getting on the house. The end result is that the deck looks brand new!They also performed a soft-wash on our stone walk, power washed the house and attempted to repair several mortar seams on our brick front steps. They did great work on everything except that there were problems with the mortaring of the front steps. Although the employee did the best he could, it was beyond his ability. Consequently, we had to hire another contractor to repair the steps which was an unexpected, additional expense. DeckMaster did however, reimburse us half of the cost of the repair. Had we known this was not part of their core competency, we would not have pursued that repair.David, our estimator, was personable, knowledgeable, and made the process and decisions easy for us. The crew was also personable, efficient, well trained, took great pride in all stages of their work, and did a thorough job cleaning up. We have been very happy with all tasks except for the front steps, and would definitely recommend them for their competencies in their core areas.

    In two separate visits to my home DeckMaster cleaned my aged deck, steps, and rails one day, and then three weeks later sanded and stained all components on another day. In my case the cleaning was performed on a day they had a cancellation, and then I had to wait my turn and for sufficiently dry weather to have the staining done. The final outcome was much better than I could have done myself and a whole lot less painful to me as a homeowner. I felt that the pricing was fair for the work performed and in the end I was glad that I contracted with DeckMaster for this work.

    We needed a new walkway (or patio) to connect our front porch to the garage (to replace the original quartz stone, board, & flagstone design), a new front porch (since the boards were rotting), and we needed the EverGrain Composite Decking of our back deck power-washed and stained. Deckmaster was the only contractor who could do all three jobs, and the finished product on all three was great, and they gave us a great price. They redid the stairs on the back deck and gave us an extra step on the front porch, both of which we really like.     Juan and Luis just completed a refurbishing of our 28-year old deck. Deck Master actually came out to our property at the scheduled time (unlike Deck Helmet who scheduled an appointment, asked that all “decision makers” be present, then just looked at a satellite image of our property and gave an estimate over the phone!) and listened to our request to replace a few boards, sand, and refinish the entire deck.     UPDATE: After my previous review was posted, DeckMaster immediately got in touch with me to try to remedy the situation. The work crew came back out and fixed all of the issues that we had to our satisfaction. I wish the communication had been a bit smoother during the entire process, but ultimately I am pleased with the end result.I hired this company to fix some stairs on my deck which had some rotting wood on the supports. Communication was inconsistent, and I had to contact them a few times to ask about sending over the contract to sign and to get an idea when work would start. They also havent been very responsive to some concerns expressed after the work was completed. Regarding those concerns: After the work was done, it looks like some rotting wood remained and wasnt replaced. Additionally, some parts of the stairs dont appear to have been re-assembled properly. Some railings are a bit crooked and other parts dont line up properly. I was disappointed with the final result.

    Our deck had been treated with an incorrect product by a handyman. I really thought there was no hope for getting the stuff off and thought we would need to replace the deck. Our deck was awful with mildew and such as it backs up to woods and now looks like a new deck.     You should definitely consider using DeckMaster for renovating or replacing your deck. They recently replaced the original wood decking on our deck using composite decking. Jose was far and away the most knowledgeable about the pros and cons of renovating old decking versus replacing with new decking in comparson to the other two companies that I invited to provide quotes. In addition, DeckMasters pricing was very competitive. The work was done expertly and in a very timely fashion. Pavel, the foreman, is very conscientious, and everything was done perfectly. He even returned to install quarter-round molding at the deck-siding junction to deal with the difference in width of the new composite versus the old wood deckboards, without charging us extra . I will definitely contract DeckMasters in the future when I decide to renovate or replace the deck railings. Thus, all good, and no complaints, from start to finish in my experience with DeckMaster.

    I have been using Deckmaster for many years to maintain our large deck. I love their proprietary emulsion that cleans all the scrum prior to powerwashing. It definitely helps save the life of the wood because not as much power is required. I have them stain the deck soon after cleaning. If you invest the extra money when building the deck, using epe hardwood will keep your deck like new forever. Ours is 20 years old and after Deckmaster cleans and stains the deck, it looks brand new.
