    We cannot say enough great things about our experience with Nicholas Design Build! After experiencing a terrible house fire a few years ago, bad luck went to worse when we hired a restoration company that unfortunately left our home in an even bigger mess. Kyle and his incredible team came in and rebuilt our custom home to be even better than it was before the fire! As someone who has a passion for design and decor, our project manager and team at NDB worked closely with me every step of the way to make my dreams come to life! If you’re on the fence between Nicholas and other companies, go with Nicholas! Their work is impeccable and we are thrilled to be back in our beautiful home, thanks to them!

    From start to finish, Kyle and his team, Chris, Shannon, Will, Andrew, and many other experienced and talented tradesmen, worked diligently and punctually to get our project done.We kinda felt like we were out of our league with the first class treatment and thoroughness during our final design meeting because they treated our smaller project like it was a big project and made us feel so cared for.     Everyone in this organization was exceptional. Our first experience was with Mike McGuigan. Mike possesses a unique combination of professionalism, patience, being down to earth, attentive listening, excellent product knowledge and sensitivity to needs. I cannot say enough good things about Mike.We then started working with Emily Thrasher. Again, Emily was excellent listening to our needs, great product knowledge, attentive and responsible to our questions and concerns, always available and so easy to work with.Then, we started work with the contractor on the job, Nick Tschuor. Nick could not have been easier to work with. Extremely attentive, repeatedly calling us to get clarification on situations, always thoroughly explaining options , giving his opinion when asked to do so, very professional , patient , sensitive and always giving us the feeling that he would take care of whatever issues came up. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Nick.The Nicholas Build team that I worked with was first class, professional, concerned and thorough. They completed the project timely and with attention to detail, just like they promised. Each person we worked with had the ability to instill confidence in them.Our experience could not have been better.

    Our decision to utilize Nicholas Design for kitchen and patio project remodels was the best contractor selection decision we’ve ever made. They were extremely professional and completely reliable at every phase of the projects. We had online access to the schedule, schematic design drawings, material selections etc… They made great suggestions, and steered us through the decision process to arrive at a project vision that exceeded our expectations.Our project manager Chris contacted us first thing each day through the project to update us on what would take place that day, and who would be involved. He consulted with us on the schedule and accommodated our needs if rescheduling or juggling was necessary. The demolition and various construction teams were very respectful, taking great care to protect the adjacent parts of the house. And the end of each day, they cleaned up all materials leaving no debris, dust etc…And the work they performed was very high quality with great attention to detail and at a reasonable cost. We are very very happy with the results and with the total experience and if we ever have additional work required, there is no question who we will contact!

    NDB just completed our first floor overhaul including new kitchen, Butler’s pantry, stair cases, and dining room. They kept to their original price despite several surprises hidden in walls and floors. Jessica and Kelsey came up with an amazing design and were able to find ways to expand the kitchen with the help of their in-house structural engineers. Chris did an excellent job managing the project and keeping us informed throughout the process. Loving our new space and highly recommend NDB.

    Our experience with Nicholas was how every home remodel should go. We were looking to update our 1989 kitchen to something more bright and modern. We knew we wanted to open up the space to the living room, but this would mean taking out a wall that was home to the refrigerator, oven, and microwave. Unsure how this could work, Laura and Laurie designed a beautiful, functional kitchen that integrated soothing design elements and a spacious workspace. Our project manager, Bruce, was straightforward with all aspects of the project (good and bad) and kept us updated throughout the work taking place in our home. There was constant communication over text as well as maintenance of the project schedule on the BuilderTrend app. The carpenters, workers, and subcontractors who came to do work were always friendly and considerate of our time and space. Anthony, Andrew, Kevin, and Seth were fun and easy to talk to, and at the same time were extremely professional and all had an amazing attention to detail. We always felt like our concerns were heard and acted upon expeditiously. From start to finish the team at Nicholas made us feel like VIPs. We couldn’t have asked for better remodeling experience!

    We hired Nicholas Design Build to remodel all common areas of our 1970s Carmel home (kitchen, living, and dining).  The project included completely relocating the kitchen, removing load-bearing walls, modifying a window opening with brick exterior (that they matched perfectly), all new flooring, running 2x the electrical that was previously in the space, adding a massive kitchen island, installing a new front door, and many other updates!  From the start, Jessica and Kelsey were amazing to work with.  We had so much fun at our design sessions!  One warning though…despite NDB owning the project from start to finish, there are a lot of design decisions to make, and it requires a lot of upfront time from the homeowners to meet during normal business hours so it’s helpful if you have that flexibility.  Having every selection made prior to project start made the rest of the project go very smoothly though.  Chris was our project manager and texted us each morning letting us know the names of the people we should expect to be working at the house that day.  This was particularly helpful since my husband and I both work from home.  All of the NDB team members and subcontractors were respectful of our home, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves well each day.  The BuilderTrend app and website had a project schedule accessible to us which came in handy, but we found that it was generally updated weekly rather than daily.  Speaking of the schedule…to top things off, we were expecting a baby close to the projected completion date and the NDB team was just wrapping up the backsplash as we headed to the hospital!!  In the end, we spent more money than we initially expected to (although we were aware of this before construction started) but wound up with a stunning end result that most of our friends and family think belongs in a catalog.  If you believe in “you get what you pay for” you will be happy you hired NDB!

    The Nicholas team created a beautiful and stylish bathroom for us. The entire crew from design to finish were professional, efficient, knowledgeable and thorough. We so enjoyed working with the design team as well as the daily interaction with our project manager. Their communication and attention to each detail were exemplary.     We got design plans and quotes from multiple contractors. We chose Nicholas because of their design creativity, professionalism and willingness to spend time discussing our project prior to a major commitment.They listened to our vision and let us know up front the challenges and what to expect. Remodeling, especially involving structural changes, requires great skill, the ability to adjust and most importantly, to communicate clearly and consistently to the homeowner. Nicholas checked all the boxes. They were sensitive to the interruption in our daily lives and also to their commitment to stay on the timeline they provided.The end product was a complete transformation of our kitchen and primary living area, creating more space, light and functionality. Nicholas Design Build continues to follow-up on any “punch list” items and their 3 year guarantee gives us confidence we can live in our home and they will continue to address items we may notice over the next few months and beyond.My wife and I both highly recommend Nicholas Design Build if you are considering a remodel project that will transform your home and add lasting value.One last note, you will have people “living” in your home for potentially weeks or months and the employees of Nicholas Design Build were all very personable, clean and treated our home as if it was theirs. We actually missed them a bit when it was complete!

    I would highly recommend Nicholas Design to anyone looking for a kitchen re-model (or any other remodel they have a hand in). They were professional from the outset and it carried through our entire project. Our designer, Laura, put together the entire plan which we accepted upon sight and the final product exceeded our expectations. Each day, the project manager, Jeremiah, and workers arrived on time, provided clear communication on what to expect, and delivered a flawless transformation to our home. Even our neighbors commented on how they showed up first thing each day and stayed all day until the work was done.They made our entire family comfortable even during these COVID times. We reviewed several different design companies and are grateful we made the right choice in going with Nicholas Design!     Kyle and his team did a phenomenal job on our kitchen remodel. The scope of the project included moving and adding walls and exterior doors and windows, new kitchen cabinetry, counters and finishes, replacing the floors on our entire main level, and some additional trim work. The work was completed in an extremely reasonable timeframe.From our initial consultation to design to construction and completion, we felt that Kyle and his team really took the time to listen to our needs/wants and created a product that far exceeded our expectations. Laura, our designer, was amazing to work with, and her recommendations and suggestions felt personalized to our taste and style. We feel that she was able to design something that really feels like it fits in our home. Our project manager, Mike, was so easy to talk to and made sure the job ran as smoothly and efficiently as possible.     We hired Nicholas Design Build to redo our kitchen and cubby area this past summer, and they did fantastic work. Laura designed a beautiful open kitchen that makes our kitchen the heart of the home that we always wanted it to be. The project included removing a wall, building a different wall, adding new lighting, new cabinets and countertops, moving the sink, and all new appliances (including double-ovens and a cooktop, replacing a traditional single electric oven). Kyle was honest and up front, and has a clear focus on ensuring the crew does quality work. They pay attention to the details. I highly recommend using them - we certainly will for any projects in the future.

    Nicholas Design Build was recommended to me after I was left in a real bind when another contractor quit on me in the middle of my full remodel project. Kyle came in and agreed to complete the project and was very up front with potential risks since they were tearing out work previously completed by the other contractor. The home was originally built in 1978 so we also did not know what was behind some of the walls. All of the staff was professional and fun to deal with. Although some of the work was already completed by the prior contractor, they had to do a LOT of re-work. I also worked with Laura to design and pick out selections for remodeling that was not started yet. It all turned out FANTASTIC. They helped me turn a really bad experience into a great one and I love my modern home! I would definitely use Nicholas Design Build again. They helped me when many other contractors didnt want to.

    Kyle did several projects for us. We had our garage insulated and dry walled. All the trim, patio and shutters needed updated with paint too. They caulked everything and gave the house a fresh feel. We also added a deck which gave us a lot space outside to entertain and grill. We were so happy with everything that we are planning a full basement project with a bedroom and bathroom.
