    Furnace quit during a 25Ā° Friday night. CB Lucas scheduled me for Monday morning but an hour later called back to tell me they had a technician in the neighborhood and could fit me in right now. 2 hours later I was all good. Ive been a customer for over 30 years and CB Lucas has always given me excellent service at a reasonable price.

    Had a representative (really wish I can remember his name) that came to my house to repair the coils in my HVAC. I thought they needed to be replaced, which wouldā€™ve cost me a fortune, but he was able to remove the residue enough to salvage them. That integrity goes a long way. I would definitely recommend CB Lucus for my HVAC needs.

    They installed my parentsā€™ water heater and AC/heater originally and they both last over 24 years! We just had them out to replace both and they are very good at installation and cleanliness as well as itā€™s nice to have a true local office. I would highly recommend!

    I have lived in my home since 1974 and once again C. B. Lucas has come to the rescue. Bill, my serviceman, was awesome! He was extremely professional, friendly, polite, courteous and very very competent. He fully answered all my questions, so I could make a comfortable decision on what I needed. This company has done extensive plumbing, gas line, heating and AC work for me over the years and I have never been disappointed. I will not call anyone else. I cant thank Bill enough for a job well done and is way more worthy than 5 stars!     Monica and Josh were excellent. They showed up on time, they took care to keep everything as clean as possible and to not bang our walls as they were carrying equipment through the house, they worked diligently to complete the job as quickly as possible, and they were very professional. The cost for the new unit seemed very reasonable. This is the second time we have used CB Lucas (1st time they replaced our downstairs unit 7 years ago, this time was our upstairs unit). Would highly recommend this company.

    Just recently our AC unit stopped blowing cold air and it was a hot summer day. I contacted CB Lucas and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. The master technician, Bill, came and resolved in 30 minutes. He determined that the outside unit had 2 wires chewed by a rodent. He fixed the wires, and the house started the cool down from 81* degrees.I have used CB Lucas for years and definitely will continue to. Their plumbers are also exceptional. Greg has completed numerous plumbing fixes and is always on point.All these staff members have been very professional and know exactly what they are doing.Thank you !

    I decided to write this review after my experience with Bill from CB Lucas today. Our attic unit was leaking water from the return air filter. It was a hot day today and Bill came to address our issue. He solved the problem and provided a full explanation of what led to it, while spending plenty of time in the attic. We enjoyed his timeliness and knowledge, and he was very personable. If we have any other issues, we will definitely request Bill for the call. Thanks!

    I normally dont write reviews however, Bill just finished installing my replacement A/C coil and I decided to write one because of how professional, knowledgeable, and nice he was.     I called CB Lucas at 1130am with an air conditioning problem and a technician was at my home before 1 pm on the same day. Bill arrived and was quite pleasant. I know COVID has changed how people respond and treat each other; it meant a lot to me that Bill was considerate, kind, and professional. He asked several questions about the system before taking a look at the actual unit. Bill checked each area inside before proceeding to the outside unit. He diagnosed the problem and repaired it. Before he left, my unit was cooling the house again. I think it is trembly important that CB Lucas know that Bill exceeded expectations in service. I was impressed by his knowledge of the system and his willingness to help me understand the problem. Bill validate your customer service motto and your commitment to excellent standards. Thank you!

    C.B. Lucas has been doing the maintenance and service on our HVAC systems since we moved in ten years ago. Bill has usually been our assigned technician and takes great care to inspect our two systems in the spring and winter and advise us on possible repairs and replacements to avoid unnecessary breakdowns. Honest and forthright, I am completely confident in the work he does. The staff in the office are also personable and always helpful too. Great company! I highly recommend signing up for the Bronze service agreement.

    We lost heat this morning, called C.B Lucas service, they sent technician same day (asap) which I felt was a great response. Bill was the technician who came, he notified me 15 minutes before the arrival. He has a pleasant personality, very professional, diagnosed the problem very quickly, fixed it, explained why it might have happened and stressed on the importance of timely filter change.     CB Lucas performed their semi-annual maintenance inspection and it went without a hitch. I have been a customer for over 10 years and they are the best. Bill was my technician and he was prompt and thorough. He discovered a mouse had accessed the heat pump and had damaged the condenser and was able to make a swift repair. I cant recommend CB Lucas highly enough.

    My experience with CB Lucas has been very good. They are prompt when arriving within the time window, are responsive when you call, and have been cooperative with my condo officeā€™s upstairs HVAC access requirements.Eric, the HVAC technician, was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions and helping fix the issue we had with our fire damper on the HVAC unit.     We have been using C.B. Lucas for years for our rental unit, and now that we are full time residents we had them come out and put a service contract on our new house. For starters the prices far better than the competitors, and the day my air conditioning went out they sent Bill over to check it out. Within minutes he knew that it was a capacitor. When trying to unpack and do minor remodel projects it helps to have working A/C. The service has always been fast, clean, and friendly. I would highly recommend them for any HVAC or Plumbing jobs you may have.

    Bill came out the same day that we initially called in our service need. He was able to determine what the problem was and was able to place the order for the parts immediately. Since he could not really give us an ETA on shipping due to COVID, he was able to come up with a temporary solution for the system to continue to work while we waited.     I called CB Lucas to check out my A/C, non emergency, and they were able to come out just a few days later. The scheduling staff was very friendly, even stated they would call and let me know when the tech was on the way so I did not have to wait at home all day for them to arrive. On the day of appointment the office called me and said the tech was on the way. Bill arrived a short time later and completed a check of the system and found the Freon a bit low. He repaired the system and cleaned the outside unit all at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend CB Lucas for any of your HVAC needs.

    Have used this company for years. Always reliable. Bill is the best technician. He arrived on time, with a mask. He answered any and all questions and was professional. This company puts customer service first unlike many others. 5 years ago Bill came in a snowstorm after closing time to get our heating system working, will always be grateful for that. A part had to be ordered and replaced, but in the interim we had heat until the permanent fix could be installed later that week. Now that is great customer service!

    I love the fact that its a family owned business. I have been a customer for years and they have never disappointed. I just had my three A/C units serviced today for the upcoming summer season with one of my favorite techs (Bill). He thoroughly checked all three systems and one in particular for a possible leak he suspected a couple of months ago. Turned out to be a false alarm and all three units checked out thoroughly. Their technician Bill arrived at my house in Spotsylvania County within an hour of my call and was able to fix the issue in maybe 20 minutes.     We have happily used CB Lucas for over a decade. They maintained our old HVAC system that was nearing 28 years old, then did a great job installing the new system when it was time. We now have a semiannual maintenance agreement and the employees that come out are always within the window of time given (every time, twice a year for ten years!). I get a call fifteen minutes before their arrival. They are friendly, professional, and take the time to explain their findings. We can always get an appointment when we need one, even same-day in July heat when our AC stopped working. Today, Bill serviced our system during its Fall check-up and he was great, definitely upheld the quality of work and professionalism we have come to expect and appreciate from CB Lucas.

    I want to thank Bill for the honest and amazing work he did. He was prompt, professional, and informative as he showed me exactly what the problem was!Our AC unit kept tripping the breaker when the outside unit would try to start up. Our home warranty company sent AC Pride out who diagnosed that it was the compressor and quoted us $1,200 (our unit is a year old). My wife wasnt going for it, so she researched and found C.B. Lucas.     Hoping to avoid any repairs or maintenance until COIVD-19 was over but apparently fate had other ideas. My air handler started making weird grinding noises and winter coming around, I decided to call C.B. Lucas. Bill was sent to our condo and there were no regrets. He took a look (face mask and shoe covers) and identified the problem as the fan motor controller. Bill was transparent about the cost upfront and provided options because the repair cost was steep. Without hesitation, I scheduled the repair. On the return visit, Bill was done in less than 30 min, and my unit works flawlessly (quieter than before surprisingly).     Weve had a service contract w/ CB Lucas since 2008 to maintain our two gas furnaces and central AC units. The furnaces are original to the house and now 25yrs. old. The AC units where changed out in 2008 and 2010. Throughout this period, Bill has been one of maybe three reps to provide service. He and the rest of the CB Lucas Team have always provided me an honest explanation, a fair price, and timely response to our needs. What I admire about the company is their attitude to repair vice replace. The other companies I called in 2008 all wanted to replace the furnaces when all i needed was AC. Twelve years later the original furnaces are still cracking away, thanks to Bills regular inspections and upkeep.

    Great service from estimator and install crew. Weve used this company to replace two failed air conditioners over the past two years. Thats a lot of money. When the upstairs unit failed last year I knew I couldnt trust the repair company or home warranty service uses. Other companies came across as less trust worthy or overly expensive, but CB Lucas seemed friendly, responsible and honest from the beginning. They were! The pricing was reasonable too. When the larger unit went down, we knew we could rely on them. In the midst of a heat wave, they took great care of us.

    Our upstairs AC unit failed, and simultaneously our downstairs unit appeared to be leaking water. Called CB Lucas and they had a technician out that very morning.The technician, Bill, was capable and courteous. He quickly assessed the problem with both units (they were unrelated). He quickly fixed the float switch allowing the downstairs unit to flood its basin, and quickly discovered that we had a refrigerant leak in our upstairs unit. As a former construction worker and an engineer, Im always curious about how things fail. He showed me right where the leak was and why it was un-repairable. He also showed me how to clear clogs in the drains for both units and make sure the float switches were properly set.When the new coil arrived for the upstairs unit, Bill was, again, the technician they sent out. He got the coil replaced, the system re-filled, and he even modified the drain so it would flow more freely.Turns out major HVAC repairs are not cheap, but CB Lucas was extremely responsive to our situation, and Bill was, as I said before capable and courteous, going out of his way to show and explain to me how things worked.

    I had a CB Lucas technician come out two (2) weeks ago to diagnose an A/C issue. The technician simply replenished the refrigerant and said that the system may hold the refrigerant for some time or it may not. Within five (5) days the A/C was back to blowing uncooled air. I called CB Lucas again to have a technician come back out and literally within two (2) seconds of visually inspecting the outdoor unit, the technician (Bill) said theres a leak right there. Bill fixed the leak and had my system back in optimal condition quickly. I will certainly be requesting Bill, specifically, when calling CB Lucas for HVAC in the future. Definitely 5-star service!!

CB Lucas gets all of that and will do everything they can to help get you to the other side of it.Called them today around lunch time and the service tech Roy, was at my home within hours (the lady who scheduled me went out of her way to get me on the calendar asap and was friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate, ect...). By far, they were the most professional and thorough in evaluating the system, they did not recommend replacing the furnace yet, too, as it probably has a few years of life left. The replacement was smooth, professional, clean and we had a great value for the cost (they also beat the quotes of the other two companies who did NOT carry Trane but were quoting lesser quality brands).

    CB Lucas installed two HVAC/Heat pump systems in my old house about 15 years ago. At THAT time, I got three quotes and they were the lowest, the most no nonsense and seemingly the most honest. They did the job when they said they would, and maintained the system (Trane) for the duration of the warranty until I sold the house. I then became widowed and moved to a townhouse and because I had two gas fireplaces, started having a new company come and maintain my fireplaces and HVAC system. The new company told me I needed a new A/C and coil (true). They demanded two hours of my time to discuss my needs and after discussing all kinds of fancy geegaws that I didnt need or want (filtration systems, alternating dual speed A/C systems or something like that) they gave me an initial quote of $14000!!!! At which point, I told them to get out, and they immediately reduced it to $5000. I told them I was done, and immediately called CB Lucas who asked me about my house, my floors, where the thermostat was, and what the model number was of my existing unit. They gave me quote over the phone ($3800), answered my questions about dual fans/filtration systems/dehumidifiers etc. (no, I dont need them), and came and did the work as stated cleanly and pleasantly. They may not be the cheapest when it comes to maintaining, but they are honest and do a good job. I would highly recommend.

    Its never fun when your A/C gives out in the middle of the summer. Thankfully, the guys from C.B. Lucas gave us a good deal on a new system (which we verified with an estimate from another company), and had it installed three days later, which seems almost miraculous at this time of year (August 3rd). The best part was that the whole time my wife and I were dealing with them, from Doug, who came out to diagnose our problem and gave us the estimates, to Mike Lucas, who we worked out the details with, to Cody and Tony, who did the installation, we always felt like we were dealing with honorable people whom we could trust, and we havent been let down.     Our A/C died during the heatwave. We called so many companies for help. Of course, heatwave equals no one can come out for days and days. One company sent a tech right away. We werent home when he arrived. We had to take a friend to airport. Our son in law was there and said the guy was very unhappy with how hot the house was. He called us in the car and he lied to us and said the problem was the filters. We knew he was lying. He assured us all we had to do is clean a filter my husband has just cleaned in an effort to get system running. The system was running just fine for him. So he left.house was 90 when we got back so we called the company and he refused to come back bc the house was too hot. Seriously. It became dangerous fast. So much for taking pride in ones work. We fled for 3 days. We set up a cooling system for our animals, left them water and such and left the house. CB Lucas put our current system in several years ago, so we called them and Angie sent a tech as soon as possible. He couldnt fix it that day, but he figured out a way to get us up and running for the night as even more dangerous heat was coming. Even though he didnt have the part that was needed, he treated us like human beings and made sure our system could survive while he got the necessary part. House peaked at 90. Cooling off now.     Weve been using CB Lucas for over 15 years. They installed HVAC systems in our current house, as well as our previous house. We have been pleased with their maintenance and repair services as well. We can usually get a same-day or next-day appointment when we call them, and the customer service reps are pleasant to speak with. Today, Bill came to troubleshoot our upstairs AC unit, and I was impressed by his professionalism. He found and resolved the problem quickly, but he also checked the rest of the system to make sure we would have a cool house in this extreme heat. Bill also took the time to explain what he was doing, and what our future options were when it comes time to replace the unit. I would recommend Bill and all of the techs at CB Lucas.

    Iā€™ve had a maintenance contract with C.B. Lucas for over 10 years on my 2 AC systems and the quality of service has always been outstanding. Recently Bill, a service technical representative from C.B. Lucas, serviced my 2 HVAC units and provided a high level of service. He was truly knowledgeable and worked quickly and efficiently to repair several frayed electrical wires on the outside unit and recharged one of the AC units with several pounds of 410A refrigerant. A great company with highly skilled and knowledgeable employees.
